We were at the Chart House for 3 hours last night. Many people around us came and went. We got appetizers in a fair amount of time. From that point on; it was a very long wait for everything except water. Chopped salad finally came; no taste and very little Dressing; if any. Then, more water and very long wait. Dinner came finally; it was ok. we waited on dessert for so long; we really didn't eat it. Then, finally got our bill. Our friend talked to the manager about this; he actually had nothing to say. The food was ok. The three hour wait was not ok. When everyone else was receiving their food while we waited; it was just wrong. Upscale restaurant with a nice view. My wife ordered a strawberry daiquiri. They served her a white drink, and then they brought out some strawberry syrup. She mixed it on her own. Epic fail. The restaurant deducted for the drink. I was torn between the Black & Blue swordfish and the prime rib. Waiter recommended the prime rib. I ordered prime rib, medium rare. The prime rib looked great. But it was really tough cutting and chewing. The waiter took it back to the kitchen. Prime rib was raw. Manager came over to apologize and offer another prime rib. It was amazing! But, How do you put raw meat on a customer's plate? If I wasn't on vacation, I would have brought the tough prime rib home to my neighbor's pit bull. read more

This place is wonderful. I've had some conflicting experiences, which is why I give it 4 stars and not 5. Overall, however, the mixture of good food and great atmosphere won me over. I've been here twice. The first time I ordered great food. I got some kind of steak pasta. It was delicious. My sister got a salad and found a spider in it. This was the only negative experience I've had at this place. The food seems fresh, and I'm not saying that's an excuse for what happened, but an explanation for this gross oversight perhaps. Nothing in the reviews made me think this kid of thing happened often. And the restaurant seemed very clean otherwise. It was my sisters birthday and she got a custom menu with her name on it. It was sweet. I went back again years later for happy hour and had a wonderful experience. I double checked all my food... no baby spiders. But the food was EXCELLENT. We had fried calamari, sliders, fries... We were able to get a table full of appetizers due to the low happy hour prices. And this place became one of my favorite places to get drinks. Food was quite delicious (I had the steak) and the portions were a good size. We went there for a 90th birthday and they customized our menu to have the birthday girl's name on it. That was a nice touch. The waitress was there to cater to our every need and the atmosphere was a bit loud, but not stuffing loud. There was also a nice view of the water. The best chain restaurant in the Melbourne Beach area. The service is excellent and the food is good,especially if you stay with the seafood. Please note name, Chart House....Our server Brianna was very pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu items and attentive, but not so much so as to be intrusive. The menu remains the same as far as appetizers and would suggest changes periodically. My wife ordered the coconut shrimp with three dipping sauces and a fried rice paper garnish which arrived promptly. I ordered oysters on the half shell and it took an inordinate amount of time for them to arrive....this was the only negative to our dining experience. Our entree's didnt disappoint, my wife had the grouper. Excellent and cooked to perfection. Note to other patrons, Salmon is a great fish but definitely not LOCAL. I had the African rock lobster tail which was priced fairly and again the chef knows how to cook seafood. DO NOT MISS THE KEY LIME PIE, THE BEST IN THE AREA!!! The music played at this restaurant was very bad, playing music that just really took away from eating at what is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. When we asked about the music we were told corporate controls what is played insted of matching the music to the age of the customer and style of the restaurant. Believe me I DO NOT want to listen to rap when eating at a nice restaurant. Also, the food is just okay. The Brunch Menu has NOT changed for years. We ordered the eggs benedict with lobster. Do NOT order this since the only lobster you get is like a garnish, not worth the money! We are Landrey Select member and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Have no plans to return anytime soon. The views of the river are great but that is the only about the Chart House is great. read more

We went to the Chart House to enjoy their Happy Hour specials. The bar was packed, and the hostess helped us scope out a table. We each enjoyed a drink special, thumbs up on the Pomegranate Martini. I was concerned about trying this place after reading the reviews but decided to go for it. I was NOT disappointed. I sat at the bar and was quickly greeted by the bartender and before I knew I had a drink and in a friendly conversation with another guest. My newly founded friend suggested the lobster bisque as a starter and the bartender suggest the grouper with mango sauce. The bisque was creamy smooth with great lobster taste and the grouper was "amazing ", fresh, tender with sweet and spicy mango sauce. I will be back! read more

