Update: DJ messaged my husband a day after I left my review (pic below). If what he texted was true then he would have argued with the GM if he had to about lowering the price on one of the cars we liked that wasn't an Acura instead of saying they could only take $700 off of it even though our car was ruined. ***don't recommend Patrick or DJ*** My husband and I leased our 2023 HR V back in October 2022 through DJ and had a positive experience. I have learned that a positive first time experience doesn't mean you should go back for a second experience. About a month ago my husband mentioned looking at trucks and I told him that it was up to him, that I wouldn't ever drive it because I hate big cars. We went here since we aren't allowed to trade in a leased vehicle anywhere besides Acura or Honda and Chapman Acura had a red F 150 my husband liked. My husband test drove it and liked it so we did the numbers and he agreed to it. Patrick was the main one in charge of the paperwork, but DJ was our salesman since he did our lease. My husband signed some paperwork (he never signed the actual paperwork, the dealership pretty much lied to him about the interest rate... keep reading). He has the truck for a month and he hadn't received any paperwork from the local credit union he got approved through so he calls them and they said the interest rate he was approved for was different than what the dealership told him and that the dealership never returned their call. That he was technically declined. So he called the Honda/Acura dealership and he said he didn't want the truck because he didn't want a higher interest rate than what they said and that they should have returned the banks call instead of not doing anything for a full month. That they didn't deserve a sale after the negative experience he had. We asked for our leased car back that we traded in and they said they couldn't give it back to us. We told them well you have to since we don't want the truck that didn't have the deal we agreed on. The deal was never made, no valid paperwork was signed. They said no, we can't give you your car back. Not because they paid it off, but because a homeless person that was caught on camera had started an alley fire that caused 3 cars to catch on fire the weekend of October 19-20 Our car (2023 Honda HR V), a $85k Acura, and an Acura rental were caught on fire. We asked if we could look at our car since we didn't believe them. The whole back driver side of our car was burnt. I knew it was mine because of the tire caps. The car had the LX wheels on it when I had it, but the dealership was about to sell it and the person said they wanted the black wheels so they agreed. We were told that we could choose a different car instead of the truck we didn't want anymore as long as it wasn't new. We liked a few of the used cars they had, but they wouldn't give us the decent discount ($3000) like the GM offered since our car was ruined. We told them that if they weren't going to stick to what they said, then we would leave with the truck that we had signed papers for since they told us the HR V was technically there's for paying it off when it wasn't because the deal wasn't valid due to the interest rate being wrong on the paper my husband signed. When we said that they said "no you aren't, that's our truck. They said if you don't want the truck then you won't have any car" as if we would have to walk home. If we had been able to get our car back like we deserved since we said no to the deal, then we could have sold it ourselves and had $4-5k positive equity. I told Patrick and DJ that and they used a rude tone of voice and said "no you wouldn't have been able to". I said "yeah I would have, we owed $19,500 on our car since it was leased and could have sold it privately for $25k. I can show you the KBB value" Patrick said no once again and DJ followed along since their buddies. We lost $4-5k due to our car getting caught on fire. I would highly recommend staying far away from this place. This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in 20 years of doing business. I initially chose this place as they prided themselves on there service. I purchased a vehicle and was first met with disappointment when I found out that I would not be leaving with the vehicle the day I purchased it. I was reassured that it still needed to go through inspection so I was like ok I am getting a good vehicle. During this inspection it was determined that the water pump had a small leak and that they would take care of it. A week later I am finally able to go pick up the car and was very excited. I drove off the lot and 1.3 miles later the vehicle completely shuts off while I was on the on ramp of the express way, rush hour, and in 113 degree heat. The salesman gets me and my wife back to the dealership and the sales manager Patrick Yonas see me and ask what happened I tell him and he screams "F***" and runs off to his office not to be seen again. I get a loaner car and go home. Over the 4th of july weekend I wait to see what happens. More days go by and at this point im ready to just go back and get my old car back but while I was at work the salesman blows up my phone calling me 8 times. I am finally able to return his call and he tells me I am glad I got to you first, he tells me that when the mechanic replaced the water pump he did not flush the coolant, so when I drove off the engine siezed. He stated the car needed a new engine. He told me when the sales manager calls they are going to want to unwind the deal but I did have a warranty, the choice was mine. When I spoke to the sales manager Patrick the first thing he told me was we are unwinding the deal and we are going to wholesale the vehicle as it is not worth it to fix it. I was like no I have the warranty, your technician messed up this is your problem, I told him he could get his loaner car back when I get my vehicle. It was at this point he became very belligerent and went as far as to threaten me. At this point the salesman jumps in and sales you can speak with our other manager Monday to fix this. Come Monday I speak to Jaime Garcia. Mr. Garcia at first seemed to be a reasonable person but seem to have his head up his ass. During our interactions he twisted my words several times and lied to me on numerous occasions, I made sure to have all conversations recorded as proof and offered him to listen several times. The last straw with this man was when he charged my credit card without my verbal consent. At his level that is a zero tolerable offense and should be grounds for termination. Horrible service. At this point I want to speak to someone outside the organization so I call the corporates office and they route me right back to Acura and now I am dealing with the vice president Neb Yonas. Neb was very reasonable and actually apologized for the first time in this whole situation. Upon speaking with him his information doesn't match the information I was getting from Jaime which irritated me but I was this far in already. Another week goes by and I finally get the vehicle and TBD how it goes. I have yet to hear back from Neb himself, and I refuse to deal with Patrick or Jaime. Unfortunately for my salesman he was really great and took care of things however I wouldn't ever refer my worse enemy to this place and I certainly do not trust this place and will never ever get another vehicle here even if it was given to me for free. read more

