    Calamari

My husband and one of my best friends share the same birthday and both wanted to eat at The Chart House in Redondo Beach to celebrate. We were expecting a 30 minute wait (which we have experienced many times at Chart House) on a Saturday night with a reservation but were pleasantly surprised when we walked right in and were immediately seated. We started with cocktails which never disappoint and enjoyed a beautiful ocean view. I ordered the salad bar which I have loved since the Chart House was in Marina del Rey. There is a great selection and it's endless! We also ordered the shrimp, crab, avocado, and mango stack which was fresh and delicious. My husband enjoyed the calamari as an appetizer. For dinner we had perfectly cooked prime rib and coconut shrimp. Service was very good and the birthday celebration continued with dessert courtesy of Chart House.

Came to Chart House Redondo Beach for dinner and sunset drinks and overall had a good experience, with a few notes that keep it from being truly exceptional. We ordered steaks, the fried octopus, a soup, and cocktails, and took our time enjoying the harbor view. The cocktails were nicely balanced and not overly sweet, with flavor profiles that actually matched the menu descriptions, which I appreciate. The steak came out cooked close to what we requested and was well-seasoned, with a good sear and a tender center; portion size was generous and it paired well with the sides, but for the price point you expect that "wow" factor, and it landed more in the "very good" category than unforgettable. The fried octopus was a pleasant surprise: crispy on the outside, still tender inside, without that rubbery texture some places have, and it worked well as a shareable starter with the dipping sauce and garnish. The soup was comforting and served hot, not lukewarm, with a rich, well-seasoned flavor that felt like the kind of dish you slowly sip while watching the water. Service throughout the night was friendly and generally attentive without being overbearing; our server checked on us enough that we never had to flag someone down for refills, but also gave us space to enjoy the view and conversation. Overall, this is a great spot if you want classic Chart House vibes: waterfront setting, solid cocktails, and reliably good steak and seafood the atmosphere is what you're really paying for, and with just a bit more attention to elevating flavors and execution, it could easily reach that true "destination" level. They also gave us free desert in the end. Ty will definitely come back

We arrived right at the time of our reservation, and were seated promptly without a wait. When considering the quality of the food, the prices are fair; the portion sizes are also generous. Our dining experience at this Chart House was exceptional from beginning to end - the service, the food, and the ambiance were all 1st rate and totally worth the price of admission! We ordered quite a bit of food and shared it all family-style. Everything was VERY tasty, but the best of it all was the prime rib and the coconut shrimp! I wouldn't hesitate to return here, and I heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing dining experience :-)

Came back here recently to celebrate an engagement. The food was decent. The salad bar is pretty good. I got the salmon with orzo. It was ok. Not amazing, it horrible. The molten cake or whatever it's called is pretty good. It's one of those you have to order ahead so they can make it. The service was pretty slow that night though. I'd come back but not my first choice.

First time back in a while, quality service and food, wife had the prime rib, I had the Sea Bass and Lobster Risotto. Prices are reasonable, food comes fast and hot. Valet parking is $9.00. nice ocean views. Recommend for special events or date night.

We got there early,we waited it in the car until the restaurant open! We had reservations at 4pm, we got the table with a nice view! Our waiter Victor was nice and also there's a guy came over to ask if everything was ok! He's probably a manager! The food was good, service was good! It was a nice dinner!

I started a tradition outside of my divorce to take my kids to the Chart House for their birthdays every year! It's been one of our very favorite restaurants and last night I took my son who turned 22 yesterday. I requested a table with an ocean view and we got a corner table. It was absolutely perfect! What truly made our night was our amazing waitress Alesia. I really do hope I'm spelling her name correctly. Not only was she an excellent waitress, but her personality was extraordinary, which made our overall experience beyond a 10. She knew I was having a hard time getting a picture of my son and I and she offered to take a picture of us together with the sunset in the background! The food was delicious per usual! We will be back, but I will definitely be requesting her as our waitress from now on! Thank you, Alesia

The food, service, and ambiance was beautiful this Mother's Day. We had the pre set menu which included a soup or salad, main entree, and dessert. Service was top notch and the view was amazing. Highly recommend for a Mother's Day brunch.

Met up with old friends at Chart House in Redondo Beach after way too much time apart, and it was the perfect spot to reconnect. The views of the sunset and waves were gorgeous, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Super chill night as we were in the back room with only two other tables. We all ordered the Chart House Special ($59) which includes a starter, entrée, and dessert. We each started with the clam chowder--absolutely delicious. For mains, I had the 10oz ribeye with mashed potatoes, my husband had the shrimp linguini, and our friends chose the salmon with crab. We also shared the creamed spinach (AMAZING) and asparagus. For dessert, we went with the mini lava cake (AMAZING, TOO)! Everything was flavorful and well-prepared, though I will say the food was warm rather than hot, which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Our server was attentive and friendly, and overall it was a great dining experience with unbeatable ocean views.

