I am no matcha connoisseur but wow this was not my place. I had a hard time finishing my drink, it was kind of unpleasant to drink. I think my friend's einspanner matcha was decent though!

I finally got to try Chasen Matcha!! I got the Strawberry Matcha w/ Cream Top & Bougie Berry Matcha. The strawberry matcha was sooooo good! It wasn't too sweet and overpowering the matcha at all, probably my favorite strawberry matcha ever :) The bougie berry matcha was okay, I'll probably try something else next time.

i got the satsuma matcha w wheatgrass, oat, and smn else that i forgot - however don't let it scare you, tasted like a slightly milky matcha their regular cup is crazy tiny, and i would say the large is what most places sell as a regular overall mild flavor

I got the Strawberry Matcha latte and my fiance got the coco Hojicha. We both loved out drinks! Matcha very bold and earthy. Strawberry is subtle. No added sugar or sweetener. Perfect balance and not too sweet. My fiance really enjoyed the nutty notes of the Hojicha. Place is small but great for a little drop in to pick up a drink. It is street parking so that part was a bit tricky. Overall, loved the place and would come back!

No coffee here, just matcha! Chase Matcha Bar is a cute shop that serves creative matcha drinks. Before hitting the road back home to Houston, we made one last stop here. My friend ordered the houjicha latte, and compared to the last cafe we went to, we were a bit disappointed. The houjicha flavor was a bit lacking. My boyfriend ordered the strawberry matcha. You can't mess this up, it's definitely a crowd favorite. I love the presentation, the dried strawberries on top was a cute touch. Very creamy. The strawberry compote was good, however, they added too much. My boyfriend wished he tasted the matcha more. Lastly, I had the miso caramel. After trying my friend houjicha latte, I was a bit worried for mine... and rightfully so. I wasn't a big fan of the houjicha base, but I do think it tasted a bit better with the pistachio milk. I love the miso caramel sauce, but they definitely put way too much and it made the drink overly sweet :( If you like chocolate turtles, you'd definitely love this the miso caramel with pistachio milk. The roasted flavor profile from the houjicha with the miso caramel tasted similar to chocolate caramel, and the pistachio milk adds the nuttiness. I love the aesthetics and the creativity of the drinks. Service is also very fast. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I will be returning. I'm glad I was able to try it for the one time!

I was intrigued to learn about this weekend-only matcha bar. Since Eric R. got up early on this Sunday to ride his bike with a friend, I was up and ready to make the journey south and be at Chasen right when it opened at 9 AM. There was hardly any traffic so even though it seemed far away, I got there in under 20 minutes. I parked across the street and got in line at 8:59 AM - I was fourth. When I got up to the counter, there were two pastries available: slices of matcha swirl bread and a matcha bun. I decided just to get a drink since I bought matcha white chocolate milk bread from Mitsuwa yesterday. I ordered the Seion matcha latte, described as matcha sourced from nishio with notes of almond, brown butter, and oat blossom. It comes unsweetened which is fine with me, and I asked for almond milk. I sat at the only table in the little cafe until my name was called. The drink was very smooth and creamy. I then drove right back and finished the drink where I am staying. It is a fun place for matcha lovers and the matcha-curious, but it is too small to gather with anyone so just come in knowing it is to get a drink and go on your merry way. Itadakimasu!

I made the long trek from the burbs to downtown to get some matcha and it was worth it. This is a small little hidden spot with no name on the building, so it was a little hard to spot. I got the strawberry matcha with the sweet foam. I didn't expect to like it this much, but dang I finished in a couple gulps because it was dang goooood.

Simple and refined. Chasen Matcha Bar is a must stop and a great place to start a matcha journey. I will say I there is no outside sign above the shop but a small one out front. So when the map brings you to the location know it's correct just a hidden gem. The shop is small and inviting. I stopped by on a mid Sunday afternoon and got the Hinada matcha (spelling may be incorrect). It was freaking and the flavor notes phenomenal. I highly recommend Chasen Matcha Bar.

One of the top matcha spots in the DFW area. I've been 4-5 times by now. I'm not often in this part of town, but it's worth making the trip out. Only open on the weekends and can be easy to miss because they only have a shop front sign, it's just an A-frame board outside the shop, but I'm sure you'll see the line before the actual board. It's a walk up shop, so don't plan on having a seat and getting work done. Parking is limited but that's expected in this part of the city. I think my favorite order is the original iced matcha latte with oat milk, but the berry matcha, the strawberry matcha, and the hojicha lattes are also great. Also always look forward to their seasonal menu changes.

I recently visited Chasen Matcha Bar in Dallas and it did not disappoint. Their matcha is outstanding authentic, bold, and with depth of flavor.I tried the Taro Matcha, which was creamy, subtly sweet, and beautifully balanced.My partner ordered the Einspänner Matcha, and it came through with a lovely earthy tone that pairs perfectly with the milk and foam. The matcha here is delicious!! I got the taro cloud with oatmilk. They are mixing the matcha right in front of you which takes a little bit of time but that's how you know it's going to be good. The place itself is a little bit on the smaller side and there isn't really a lot of seating. This is a good matcha place if you are just looking to pick up a drink cause the parking can be a little difficult as well. Super cute shop! I dropped by here this morning and tried the miso caramel, upside-down strawberry, and house matcha. All three were delicious, the matcha tasted fresh and perfectly bloomed, and the miso caramel had a sweet salty flavor and toasty, nutty houjicha in it. None of them were too sweet, just the right amount. It's a small shop but the inside is really nicely decorated with some seating. It's called a bar for a good reason. Seemed pretty popular this morning! All the drinks were made on the counter, quickly and efficiently by the three staff. The costs of the drinks is in the menu picture, pretty standard. There is street parking outside the shop. The shop doesn't have a sign up above its entrance yet, so keep an eye out! read more

