Chopped Spinach Salad
Heather M.

We knew the Chart House already being from Boston so this was a lovely little treat. Brandon was our server and he was also Bostonian brethren so we had a blast with him! He was excellent, as was our food. My lobster bisque hit the spot. The salads were a great size and very filling. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a huge fish tank in the middle of the restaurant that's so much fun to watch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They give you a link to read about all the fish in it too! Fascinating. Definitely a fabulous choice if you're in the Fremont area.

Such a good steakhouse. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambulance is Beautiful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]..Our waitress Ashley was so nice and always checked in us. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in Vegas. CHEFS KISS!

Chart house is located in Golden Nugget Downtown Freemont Street. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has an open airy concept with the most amazing very large Fish Tank in the middle of the restaurant with exotic salt water fish in there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is so amazing and relaxing at the same time to watch them swimming around[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . The menu is not huge but big enough to have a hard time making a decision on what you want because it is all so good . We ordered Shrimp cocktail as an appetizer to start . Hubby ordered Prime rib and I ordered a Lobster tail with Veggies and potatoes. OMG. Delicious. I'm so glad my husband surprised me tonight on a date to Chart house. It was amazing

Prime Rib - Chart House Cut 10 Oz

I've been to the Chart House before, but that's in longboat Key Florida. Going to the one in Vegas at the Golden Nugget was a completely different and underwhelming experience. Let me start first with the positives. Our server, Danielle was a delight and very sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In addition, it was great ambiance given the aquarium that's right in the middle of the restaurant[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Finally, we also enjoyed our seasonal spritzes that they were serving that were very refreshing that came with some fried shrimp, which was the only edible thing we had Now the bad. The food. Before I begin, in the restaurants defense, this is where you typically go for seafood, but we weren't necessarily in the mood for seafood. Rather my wife was in the mood for a steak and I was in the mood for prime rib, which I had before at the Florida location that was cooked perfectly. Ummm... not so much here. I asked for a medium rib prime rib, and 10 minutes later Danielle came out and said all they could offer me was medium, which I found curious. What I ended up getting, taste wise (visually it looked medium) was closer to medium well and it was just tasteless from a flavor profile standpoint, and not something I could even finish halfway through. My wife's New York strip was no different. She asked for medium rare and she got medium well and the flavor profile just wasn't there whatsoever. This was a part of a larger underwhelming, Vegas trip, where we tried a dozen new restaurants we hadn't tried in Vegas before and only three passed the test. Charthouse here in Vegas was part of the other nine. :(

An applewood smoked old fashioned BOMB

Great service, thank you Danielle! Awesome drinks! Loved the smoked apple wood old fashioned! My husband enjoyed the NY steak and my sea bass was "ok" I ordered it grilled with butter and it was a tad bit too fishy! It's supposed to be a very mild fish... a bit disappointing.

I'm a fan. If nothing else, for the fish tank. It's a great backdrop. Certainly beats just bottles of liquor. We came here for happy hour and I don't know. It's not as busy as I remember from a few years back. Maybe it's because they're doing some renovations nearby and a few other places seem closed in the Golden Nugget. Who knows. The bonus is that it was not crowded or noisy. Drinks were great. We shared a prime rib slider that was decent. Service was prompt and friendly. A great place to check out when downtown.

Our experience here was even better than anticipated! We started by sitting at the bar for happy hour, and enjoyed some delicious cocktails and the avocado shrimp cocktail appetizer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bartender was so sweet and friendly and we loved the view of the fish tank![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came back for dinner and were seated on the other side of the tank for dinner which was such a delight![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our sweet server made wonderful and honest recommendations for both drinks and dinner. We enjoyed the grilled iced shrimp, sea bass over lobster risotto and the sea bass with shrimp chefs feature. The food was delightful! Great experience and thrilled to go again!

Fried Calamari and Lettuce Wraps

We've been visiting the Chart House Happy Hour in the Golden Nugget for over a decade. It's now become so popular that people line up before the 4:00 pm opening on weekdays. We were fortunate to be first in line to get our seats at the bar. Happy Hour menu includes beer by the bottle, wine by the glass and a couple of special cocktails. The Blood Orange Margarita was on the happy hour menu but the bartender was gracious enough to make me a plain one instead. Food was very tasty. The fried calamari was more tempura-like so light and delicious with a few veggies included. Lettuce wraps were a little smaller than expected but came with three flavorful sauces. Maggie is a super bartender!

