This location has been consistently good. The chicken is flavorful and juicy. It's simple and tasty! I wouldn't ever really eat inside - they just have a bar area, but they have a few outdoor tables I would sit at. We usually order a mama chicken meal for a family of 4 with a salad and have plenty. Calling it in is awesome especially for busy nights - they have the order ready quickly. Definitely a go-to chicken spot for us. read more

The best chicken I have ever had hands down! Used to get the Papa Charo, because the Mama is too small, but now get the perfectly portioned Moe's Charo. I have been coming to this location for about 15 years! Seal Beach is by far the best location out of all the stores. Living out in Upland, I crave this food every so often and, since the Claremont location closed, make the trek out to Seal Beach when I can and enjoy the day with my family. The chicken is always great, got to go with the lemon-garlic-paprika! The rice is delicious and the beans are well-seasoned. My wife gets the quesadilla, which is very generous. My son loves the BRC burrito and can eat almost the whole thing (great deal at 3.99 with fries/rice and a drink). The salsas are also very delicious! The green salsa is perfect for dipping chips or adding to the quesadilla, and the original Charo Salsa is a must with the Chicken and Rice. Come back to Claremont! read more

went to order a 16- piece chicken meal this afternoon. bad customer services. I do not order there in person too often so I am not custom to the options I have for my meal. the lady at the register was being impatient and when I asked her to repeat the question she was not being very nice. and the store was not busy and she doesn't need to rush. I went with couple of small tupperwear for the sauce and salsa since the containers the store offers are too small and take up too many containers to get enough sauce and sals to feed 6 people. the staffs stared at me the whole time like i was stealing. horrible experience although i try to support local business. read more

This place used to be great. We really enjoyed it in the past. We have been eating Charo Chicken for almost 20 years. But, the quality has gone down hill, and the prices are very high. 12 pieces of chicken (including wings which don't have much of anything to eat) plus 2 very small sides was $34!! I ordered 2 family size sides of pinto beans and 2 family size sides of rice. The restaurant opens at 11 am, so at 10:55 am I called to ensure they would deliver on time. The woman on the phone assured it would be delivered right around 11 am. At 11:34 am I had to call again. The lady assured me it would be there shortly. The gentleman showed up at 11:47 am. The location is no more than 10 minutes from my office, had I known it was going to be 45 minutes late I would have driven over and picked it up. I had other things I needed to take care of, but those didn't get done since I had to keep checking up on the delivery anyways. I have ordered from them in the past and had no issues. OMG yes Charo Chicken! It's the way bomb! Oh yes we have came here many times after surfing! I have been coming to Charo Chicken for like 10-12 years and it is always amazing. The staff are nice and friendly and the girls that work the counter are so cute and are sweeter than the tasty chicken! And I mean tasty. Charo Chicken is the best. From the chicken burrito which is not quite as large at it used to be "hello" hint hint (please do not make it smaller). We are hungry after surfing! But honestly it is the best from the burrito to the chicken plate with lemon and garlic. It tingles your tongue and taste buds! so much that even though you are hungry it tastes so good you just want to keep chewing to get all that tasty flavor. OMG seriously! Hi, the chicken seemed okay, it was kinda late and maybe I was their last order, anyways, not like long ago when they first came to seal, seemed much better then. Anyway, my review is not based on the chicken, it probably had more to do with the delivery driver. I ordered 3 - 3piece meals, (three pieces of chicken each and some tortillas). After opening the delivered food, I noticed one of the boxes had spilled out the side and had a piece of chicken missing. Either the delivery guy spilled the meal, or ate the chicken piece, it was very upsetting, actually gross !! I may go back, but I will not order delivery from there again. It actually makes me not want to get delivery from anybody, especially not 3rd party delivery drivers like the driver that brought the food to my house. read more

I usually love their chicken but this time I never received it. I waited for over an hour and a half. I finally called charo chicken and questioned about my order. I was told that I never placed the order! She acted like there was nothing she could do. I explained several times that I had placed the order and my credit card was charged. I don't usually get upset but this time I did. I had explained that I was told by text from the delivery that it had been delivered ??I could could continue but what for?? I had to call grub hub and deal with another employee who said all she could do is give me a credit to be used later. Charo chicken is a hop (and a skip) away from the house, and is open pretty late (til 10pm) so once in a while we split the large chicken tostada plate. Comes with perfectly charbroiled bbq chicken, beans, rice, lettuce, salsa, etc etc. For under 8 bucks, dannnng that's some delicious and filling food! It's an easy dinner for two, and pretty healthy at that. Total win-win situation. Granted, the insides of the place aren't that trendy/pretty and outside seating isn't the most romantic since it's at the end of the Main St. strip, but the food makes up for it all. We usually get it to go so we can eat more comfortably at home, and end up grabbing handfuls of random salsas from the salsa bar to compliment the meal. Parking can get difficult, they have a small lot in the back but if you're lucky you can find street parking nearby away from the pier side. read more

Just thinking about the chicken makes my mouth water. This place is a solid choice for charbroiled chicken. I've been here countless times and never had a bad experience. You can watch them grill the chicken right in front of you. I like to make little chicken burritos when I get a side of rice (which is also very tasty!) So ever since i was little, i would bike with my family along the riverbend all the way to seal beach. We would ride the coast about a mile down and end up at our final destination.. CHARO CHICKEN!! this is by far, the best reward after a 10+ mile bike ride. fresh tortillas with some mexican rice and charo chicken. aghhh! the charo chicken that's a few miles from my place isn't as good at this one. this place doesn't even compare to any of those other chicken places. we always eat family-style soo it's pretty cheap. we always end up with leftovers too! don't forget to snag a few of those mint candies!! read more

I love Charo Chicken. Way better alternative to that crazy chicken fella that is all over the place. The dining room smells heavenly of roasting chicken and the anticipation of that moist juicy bird is divine. They have a good variety of menu items and the food is decently price if a little high for what it is but I would pay the premium for a more premium product. My one gripe is that the place is a little dirty but I never eat there, Seal Beach is too beautiful to eat indoors anyway. Bottom line, good chicken. read more

Because this Seal Beach location is THE only place you should eat Charo Chicken - unless you DON'T like eating flavorful seasoned and moist bird with a generous dousing of the "Top Secret Sauce of Deliciousness."
