Sorry it didn't live up to other reviews. We had mixed platters of seafood. Husband had Brian's seafood platter with crab legs, filet of cajungish, and steamed shrimp. Crab legs were very hard to eat. Meat stuck in shell, barely could get them out. Fish was no name fish. Okay. Not great. Boiled shrimp was seasoned with old bay. That was good. The cocktail sauce was congealed telling me it was put in tiny containers yesterday, no spice or horseradish. Disappointing. My fried fish was okay, again just a no name type of bland ehitefish with tinge of iodine taste. Mini Crab cakes dry, claims were run of the mill frozen then fried, not fresh. Fried shrimp okay. We had a party of nine show up and we're seated immediately. We had no problems with their socially distancing and the staff was wearing masks. The menu and food were good. Nothing great. All you can eat crab legs!!! The legs are kind of small. Started off with one pound and just kept upgrading. Me and my friend must have ate 6 pounds at least. Don't eat the sides if you want more room for crab . Our waiter Brandon was very attentive! He checked in on us often. I did have one of the garlic roasted potatoes to taste it. I would recommend that this place cuts the potatoes to let that garlic butter and seasoning soak in. Try the green beans with hot sauce. DISCLAIMER: Steamed snow crab legs are my favorite food so my review will be super biased because they serve these at this restaurant. Coming from New Jersey (and probably the same for most parts of the country), you can't get snow crab legs at just any restaurant. Not only do they always have them here, but they're damn good here! They sometimes have them for a really good deal as a special and/or combo with peel-and-eat shrimp. It was more than enough food as a combo! I am writing this review from my hotel bed because I am weighed down with butter and crab meat. Only my fingers and witty mind can move right now. And one eye. Ok, the crab legs awwwwweeee those terribly delicious succulent meaty legs snapped open and let forth their yummy ass sweetness it's almost sexy (if my mind could process the butter faster I would have made a better analogy ). The BUTTA' sweet jolly fatty goodness with a hint of garlic and salt, yummy liquid gold. I had green beans and garlic potatoes but I can't remember them after tasting the legs. Sorry. Needless to say. It was awrsome and the staff didn't even laugh at me after I spilled an entire bowl if HOT butter on my tummy and leg. Our waitress was awesome well they all were really. We've been here previously and it was excellent so that is why we came back. I tried the buffalo chicken salad tonight which says it is chicken tenders served over mixed greens on the menu. It absolutely was neither. It was cut up frozen chicken sandwich served over old parts of iceberg lettuce. Just have the server tell you the salads suck. After looking at reviews of what's close by, this place was noted for their snow crab. I've honestly have never had snow crab as bad as it was here...and again- wHat I've had is from Minnesota. We don't have any ocean fresh kind of sea food without it being shipped in. The snow crab tastes way over cooked, dried out and dirty to me. On top of it, the bill was extremely overpriced for what we ended up eating. The hush puppies were good...after we sent them back The first time because they were still frozen inside! 15 minute wait for 5 people on a Tuesday night in mid July. Not too bad. The menu is definitely for seafood lovers. A few options for land lovers. Our server was nice and timely. Food was hot. We were not charged a fee for sharing a meal ($30). Cajun shrimp pasta was bland. The crab legs were over cooked so were hard to remove from the shell. There is one bad point, so let's get it out of the way first. The space is too close, making social distancing almost impossible. Perhaps takeout would be a better option. Now for all the good points: EVERYTHING we had was delicious! My husband had a perfectly cooked hamburger with all the trimmings, and was so large he could barely finish it. It came with perfect fries, some of which I had to crunch too, and loved them. I'm picky about fries. Actually we're both picky about food. I admit it; he doesn't. My plate had delicious baked fish, lightly seasoned, a solid half pound of shrimp with Old Bay seasoning, and a lovely, delicious cluster of snow crab. (Talk about high protein!) Yes, I felt almost too stuffed to add a few fries, but I'm not a fan of Cole slaw, so I traded it to John for some fries. He loves the stuff, and pronounced it very good. Our delicious meals were accompanied by Heinz ketchup, the only one I've ever thought was fit to eat, and delicious tartar sauce, drawn butter, plenty of lemons & cocktail sauce, all in generous proportions. We can wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend the Charlie Horse! Be sure to check it out! (Plenty of televisions too, if you're interested.) This last is just a reminder to a couple of patrons there that afternoon: Medical and surgical details are not very appetizing dinner conversation topics. Unhappily, there was a woman with a voice that was sharp enough to do glass engraving sitting within very easy hearing distance, who did not seem to share that opinion. It is great everytime we eat there. The service is some of the best around. Crab legs are great as well as the sides. I don't think anyone in our party has ever had even one complaint. They go beyond the call to make diners happy and comfortable.... We drive from Sanford, look up how far that is if you don't know. I found this place the last time I was in Ormond Beach. I have been here twice now. It is very informal and fun! The shrimp and the fish are excellent. I had a salad with blue cheese dressing which was made in-house. Everything I have eaten here was very good. I do recommend eating at the Charlie Horse. read more

At a hefty 65$ price tab I would've been disappointed. The crab legs had no flavor to me, were dried out, and were barely hot. I got the one pound side and that was enough. Though I did enjoy the stuffed shrimp. The service was wonderful though and if he willing to try it again. The corn nuggets were suggested by staff and the table next to me loved them but I didn't. I'm highly confused by all the fantastic reviews of this place. We tried it after a long day of traveling and weren't impressed with the food or drinks. Service was mildly disappointing as our waitress seemed to want us to leave. Another waitress wanted to clear our table and tried to take my glass of water (that was almost full) away until I specifically asked her to leave it since I was actively drinking it. I ordered the red potatoes as a side and although they tasted okay, I was literally given 3 small potatoes...I basically left still hungry. I searched yelp for a sports at and saw Charlie Horse was #1, called my friends to meet there. We had the BEST time!!! We sat at the bar, and Logan took care of us all night!!! Haley was also great!!
