Visited Cheddars for the first time today and we were super impressed. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered a pain killer cocktail, loved the toasted coconut rim! For my lunch I had the Cajun pasta, very flavorful with generous portions of shrimp, chicken and sausage in the pasta. Will be visiting again soon! read more

Slightly above average American food chain is how I would describe Cheddars. The menu has a few more elevated options than TGIFridays for example, but it's definitely the same general feel. Service was slow and our waitress seemed confused/frazzled through most of our meal. We stopped in on a weekday late afternoon, so it wasn't busy. Overall I thought the food sounded better on the menu than what I actually ate. I'd say it's a fair option in the mall area and on par with the other chain restaurants, possibly slightly better. read more

The quality of the food that I expected from such a nice place was a little under par. The baked potatoes were super dry and super bland. The steak that I had got in my philly cheese steak sandwich was rather greasy and shiny. And the sweet iced tea that I got was very stale and tasted weeks old. Overall the restaurant is very attractive and has a nice atmosphere. The food is even quite good. However, the service is beyond poor which I experienced on several visits. I really wanted to love this place. We had a take out order. My husbands fried chicken was really really good. I ordered the ribeye. Medium rare. With pink. I received a thin little piece of practically beef jerky it was so tough and done. My husband had a loaded baked potato. It wasn't good. Maybe dining in is better. Ordered the Monte Cristo...was missing raspberry sauce and powdered sugar. Philly cheese steak was average at best... the bun was too thick and not toasted, no onions or peppers; Just steak, cheese and mushrooms. And the " Made from scratch" sides... I don't think so! I so wanted this to be good, but it failed on many accounts and excelled in others. I will try this place again in the future. I ordered the 12 oz ribeye, med rare. The steak that came was barely 3/8 if an inch thick. I've had bigger minute steaks. Acclaimed to be highly marbled, it was, with gristle. Too thin to be properly cooked, some was med rare, most was med well and flavorless. 1.5 stars at best. The sautéed mushrooms were very good as was the broccoli, cheddar casserole. The wife had the chicken pot pie, outstandingly delicious. 4 1/2 stars! The side salads both garden and Caesar, were mediocre at best. The bottled beer was insanely overpriced. On Tuesday night my family and I came in to celebrate a birthday we were a group of 9 with a baby in a high chair and we waited over an hour for a table although people with groups of 6 were seated upon arrival we were told 20 min wait then 30 then 30 more. Once seated it took 45 min to get our drinks and appetizers another 30 for dinner we had intent for dessert but after the extremely slow service we decided to just leave the food runner when the came to the table with all our entrees couldn't be bothered to go to any seat just stood at the end of the table passing hot dishes over children instead of walking them over and placing them down at the correct seats she was very rude and annoyed that we told her the first meal she called out was at the other end of the table our waitress was caught multiple times just wondering around not checking on good or getting drinks like she said she was The food every meal had a sweet flavor to it for no reason The breading on the country fried steak made it inedible I would not recommend coming here in a group read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. It was busy but our service was quick. Environment is clean & decor is cute. Food was delicious. Waited 15 minutes after we ordered & received our entrees. My family had gone to this restaurant about a week ago and we loved the food and the service was great. We tried going here again. We arrived at the restaurant around 4 pm behind a group of about 10 people who were seated immediately. The restaurant was very empty but we were told we had to wait as they didn't have any seats available. A couple came in after us and were seated right away while we still stood there for another five minutes. We were told it was a shift change so apparently they don't have anyone working. We ate there for lunch the first time today and I would recommend this place to anyone. We had an appetizer, one mixed drink and two entrees. Also my son had a kids meal. Bill was good priced. My wife had shrimp and chicken and I had southern fried chicken meal. Her food was very good and mine was outstanding. Best meal that I have had going out to eat in a very long time. Service was very good also very friendly and checked on us several times. I would recommend this place to anyone. The food was great. The service was not. We called ahead at 11 to inform them a party of 9 would be there at 1. We arrived and there was a wait for a table. It didn't bother me that there was a wait, but what bothered me was the hostess had no knowledge of a party of 9 arriving at 1. We were seated, our drink orders taken. We informed our waitress that we had a young man in our party celebrating his 18th birthday and her response was "That's nice". She delivered our appetizers but no plates to put them on. Our food came out in a decent enough time. The food was great and the service was lacking. Every request for a refill or a to go box was met with a shrug. After reading the reviews I was very hesitate on going here. On entering the building I was very pleasantly greeted, was worried about the greasy floors that were listed on other reviews, but they were nice and clean, no problems (was concerned if I brought my mother who uses a walker). I ordered the potpie, it was delicious couldn't finish it due to the nice salad served with it. My girlfriend ordered the salmon, she loved it. Went on a referral from a family member who has eaten at Cheddar's in Tucson. Disappointed in the service and food. Cons: We ordered from the lunch special, where you could order two items, one being the soup of the day. I ordered the cheeseburger and a bowl of the loaded potato soup. The waitress came back after about 10 minutes to tell us they were out of the soup, and that it takes two hours to make a new batch..this was at 12:30 in the afternoon. I mean, really? They ran out at the peak of lunch time? I ordered the other soup, instead. The waitress brought my burger first, and I had to ask about my soup. It came at the end of my meal. Since I was sitting in a booth and was seated near the wall, she could not reach that far and two guests with me had to hand my soup across to me, all while she kept telling us to be careful as it was very hot and the bowl was very full. The burger was a little greasy, and the edges hung way over all sides of the bun and were very crispy at the edges. A tad bit overdone. Pros: the waitress was friendly and apologized several times. The kids meals did not come to the table so hot they had to wait for them to cool, they were just at the right temperature so they could dig in. I've read good reviews, so I'm hoping they are working on the problems and adding more training for the staff. I will definitely go again in the hopes I just hit it on the wrong day. read more

