I finally got to try Chasen Matcha!! I got the Strawberry Matcha w/ Cream Top & Bougie Berry Matcha. The strawberry matcha was sooooo good! It wasn't too sweet and overpowering the matcha at all, probably my favorite strawberry matcha ever :) The bougie berry matcha was okay, I'll probably try something else next time.
I got the Strawberry Matcha latte and my fiance got the coco Hojicha. We both loved out drinks! Matcha very bold and earthy. Strawberry is subtle. No added sugar or sweetener. Perfect balance and not too sweet. My fiance really enjoyed the nutty notes of the Hojicha. Place is small but great for a little drop in to pick up a drink. It is street parking so that part was a bit tricky. Overall, loved the place and would come back!
No coffee here, just matcha! Chase Matcha Bar is a cute shop that serves creative matcha drinks. Before hitting the road back home to Houston, we made one last stop here. My friend ordered the houjicha latte, and compared to the last cafe we went to, we were a bit disappointed. The houjicha flavor was a bit lacking. My boyfriend ordered the strawberry matcha. You can't mess this up, it's definitely a crowd favorite. I love the presentation, the dried strawberries on top was a cute touch. Very creamy. The strawberry compote was good, however, they added too much. My boyfriend wished he tasted the matcha more. Lastly, I had the miso caramel. After trying my friend houjicha latte, I was a bit worried for mine... and rightfully so. I wasn't a big fan of the houjicha base, but I do think it tasted a bit better with the pistachio milk. I love the miso caramel sauce, but they definitely put way too much and it made the drink overly sweet :( If you like chocolate turtles, you'd definitely love this the miso caramel with pistachio milk. The roasted flavor profile from the houjicha with the miso caramel tasted similar to chocolate caramel, and the pistachio milk adds the nuttiness. I love the aesthetics and the creativity of the drinks. Service is also very fast. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I will be returning. I'm glad I was able to try it for the one time!
I was intrigued to learn about this weekend-only matcha bar. Since Eric R. got up early on this Sunday to ride his bike with a friend, I was up and ready to make the journey south and be at Chasen right when it opened at 9 AM. There was hardly any traffic so even though it seemed far away, I got there in under 20 minutes. I parked across the street and got in line at 8:59 AM - I was fourth. When I got up to the counter, there were two pastries available: slices of matcha swirl bread and a matcha bun. I decided just to get a drink since I bought matcha white chocolate milk bread from Mitsuwa yesterday. I ordered the Seion matcha latte, described as matcha sourced from nishio with notes of almond, brown butter, and oat blossom. It comes unsweetened which is fine with me, and I asked for almond milk. I sat at the only table in the little cafe until my name was called. The drink was very smooth and creamy. I then drove right back and finished the drink where I am staying. It is a fun place for matcha lovers and the matcha-curious, but it is too small to gather with anyone so just come in knowing it is to get a drink and go on your merry way. Itadakimasu!
I made the long trek from the burbs to downtown to get some matcha and it was worth it. This is a small little hidden spot with no name on the building, so it was a little hard to spot. I got the strawberry matcha with the sweet foam. I didn't expect to like it this much, but dang I finished in a couple gulps because it was dang goooood.

So when the map brings you to the location know it's correct just a hidden gem. The shop is small and inviting. I stopped by on a mid Sunday afternoon and got the Hinada matcha (spelling may be incorrect). It was freaking and the flavor notes phenomenal. I highly recommend Chasen Matcha Bar.
One of the top matcha spots in the DFW area. I've been 4-5 times by now. I'm not often in this part of town, but it's worth making the trip out. Only open on the weekends and can be easy to miss because they only have a shop front sign, it's just an A-frame board outside the shop, but I'm sure you'll see the line before the actual board. It's a walk up shop, so don't plan on having a seat and getting work done. Parking is limited but that's expected in this part of the city. I think my favorite order is the original iced matcha latte with oat milk, but the berry matcha, the strawberry matcha, and the hojicha lattes are also great. Also always look forward to their seasonal menu changes.
A cute little spot with some creative offerings. Lots of different sweeteners to choose from. I opted for a hojicha latte with a lavender sweetener. Unfortunately, I didn't taste much of a potent hojicha flavor... and not much lavender either? Overall, it was on the blander side. Compared to other hojicha I've tried in the city, this one missed the mark.

I've been to Chasen Matcha Bar a few times now and it really lives up to the hype, it's easily one of the best matcha spots in Dallas. Their matcha is super smooth and high quality, and you can actually taste the difference compared to other cafes. I especially love their Oreo matcha, it's the perfect mix of earthy matcha with just the right amount of sweetness and cookie flavor without being overpowering. The drinks are always consistent, and everything is made really well. The vibe of the place is cute and minimal, making it a nice quick stop for a matcha run. Service is also always friendly and efficient, which makes the experience even better. read more

Sooooo I feel a bit lied to. In terms of iced drinks, they offered 12oz and 16oz. However, the 12oz cup seemed smaller than 12oz, we got home and measured it and we got about 10oz max. They said they use 3.5g of matcha for the 12oz and 4g for 16oz. I personally didn't think the matcha flavor wasn't that strong, especially for that ratio and a cup that is less than the stated amount. I expected the flavor to be stronger. I also felt like the matcha could be whisked for longer, it was a little grainy on the bottom of the drink. Ordered: - Iced House Matcha - we did oat milk and sweetened with vanilla. The girl said 2 pumps of vanilla, I said sure assuming that was normal. That was wayyy too much in my opinion. It was sooooo sweet. Diabetes in a cup. Would probably recommend 1 pump if you're doing the 12oz. - Strawberry Matcha - It was fine. Not my favorite. - Einspanner - not a fan of their cream top personally. Also... can we talk about $1.25 for milk substitutes, one of the more pricey ones but it's fine I guess. But if you're curious they used barista Califia Farms for their oat milk. read more
i got the satsuma matcha w wheatgrass, oat, and smn else that i forgot - however don't let it scare you, tasted like a slightly milky matcha their regular cup is crazy tiny, and i would say the large is what most places sell as a regular overall mild flavor read more

