We have enjoyed many dinners and special occasions at the Chart House over these years. Tonight was no exception with it being our Anniversary and a belated birthday. The staff is so accommodating, always trying to give us one of our favorite tables. A true highlight was having Christina as our server. We have had her in the past. She is so warm, welcoming and a smile that lets you know she will take great care of you. Christina is true gem and asset to the Chart House. We sat at a beautiful table by the window, and the view is incomparable, romantic and relaxing. Our meal that night was good, and this can vary from visit to visit. The Caesar salad was its usual delicious. The halibut was grilled with not too much flavor. My prime rib was more medium than the medium rare requested, but generous in size with good flavor. The cream spinach was good. Their wine selection is excellent. Christina brought us a tasty complimentary dessert. The gentleman who boxed up our leftovers was very kind and efficient, and gave me the extra au jus I requested. We will look forward to a return dinner in the near future. read more

Dinner was pretty good last night. But a few disappointed ments. The halibut was child sized. Really small. Smaller than an appetizer. For $47 I expected a meal and not rid bits. The sizzling mushrooms and dinner salad were delicious. The salad dressing as the perfect flavor and quality. I enjoyed both very much. The restaurant was rather empty for a Saturday evening. The food was excellent! My husband had the grilled swordfish which was done to perfection. I ordered the King Crab Legs, a huge treat for me. The service was less than stellar. Our server, Mark, while certainly handsome, was an inveterate up-seller who was obnoxious adjacent. Not only was he doing his best to up-sell us, his voice was so loud, we could hear him from 2 tables away. That really squelched the ambiance. My husband and one of my best friends share the same birthday and both wanted to eat at The Chart House in Redondo Beach to celebrate. We were expecting a 30 minute wait (which we have experienced many times at Chart House) on a Saturday night with a reservation but were pleasantly surprised when we walked right in and were immediately seated. We started with cocktails which never disappoint and enjoyed a beautiful ocean view. I ordered the salad bar which I have loved since the Chart House was in Marina del Rey. Came to Chart House Redondo Beach for dinner and sunset drinks and overall had a good experience, with a few notes that keep it from being truly exceptional. We ordered steaks, the fried octopus, a soup, and cocktails, and took our time enjoying the harbor view. Our dining experience at this Chart House was exceptional from beginning to end - the service, the food, and the ambiance were all 1st rate and totally worth the price of admission! We ordered quite a bit of food and shared it all family-style. Everything was VERY tasty, but the best of it all was the prime rib and the coconut shrimp! Came back here recently to celebrate an engagement. The food was decent. The salad bar is pretty good. I got the salmon with orzo. It was ok. Not amazing, it horrible. The molten cake or whatever it's called is pretty good. It's one of those you have to order ahead so they can make it. The service was pretty slow that night though. I started a tradition outside of my divorce to take my kids to the Chart House for their birthdays every year! It's been one of our very favorite restaurants and last night I took my son who turned 22 yesterday. I requested a table with an ocean view and we got a corner table. It was absolutely perfect! What truly made our night was our amazing waitress Alesia. I really do hope I'm spelling her name correctly. Not only was she an excellent waitress, but her personality was extraordinary, which made our overall experience beyond a 10. Mother's Day 2026. You know my family and I made reservations for 14 people at Chart House. We had a later reservation and were told we wouldn't be pushed out the door no one would be kicked out regardless. Meal went well, server Miles was great. But our experience was ruined by the unbelievably rude and unacceptable behavior of one of the restaurants valet drivers. White guy, middle aged, bald dude. As we were packing up from our table after the night was over. He came to our table and asked "Do you have the time?" He asked my wife Then My sister in law Then My mother in law and father in law No one had it, I had a watch so I answered I assumed he was a waiter or someone bussing the tables asking a general question. I respond "yea I got you, 10:46." He responds in a very stern "great let's go." We realized he was valet. We all were stunned by the interaction, we were already packing up to go so we thought ok whatever. Doesn't end there though. We get outside to recover our cars and he continues to throw his pitty party. "How'd your Mother's Day go? Oh good, I was hoping to get to my mother tonight" Buddy I don't care this is your line of work. You chose this. My sister in law lost her valet ticket and tells him it's the Tahoe I have cash He responds "how much?" She says "10" He proceeds to tell my family he's hoping to get "$15 a car" (VALET IS $9). My father in law reminds him valet is 9 He responds "yea but look at the time" Buddy I don't care. When my sister in law didn't give him 15 he told her "your car is last" She asked "why" and he said it was so he didn't mixup the keys or give out the wrong car, mind you none of the cars were brought to us. Imagine asking for a larger tip and conducting yourself this way. Was lucky to get anything at all and had the restaurant not been closing up I would have demanded to speak to management. Gave him my $10 and grabbed my keys and went to recover the car. Meanwhile this valet driver continues to complain about my family to the waiters who were heading home all while in earshot of us. What a way to end the night. Chart house I hope you reach out to discuss this with me cause the behavior was absolutely disgusting. I'm there with my wife (a mom) my sister in laws (both mothers) my mother in law and my other sister in law (a mother to be) and this is the way your valet does business? By the way we have stayed late in the past and have had numerous times where valet comes to our tables we close out with them and they give us out keys never any issues. read more