Caesar Salad With Salmon
Dathan P.

Conveniently located inside the Golden Nugget. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First, I'll start with the fish tank. Very relaxing to watch fish swim.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Originally, I ordered the Caesar salad with shrimp, but somehow they sent out salmon. I'm not a fish eater; however, I am glad I at least tried it as it was somewhat delicious. The server was apologetic and was going to send out the shrimp, but I declined. In the end, our server removed the price of the salmon which was a very nice gesture. Lots of menu items I would like to try in the future. Service was excellent.

We stopped in for desert and what a great choice. Key lime pie was divine. Very friendly staff and elegant ambiance. Fish wall was amazing. Great choice.

This location still has wonderful food and a interesting view of a massive aquarium. Once again, we had happy hour items. We shared muscles off the regular menu and calamari from the happy hour menu. Both were excellent. The presentation was perfect and the food was delicious.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Delicious food with a splendid view of the massive fish tank.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff are outgoing and friendly. There is a lunch menu but guests are allowed to order from the dinner menu which is outstanding. The calamari portion is huge and easily sharable with multiple people. The steaks are done perfectly and require zero enhancements to savor the flavor.

Excellent birthday dinner celebration! The food was awesome, and our server, Kiara was great and attentive! Highly recommend!

Ask the Community - Chart House

Do they accept walk-ins and what's the maximum that can be seated together?

They definitely accepted walk ins, but if it's a busy time you will be out of luck! I was by my self and they seated me right away. As far as group size when I was there I saw a large group of 10-14 people maybe, not sure about size limits though.

Do they have a kid's menu?

Yep. Get the kids prime rib! It is as big as the adult version, but comes with fries and costs half the price.

Anyone know when Chart House will reopen? Left a voice mail, but no response...

As of Sept 25, still no answer

Once I stepped foot inside and saw a completely packed house with an hour and a half wait and barely standing room at the bar, I knew it was worth whatever wait or process I had to go through. Ultimately I lucked out as an individual. I was able to snag a bar top seat pretty quickly and had I known then I was sitting down to what was going to be one of the best meals of my life, I would have been visibly more excited. Not only was the service absolutely top notch, the people and the regulars there were extremely friendly and outgoing. The vibe was perfect, a strange mix of a place that felt like it had been there for 200 years yet was somehow high energy and vibey. From a killer cocktail recommendation to one of the best steaks I've had in my life and coming from Oklahoma City, where I work a mile away from the stockyards and can get great quality fresh beef six ways from Sunday, that's saying a lot. I usually despise most things truffle but if I was forced to eat that truffle mac and cheese every day for the rest of my life I would consider it a life well lived. While I would have never ordered it on my own, a customer next to me recommended the porn star cocktail and I have to say it was also one of the most delicious things I've ever had in my life. Ten out of ten, top notch experience. Would recommend. Will be back every time I'm in Vegas, no questions asked.

The Steer became our favorite place to return to. We've tried the bone in ribeye a few times, the lobster, the filet, salmon, sea bass, and I believe the NY strip. I got the white fish one time because I wanted mixed veggies and they didn't have them as a separate side dish. I'm obsessed with the twice baked potatoes and hubby gets the broccoli without cheese, we typically share mushrooms and I've tried the Caesar a few times. My most recent visit was on July 1st to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. Our reservation was for 9:45 pm which made me nervous. Somehow the staff here can tolerate these late nights. They did not rush us and I felt like it was 8 pm and not after 10. I love how they always have a fun story about times long gone. This time we sat at Joe DiMaggio's second booth. He's the only star with 2 booths. You can look online for the story behind that. We've had the pleasure to engage with their sommelier several times. He always suggests something nice and we try a new wine. One time it was Silver Oak and on Wednesday it was a 2009 from Macaulay Vineyards. I made another reservation already because Golden Steer is in high demand. I believe we will come back for years to come.