Oil and filter charge a little high but acceptable given the quality of work. The labor charge to install new windshield wipers at $28 was outrageous since most auto parts stores will do it for free. Parts are fully priced and labor computes to $185 per hour!. Moreover, labor charges are flat rated per job regardless of how much time it takes. read more

I like to base my opinion of a company on how problems are settled and I have to say, Chapman gets 5 stars in my book. By no fault of their own, I had to back out of a deal for a very nice used truck on their lot. The issue was entirely on my end, but they were kind enough to refund my deposit fully even after bending over backward to get the deal done. That speaks volumes. This dealership told me it's normal for Acura vehicles to require their HVAC system be re-charged every 18 months. Then I had to pay for my (still under warranty) vehicle to have its system charged. They said it didn't have any leaks. Is this reasonable? read more

Very friendly service. I took my car in for a noise I was hearing from the front suspension area and they were able to diagnose and fix the same day. I had previously taken the car in for the same issue to another out of state dealer that told me "they didn't hear any noise and they couldn't find anything wrong". These guys found the issue in no time at all and the parts were all in stock. Add to that I have extended mechanical coverage through a 3rd party agency and the service manager Rene handled it with ease. This is to brag on sales rep, Kim Peters. Finally decided to break down and get a van for the family. We found the vehicle on Car Gurus and it was at this dealer. Living in Phoenix, we drove down to Tucson to look at it. Kim met us at the front door and offered her services to us. From the very beginning of our interaction, she explained everything perfectly and bent over backwards for me, my wife, and my 2 year old daughter. Even after we bought the van and drove it home, it needed service. She set up a time to meet us halfway in Casa Grande to exchange vehicles. We got the van back and it basically looked brand new. We even forgot a bag of clothing in the rental when we returned it and she sent it to us FedEx. Everywhere you look nowadays, customer service is severely lacking. It's one thing to receive great customer service at a restaurant, but a completely different thing to experience superior customer service at a place like a car dealership. DO NOT BUY AN ACURA RDX! I have owned 2 in the last 2 years and they continue to advertise that car has apple play - it does not have working apple play. It disconnects your phone calls repeatedly the screen goes black and if your trying to follow a map - you have to pull over, fiddle with your phone risking an accident. There is a class action lawsuit for this too - here is another's post.....The new update did NOT help me! Still disconnecting on my Acura RDX when connected to iPhone 11. Took it to the dealer for the 3rd time and they keep telling me for the past 2 years that they are waiting for a software update/patch. Waste of money and time! read more
