Let me start off by saying, this is my first review ever. Never cared about or was disappointed enough to spend any time to write one. That was until I hired Glendale's Cheap Movers. I read the yelp reviews and I should have sniffed out that they were bogus. I mean, how many people remember the names of all three movers, and why doesn't anyone post how much money they charged? Still, when manager Dave (Hey, I did remember his name) told me this was a set fee there would be no unseen extra charges, I figured these guys would do just fine.... How wrong I was. Dave promised to have a truck at my place Thursday sometime from 1 to 2... They arrived at 4pm. Dave said there was no extra charges for materials if I packed all my own boxes. (Not only did I do that but carried them all to the garage for easy access). The movers however, said it would cost me an additional $500 in bubble wrap for the TV's and marble end table. One guy even said, "Had you told us you had glass, we would have informed you that's extra." I guess most people watch TV with holograms now. And lastly, Dave said a 1000 sq. ft. house usually takes 4 to 5 hours. The movers said it would probably take between 6 and 8. Based on how long it took them to casually survey my small home, I believe this to be true. Before the new estimate got any bigger, I thanked them and dismissed them. I would not use their services. Bought $30 in bubble tape from Home Depot. Paid $166 for the Uhaul truck with blankets, hand truck and insurance. And 50 bucks for a few Subways and a beer for three friends to help me out. Took us 2.5 Hours to load the truck. 1/2 hour to drive to the new house. And 45 min. to unload everything. It killed my back but Dave and Glendale's Cheap movers would have destroyed my bank account. Fantastic!! As our first experience using a professional moving company, we were pleasantly surprised from start to finish. Johnny was our initial point person and gave us a very clear estimate with a guaranteed flat rate price after visiting our house. He was very communicative, always answered his phone and responded quickly to e-mails. The team scheduled for the day of our move was headed by foreman Dennis. They arrived promptly, a crew of 6, and immediately got to work. They worked non-stop, full of hustle and very efficient. Our delicate items and all furniture were wrapped professionally, shrink-wrapped, taped and blanketed, to protect them from damage. Everything was packed into the truck very much like Tetris, quickly and very well organized to avoid anything slipping around. They worked the same when unloading at our temporary storage unit destination, and had everything done within about an hour. From Johnny to Dennis to the entire crew, everyone was professional, friendly and hard-working. We appreciate their job well done and will gladly use them again or refer them to anyone else. Jason and Tony were AMAZING!!!! These two helped me move from my one bedroom apt on the east side to my new place in Venice. They arrived right on the dot, with a 60 minute call ahead to give me time to prep. They were efficient, reviewed their policy right when they arrived, and soooo professional (wrapped every piece of furniture and didn't damage a thing!). We had a bit of a tricky situation at my new apt, where they had to walk a good 60 yards to and fro the truck to move everything in, plus up a flight of stairs to get to my apt, but they took on the challenge with grace and still maintained their speed. Overall, I had a great experience with this company and would highly recommend these guys! They made a very daunting thing - moving a fully furnished apt across LA - into something bearable and actually easy! Alberto, Elmer and Lavain moved my daughter and her roommate to their respective homes after they graduated. They called and let me know that they were on their way and they even arrived early. Considering it was well over 104 degrees in the Valley on Saturday, they got the job done while making it look easy. They had to load the truck for the two drop offs and deal with the elevators in the apartment building the girls were moving out of, but that did not affect their attitudes nor did the joys of LA traffic. If something was marked they pointed it out or when they had to disassemble some of the furniture, they made sure to put the pieces into a bag so they could reassemble it at the other end. We were very pleased with their professionalism, attitude and quality of their work. I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

Alex, Saul and Victor are awesome. My experience began before I even met them. When I called, I received several options in terms of their rate and was even sent an electronic copy of our contract (this has never happened before and we have moved many times before). They arrived right on the dot and were professional the entire time. They continuously checked to see if I needed more boxes made and if I had enough packing paper. Each and every time that I asked them a question or had a concern, Alex eased my concerns and literally made the weirdest things be moved possible. I recently moved from koreatown to glendale from a two bedroom to a one bedroom apartment. They called before the move to confirm and worked with me even though I was not very prepared in my move. They moved things quickly and efficiently, and they were very professional. Great service from Victor and Zolt!! Thanks! I just hired this company again for a move from Glendale to Palmdale. Tony, Sam and Fernie laid down the law on our old place. We have 3 (young) kids and didn't want to expose them to too much of the moving nightmare. We decided to live in our place for as long as we possible can without turning our home inside out and have the movers come in and pack everything for us in the coarse of two full days. We had Sasha, Tony and Ryslan to move our things, and after a few days of nonstop cram packing, we were super glad to have these guys lug our things up up a bunch of stairs for us. Great service through and through. Alberto, the team leader (along with Elmer and Bobby), was the consummate professional and obviously very experienced. They were fast, thorough, and friendly! (You wanted me to say sharp as tacks, admit it.) I was most concerned about my heavy 1950s gas stove, but they wrapped it well and treated it with kid gloves.