Love this place! The best matcha in DFW!! Their matcha drinks aren't sweet and not filled with so much sugar. The einspanner is my favorite but i wish they made it in a large since i finish it so fast. The house special is also good. The mango matcha is ok wouldn't get again. The service is really good but the place is really small with only street parking. They are only open Friday-Sunday, unsure why they aren't open everyday. read more

Some of the best matcha I have had in Dallas! Definitely worthwhile for a trip on the weekend. I got the taro cream top matcha and my boyfriend got the strawberry matcha. Both were delicious, and the taro cream top was a unique treat to the traditional matcha flavors. I appreciated the strong flavor of the matcha at Chasen, as oftentimes I am underwhelmed with the milk to matcha ratios at other matcha locations. It is a little pricey, but for good matcha I would come again. read more

Very small shop, If you would call it that. The place has a weird smell, but maybe the staff is used to it. Not the friendliest staff I've come across, they kinda just stare at you and continue conversing amongst themselves before you can "order here" - my greeting :( Matcha is subpar. I got the strawberry fields and the pulp is so thick it barely mixes into the matcha. Be sure to ask all the questions cause that's the only way you'll get any insight in the drinks. Drinks were good. Crazy Dallas highways (took multiple wrong turns) - Not sure it was worth the far drive. The location is very tiny, and there are no clear signs. It was also hard to find street parking. It was packed, but drinks were done fast. Most people knew to step outside once they got their drinks. There was no room indoor for hanging out. read more

This new matcha bar in dallas was super cute! I tried the strawberry matcha which was really good! The matcha taste is slightly bitter which balanced well with the sweet strawberry. The shop is pretty small with limited to no seating and the street parking is a bit tricky. read more

SO YUMMY. I'm so sad Chasen is so far away from my hometown and it's only open on weekends because I can definitely see myself grabbing a cup of matcha from here. It's a really small shop but in the ~10 minutes we were in here for, a lot of customers came in. My friend and I each ordered the strawberry match and the taro matcha. The strawberry was by far my favorite. The strawberry flavor is really apparent, and the matcha was mixed really well. They are hand mixing the matcha in front of you, so drinks do take a while to be made. However, like another reviewer said, that's how you know it's going to be good. They have a lot of other specialty drinks too so if I'm ever in the area, I'll definitely stop by and try their other offerings. The shop is also really aesthetic and cute. It's definitely not somewhere a lot of people can sit and study (I think there's only 4 chairs), but I think that's what makes the shop so cozy and cute. read more

Line was out the door on Sunday morning, def give yourself enough time to visit the popular Chasen Matcha Bar! The cafe itself is small, but they are pretty quick to make drinks and keep the line moving. I got the Taro Matcha with Almond milk. It came out to $8.50, crazy!!! It was good, but not great and expensive for a matcha. Glad I tried it, but it's hyped up in my opinion. read more

While they were getting our table ready, they brought us complimentary Prosecco, which was a really nice touch. The inside is honestly an experience by itself. You first walk through the main bar area, which is beautifully lit and decorated, and then you make your way into the main dining area where the whole atmosphere is just a complete vibe. Our table was already set up with a birthday card and flowers, which made the night feel even more special. Our server was amazing--super attentive, hilarious, and genuinely a great dude. He took his time explaining the menu and guided us in the right direction with our food selections. Now the Wagyu steak... absolutely PERFECT. Easily one of the top 3 steaks I've ever had, and honestly it might be #1. It was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender, and literally melted in my mouth. Every bite was worth it. They finished the night by bringing out a birthday dessert, which was the perfect ending to an already amazing dinner. Between the atmosphere, attention to detail, service, and food, Evelyn really made the birthday celebration feel special. 10/10 all around. I would HIGHLY recommend checking this place out, especially for a birthday, date night, or special occasion. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

My favorite item on the menu was the love you lox toast and they completely changed it. It used to be a thick piece of sourdough with fresh cream cheese and now it is on a bagel with super liquidy cheese.

Sad to see our latest Uptown Dumpling experience fall short of the five star experience we had in…read moreour previous visit. I remember our last time here loving everything, but this time some of the same items really missed the mark. To start, we ordered the Shrimp and Pork Xiao Long Buns just like the last time. Even though we asked that they arrive before the main entrees, they arrived maybe 3 minutes before. The wait for them was pretty long, and when it arrived we figured out why. I think the they were ready a while back, but our waitress just didn't get them out to us on time. As a result, the dumplings were not hot. It really degraded the experience of the dish. We also had the orange chicken and Sichuan DanDan noodles. The flavors in the chicken were good, but the ends of the chicken were kind of tough, and the noodles seems kind of slapped together with not enough sauce. There was barely any sesame paste. The last time I had these noodles, there were perfect, so it was really disappointing to have this batch be so off. The waitress was pretty inattentive throughout our meal later on, a manager checked in on us, and we had to ask her for the check since our waitress was no where to be found. Overall, we left with a bad impression of this meal. Knowing the Uptown Dumpling is capable of so much more is just a tough pill to swallow. We really loved our last experience here, but this most recent visit was a disaster. It may be a while before we decide to dine here again.
