Absolutely laughable. I booked a service appointment for a specific time and a specific tire model and brand. I show up at the exact time for the service. The service manager, Sean OUM then informed me the specific tire model that they had booked that specific service appointment for me for, is not available. Of course not. You get baited into a business under a false and unavailable offer and when you show up, they switch and attempt to fleece you. He starts explaining away having lured me into their shop with a nonexistent product that is not with them with a beautiful tale that it is indeed available in the greater region, but not at their store. He then proceeds to switch the offer to a much more expensive alternative. Classic bait and switch fraud. I don't want to work with businesses that have drifted into baking fraud into their routine operation and corporate culture. I told him that they had lied to me by representing a product in the service that was not available. That highly offended him and he told me to leave immediately or he would call the police. The only good thing about this location is that the oil changes are slightly cheaper, but that's it. Any other services, especially engine-related services, are better done elsewhere. I wouldn't even trust the "courtesy inspections" that come with the oil changes. I drive an old vehicle and last year I was quoted a massive $2300 for some critical+non-critical engine work (not engine replacement) and couldn't believe what I was hearing. I price checked with another local shop and that place quoted me only $1450 for that same job. After bringing this up to WW, they offered to cut back on some of the "recommended work" to bring the quote down to $1275. Once again I price checked with the other shop who quoted me only $700 for the exact same job. That's an 82% markup! All WW could do was offer a "generous" $100 discount and some lip service about how they "use only genuine OEM parts". If I wanted to get scammed I would've gone to the dealership. On top of all that, last year following a routine inspection, the WW team "recommended" additional brake work for $800 but their competitor just inspected my car today and said that I wasn't due for any brake work. So it's clear to me that WW is in the business of nickel -and-diming their customers while pretending they're just providing top notch service. Even if their oil changes are a little cheaper here, out of principle I refuse to provide them with any further revenue. They lure you in with the affordable oil changes and then squeeze you with all sorts of "highly recommended" but ultimately unnecessary services. I rarely have bad experiences as a customer but I deeply regret ever having patronized this establishment. read more

I took my car to this location for a tire repair because one of my tires kept losing air. They inspected it and told me the nail in the tire hadn't actually punctured it, so all they did was add air and send me on my way. I specifically asked the employee, "So you're not going to check anywhere else on the tire to see where the leak might be coming from?" I was told they couldn't repair something if they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I then asked for a receipt showing what work had been performed and any notes regarding the inspection. To my surprise, the paperwork had a customer signature on it that was not mine. The next morning, I checked the same tire and, sure enough, it was low on air again. I filled it up and returned to the shop, explaining that the tire was still leaking. Once again, they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I asked if they had actually submerged the tire in water or used any other method to check for leaks. They said they had, but still couldn't find the issue. At that point, I left because they offered no solutions, no recommendations, and no options--just told me the car was ready. I then took my car to Calderon's on Bascom. I explained the situation to one of the employees there, and within about five minutes he called me outside and showed me exactly where the leak was coming from. I couldn't believe it. A young technician found the problem almost immediately, while the technicians at Wheel Works couldn't locate it after two visits and claimed they had thoroughly inspected the tire. Based on my experience, I seriously question whether the tire was ever properly checked at Wheel Works. If it had been submerged and inspected correctly, the leak should have been found. If you're looking for tire repair, I would not recommend Wheel Works at Alum Rock and Capitol. My experience was disappointing, and I felt that the issue was not properly diagnosed despite multiple visits. read more