My wife and I have been frequent visitors to the Chart House for many years. We have never been disappointed with the food or the service. I have written reviews complementing this establishment over the years. However, this reviews purpose is to call attention to a small defect that is having a negative affect on their customers experience on the patio. First of all, the patio is gorgeous and has an outstanding view of the water. I can't think of a better place to have dinner and a few drinks. In fact, we were there a few days ago and we had an outstanding experience out there. However, there was one issue which reminded me to leave this review as a friendly reminder for management. There are two rows of tables on the patio. One row is close to the building and presents no issue. However, the second row is situated close to the edge of the patio and gets direct sunlight during the dinner hour. This is a common problem for a lot of patios and they normally solve it by just rolling down a shade to block the sun from shining directly on diners. The problem here is that the shade is old and needs to be replaced. We have been there in the past when servers and restaurant personnel tried to bring the shade down and failed ...because of its age and mechanical problems. This is not just something that we have noticed. It was somewhat of a topic of discussion near our table the afternoon that we were there. So I thought that I would bring it to managements attention by mentioning it in this review. Again, in the scheme of things, this is a minor problem. It will not stop us from enjoying this restaurant or sitting on the patio. However, we do try to get there early and snag a seat at a table near the wall and away from the direct sun light. Been here several times now and the service is always good. Restaurant has a very nice atmosphere with a lot of windows overlooking the water. Love the fresh fish options available every night. The black and blue swordfish is my favorite. Drinks are also very good at the bar, if you do have to wait a little bit. Decent wine list not marked up too high. read more

This place has gone downhill in quality. Went in for a special occasion. Both meals were horrible. $160.00. I'm not sure why they'd serve a piece of meat loaded with pure fat. We only go to chart house on special occasions. Tonight we visited chart house in Melbourne to celebrate Valentine's Day. We arrived at 5pm and had reservations. It was not busy at all. Once seated, we ordered our drinks and food. Our appetizers came and were completely gone by the time we received our drinks and I had to ask for them again. Our server never asked us if we needed a 2nd drink the entire time we were there. Our dinner was served (surf and turf) and we had no steak knives. The server never came back by our table to ask. I had to get up to go find someone to ask for a knife. For the amount of money that dinner costs there, the service should 100% be better. The server had another table of guests nearby and went to their table quite often but just never bothered to ever look our way or to even check on us at all. I will say the food was delicious as always but the service was the worst we've ever experienced. We left here tonight in a terrible mood after trying to have a nice romantic evening out. We love visiting the Chart House. We dined on Friday, national lobster day. However by the time we got there, 8p reservations, the lobster special was sold out. But have no fear! Nikolay, our server came to our rescue. He recommended adding scallops to my entree to 'scratch that seafood itch' mind you that option is no where to be found on the menu. The scallops were amazing! This place is really nice and has the vibe of a great date night. The service was excellent and the ambience of looking over the water while having dinner adds the cherry on top of it. However, the food was above average at best and you could get it at any other restaurant. You come here for the unique drinks and the view which is the reason why this place stays packed. Advice: Get a reservation during sunset because the view is absolutely amazing! Just make a reservation a few weeks earlier to get it otherwise you will have to go later. read more

We've been coming to Chart House in Melbourne FL for over 10 years now on Christmas day.  We make reservations in August of each year and always put in our reservation request for a table by the window.  I believe once in 10 years this request was granted for a window table. We received a call about a week before Christmas from a woman stating that due to covid they were doing a 3 course prefix meals for $55 each person. No more salad bar with caviar for lunch. That was fine as there was a nice selection of soup/salad starters, main courses and desserts.  We showed up at our reservation time of 11:45 am for lunch and waited only a couple of minutes for our table (not next to a window).  From there it was all downhill.  We've been to many different Chart Houses around the USA and service and food is always top notch.  On this particular Christmas day neither the food or service met our expectations.  We ordered our entrees,  asked a few questions in regards to the sea bass and our server couldn't provide any information that wasn't available on the menu. My wife asked what vegetables came with the prime rib and the waiter began describing the ingredients in their house salad.  Once my wife was able to get the server focused on the vegetables she decided on the asparagus spears. After our soup and salad and an extremely long wait we asked for another bread basket.  Our wish was granted with the provision from our server that we "promise to finish the second basket".  Really? I think he may have been trying to be funny.  Guess what, he wasn't  funny. Things got worse. I actually asked for and pointed out on the menu for the sea bass with vegetable hash as did another of our guests.  When the sea bass with gnocchi finally arrived (uh, not what we ordered) and we questioned the order the server made it seem like that was the order we placed.  He reluctantly suggested he could take back the fish but couldn't predict when we might see the new plates.  By now, even after 2 bread baskets which we consumed per request we reluctantly agreed to stick with what we were served when the server suggested he would bring us some vegetable hash on the side.  When my wife's prime rib was delivered to the table (by a different waiter) this waiter announced that the asparagus spears were the ones "ordered for the table" Again, what???  This $7 upcharge was removed from the bill upon our request.  Finally, after another incredible long wait desserts were delivered to the table.  This time the server slid my Drunken Cheesecake in front of me and quired "does this look the same"? I have no idea what that meant or if again,  this was his attempt at humor.  The lava cake ordered by 2 guests was missing anything at all that might have resembled lava.  Instead these lumpy chunks of chocolate were more akin to molten lava that had cooled and dried to a crisp.  At no point during our meal were we asked how we were doing or offered a refill on our beverages (including waters) until service was concluded.  We understand it was Christmas day,  we understand they were busy, we understand this does not fall on the kitchen staff and we understand this falls squarely on the front of house staff.  This is the first time we can recall on any visit to any Chart House that there was no one resembling management roaming the floor and checking on the patrons.  Probably a good thing as we were fit to be tied by the time we paid the bill, tipped the valets and exited the parking lot heading back home. read more