My fiancé and I have been trying to get a table here for years, I'm glad we finally got a table July 3rd. I was disappointed the steak and lobster were not satisfactory. The lobster was very tough and chewy and I've had better steaks. Maybe we ordered the wrong cut of meat but it was just okay. I wouldn't spend 500 on a dinner here again because of the mid flavor steak and over cooked lobster. The sides were all great! And the best French onion soup I've ever had! We ordered dinner for two : 20oz Australian wagyu & lobster tail. (Australian wagyu is not the same as Japanese wagyu) Mac & cheese Vegas baked potato Cream corn Caesar Salad table side French onion soup We got butcher cut meatballs complimentary due to the wait for our table. Very nice surprise and the meatballs were great!

Kimmy and Xavier took great care of us throughout the evening. We saw Xavier most often, and he was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all of our questions. He also made our anniversary extra special by surprising us with a complimentary chocolate mousse cake topped with whipped cream and a glass of sparkling wine, which was a thoughtful gesture we truly appreciated. The standout of the meal was, without a doubt, the seafood tower. It was absolutely worth ordering. The generous portions of crab, lobster, and shrimp made it feel like a great value, especially since the crab was already out of the shell and the lobster was perfectly prepared and ready to enjoy. We also loved the mango and raspberry sorbets for dessert--they were incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. We brought our own bottle of wine and paid the $50 corkage fee. I also ordered the Black Cherry Margarita, which was delicious, while my husband enjoyed a glass of the Domaine Laroche Chablis. Unfortunately, the steak was just okay. We ordered it medium-rare, but it came out a bit overcooked. The wedge salad and French fries were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. We expected to spend around $500 for dinner, so the price itself wasn't the issue. We were simply hoping the quality would better match the cost. While we enjoyed parts of the meal--especially the seafood tower, desserts, and the wonderful service from Xavier and Kimmy--we left feeling that the overall dining experience didn't quite justify the price tag.

We did not originally plan on having a big meal or making a special visit. We simply wanted to sit somewhere nice, have a glass of champagne, and enjoy a quiet moment together. But once we stepped inside Smith & Wollensky, everything felt much better than expected. Sometimes the best dining experiences are the ones you do not plan too much. This was definitely one of those pleasant surprises. The atmosphere was beautiful. It had that classic American steakhouse feeling with warm lighting, sparkling glassware, and an elegant but comfortable setting. It felt upscale without being too formal, and it was the perfect place to sit with my mom and enjoy a relaxed conversation. We ordered champagne by the glass, and it was excellent. Sometimes champagne by the glass can feel a little flat or not cold enough, but this one was served very cold and the bubbles were still lively and fresh. The first sip was crisp, refreshing, and immediately made the moment feel special. My mom and I both really enjoyed it. The burrata cheese was absolutely delicious. It was soft, creamy, and fresh, with a rich but delicate flavor. When I cut into it, the texture was beautifully smooth, and the creaminess paired so well with everything else on the plate. I especially loved the fruit pairing. The brûléed orange and charred grapefruit added a bright, slightly sweet, and lightly bitter flavor that balanced the creamy burrata perfectly. The basil added freshness and brought the whole dish together. The ham served with the burrata was also excellent. Sometimes prosciutto or cured ham can be too salty and overpower the dish, but this one was not too salty at all. It had a nutty, savory flavor that went beautifully with the burrata. The creamy cheese, refreshing fruit, fresh basil, and savory ham were very well balanced. My favorite bite was with a little burrata on the crostini, some fruit, and a piece of the ham together. The crispy bread, creamy cheese, bright fruit, and savory ham all worked perfectly in one bite. We only came in for a glass of champagne, but this starter made the visit feel much more special. The service was also comfortable and professional. The staff was attentive without being overwhelming, and the pace felt relaxed. That kind of service makes a big difference, especially when you want to enjoy a nice moment without feeling rushed. This visit became a sweet memory with my mom. A cold glass of champagne with lively bubbles, delicious burrata, and ham that was savory but not too salty made the whole experience feel elegant and enjoyable. Sometimes a simple, unplanned stop turns into one of the best parts of the day. I would definitely come back again next time I am in the area. If you enjoy burrata cheese, I highly recommend this dish. We came in without high expectations, but left very impressed and very happy.