The views of the sunset and waves were gorgeous, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Super chill night as we were in the back room with only two other tables. We all ordered the Chart House Special ($59) which includes a starter, entrée, and dessert. We each started with the clam chowder--absolutely delicious. For mains, I had the 10oz ribeye with mashed potatoes, my husband had the shrimp linguini, and our friends chose the salmon with crab. We also shared the creamed spinach (AMAZING) and asparagus. For dessert, we went with the mini lava cake (AMAZING, TOO)! The quality is good but it's so off pudding to eat some crab that taste sweet then one that is over salted. Leave that crab alone. It's good just as it is when steamed and dipped in butter. The black cod miso was perfectly cooked but the miso sauce is too watery so the flavor is lost. Small tweaks would make this place GREAT. We were probably 1 of 3 tables in the entire restaurant, granted it was a half hour before closing but we did not expect the server to be so slow. Okay so we've been coming here for a very long time and usually love it. Now, the past few times, the food has been mediocre at best and the service horrible. This time, the food was fine, nothing amazing. The service was impeccable. The issue I have, and the reason I'm leaving a review in the first place is the fact that leaving the restaurant after paying over $300, we walk in to the parking garage that is flooded with sewage. You could smell it before leaving the restaurant. Walking into the parking garage, I was not expecting to see actual sewage coming up from the pipes in the ground. The staff was audibly gagging as they were trying to sweep it away. The issue is, we all had to step in SEWAGE, which then would be traced into our cars. Even worse, my father is in a wheelchair, so now the sewage is not only in the car, but will be traced throughout their house. They should have handled this better. There must be certain protocols in place when stuff like this happens, and it seemed like they had no idea what to do. What I find extremely disturbing and disgusting, is that the staff that were sweeping up the sewage in the garage, were then walking back into the restaurant and what looked like the kitchen!!! A health code violation? Surely. What was once a local favorite, is now a place I don't think I will be able to return to, which is incredibly unfortunate. read more

They have a valet for $9 so we just parked nearby in a public meter spot and walked over. The workers are very friendly! Love that. It was a quiet weekday evening so there were plenty of tables open. We got a spot near the window and could view the ocean. The portions are huge! I was pleasantly surprised with the appetizers- they could definitely feed 4 people or more. The calamari was crispy and flavorful! The crab cake was piping hot and just melts in your mouth. The king salmon was the best I've ever had- usually salmon is my go to entree when I eat out. At this point, Chart House and my grandma's birthday go together like coconut shrimp and sweet chili sauce. This place has become our official celebration HQ, and for her 100th birthday (yes, ONE HUNDRED years of love, grace, and wisdom), they nailed it. We were seated at a nice corner table for five, where the view of the Pacific Ocean looked like a postcard, sunset included, free of charge. Grandma kept looking out like she personally owned the coastline. Honestly, after 100 years on Earth, maybe she should. Our server Christina had sparkling blue eyes and a smile so welcoming I almost invited her to Thanksgiving. She made sure our table was taken care of like royalty. She constantly checked in with my grandma to make sure everything was to her liking, and it was! Appetizer round? Oh, we indulged. Coconut shrimp? Crunchy and craveable. Meatballs with ricotta? Like an Italian grandma's hug in food form. Clam chowder? Smooth, comforting, and perfect if your stomach wanted a warm-up lap. Entrees? A solid lineup: My shellfish bouillabaisse: solid "B" -- good broth, nice seafood mix, but I'm Southern Italian... so my cioppino standards are high. Macadamia-crusted mahi mahi: "B+", tropical and tasty. Caesar with chicken: "A", because sometimes simplicity wins, plus it had a delicious baked parmesan shell that housed everything. 