Thoroughly enjoyed my delicious Happy Hour Prime Rib Sliders for only $13 and tasty lettuce wrap for $7 watching the beautiful sun set on the ocean at Chart House in Redondo Beach. The service was amazing! Alicia was super friendly, attentive and made the perfect suggestions for yummy choices. Her warm personality elevated my meal. Going to come back soon. That was an awesome cocktail hour!!

Gorgeous ocean views, especially at sunset, and consistently great food. The macadamia-crusted mahi and prime rib are standouts, and the lava cake is a must. Service is friendly and the vibe is upscale but relaxed. Prices are on the higher side, but the setting and quality make it worth it, perfect for date nights or celebrations.

Would I say they have the best prime rib around? No. But it is pretty damn satisfying. When here, I always order the Franciscan cut Prime Rib cooked to medium (it's 3/4 pounds), house salad with ranch dressing, and steak fries. They throw in a loaf of sourdough bread with whipped butter. The prime rib is very tender and has plenty of fat. We all know fat equals flavor. The only thing I would change about it, and I keep forgetting to ask the server each time I'm here, is to have it served without the au jus already in the plate. Don't get me wrong. The au jus is fantastic, but when the prime rib is served in a pool of it, the meat becomes soggy. Served separately, I think the prime rib would be even better. In addition to the prime rib, the salad and steak fries are incredibly delicious. The salad is nothing fancy, but very tasty due to the ranch dressing it comes with. Wish I knew the recipe of the dressing. The steak fries pair perfectly with the prime rib. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The only thing I would say is pretty average is the sourdough bread. Although it comes out warm, I don't get the sense that they're freshly baked. The service here is phenomenal. The servers are attentive, polite, and efficient. Can't ask for anything more from them. If you're looking for a trendy spot with contemporary decor and pretentious vibes, this place is not for you. This is an old school steakhouse with red upholstered booths and soft music playing in the background. When I first started coming here, the smallest cut was only $25, which felt like an incredible deal. Prices have gone up over the years, and it's now $37 for the smallest cut, but even with the increase, it's a place I continue to return to because the quality and experience have remained consistently good. I always order the prime rib medium rare with the soup and French fries. The prime rib is consistently delicious, flavorful, and tender, with a rich beefy flavor that really hits the spot. It's cooked just the way I like it, and every visit reminds me why I've been coming back for so many years. The portions are generous, and the meal is satisfying from start to finish. One of the things I appreciate most about this restaurant is its classic atmosphere. The interior feels like a step back in time, with an old-school charm that is becoming harder to find these days. It has the feel of a traditional steakhouse from the 1960s, and the nostalgic vibe adds a lot to the overall dining experience. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy a good meal, and appreciate a piece of local history. There is a parking lot available, which is definitely a plus, although it can be surprisingly easy to miss if you're visiting for the first time. Just keep an eye out as you're approaching the restaurant. While I miss the days when the prime rib was only $25, I understand that prices have gone up everywhere. The fact that I've continued coming here for six years says a lot about how much I enjoy the food and atmosphere. If you've never been and you're a fan of prime rib, this is a spot that's well worth checking out at least once. Chances are you'll find yourself planning a return

Nick's Manhattan Beach will always hold a special place in our family's heart…read more In August 2025, I made a dinner reservation at Nick's because my parents were visiting from out-of-town and we had some exciting news to announce: we were pregnant with our first baby! :) On the reservation, I noted this, and didn't expect much. The day of the reservation, the host manager called to confirm that we wanted to share the news at dessert, and if there were any other accommodations we needed, which was very sweet. When we arrived at our table, they had a card signed by staff congratulating us, and it was a night to remember. Great food, great service, and the warm hand towels after my dad demolished the baby back ribs were the cherry on top! Our group also ordered the chilean sea bass, salmon, and bistro plate. 10/10. One of our final meals as a family of two was Valentine's Day 2026. It was our first time being seated indoors, and the ambiance was dim and romantic. The meatloaf special was fantastic! Fast forward to June 2026, and we brought our 3-month-old son to his first NIck's meal (unfortunately, he could not partake) and to celebrate my husband's first Father's Day. On this reservation, I put in a request for outdoor seating that gave us enough room to park our stroller and car seat, and they were able to accommodate that. They were also understanding when me and my husband were running a few minutes past our reservation time due to fhe baby, and we appreciated the flexibility. Noise level was moderate, but definitely quieter outside. If you get nothing else from this review, just remember this: ORDER THE WARM BUTTER CAKE. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT. Thanks for the consistent hospitality and great meals, Nick's!

