    QUESO

What a fantastic place to eat dinner! I went with a group of friends before a fancy event and it was such a great experience. The place was clean, fancy enough for dresses but also not too fancy where you can't wear jeans and a t shirt. The waiter was so friendly. The food was great but the queso was exquisite!! The croissants were so soft and buttery. All the meats were good as well. We will certainly be back!

Charlestons has been my go-to steak spot for over 20 years Through the years management has changed, locations have changed but the food has always remained the same high quality. I always get the filet with a baked potato and house salad with their home-made blue cheese dressing. I promise you'll never have blue cheese dressing better than theirs. You won't find a better made baked potato with perfect crispy, salty skin. You won't find a better prepared steak. And lastly you won't find a nice big flakey, buttery croissant with honey drizzled on top like charlestons The only negative I will give is I miss the ambiance of the older location. It was dimly lit and had a cozier family vibe compared to the new brightly lit more open, modern design Other than that all of their food is top notch. I know other family really enjoy their shrimp scampi and noodle dishes. They also make killer bread pudding when it's on the menu!

I've been going to Charleston's as long as they've been in business, always had great food, always had great service. I'm not sure how long it's been on the menu, but they now have fried chicken and they knocked it out of the park. I've had a two weeks in a row now. Once inside and wants to go. Both times incredible.

Had a nice meal to help celebrate our wedding anniversary. Would appreciate the staff doing a little more to make it more memorable, but the food was great. Kids had the burger and ribs. Both were cooked perfectly. Had the 1/2 chicken, which had so much flavor and the salad was really good. It came with a croissant, which was delicious. Kind of wish they gave enough for the table. Hard to split 5 ways. I liked that they had Coke products. It was pretty quiet at 5 pm, but got busier towards the end.

Charleston's has been my family's go-to "what should we eat for dinner" restaurant since I've been a kid. I was sad to see it leave the old location, but I was happy to hear they were keeping the same menu. My husband and I visited the new location last week and had a really good meal. We started with the chips and queso, which I had never had, but it was great - a little spicy! I had a chicken and avocado club. This was a nice, large portion and tasted light and fresh. My husband had the enchilada plate, and he was also impressed by his meal. The only note I have is the ambiance - it is LOUD. I feel like the dark, moody feel of the old building inherently lent itself to using quieter voices, but the bright, new location does not. I hope the invest in some kind of noise-reducing infrastructure, because I know I'm not the only person to notice the voice level.

First time trying charlestons and everything was delicious. Enchiladas were super tasty, and the croissants were some of the best I have ever had. I will definitely be back to try more things.

I've been in a lot but first time at the new location! Atmosphere and service are both great and fast--just as they were in the old spot. The salad (I subbed shrimp) is amazing--one of my favorites in town! This time it didn't come with as much dressing as usual which was disappointing, but all in all they are a very consistent spot and have a great variety, paired with excellent service!

My hubby works right across the street and I have never been to Charleston's. Well, what can I say? It's beautiful in the restaurant our waiter was friendly, outgoing and pretty cool. Lunch was delicious. Lots of options to choose from and they sometimes have promotions. I had gotten a sandwich and it was pretty big so I was only able to eat one half, but I had something for later. I got home, my son saw the box and I got suckered out of the other half. He loved it too. This review has been a long time coming, so I think I will be planning our next date night.

My wife and I both ordered the Everett's #2 with pulled chicken, coleslaw, and BBQ sauce. Everything just worked together perfectly. The chicken was tender, the slaw added the right crunch, and the bun tied it all together. It was one of those sandwiches where after the first bite you just look at each other and know you made the right choice. We also ordered the Saucy Rossy wings and they were the perfect heat level for both of us. Not so mild that they're boring and not so hot that you're suffering. Pro tip: get them fried and grilled. The extra texture and flavor are absolutely worth it. My wife is a total Brussels sprouts snob and she was absolutely in love with theirs. The funny part is that I'm usually not much of a Brussels sprouts person, but I kept asking for more off her plate. That alone should tell you how good they were. The fries were okay. Nothing that stole the show, but nothing to complain about either. The service wasn't the best during our visit, but they also had a 30-person table they were dealing with, so it was completely understandable. Even with that, the food was so good that it's already a top 3 meal for my wife. We'll definitely be thinking about those sandwiches, wings, and Brussels sprouts until we're back, and I don't think that'll take very long.

Most of our group had been to Cheddar's before, and we were all excited to try some new menu items. Overall, the food was a hit. The onion rings came out hot and fresh, the lemon pepper chicken was especially juicy, and the white fish ended up being another favorite at the table. That said, there were a few service missteps that took away from the experience. Two people in our group ordered the white fish blackened, but only one plate came out as requested--the other was pretty bland. When our server eventually checked in (a bit later than expected), we mentioned the mix-up. His response was pretty casual, something along the lines of there just being less spice, and he didn't offer to fix it or have it remade. We ended up just swapping a fillet between the two plates so each person had one blackened and one not. It worked, but it felt like something that should have been handled differently. There were also a few moments where drinks went empty for a while, and our server wasn't around much. At one point, a manager actually stepped in and refilled waters for the table, which we appreciated. Overall, the service felt very laid-back...but to the point where it came across like he didn't care. One bright spot worth mentioning: my salad came out before the meal with a lot more cheese on top than I expected. As I was picking some off onto a side plate, a manager happened to notice and stopped to ask if I'd prefer a new salad without cheese. I explained it wasn't a mistake, just more than I wanted, but I really appreciated the attention and the offer to make it right.

Suffice to say (before reading my long review) it was not on par with the L street location! The staff were definitely new and learning the menu, but that is to be expected any time a new place is freshly opened. Our server, Blake, was nice though and was learning fast. But with a few other servers, there was one thing that did not come about from being a server in a new restaurant. We were eating and could CLEARLY hear the staff around the corner talking loudly and cursing left and right. I am not a prude about language but it's just not something you see every day at a restaurant with families/kids dining. The size of the restaurant seems a little smaller than the L street location, too. That may be a psychosomatic thing when trying a different location of a place you know, but I definitely felt more cramped. The food is on par with the OG spot, so no complaints there. My usual is the bourbon glazed salmon with the cheesy broccoli on the side. So it was just as tasty as the other location, but I think I'll stick to the L street one mostly going forward.

Our server, Peter, was outstanding--attentive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu, which made the experience even better. To top it off, the team surprised us with two glasses of champagne to celebrate, which was a really thoughtful touch and set the tone for the night. We started with the wagyu meatball and the tallow candle--both were absolutely phenomenal and a perfect way to kick things off. For our mains, I had the filet, and my girlfriend ordered the stuffed chicken. The filet was hands down one of the most tender, perfectly cooked steaks I've ever had. We paired everything with the brussel sprouts and crack fries, and both sides were just as impressive as the entrees. We finished with the cheesecake, and honestly, it was the best cheesecake I've ever had--no debate. I highly, highly recommend Pivot Prime.