Additional star for the stellar service provided by our server, Kelly, on Christmas day. Caviar on the salad bar? Yes, please, as it is a staple on all of the Chart House salad bars. I've had the swordfish on multiple visits and it's alway tasty. This particular visit however the swordfish was on the smaller side. The pan seared scallops were good as was the herb crusted salmon and lobster bisque. Creme Brulee...it's the way to end a meal! The view is beautiful and you can almost always count on seeing the dolphins swim by during your lunch. At around $50 a person, for a meal and the salad bar it's more of a special occasion treat for us. read more

The scenery was very beautiful. Coming into the restaurant around 6 PM just before the sunset sitting outside. Average wait time for us to get seen when we found our seat outside by the lake. Appetizer we had was very good (Crabcake). Waiter was not as attentive for a place of this type of establishment and the cost of the service. Did the three course menu for 40 dollars. Caesar salad mediocre, lobster bisque not good. Tuna was very good due to the veggies. 10 ounce prime rib steak was 6.5 out of 10. Ordered medium well. No option to substitute lava cake for a different dessert. Good experience probably will not come for a full course meal maybe an appetizer with a scenic view. read more

I was frankly surprised how much I enjoyed dinner at the chart house last night. I have eaten a chart house in Los Angeles and it was good but nothing terribly remarkable except for the check size. Last night, I was surprised that my husband and I left with a check just over $100 while enjoying two entrées, a bowl of soup, and an appetizer. We also enjoyed two glasses of wine and two non-alcoholic beverages. That was a pretty decent price. The ahi tuna app was amazing, fresh and vibrant. The flavors paired so well, I wish it was an entree! I had the Mac Nut Mahi and the fish was fresh, mild, and a beautiful size. It was cooked perfectly. We loved the flavor combinations with peanut sauce, mango sticky rice and soy glazed green beans. The green beans were a surprise! Delicious. My husband's baked stuffed shrimp were good. Rarely leave negative reviews, but I'm surprised this location has as many stars as it does. I've been to many Chart House locations in different cities and specifically this one a hand full of times over the years. This location always seems to disappoint. Why pay for "fine dining" pricing when the customer service is sub-par? No one wants to pay to put up with a server or manager's bad attitude. We got their early and had an appetizer and a beer before sitting at our dining table. We ordered crab bites with remoulade sauce, and it was effortless to share. We got a window table overlooking the river and ordered two different specials. I got the romano panko-crusted chicken, and Jan got the parmesan-crusted panko-crusted cod. We waited 2 hours for our food to be delivered undercooked. After about the hour and a half mark talked to the manager to see if this was a typical time to wait for for this restaurant and he stated no. I ordered well done steaks for the kids. All of the orders were messed up after 2 hours of waiting for food. This is the steak that should have been well done looked like. Made lunch reservations before reading the very mixed reviews. As the Chart House has a $50 cancelation fee, I kept the reservation for lunch on Christmas Eve. Got to the restaurant and learned there was a no option to the $69 per person 3 course meal. OK. Ambiance is not what it used to be years ago at the Chart House, except the very nice water view hasn't changed. We both had the Lobster Bisque for course one. A small bowl and it was OK... a little off tasting. For course two, I had the Prime Rib and the wife had the Crusted Grouper. Both were very good. Prime Rib seemed like it was a rather small piece, but it was sufficient and tasty. Wife liked the Grouper. For course three, desert, I had the cherry cheese cake and it was awesome. A big piece and very Christmasy tasting. Wife had the Key Lime pie and said it was great. Wife had two glasses of wine and I later learned (she pays the bills) they were A ridiculous $14 each. With a big (Christmas) tip, our lunch was $200. Would I do it again? No way. Much too expensive for something just not that special. If the prices were more reasonable I would have given four stars. read more
