Went in with a broken nail and kindly asked if they could fix it. The lady at the front said they wouldn't fix it cuz I got it done somewhere else. I asked why she said "policy". I said pleaseeeee I really just need this one nail fixed and I will pay $25 dollars (a broken nail might be $5 or $10) . I was in desperate need so I was willing to over pay. There were only two ladies in there both not doing anything. She said again we don't do that and I said you will have a customer for life and again she said no. I walked out extremely frustrated and upset this is the STUPIDEST thing I've ever heard of!!! Review is for dip nails. I have been getting dip nails for 5 years, they always last at least 4 weeks for me and never once have I had them chip, peel or crack so that is my first issue with this salon. My ring finger (so not exactly a finger that sees a lot of action picking stuff up or opening soda cans!) chipped within a week. And yesterday (week 2) , it chipped again. Maybe that second chip is because I filed it, maybe not. But regardless, I'm rocking a crappy look now! The day I went in (11:30), it was about 85* out and they had the doors open/no A/C when I got there. I though maybe it was broken....it happens so I was understanding. Then, just before I wrapped up, they closed the door and turned on the air....what the hell?!?! I went in before work so was fully dressed up and left a sweaty, hot mess because they're too cheap to run their A/C!! The dip is nice & thin so no chunky, goopy nails. But the edges were not filed straight/even (like I'm seriously talking angled to one side!) on about 6 of my nails and the dip along the sides and at my cuticles was not cleaned up so almost every nail has visible raised ridges. Julie is not doing this place any favors. I walked in as a potential new client, and requested the upgraded manicure. After the luke-warm towel was wrapped around my hands, I took them off when they cooled off. She rushed over and began berating me for "taking them off early." Her vehement anger was shocking. Tears stung my eyes. I apologized for upsetting her. No other words were spoken by me. The polish was applied sloppily, and a simple round-shaped nail eluded her. I could go on but why bother. I started going to this nail salon about a month ago because it is conveniently located in Downtown Summerlin just right beside Macy's front entrance. Appointment set within minutes of messaging the owner in Yelp. Been with this sweet lady named Bella for both times I went and she has been very great. Did my nails with efficiency and grace. I so love my glitter nails **heart**. The previous gel (sorry, no pic!) she did NEVER chipped and mind you, I'm a nurse so I wash and sanitize my hands gazillion times a day. I only had to replace it because it had been there for 3+ weeks and my nails have grown. 1 star short because both times I have not been given a transparent breakdown of the check (maybe because I did not ask) but yeah, I am willing to spend for quality so I just paid and hurried off. Hard pass. This place is very conveniently located in Downtown Summerlin, but you definitely pay a higher cost for that convenience. The people who run the shop (a husband and wife) are not very accommodating or personable, but they do have high quality nail polish. I stopped in with a friend and we were each getting a pedicure. They asked us to pick out our colors as usual and after sitting down in the chair I showed my stylist (the husband owner) that I wanted to use a different color for each toe. He said something in Vietnamese to his wife and then we had this exchange: Owner Lady: $5extra. Me: ...but it's the same amount of paint. OL: $5 extra. Me: I don't understand, is it because you have to physically open more than one bottle? I can open them for him. OL: $5 Extra Me: Fine, I'll just do 2 colors then. OL: $5 Extra if you use more than one color. Me: Why? OL: because it's $5 extra. Me: Ok, no paint then. Just do the pedicure and don't paint them. Is it $5 cheaper? OL: No, regular price. Me: You JUST told me it's extra for more colors, I'm saying NO colors, how is there no discount? By this time, everyone in the shop was listening and I'm literally laughing out loud at the situation. Finally, I said "whatever, just paint them. I'll pay the extra $5." The woman who actually did my nails was different than the owner husband guy, and she was super nice - so I tipped her very well afterwards and do not plan to come back here. A side note: I've gotten multiple colors at MANY nail shops and never have they charged me extra. This place will nickel and dime you - there are way too many option for a nail place in town to waste your money here. Place looked clean, but the owner (not sure if she was really the owner) had a sour face to begin with, was rude and seemed impatient when I was asking about the ombre gel colors. She wasnt trying to understand what I was asking her and was getting short with me so I said forget it, I'll get my gel mani elsewhere. I just had them remove my current gel mani. The lady who