The people there are nice enough, it's mall food. But just soo slow. It's agonizing to have to suffer thru the wait

So before you go spending your hard earned money for food at this place be prepared to speak up for what you want over and over and over again. Not only did I tell them I'm lactose intolerant but, I had to get the attention of the cook to personally ask him to change utensils to cook my food seeing as the ones he planned to use were covered in cheese. Then while waiting for hot French fries, the lazy girl, comes over opens my food box, grabs the cup, fills it about half full with fries and dumps it in. I paid $10 for a SMALL sandwich and fries... the least you can do is ensure I get my entire order of French fries! What a rip off!!! Note to self... don't eat at this Charley's unless I plan to challenge EVERY aspect of what they do which sucks! read more

This review will consist of several parts: 1) I gave my 15 year old son my credit card to order some lunch while I sat in the Food Court - they did not ask for ID or question the fact that he doesn't look like a Mitzi. I tend to do this to determine what would happen if my CCs were ever stolen. Needless to say, it could be used at Charles without question. 2) The wait time for our food was not bad, at all. Taking into account that this is a Saturday afternoon 12pm. The line was not long. 3) Son ordered a Chicken Philly and Ultimate Fries for me. The fries were not bad given this is a food court in the mall. My son says the fries were freshly made, before his eyes....thats a + 4) the sandwich isn't bad, fresh crisp lettuce and plump tomatoes - how I can't stand wilted veggies on my sandwiches. So I ate here yesterday 12/27/19 for the first time and sandwich was actually good. However, today was a horrible experience. I actually watched my food being made and I would never eat here again. I also do not recommend eating here due to the way they handle food. I wish I would have observed yesterday before eating. There was one worker when I went in around 830p. I gave the cashier my order and she immediately started making my food. First she did not wash her hands before putting on her gloves after receiving my debit card. Also, before putting on gloves she put her hands to her face as if she was going to sneeze. After putting on gloves she grabbed the meat and veggies and put them on the grill. She went to put bread in the toaster and after went over to the trash can and threw some plastic inside pushing it down into the trash. She walked over to the area where the sandwiches are made transferred pickles into a different container with the same gloves on that she used to pushed down the trash. When she touched the lettuce, I immediately asked for a refund. I could not take watching her anymore. I think employees who work in food should take mandatory food handling classes because this was totally unsanitary and unacceptable. I cannot wait to report to cooperate. read more

