Popped in and out of Anaheim garden walk for a silly drink here. I'd heard good things about the tea taste, so I wanted to try it for myself. Parking is free for the first hour without validation, so you can grab your drink and leave quickly. Interior is cute and very themed white and green. Good amount of seating for a mall location, where most people won't be sitting down for many hrs. Store was clean and ordering was very easy. Drinks came out in just a couple min with no wait. Brown sugar milk tea w/boba - I initially liked the boba texture, but it seems to harden easily. Flavor is good but unfortunately I didn't taste the tea as well. If I could go back, I'd get this with lower sugar. 4/5, still a good drink but not mind blowing Jasmine milk tea w/boba, 50% sweet - this didn't taste like much. Tea flavor completely lost when the sugar was cut out. Just disappointed in this, especially for it being $8+ incl tip. While drinks were solid, I would not go out of my way. Still on the hunt for boba that has a good tea taste, won't blow up my small intestine, and well cooked pearls. If you need a quick fix, this is a promising location. read more

As far as boba shops go, Chaplus Anaheim offers a variety of drink choices that I don't see very often in other places. Non-alcoholic whisky limited-infused drinks? Erm, heck yes I want to try! However, it really shouldn't have taken 15 minutes for us to get our two drink orders in my opinion... I completely understand if they were new or were understaffed, but it seemed a bit odd that our drinks (and we were the only drink orders at the time) would take so long. There were a few other customers that had ordered egg waffles before us, so I understand when they needed to work on filling those orders. But it seemed really weird when one was working on these while the other was... being moral support? To me, it would've been easy to quickly build our two drinks and have us be on our way. Waiting ten minutes already seems long. But fifteen minutes? Hm, probably not coming back again. Drinks themselves weren't anything special despite their name being a bit more on the unique end. I REALLY wanted to like this place since there's so many unique drinks that you can't find at any other boba place and that's a huge deciding factor as to whether or not I want to try them out. There was an event going on at the Garden Walk, so the 20-30 minute wait in line and to get the drink was to be expected. There's a couple chairs inside and the aesthetic is very green and chill. We got the: 1) Whiskey Chocolate Matcha Slush: -We got this at 25% sweet, since that's the lowest that they can go with it. -Very interesting taste and somehow, even with matcha it's caffeine free? -This is part of their limited time alcohol-free whisky flavored drink series. -For all the years I've drank boba, I've NEVER seen this -Starts off with a banana taste for some reason? -Then just mostly tastes like regular matcha with chocolate. With just a hint of a kind of smoky after tastes. -Just alright. 2) Gold Truffle Oolong Milk Cap: -BIG SKIP. ABSOLUTELY AVOID. -Definitely not worth it, despite being one of their more popular drinks. -Especially since it's one of the most pricy, if not most expensive drinks. -I wouldn't have been as disappointed with this if it came with a dome type lid where I can actually see the gold pieces. -Instead it was a completely sealed lid. We ordered the bubble milk tea and Vietnamese coffee. The boba quality is not great so I wouldn't order a boba drink here again, but might try one of the other tea/lemonade drinks next time. The Vietnamese coffee was strong, I'd give it a 7/10. It was decently good but not memorable. I'm a fan! We walked by Chaplus right about the time I started craving a refreshing beverage. When looking at their menu my eyes immediately averted to the Lychee Dragon Fruit Slush. It's exactly what it sounds like. And it's all I wanted. The staff was so sweet. They were super friendly and when I asked if it really was as pretty as it looked on the menu, one of the girls exclaimed, "I'll make it that pretty for you!" The interior was a very calming theme, green seats against a gray backdrop and plant decor. I loved how bright it was. If we weren't anxious to walk around I would have loved to stay and enjoy the fresh, relaxing atmosphere. The drink was so perfect. It's not as sweet as it may look so don't be disappointed. I found it just about the right level. It was a very interested (in a good way, promise!) flavor, and the lychee bits were fun to eat and tasted great! The size is generous as well. I needed a boba fix while I was in the area so I just wandered about the Anaheim Gardenwalk and saw Chaplus. It's a cute little tea shop with some touches. I love the design on the wall and the color scheme of everything. The moment I saw "blueberry milk tea" on the menu, I just had to get it. Rarely do shops (that I've been to at least) offer this. I asked for it with a green tea base and crystal boba. My mom decided on the lychee dragonfruit slush with boba. Both are offered in a large size only. The blueberry milk tea is made with real fruit so there were blueberry skins mixed into the drink. I thought it'd taste yummy to have that real fruit essence, but I actually didn't taste much flavor in this drink unfortunately. It just tasted like a light milky drink with a tiny hint of fruitiness, but no strong flavor of blueberry or green tea. My mom enjoyed her drink and the boba, but said that it really just tasted