Underrated. Matcha very yummy. Menu isn't too overwhelming which is good. Got the strawberry matcha and it's not super sweet like other main chains are. Went around noon..not busy so easy in and out. read more

Matcha was very good and menu with a variety of different options. I cannot give it 5 stars as $9.20 for a large matcha that isn't that big is just too much money. Unfortunately the price will block me from returning. read more

I've always wanted to try their matcha after seeing it go viral online. However, the cup of matcha I ordered was ridiculously tiny and over $10! The matcha was okay, but not worth the hype. For the price, I will probably never come back. read more

Although it looks very promising, this matcha was very milky. Service was incredibly quick, which makes me wonder how much time is actually spent whisking up the matcha. There's a small table to sit at inside but other than that not much room to even stand and wait for your drink. Staff are very sweet and friendly, however! read more
DRINKS House Matcha with Honey - in my opinion, the honey was just very overpowering over the Matcha flavor. It didn't taste too much like Matcha, but the color was nice and the matcha was well dissolved. Taro Cloud - I like them Matcha flavor a lot more on this drink. The taro cream on top was very good. The cream was not too sweet and you could definitely taste both the Matcha and Taro in good ratio. Hojicha (unsweetened) - there is really strong hojicha flavor and it tastes really good. VIBES The place is pretty small. There's very very limited seating with only a table with two chairs and a little bit of window high table seating with two stools. It was pretty crowded when we went at around 11 AM on Saturday. Well, decorated interior with plants and very cute! PARKING pretty much like any city parking where it's very limited and a lot of parallel parking. I found it easier to park somewhere further and just walk to Chasen. read more

BOMB matcha! One of the best matchas in town! I go every weekend for the strawberry matcha with oat milk and cold foam on top. it is so gooood. The matcha I make at home don't taste this good. I think they make their own strawberry compote in house. I've also tried the einspanner, if you like less matcha and more vanilla. Go for that one. Strawberry is my go to just because the flavor compliments the matcha the best. I've also tried mango matcha and not a big fan, not much flavor. read more
Great matcha place in the Dallas area! Super small with only one table and bar stools in the area- not a place you can come and hang out for a while or do work out of. Has a good selection of matcha and teas which I enjoyed. Matcha had a good flavor although not the best I've ever had but still was great! They sell a few cookies as well. Not open very often, only open on weekends and main days are Saturdays. read more

Since they recently changed their opening days from sat/sun only to fri-sun, my mom and I decided to pay a visit. This is our third time there together, and the drinks are great every time! My mom got the taro cloud matcha and I got the matcha an einspanner and they were both delicious! Chasen is hands down my favorite spot for matcha in town. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming when you walk in, and the space itself is small but cozy in the best way. I've been here plenty of times now and they've never let me down. The matcha actually tastes like matcha, which I love--other places around town sometimes are too milky and have flavorings like strawberry or blueberry that come off way too artificial, but not here. I recently tried their strawberry matcha with oat milk and it was perfect: the milk-to-matcha ratio was just right, and the strawberry compote tasted fresh and homemade. I like my matcha on the stronger side, and Chasen nails it every time. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a solid matcha spot. read more

We finally got to try chasen! I was so excited!!! Overall the drinks were okay, I wish the strawberry fields had a more stronger strawberry taste, but other than that it was decent. We also got the cookie crumble, but it didn't really have as much flavor as I thought it would, it just tasted very toasty. The workers were super nice and efficient, it didn't take long for my drinks to come out. The inside is super small, but it is what you expect for a small matcha shop that's open on the weekends. Overall I enjoyed being able to try it, and I will possibly be back to try different flavors out read more

I got the strawberry matcha here and it was good. However, the parking in this area is terrible. It took me about 10 minutes of driving around to find it. The matcha was good and the service was fast but just be weary if you don't like having to find parking. read more
Their matcha is really good! I got the Oreo matcha and though it was good, I wish there was more Oreo! Inside is tiny, just a few seats, but it's really an order, grab n go set up. Not much interaction with the workers, but service is still friendly! read more

We were so excited to try this matcha spot since the pictures looked so good, and we love matcha. However we were disappointed. My friends and I prefer our matcha drinks on the stronger side, and Chasen's was more bland than I expected. Which surprised me due to the beautiful color and presentation of the drinks. I myself got the hojicha and bougie berry. The bougie berry didn't really complement the matcha and the hojicha was also watered down. The place itself is small. We ordered our drinks and left. There's barely any seating. Service was fast however. Overall I'm not sure if I would recommend. I might come back to give them another try but there's also other places in Dallas that I would rather try. read more

The matcha here is delicious!! I got the taro cloud with oatmilk. They are mixing the matcha right in front of you which takes a little bit of time but that's how you know it's going to be good. The place itself is a little bit on the smaller side and there isn't really a lot of seating. This is a good matcha place if you are just looking to pick up a drink cause the parking can be a little difficult as well. The matcha was really good though and I would go back and probably try the strawberry matcha. read more