was doing my husband's pedi apologized for the "owners" attitude. I had said something to them after I told the owner that I'll get my mani elsewhere, and the lady working on my hubby's feet apologized. That rude lady needs to find another job that's not in customer service because she certainly has POOR customer service. She doesn't deserve our business. I came in with my mom and this guy named Dennis had a complete attitude the whole time he was doing my nails he cut me multiple times and made my nails all bumpy and not smooth on top of that I asked for a specific nail design and instead of telling me that he couldn't do it he decided to make it look terrible and then charge me $120 for everything. I was charged $40 for my 3 year old to get her nails and toes painted, where they didn't even look or speak to her the whole time. The girl actually had an attitude and yelled at her when she moved her hand too. I had specifically asked if they did children's manicures and pedicures and they said yes. They had us sit with a fan with no instructions after having her just sit without moving at all for 20 minutes in a chair while they gave me a 5 minutes manicure that they charged full price for. We sat under those fans for another 15-20 minutes and it barely dried them. A UV light was supposed to come on according to the sign posted and never did. We also had to ask to get some mess ups fixed on myself and my daughter, who still had nail polish on her hands from the first time she moved (she was too scared and didn't move again after that). My own nail had a crack and was messed up as well. We got our nails done only a few hours ago and both our hands are already chipped. I even saw the woman mix some liquid into the very old nail polish my daughter chose to make it more full. I want a refund and will be calling tomorrow. This is the most I've ever been charged for manicures and pedicures and the worst service and nails I have ever gotten. Totally disappointed because it was my daughters first time getting her nails done and she was so excited, because we got to spend time together after her brother was getting more attention the last two weeks due to a T1 diabetes diagnosis . We were 15min late and they still took us right in without judgement. They actually even called to confirm we were still coming and were very polite on the phone and gave us directions to the Macy's in case we were lost. They also gave me a free water bottle upon arrival when I asked for it. My pedicure was 40 and my husbands (no polish) was 25. $65 total seemed steep for a basic pedicure and men's pedi, but they were very polite and professional the whole time so I didn't mind (I'm also from CA so maybe this is a normal rate for NV). The pedi water was HOT (which I love) and the massage (while not very strong) was long enough and he took the time and made sure I enjoyed it. My polish came out good (not the best I've ever had) and shape was good as well. I would give this place five stars except for the smell - it did not smell like nail products or chemicals, but I almost would've preferred that. It smelled VERY strongly like flowers or perfume or a fake smell of candy. I dislike those type of smells to begin with, but it actually gave me a headache how strong the smell was. Maybe when it warms up a bit they can leave the door open and get some fresh air! I also did not appreciate the fluorescent lights in the ceiling. If people are coming for a relaxing pedi the last thing you wanna stare up and see is glaring lights. They should turn those off or put onto a dimmer. Made pedicure appointments last week for today (weds 8/18 11:00 am) for both my daughter and myself. When I made the appointments I was very clear that it was for two people, myself and my daughter for a bonding day before college. I even asked before making the appointment to make sure they had 2 staff available to take care of us and they assured me they would. We walked in at 11:00 and was told by the front desk girl that I only made one appointment and she could do one of us while the other person watched and waited for their turn. Yuck!! Zero stars! I have been here twice and the second time was the reminder why I don't like this place. The second time I went was because it's close to where friends live and we needed our nails done ASAP. First I wanted a simple gel manicure and the tech was soooo pushy kept trying to convince me I needed the $50 dip nails that doesn't come with a manicure, unless you pay extra. I stood my ground for the gel. The place is NOT CLEAN. They never clean the ultra ray or the desks. I was trying not to be grossed out since my friend was paying. Remembering why I don't like this place. Well, I got my nails done on Dec. 31st and they all lifted within one week. Mind you, I have had several gel manicures and this has only happened both times I went to this place, another reminder why I don't like this place. Getting my nails done for my cousins wedding! I highly recommend the chrome nails I called ahead and there was little to no wait as well.