like lychee overall and not really any stronger hints of dragonfruit flavor in it. I did ask the girl that was taking the order if I may use the 10% off entire order from the Yelp check in, but she just said she doesn't know how to do that and that she's actually still really new. She did seem soft spoken and fairly timid, so I don't blame her, but after seeing another employee behind her that was doing something else, I thought she could have at least asked her for help if she could process it, but she just had a nervous laugh and said "sorry" We were the only ones in the shop for a little while and sat down at a table. I sat at the edge of the chair because it was all stained and dirty, and the table was full of crumbs and sticky from ppl placing their drinks there. This place is just not good. It's rather cute, but I just really couldn't find a single good thing to say about my experience here. I pulled up on a Saturday afternoon and the store was empty. My friend and I were the only customers, but we still had to wait over twenty five minutes before we got our drinks. That sort of wait time is understandable if there was a line or if the boba was the fresh, but that most definitely was not the case. My order was a 50% sweetness Oolong Latte with boba, but everything about it was wrong. First, the sweetness level was more than 100% at any other location besides maybe Kung Fu Tea. You couldn't even taste the tea, it was just straight cavities entering your system. The boba was sadder if that was possible. Way undercooked and stiff in the center. Someone bought a lychee dragon fruit slushie. $5.75 Ohh the colors were layered ombré colors of shades of reddish purple and blues. Very Instagram worthy pretty. And more importantly it tasted good. I love coming here for their handmade taro milk tea! Even though the drink is a bit pricey, I appreciate that there's a lot of real mashed taro (almost half the cup!) so I think it's worth it. It also requires a lot of mixing and stirring because the chunks are all at the bottom, but once it's well mixed it tastes delicious! I also like that the drink itself is not overly sweet even at full sweetness, even though I still prefer my drinks at quarter sweet. Beware though, because of how much taro is in it, this drink is very filling! Their fruit teas are also nice and refreshing! Passed by this place as I was going through the gardenwalk and it seemed cute so I went in and ordered a brown sugar strawberry milk tea. It was not that great. I feel like it lacked flavor in the boba, the tea, and the strawberry. Also, they need bigger cups to put more ice because once I mixed it, the hot boba just turned the whole drink lukewarm. At first my drink was really tarty but after it watering down I loved it. For the roasted oolong, you could tasted the roasted aspect but I didn't think it was the best oolong. It could have been better. The waffle was tasty with the Nutella and strawberry, but I usually prefer my waffle to be slightly soft. It was very crunchy. After a disappointing drink from Ding Tea, my friend told me I should try my luck here and offered to let me use one of her rewards she earned. It is located in the Anaheim Gardenwalk across from the cell phone accessories store and near the fountain. There's plenty of parking in the structure and the first hour is free. No one else was in there when I went in and the staff were friendly when I placed my order. I tried the Alishan Oolong Milk Tea with half sweetness and less ice, plus boba. They make the drinks with non-dairy creamer, unless you order a fresh milk tea. They offer a rewards program, which can total up to free drinks with multiple visits and purchases. (That's how I got my drink today.) The team worked quickly to put my order together and I was walking out in 1-2 minutes. The flavor of the tea is pleasant and not overwhelming like some oolong blends I've tried. (I've been to places where the oolong blends have a funny or bitter aftertaste.) They do not skimp on boba pearls, as there were plenty at the bottom of my drink. The boba has a good consistency where it is chewy without being hard or too gummy. I'd consider coming here again if I'm in the area. The team had plexiglas baricades up to protect the staff, but they were all wearing masks and gloves. I saw they have handmade taro milk tea and had to give it a try. Taro is my go to milk tea and my two favorite places also use real taro. If you love taro, you must get their HANDMADE TARO MILK TEA! It was so good and a perfect balance of milk tea and taro. The only bummer was the $5.75 price tag for a cup that isn't too big (I think it was 20 ounces?). The barista warned me about how it wouldn't have the fake purple color and you need to shake it often as the taro chunks sink to the bottom. I guess a lot of people aren't used to real taro drinks and had concerns? While walking through the mall, it seemed like this might be the only milk tea option during the week. All the others were closed. Upon arriving, I noticed a happy hour sign: Monday-Thursday 4-8pm $6 for a medium bubble milk tea and bubble waffle (no substitutions) I decided to go ahead and give it a try. BUBBLE MILK TEA: An average tasting milk tea. BUBBLE WAFFLE: A nice egg flavor. Made fresh to order. I do still prefer a good belgium waffle. But I think if this had a topping on it, that would have helped a lot. Overall, I would skip the happy hour deal next time. I'd rather pay extra for a specialty drink and waffle that I actually want.
