On lunch from work, I called in the griefo veggie sandwich for pickup. The person on the phone was a little hurried and not super friendly. Chalked it up to the lunch hour rush. Sandwich was packed full of veggies and cream cheese, all fresh. The bread seemed to break under the weight of the ingredients but tasted good. I know it's a veggie sandwich, but next time, I'd add turkey, and I think it would be a great sandwich. They do have a build your own option. It was a bit pricey for what I thought was a smaller than normal sandwich. read more

We came here this weekend because I was personally told "you have to try Cheba". I saw all of the choices and decided on the French dip. I can't recall what it's called at the sandwich shop. We also got the power plant sandwich for a friend and a bbq chicken sandwich as well. The consensus is that all of the sandwiches were great. The only issue was that the au jus had olives in it. This was a not so pleasant surprise. Maybe the olives suck in and they weren't supposed to be there. I would come back for sure. I also saw the amazing looking cookies in the case and had to ask if they're soft. Luckily they were soft and I got one for us to share. Sometimes when I am craving a sandwich Cheba Hut is the place I go to! Love me a toasted sub! I have quite a few favorites, but my top three are the Jamaican Red, Kali Mist and Thai Stick. The Jamaican Red has grilled chicken breast, black olives, green bell peppers, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion pickle, jalapenos, hot sauce and shake & house dressing. The Kali Mist is a roasted turkey breast, bacon, jalapenos, avocado, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle chipotle mayo and shake & house dressing. The Thai stick is more sweet and it has a grilled chicken breast, green bell peppers, pineapple, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, teriyaki and shake & house dressing. All these are so dang good! If you haven't been to Cheba Hut you really should give them a try! So much better than Jimmy Johns, Subway or Jersey Mikes. read more

As far as sandwich chains go Cheba Hut is my favorite! Definitely an ASU/college staple! I love their creative menu. My absolute fave is the Kali Mist- turkey, bacon, chipotle mayo, jalapenos, pepperjack, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. A close second would be the White Widow- chicken, bacon, and ranch. La Canna and Midwest Best are good but they just don't have the punch that the Kali Mist does! I will say a downfall is that Cheba takes FOREVER to make when you order... this is pretty much everytime I've gone. Order online/ahead and skip the inevitable wait! read more

Walking into the restaurant was good vibes customer service from devin was great as a new employee. The restaurant had visible sani buckets and was nice and clean. First time eating at a Cheba Hut outside of where I live. Always expect a good sandwich that is delicious. This location lived up to it too! Busy as expected, to go orders, dining in and takeout. Small bar of 6 seats, but plenty of tables to sit at. The bartender was nice & helpful. She checked on me from time to time during my visit. The sandwich was fresh, delicious and came out in a reasonable amount of time. My PBR beer tasted a bit weird, might have been at the end of the tap. Overall good experience and left with leftovers. Cheba hut has some amazing subs. They seem to use high-quality ingredients and put care into making the sub. I'm only giving it two stars because I went in to get dinner today and ordered two sandwiches and it was a 33 minute wait. They did seem busy but I feel like 33 minutes for a sandwich is an extremely long time. That's longer than it takes to make almost every other food in existence. Alas, I've just kind of given up on this beloved used-to-be favorite. I was already disappointed in the results of the last time I ordered when I was living closer to a different store location (I mean, for being 5 minutes away that was a pretty bad quality of delivery for "fresh"), so I figured maybe since I moved, it would be a better experience with a different location? No. I didn't even get to order. Because I'm stuck here working after hours, delivery is necessary. However- you cannot customize or modify anything to preference on any of their online platforms. Not through DoorDash, Uber Eats, not even via their own app. Not only does that pose a problem for anyone with allergies, but i'm certainly not going to pay for what I don't want included or can't even customize at all. The modification options are secluded to what they've pre-selected. I could not remove mushrooms from The Kind (which is not hard to just NOT add them!)... so, I tried the "build your own" under veggie subs. Only, every meat selection BESIDES turkey breast is available. Apparently you cannot remove or substitute to your preference or dietary needs at all unless they deem it an option. So, ultimately I can't order since I can't physically make it to the store to visit in person. I don't know if whomever created the online platforms indulged too much in their motto before executing, but it's rendered useless for some of us. And after the last delivery was sub-par, this effort doesn't seem worth it anymore. They used to be good... but I don't even want to bother anymore. Not if I can't even add or remove an ingredient that is very common. And, you can't call in for delivery- they tell you it has to go through the website or platform. So if you take that route- you're stuck with what they select for you, not what you actually want. Likely will not even attempt this again. I miss the classic 2007 establishment that never had any constraints or issues, even if that meant visiting in person. The technological upgrades seem to have rendered them incapable over the last decade. read more

I was skeptical at first but I've got to hand it to them - they make really delicious sandwiches! I ordered the AK47 (French dip) and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was soft including the bread, and the meat and cheese were delicious. The dining area was clean and the music wasn't too loud to prevent all conversation. I appreciated the little styling details, particularly the printed Ice Cube picture on the soda machine. I'm only taking one star off for the wait. As others mentioned, it took a really long time for sandwiches to come out. Only pickup! Too bad, because the stoner theme seems awesome and I want to experience it soon. Got The Jamaican nugget, but I wish I got the blunt, because that sandwich was great and I wanted more once I finished it at home. The spicy sauce was delicious and the chicken was seasoned so well. Off of the munchies menu, we got the brownie and the Rice Krispies bar. Really enjoyed the brownie, as it was not dry, like most brownies are. Do not go to this location! The management is horrible and delivery of food is just as bad. Tuesday at 11:15 AM, I place my order at the counter and was informed it would be a 15 minute wait. I took a seat and waited. Thirty-five minutes later still no sandwich so I questioned the "to go" person on my order status and was told it would be another 20 minutes. I requested a refund and left. There are far too many other good sandwich shops to eat at that can make and serve a sandwich in less than an hour. BTW there was a Jimmy Johns in the same plaza. I went through the drive-thru, was the second car in line and had my sandwich and was gone in under 5 minutes. They understand customer service!