Updated review: Lon Goldstein called me back. He said he was at a conference in Florida so he called me back as soon as he could. I have no reason doubt this. I don't need an alignment right now, but I will try again at this location in the future. When I asked Lon what should I do if I get denied service again, he said to call him directly. I've saved his number in my contacts now. Let's see how this goes. I'll update my review/ratings when I try to get an alignment done at a later date. Original review: This location will not honor the Lifetime Alignment if you purchase it from a different location. I've contacted their customer service. It got escalated to Lon Goldstein (Area Manager). Lon called (unfortunately I missed the call) and left me a voicemail with his direct line. Sounds good so far. I called back same day about 2 hours later. Goes to voicemail. That's fine. I'll just try again the next day. I called again the next day. Left a voicemail. Nothing. I just tried calling today. Left another voicemail. I don't think it should be this difficult. In an age where emails and texting exist, calling shouldn't be the only option. I understand that I'm just one small customer, but Lon is really showing me the level of customer service I should expect from this company. This past Sunday I brought my car in for some road noise I was having from one of the tires they installed. After inspecting They found that the tire is cupping, even though the car is in perfect alignment, and the tires are nearly brand new. I went here for tires and ONLY tires. They don't bother checking your other tires if you have a single flat tire. They also find non-existent issues with your engine in order to squeeze you dry. I had previously gotten new batteries in another location and they said I needed new batteries after fixing a flat. That is insanely shady. read more

I don't know if I want to bring my business to this particular location. One year ago I purchased full set of tires for my car, with the purchase they offered me a deal for the future; rotating tires, alignment and so on. So today I took my vehicle to get the service but ones I got there the only one that was there was ALex who was not very nice to me after he found out I was not going to pay for the service that it was paid at front. He was mean.He ask me , what do you want " you tell me ! So I explained to him what I need to be done but he was moody and with attitude. I told him I was going to come back later hopping to get someone else but unfortunately when I went back he was the only one there, he was talking on the phone, he never acknowledge me or anything, so a-few minutes he asked me leave the key and he will call me while he still talking on the phone. I walkout but then I come back in and asked him for a order form for me to take with me, then he told me " don't worry everything is going to be free " which is not free because I paid in advance for that service. The day when I purchased the package the treatment was totally different, attentive and with kindness. Dishonest and inefficient service. I paid a lot for the alignment guarantee. At the paying time, they completed the service at a reasonable time. After that, they made it very hard to get the service guarantee done. I stopped by the store a few times and they rejected my service request because they said I didn't have an appointment. However, when I made appointment and got their confirmation, they still kept me waiting. I brought my car in at 9:00 AM for alignment, waited until 12:30 PM and the work was not started. Their excuse was that they were very busy. What is the point of having appointment and they still don't want to commit to their confirmation? Got a flat tire on my right rear wheel this morning so towed the car to my usual place, Wheel Works. Mike told me that I need to replace the all 4 tires because my car was 4 wheel drive. I told him it was ok to replace one tire, but he said NO. Even said it was mandatory to replace all 4 wheels and did not listen my request at all. Is it mandatory as a company policy or it was his own standard? Anyway, I called an another towing company and towed the car to America's tire immediately. They clarified that is not a mandatory, it is just highly recommended to replace 4 wheels with 4 WDs. I am very disappointed at Wheel Works and how Mike treated me. And he came up with an attitude like 'take it or leave it' as I am sure he does this to all the 4 wheel drive owners. The entire quote was $1200 versus $250 for just replacing one tire. 4 wheel drive owners, don't bother going to this place. Incredibly rude. I made an appointment online for a wheel alignment, and I received a voicemail saying I saying I "scheduled at the wrong store." I called to confirm that I intentionally scheduled at their store (I usually go to a different location). He then proceeded to tell me they couldn't accommodate my appointment since they were busy due to a sale they are having this weekend. I felt very dismissed. I honestly felt like he was just trying to get me to go to a different location since I had a "free" wheel alignment since I purchased the lifetime wheel alignment warranty. I used to frequent the Wheel Works on Tully but decided to boycott that location since the former manager left (along with the elite customer service she prided her store in). The customer service at the Tully site is horrible. I live in the East Foothills so Alum Rock is a lot closer to me anyway. I've been to this location 3 times for different reasons -- all issues were resolved the same afternoon and the client service was spot on. Courteous and efficient. Appointments can be made same day but I believe they take their last appointment around 4pm. The store manager is great. He's been with the company for some time so has a great humor and can keep you entertained with his jokes while you wait in the lobby. Pricing is pretty standard for oil changes, tires, etc. I believe they have special financing options if you sign up for a WheelWorks credit card. To my WheelWorks and affiliates' corporate folks looking for customer satisfaction reviews: remember, these types of businesses thrive on excellent customer service delivery. It is what warrants loyalty to a specific location or even brand. You should ask your Tully store to take notes from your Alum Rock store -- otherwise, you could risk losing a whole pool of loyal clientele. read more

