    Kali Mist - close up

By far one of the best sandwich places I've been to. Not only are the sandwiches absolutely delicious, but the atmosphere is so vibey. The entire restaurant is very inviting, laidback, and so chill. Of all the sandwiches being offered, the Kali Mist is king. A club sandwich, but made spicy?! Sign me up! And don't get mistaken either, these sandwiches arrive open-face, because they are too big to close. Haha, they are so damn good! Lastly, one of the coolest things I've ever seen at a restaurant: Kool-Aid... on tap. So smart.

Located in a small strip mall near campus, this spot has a great laid-back atmosphere and a visibly clean kitchen. While the app gave inconsistent pickup estimates (ranging from 5 to 35 minutes), the staff was friendly when we arrived. We did have a few order accuracy issues--wrong dressing and extra peppers despite asking for none--but the food itself was tasty. The bread was perfectly soft, and I'd definitely give them another shot.

11/23/25: I don't know what I like better: the sammies or the huge Rice Krispy treats. :-) I haven't been to Cheba in years, mostly because I try to avoid the ASU area when school is in session, but this particular day I wanted a great sandwich, from somewhere not overly-franchised (such as Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's). Cheba did not disappoint. I had the Pakalolo & it was just as delicious as I remembered from years ago. A couple weeks later we didn't feel like making dinner so we stopped in again; this time I ordered the 5-0. Once again, another delicious sandwich. From the decor, to the food, to the staff, Cheba Hut is a delight.

The white widow with avocado is my favorite. The drinks are always so smooth and refreshing, really good for cotton mouth. The vibes are always welcoming and chill. I'm definitely going to be back.

Asked for extra extra cucumbers on my sammie, and let's just say they didn't disappoint. LOVE this location. Staff is friendly. Always clean. And the cookies are the bomb.

FRESH MUNCHIES & GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! 2/21/25 night staff was kind!! I'm so sad I forgot her name. My sandwich was amazing it did take a little bit so they gave me a free munchie . It was busy and the music was great.

I've left a couple of not-so-great reviews in the past year--not out of spite, but because I genuinely believe this place has so much potential and had fallen short. That said, I owe a big apology because tonight reminded me why I loved it in the first place. Jaden was an absolute legend--personable, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything was spot on. You could tell he cared, and that made all the difference. This place is officially back as my go-to. I'm really glad I gave it another shot. Jaden, thank you for the smooth service, good vibes, and keeping the beer coming. And to Cheba, my bad for the past reviews--this one was a whole different level.

I had never been here before and the staff were super helpful in making recommendations. I'm glad I took their advice because the chicken bacon ranch sandwich was soooo good! I also grabbed a couple gooey balls to try and they were delicious! Truely live up to their name.

Afterwards, he mentioned that he tasted it and agreed about our comments- I appreciate that level of attention. Shortly after, the food arrived. Spicy pork tacos for me, and BLTA for my wife. The tacos looked a little overdressed. I was so wrong. Flavor and texture were balanced perfectly. The tortillas were firm, but again, perfectly suited to the juicy pork, that had a teriyaki vibe. Sprouts, carrot and cucumber toppings worked well, despite my expectations. The BLTA was HUGE. Great flavor. Both entrees were ordered with sweet potato fries. Unusual cut to them, but seasoned perfectly. I paired mine with chipotle aioli and ate every last one. My only complaint is that I'm only spending one evening in the Phoenix area, and won't be back soon. I would eat this food three times a week without hesitation.

I took off onions and bacon. My husband had it just the way it comes. We really enjoyed those. The black beans it came with was absolutely delish My daughter and her hubby ordered the grilled cheese. My daughters came with pear spiced bread - tasted like raisin bread - none of us cared for it. Service was good. Not a place we would go back to. I do like that all salads could be turned in to a wrap. The drink menu looked fun. Cute atmosphere- you should secure a reservation.

They serve salads, bowls, sandwiches, all-day breakfast, protein shakes, fresh juices, and other healthy, fast-casual eats for dine-in or take-away. My kind of place! This is one of those spots that I'd frequent if I lived nearby (ChopShop, want to open in Northern California?!). I stumbled upon this spot after a little self-guided tour of ASU campus on a sleepy Sunday morning (everyone must have been asleep after the big football game the day before). I'd forgotten about this spot and it was such a happy surprise to find it again and to see that they survived the pandemic and are still thriving. First visit I ordered: -Cheat Day Wrap: scrambled egg, bacon, white cheddar, smashed avocado, tomato, brown rice (I ordered without rice), and turkey or ham (I skipped these too) *DELISH on a whole wheat wrap!!! Full of flavor and super easy to eat. This hearty breakfast sando fueled my active morning of hiking "A" Mountain (Hayden Butte Preserve) the running around the the IronMan course to spectate (30,000+ steps as a spectator!). We couldn't leave town without another trip. I took my guy and we enjoyed a salad, another breakfast wrap, and: -Chicken + Prosciutto Sandwich: grilled chicken, prosciutto, fontina, arugula, fig mostarda, dijon (no dijon for us), on a house bun. If you're in the area, looking for a healthy-ish breakfast, lunch, or snack, definitely check out Original ChopShop. Note: it gets busy at peak meal hours with students and faculty. Order at the kiosks (super easy), grab a number, find a table in their cozy interior or on their large front patio, and your food will be brought to you. Have a question? Just ask - the staff were very friendly and helpful in guiding our choices. And I love that they allow modifications to most menu items! We'll be back!!!

It had duck bacon (was curious about this bc I'm not a fan of duck), turkey sausage, black beans, quinoa, egg, spinach and more. Somehow that entire medley was perfection when it comes to flavor. We were welcomed with a friendly smile. We explained that the other half of our party was on their way & the host promptly prepared our table... mostly. There were small plates set for each of us, but only one roll-up/napkin (for 4) & no drink menu. Minor details, but it kinda set the tone for the service experience. Now listen... the spot itself is cute. Once we actually got service, our waiter was cool. It just took forevvverrrrr & I ended up having to request cutlery after food was served. To be fair, it was busy, but there also seemed to be plenty of wait staff, so I'm not exactly sure where the disconnect was. Food-wise: the spinach artichoke dip was definitely the table favorite. My caprese panini was ok, it was sadly lacking pesto which feels a little criminal for a caprese situation. Our friends loved the fancy French toast & I was absolutely there for the prickly pear mimosas The entire brunch honestly felt like it was one dropped plate away from becoming a sitcom episode. One poor new waiter dropped a plate on the floor, then later knocked glasses off the rack above the bar & shattered a couple right next to guests sitting there. I genuinely felt bad for him because you could tell he was having a rough shift. That said, I really appreciated that they acknowledged the long wait & gave us a discount without us having to ask. That kind of accountability goes a long way. Overall, I'd still go back & give them another try because the atmosphere was fun, the vibe was there, and I can see the potential. Every restaurant has an off day -- especially during a busy brunch rush.