Now I know sometimes orders can be messed up by my thing is we took it all the way home which is on the other side of town and the phone numbers listed are not working ! I'm highly upset the number needs to be correctly posted ! This is the UPDATE! So, I passed by Charleys today to go to a new eating area, and I found that white kid I was talking about in my first review. He is such a nice, hardworking person. He was cleaning the place all alone, and doing all the duties he had to do, and also helping people. Now he has great customer service! He is tall,white and has glasses. His name is Anthony! I asked one of the girls who is that tall black dude at the register the other day, and she said his name was "James"! The lead/person in charge at the moment is extremely incapable of doing customer service or leading a team. I understand that covid is a stressful time especially for small business owners and their employees, but we will definitely not be returning to this location because the lead is so rude!!! He closed my box aggressively and then threw it on the counter. Not only was he berating me for not letting the person who took my order me that I wanted ranch in my chicken california (which already comes w it). He told me he couldn't do it because the box was already closed. In addition to yelling at me, he was humiliating his employee in front of everyone!! He was literally threatening to fire him and hire someone "better"... It was extremely hard to watch and I feel SO bad for his employee. that causes real life trauma that isn't so easily fixed. he was doing everything, from taking orders and cooking, and getting everyone's drinks and still getting yelled at. There was a really rude customer who is supposedly a regular in front of me in line. First, she took a very long time to order and then when a discount she thought should be given wasn't being offered the employee ringing her up (Mercedes) explained to her multiple times they didn't offer that discount. She was very patient with her throughout the whole experience even when the woman was rude. I got my food in a timely manner and enjoyed my experience at this Charley's. So this evening I went to Charlie's subs in the Fairfield Mall. When I went to pay my card declined (no I was not broke) immediately my bank called to verify this transaction as soon as I got off the phone a lady cooking my food in the picture refused to take my cash I had no idea what was going on. I had a friend with me my friend tells me she gave our food away and I asked the lady why she was denying me service and she said "because I can" I said "I'm sorry I didn't do anything to you, my bank for some reason suspected weird activity and I needed to approve the transaction so my card would not get placed on hold." I took this picture because this lady had no right to refuse me service there was no sign posted and my friend even told her that I had cash to pay and she said "oh well I gave your food away" Her name is Elizabeth and I will be calling their corporate office. I was really hurt tonight. Mall security pulling my friend and I to the side like we were gonna start something. They also told us we were not allowed to take pictures in the mall but meanwhile people taking pictures right behind us. I don't mean no disrespect to anyone I am not that person. This lady was in the wrong and clearly mad about something else and decided to take it out on me. I have worked in fast food and in retail and still deal with customers daily I would NEVER treat someone like that. I didn't step out of line, I even let people behind me go so I can get my card situation handled. I want everyone to know what they are dealing with before eating here...I give the food an amazing rating but I will no longer attend here and by another post that I put up so many other people will not go here either. Customers service is a hard job to be in and people need to understand that because of people like me who buy stuff from these places are the reason these people have jobs. Please think twice about going here and if you do be prepared for ELIZABETH to be extremely rude and the other manager only to want to talk because we said we were calling corporate. I am unhappy with my service because there was a large sign advertising their special which was fries with cheese and bacon and a drink for $4.99. When we went to pay the cashier, Mercedez, rang us up but would not give us the drink. When we showed her what the sign says she said it shows up different on her cash register and we would have to talk to her manager, who was not there. So we had to pay for another drink just to have a drink. This is not cool. Restaurants should always honor what the advertisement says and fix the cash register later. I went to order my food and realized that I left my wallet in my car. The manager Elizabeth was very rude to me and made a sarcastic comment about how I should of been more responsible in making sure I had my wallet. I said I will be back if she can hold off on making my food. She said its already cooking. I said I didn't want it to be cold. She said then I should hurry. I couldn't believe what she was saying. Worse customer service ever. I was 3rd in line and i waited 15minutes. Then the cashier took almost another 10min to take my order. There were about 5 workers behind the counter and they didn't even start my sandwich as there were no orders on the grill as I stood there waiting, but there were some old fries sitting there under the warmer. Workers were rude and lazy. The only one actually working was this little Filipino girl, who was taking orders, cooking the meat, then making the sandwich. This is the best place to eat a pepperoni steak sandwich. I had at least 6 of those in the last 3 months. The food usually takes a long while but the taste of the food is one of the best at the solano mall. One time I ordered their limited time offer sandwich: BBQ sandwich. The chicken was good but eating it was sloppy and the BBQ ruined the bread. I won't recommend ordering any sandwiches with BBQ sauce. I would recommend getting the reg size sandwich and only get the large one if your sharing with someone or really hungry. There fries and drink combo is ok. It seems like they have new staff everytime I eat there. The staff is well trained and dont mind working there. The food is pricy but good to eat every few weeks. read more

Sadly, manager needs training with customer service. I found multiple (~12) small pieces of plastic in my Philly cheese steak.. yes I bothered to check through every meat/cheese crevice after pulling out the first one from my mouth. My friend confirmed that it was indeed: pieces of plastic. My friend decided to tell the girl putting the toppings on who said "oh it must be the banana peppers." Later because I didn't think she told her crew to check her ingredients out, I decided to go up and tell the cashier. The male cashier went to the back so I got the topping girl... who turned out to be the manager and I showed her some pieces of plastic. Her response was "oh that shouldn't happen" no it shouldn't topping girl slash manager. I said I wanted to show her so she could tell her staff and she said her banana pepper spiel. After I told her I found it mostly in the cheese and meat section she said "oh yeah we open plastic packages to get the cheese." then silence. Although eventually she said she would tell the other manager and that she agreed it wasn't a good thing, I hope she took the time to look through her inventory and what she would be serving as well as notifying the rest of her crew. read more

Ok, this place is awful. First, I stood at the register for close to 10 minutes because the cashier was new and didn't know what she was doing. That didn't bother me, but when the guy behind the grill was finally freed up to help, he was insanely rude, short with me and over charged the hell out of me! The manager that came out after was even worse. She threw cold cheese on my salad (my somehow 20 dollar salad) and told me it was somehow my fault because of how I ordered it, even though I've ordered the same thing a million times at various locations without a single problem. I tried explaining why I was over charged and what I had actually ordered, but no one would listen and I basically got stuck playing double for my food, which really sucked. I could've made a scene, but I chose not to because there were kids in line, but this staff really needs to do something about their customer service before this locations goes under. It's so sad to see under-staffing issues because so many things can go wrong because of it. This place gets a huge thumbs down and sadly I will never go back, no matter how hungry I am. read more