Don't come here unless you are a willing sucker. My wife liked this place because there is no line. The reason is obvious. Mike there quoted $500 for changing 4 spark plugs. I asked why that much? He said his shop takes 3 hours to change 4 spark plugs. The bill turned out to be $504.72, of which $324 was for labor and $180.72 for 4 spark plugs. I confronted Mike that a few Youtube DIY says it takes 40 minutes for my made and model, and many sites said that a skill mechanics takes 30 minutes. Their expert mechanic would take 3 hours? Now, Mike changed his time, and said that his mechanics spent hour and a half changing my spark plugs. He gave me a $50 discount. I asked him how much his shop charges per hour. He said he did not know. He had to ask someone else. I telephoned later and asked the same question and he still did not know. Those same 4(four) 97506 spark plugs sell for $54.94 at Amazon and $60 at Walmart. That is a mark up of almost 4 times. Fair mark up? If the labor quote was for 3 hours and they did it over one and a half hours what would a fair resolution? Three hours was a lie! A1 Auto in Fremont quoted $262 for spark plus and labor. I had to pay Wheelworks $454. I heard that they match other peoples' prices, may be just for tires. No, they did not on this service. Was that good value? Vung Tau charges half as much as Wheelworks. Even Fremont BMW charges much less. Predatory pricing and very poor value for your money. They charged me $324 for 30 minutes of actual work and marked up their parks close to 400%. I bought a $1000.00 of tires and they said they would rotate them at no charge. That was great but when I made an appointment to have my tires rotated at a specific time they told me it would be 2-1/2 hours! It takes maybe 15 minutes to rotate a set of tires but they do not schedule their time they just expect you to show up and wait. I will not buy tires here again with such lousy service. read more

Bought my tires and shipped over here. Made a morning appointment. Arrived and Mike helped me with my order I received. Honestly I feel like this guy need to smile. Anyways, I bought new rims and wanted the rims mount onto the tires with my Rays lug nuts. I explain to mike that the lug need to be torque to instruction on the lug nut packaging of 104 ft lb. Disregarded everything I said. "All Honda need 84 ft lb." Which is not true per owner manual that I pointed out that his car usually need 94 ft lb torque with stock lug nuts. Dismissed what I said and later came out saying. "My bad bro. it's 94 ft lb torque for your car." Geez...like I said earlier. Would it kill you to listen once in awhile. Car was finished and pulled to the front. My original rims and tires were not in the car, which Mike felt lazy enough not to go get them. I had to pull to the back and haul those rims/tires in my trunk. Noted my new lug nut were stratched when the installed the wheels. Later I drove off and noted my hood was very shaky. pulled over off the road on the free way. Turns out they popped the hood and forgot to close it. Honestly there is no reason to pop the hood to change wheels. 3 months later tried to check the torque on the lug nuts...defined over torque past 104 ft lb. Mike think he knows what he talks about but doesn't even know what's going on at all. "We're gonna do 84 ft lb....Sorry bro...It's 94 ft lb...." but his team torque past 104 ft lb. A word of advice to you Mike. Take pride in what you do! If you don't know what you are talking about then learn from others. Don't be arrogant and pretend to know it all. I don't care if you worked in the industry 20 plus years. Things change...if you don't change then you don't know the new stuff! If you look at all the reviews from this place. After driving for 12 years, I finally experienced a flat tire. I went to my usual spot, Hung Auto Repair, for my car service but they don't do tires so they recommended Wheel Works. I didn't realize WW did so many services! I was very impressed with their service (especially Alex at the front counter). They were super professional, kind, patient and gave exceptional service. I was never pressured and they weren't just trying to take my money. Ive always only used Goodyear and they didn't have them but they had something comparable. I didn't make an appointment but yet they finished in an hour on a Saturday afternoon. They called me when it was ready but they also have a nice waiting space (basic but clean) with a tv. Generally, I give Wheelworks 4 stars; but on this incident, even one is too many! I decided to purchase (and install) tires for my Lexus from Wheel Works (Oak Ridge shop, 877 BLOSSOM HILL RD, SAN JOSE) on 11/10/2022, to save money; turned out they set me back $1400 by damaging (or swapping - 99% sure!) my perfectly working