Too salty and just didn't hit the spot. Not sure if there is a new cook or they changed anything with the recipe, but I don't order it anymore. The other food items are decent and I would visit here again on occassion as it is a solid dinner choice. It's okay with kids. Not a huge restaurant inside, but they also have outdoor covered seating as well for better weather months. Parking: Attached parking structure with pay meters. Street parking. Nearby multi-story lot with pay meters. Can be a bit busy on weekends around here so best to time your visit accordingly if possible.

From the friendly service & classically decorated dining room to the delicious food. Everything is 5-Stars!! On the most recent visit we were celebrating my Sons Birthday. We both had the Churrasco Experience which includes all you can eat from the Market Bar and a continuous selection of over 12 fire roasted meats brought to your table. As tempting as it is don't fill up on the Market Bar because one easily could and be happy. TIP: Join the rewards program for great discounts. This time we had half-off one meal & a free desert! The also have a great cocktail bar with a large selection of Brazilian cocktails. I had a Strawberry Hibiscus Caipirinha and my Son ordered a glass of very good Chardonnay from the solid wine list. Mine was so good I had to have a couple LOL After eating soooo much food, special shout out to the pork belly w/ honey drizzle & the lamb chops, We were confronted with the choice of any desert from the menu. I strongly recommend the Cheesecake Brulee which one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had! There is valet parking at the door and free validated parking in the structure next door. No street parking is available.

I was pleasantly surprised to see they got an extension to stay till July 11, This place has been a staple of the South Bay for over 50 years and I literally grew up just down the street from here. I remember wondering as child how it was to dine here but it wasn't until I was in college a few years back that I finally got to try this spot out. It's been a go to spot ever since. I've been here with family and friends for various celebrations, occasions and even dineLA (see previous review). I will miss their dine LA specials, Prime Rib Wednesdays, Black Angus Wagon Wheel samplers and Campfeast Dinner for 2. It was always a treat to have their Sky High Mud Pie and their Chocolate Chip Cowboy Cookie for my birthday. I do hope the Torrance location finds another spot. They have been such a big part of the South Bay story and it would be wonderful if they can continue to be part of the Torrance.

I'll jump to the end real quick because this is important .... no fault of the restaurant but in the parking area (I parked far enough so that my car wouldn't be hit by anyone) and some bozo still managed to swipe my entire side front end of my new car. Jerrrrrkoff move of the driver but I guarantee you that karrrrma is going to come back ten-fold to you. What comes around, goes around so I'm not worried about a fish being served cold to you, soon. Ample parking; however not great drivers. Everyone had 7pm reservations and the establishment did great in getting everyone to be seated in an orderly fashion. The staff was welcoming. One patron decided to be the a h o l e of the night and cut everyone in line as she believed she was entitled. Many people were upset with this. Totally understandable. The lady ended up going to the bar with her husband and friend. She is an embarrassment. Again, no fault of the restaurant. We had a great team who worked beyond hard and provided great service. Leo, Candy and Savannah were the main host and cocktail artists. Our server was Thomas. I believe we were so lucky to have him. He provided the utmost exceptional service. I'm all about great customer service and he was excellent. He definitely made our night. My sister and mom had made reservations and my husband and I had another reservation. We were able to sit together. Our daughter came but did not order since she was Keto and did not want to break her ketosis. Kudos to the chef! Everything was savory, heavenly and exquisite. The experience came with; 1st course: Deviled eggs, smoked paprika, crispy bacon, crispy potato chip 2nd course: shrimp cocktail, house cocktail sauce, basil aioli Paired with a limoncello martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka ENTRÉE: Top Sirloin au poivre, mashed Potatoes, grilled asparagus, brandy cream sauce Paired with a cucumber martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka DESSERT: Berry crème brûlée Paired with Key Lime Pie Martini featuring Grey Goose Vodka The price was very reasonable. I loved the limoncello martini and cucumber martini. Grey Goose is my favorite along with crème brûlée so I knew this night would be a good one. Thomas, is such a delight. We hope to see him again. We are astonished by his great service. His attention to detail all the time while providing excellent service with a smile. He was so friendly and made sure we and others were taken care of. This Torrance location has been one that we have come to since I was a little girl. It's really sad to see them closing but I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing all of these lovely workers at the new place. The restaurant has an old school western style and feel.

Classy, sexy and elegance with great tasting food and great vibes and drinks. We love this place. Lots of great memories. Chef Daniel Godinez is amazing. The food is sooooooooo yummy. The Martinez is a delicious vodka drink. And I love my vodka. Their filet Mignon and prime rib are to die for. The sauces that they add to any plate satisfy your palate. Their shrimp appetizer and guacamole is CHEFS KISS. oh let me not forget their tomatillo salsa ... omgggggaaaaahhh!!! Mouth watering. Place is a hidden gem. Should be a lot more packed. Their tacos, beef or fish are amazing and we love their salads. Our favorite are their steaks. Cooked exactly as ordered and some of the sides are great.