7oz filet: "A", juicy and gone in seconds, they undercooked it a tad, but that is the right side to error on. Salmon with mango sticky rice (special addition for Grams): also, an "A", and honestly felt like it belonged on a spa retreat menu. Grade point average: B+, with no complaints and clean plates all around. Service? Top notch. Atmosphere? Gorgeous. Valet? A cool $9 pre-tip, which beats parking two blocks away with a seagull eyeing your car. The best part? A custom printed menu honoring Grandma's 100th birthday. There is no better way to kick off the weekend than a Friday Happy Hour at the Chart House in Redondo Beach! I visited recently with a group of friends and we grabbed a spot in the lounge just in time for that iconic SoCal sunset--the ambiance was absolutely perfect. The real highlight of our evening, however, was our server, Alicia. She was incredible! Even with the Friday rush, she took such great care of us, making sure our drinks were never empty and that we had everything we needed. I went for the All-You-Can-Eat Salad Bar, which is hands down one of the best in the area--everything was fresh, crisp, and well-stocked. I don't know what to say. We hadn't gone to the Chart House for some time. It was my wife's and my 34th anniversary. I was hoping they would still have the salad bar... and they did! I had the Callahan prime rib, salad bar, and loaded baked potato. The prime rib melted in my mouth. My wife had the shrimp and lobster pasta, which she really liked. For dessert (there is always room for dessert), we had crème brûlée and key lime pie. Both were amazing! My wife couldn't even finish her pie, and I swear I heard a moan after every bite. Let's talk about the service. Easton was one of the best waiters we have had in a long time. He was polite, attentive, and clearly knew the menu front to back, providing as many details about the options as we wanted. The manager came by and was so polite, and congratulated us on our anniversary. Did I mention that the menu was printed out personally, with the message "Enjoy your anniversary at The Chart House"? Well I went back to Chart House like I said I would and I was again pleased with the amazing service from Meredith the manager and Jay 5 & Jordon the 2 bartenders. Great food and great service. I have to point out that Merideth really looks out for all the customers there. She always came around asking us if we were good and if everything was ok. If anyone needed anything. We were all happy and well taken care of. What a great place to meet new people. Everyone is friendly. Again, I'll be back to visit Meredith. She is amazing! Hubbers gave me a few places to choose from for my early birthday celebration with fam. This place simply won out because I liked their menu best: fresh shucked oysters, squid ink pasta, etc... Party of (lucky number) 13, we were seated at the very corner where one can watch the waves hit the shores. Great spot! We all agreed on getting a few orders of the Kim Chee Calamari since none of us have ever tried this version. VERDICT: It was a hit. Crispy and only a hint of heat, Kim Chee flavor came through. We liked it so much, we ordered one more just to have on the table. (The plate ended up being clean by the end of the night.) Oysters next! Ordered three dozens immediately (fam are oyster fans) only to be disappointed. Our server, Sean, sadly came back empty handed and with bad news: they were out. (Like... how are they out on a Friday night?!) Naturally, we were all sad and... well.... Booooo... :( But Sean, a few minutes later, came back with 5 pieces, "On the house, it's what we have left..." I only had one (because sharing is caring) and the one I had was fresh and delish! Crisis averted. Or so I thought... I ordered the black linguine di mare for my main course. That too, I was told, was not available. Batting 100 is not always good, eh?! Disappointed for a 2nd time, I had to ask Sean to take everyone else's orders first because I need to do a more thorough review of the menu. (I didn't have a back-up plan.) Unenthused, I went for the savory shrimp pasta. But I'll admit, that dish was pretty amazing! Pasta was a perfect al dente, shrimp was cooked to perfection and the seasoning was on point! So, we almost made it to happy hour at Chart House Redondo Beach--but hey, when the ocean's calling and the sun's about to do its golden hour thing, you stay. Discount or no discount. We cozied up in a cushy booth in the bar area, front-row seats to the most beautiful sunset show on the West Coast. The view alone is worth the trip--seriously, it's like the sky was trying to outdo itself. Now, onto the food. We went with the bar menu, and even though we missed the happy hour pricing by this much, we had zero regrets. First up: the bacon cheeseburger. Heads up--don't expect full strips of bacon. Instead, they crumble it up and sprinkle it like magic pixie dust, and honestly? It works. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly medium-rare with sliced fresh creamy avocado. Served with a side of crispy fries - I left no fry behind. Then came the kimchi calamari--crispy, not rubbery, with just enough kick to keep things interesting. We were actually shocked at how good it was. Could've eaten another plate, easy. And the prime rib sliders? Tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat on a fluffy bun, with a side of au jus that could be bottled and sold as happiness. The horseradish cream was already tucked inside, but it was so good we asked for more on the side. No shame here. Sure, we missed happy hour. Was here for the first time hosting 25 people for a private dinner. Michael greeted me and asked questions to make sure things would run smoothly. Miles and Eric were our servers and they did a fantastic job. Food was great. Would dine here again. We had an ocean view from the private room and it was quiet. Although there was music playing in the main dining room for a more social feel. There is valet parking which I wish I would've used if you drive back right to the restaurant. I made the mistake of backing in a spot in the small metered lot close to the light at the entrance and was issued a ticket.