I called at 1:57pm for 2 pedicures (1 being a child) they said they can do them at 3:30. We arrived at 3:20 to be told there was an hour wait. The person that told me that, I explained that I called she then proceeded to tell me that I did not call. I had to actually take my phone out to show her I did indeed call them. She seemed like she didn't care. I will be letting all my friends and family know of the customer service that I received. I drive accross town from aliante area. I would give them no stars if I could. It's a shame that they treat potential customers this way. read more

My daughter was in town for a few days and wanted to get manicures with dip powder done at Charming Nails upon the advice from a friend. [Jun 20] First impressions were great - the salon looked clean, smelled good, and there was nice, relaxing music playing. We both got our nails done, and as we spoke about it later, noticed several things that were just a bit 'off' or even 'weird'.... when I sat near my daughter, I was told to move to the opposite side, then was left sitting for a while before anyone came in (while another technician sat with her back to me); nobody spoke much -not even with each other- just motions were used (example: my technician asked me if I wanted my nails trimmed by doing a scissor motion with his fingers); one employee got out her lunch, sat down, and proceeded to eat - and very loudly.... All these things, like a said, were just unsettling; I didn't give it much thought, and we were happy enough with our nails. But the worst was yet to come... My daughter went back to school in Utah a couple of days later, then started complaining of a sore finger. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but when I was in Utah nine days after our manicures, I looked at her finger.[Jun 29] It was very swollen, red, and she was hurting. I thought it looked infected and suggested she go to the doctor. The doctor had to pierce her finger and drain the puss. The doctor said that it was in fact infected, and most likely MRSA contracted from the nail salon. Upon the advice from an attorney, I called the salon to speak to a manager, to tell them what happened, and to get the contact information for their insurance carrier. The first time I called and asked for a manager [Jul 5], I was told there was no manager in at the time. I asked when they expected one to be in, or if there would be a manager there in the next couple of days - I was met with a very short and curt 'I don't know' and 'I have no idea'. Then she hung up before I could say anything else. The next day I tried a second time; again there was no manager in, and 'no idea' of when one would be in. This time I told the lady about the MRSA diagnosis, and asked if a manager would call me back. It has now been a week, and I have heard nothing. I am very disappointed with the Charming Nails salon. I expected great service - judging from the location in Downtown Summerlin and good referrals - but I feel that the employees are not at all friendly or professional; and now the cleanliness of the salon is of big concern. All I wanted from Charming Nails is some acknowledgement or apology, and maybe a refund for the manicure -and possibly our medical expenses. But nothing. No acknowledgment. Not even a call back. Walked in for a dip manicure. The nail tech picked the dip off my nails!!! No one has ever PICKED the dip of my nails. The place is small with a lot of chairs and stations making it feel even smaller, it is a clean though! They charged $60 for a dip manicure, $20 more than anyplace I've been to. A week later a nail has already cracked and I have dip on my cuticle so it's already lifting. They also don't honor any discount for checking in on Yelp or Google which they advertise. read more

So i this has been my usual spot since moving to Vegas, but it's about time I found a better spot. I usually only come for the pedicures because they're close to my house and it's an alright pedi. But today I came in to get a full acrylic set, which in the pamphlet I had at home stated it was $30, I even brought my OWN nail polish and was told it would be $40. So I paid for them to use my nail polish, okay? He starts to work on my nails just trims them down, then started doing the acrylics. Didn't cut back my cuticles or trim the skin around my nail till at the end when I finally asked him. Everywhere I've been pushes the cuticle back so it naturally looks like the nail is growing, and not the nail sitting on top of my grown out cuticle. Finally I pay and leave just to get out in the sun and have a good look and see that my thumb nail is completely crooked?? Last time I'll be visiting this salon, time for an upgrade. read more