tire pressure reading system, and they will not do the right thing to fix/replace what they damaged. The manager "John Sanchez" has played dumb, and on this and 2 other occasions claimed he reprogrammed my sensors and took off with my car for about an hour and a half (for a so-called test drive) to the point that I complained that I need my car and had them bring the car back. HE HAS GIVEN ME THE RUN AROUND FOR THE PAST 8 MONTHS! If this part swap, of my perfectly working tire pressure system, was done without Sanchez's knowledge, he has NO business running a shop. ... If it was with his knowledge, indicates his lack of morality! (BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION) I should add, ..... I have had better experiences with other Wheel Works!!! womp womp the people there are pretty chill at the desk, well they seem to be so you feel comfortable and gain their trust. came in for an an inspection and afterwards they told me i needed a new rack pinion assembly a new cv axle which i indeed did need a front engine mount and idk what more but they wanted to charge me $3k in repairs with half being labor for the rack and pinion assembly. They said there was excessive play and it was going out but I went to a trusted mechanic who told me that the rack and pinion was fine absolutely nothing wrong with it as well as the engine mounts. I did get an alignment a week or so after and they told me my alignment would not be perfect because "my rack and pinion assembly" was worn out. but yet once again it was absolutely fine. these people are a scam. DO NOT COME HERE THEY WILL take ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!!!!!!!! read more

Oh, how I wish I could give 10 negative stars. Had 10 am alignment appt Kiely location. Was told it would be 1 hr to 1.5 hr. Walked to nearby Walmart and came back to Wheelworks at 11 am. THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED ON THE CAR. I have never had a good experience with this company whether at this location or Prospect location. I canceled the appt. which did not seem to bother the guy at the desk. No "I'm sorry" or "Would you like to make another appt. for a different day?" The other thing that they do is find things "wrong with your car." When I take it to my mechanic he says, "They're just trying to swindle you for unnecessary repairs. BEWARE!! It is a shame I cannot give zero star rating.... Booked to have 6 tires changed on my son's Ford F350. 'dualie'' truck. This was booked on-line where we confirmed both the make and model of vehicle and number of tires to be fitted. It was also confirmed in writing by Wheel Works. When we turned up at the allotted time we were told the tires were not yet in, and even worse, they could not fit them to the vehicle due to the double wheel axle. No call to advise us of either fact. The staff blame 'someone' for incorrectly confirming the order and with no apology nor attempt to try and helps resolve the issue. My son had flown in from UK to have his truck brought up to roadworthy condition, with limited time to do all of the work. A wasted afternoon and now puts us in place where we have to find an alternative place to fit the tires with limited time. Bottom line = I will NEVER do any business with Wheel Works EVER AGAIN! I scheduled an appointment online to get my oil changed. For some reason, the name of the appointment was changed to my brother's name even though I filled out my information online. The guy I was checking-in with was not friendly AT ALL. After realizing that my appointment was booked under my brother's name he just stared at me awkwardly. He didn't say anything to me or even ask me to fill-up any forms so I asked him, "do I just leave my keys with you or?" and he responded, "Yea, give me the keys." He grabbed the keys from me and started to walk away before I stopped him to ask him if he knew how long it would take. He replied back with, "An hour." By the way, at the time of my appointment waiting inside wasn't allowed. I was pretty surprised about the wait so I walked outside so I could call a Lyft to take me home. As I'm waiting outside at the corner of the shop, I see another employee go to my car. Let's just say I heard him struggle so hard to move my car to the back that I could smell my clutch. My Lyft was going to take 15 minutes to pick me up and it was going to cost $15 to go 3 miles so I decided to just walk around the plaza and get some food. After 10 minutes of walking around I noticed my car parked in front of the shop again. Was it... done? I checked my phone and I didn't receive any text or call. This is where I messed up by not checking in with them. I continued to walk up and down the plaza for another 10 minutes before I decided to get the nerve to check up on my car (I ended up just calling because I didn't want to deal with the employee). The guy who picked up the phone was friendly and told me my car was ready and apologized that no one called me. When I got back to the shop, the guy who moved my car and the guy who I gave my keys to were walking back inside with drinks so I'm guessing they came back from a lunch break. Anyways, the older gentleman who answered the phone was also the same person who rang me up. He was funny and I loved his customer serves, which is why I added an extra star.