When we walked in there we were seated immediately which was about to only good thing that happened. It took about 25 minutes for a waiter to come to our table then we ordered drinks. They took about 15 minutes to get the drinks and had us order our food. I ordered some vegetables as a side but got Mac and cheese. Now normally I wouldn't complain because I like Mac and cheese but the Mac and cheese was cold and I also got a burger and the burger meat was cold and chewy. I would not recommend going to Cheddar's and if I could I would rate it zero stars. read more

I have gone here a few more times now (3 more times to be exact). The food tastes great but always makes it to the table cold like its been sitting around before getting to us. We never come at busy times and don't wait terrible long to get our food but just noticed that its always consistently cold. Service is still good but the waiter did not know what he was doing and you could tell he was new so we did have patience with him. Floors are extremely slippery as well I almost fell being seated. I would not bring my grandparents here due to that fact. read more

Service is bad. I came in on a slow week day night after work, and sat at the bar. There was only one other person at the bar, so it surprised me when it took the bartender-who was leaning back, sipping her drink-almost 10 minutes to come over to me. She didn't say hello, just stood there, and I asked for a menu and a wine list. Again, waiting Another 5 minutes for her to come over, after me staring at her to try to get her attention to order, she stood. After finishing my first appetizers, she never came to ask how things were or took any of the plates away. I ordered my entree, still looking at the old plates sitting in front of-all the way through dinner-although looking at the bar, there were dirty plates everywhere-so at least I didn't take it personally. The food was ok-chicken breast over cooked, the gravy on the mashed potatoes is oddly sweet, and the side portions are tiny. I will probably choose elsewhere next time so that I don't have to work so hard to pay for my dinner out. I've gotten much better service At Culver's. read more

I don't know if I chose an off day or what when I went there yesterday. I have had better experiences previously. Service was spotty; drinks were never refilled. I had broccoli cheese casserole that was simply broccoli swimming in cheese and dripping over the side of the bowl. My sandwich with honey mustard sauce was again swimming. The lettuce hanging out from the bun was so coated in sauce that you couldn't pick it up, nor would the chicken stay in the sandwich. I was very disappointed and don't plan to return. read more

Our family was excited to try Grand Chute's new restaurant. Can't go wrong with cheddar or scratch, right? Our four opinions were pretty consistent; it wasn't bad, but the menu, flavors and service were all bland and unremarkable. There are plenty of places within 1/2-2 miles with better selection, better flavor, better service, and same or larger portion sizes for same or less money. The food here is good but the service is so abysmal that I can't see ever returning. After putting our name down for a table we went to the bar to have a drink. There we were informed that two of the beers on tap weren't available due to problems with the taps and when my friend ordered a Manhattan she was denied because they were out of bitters. Come on people, this is Wisconsin and old fashions are practically the state drink besides beer. We were seated at our table and ordered entrees. While we were waiting my other friend was denied a second spicy mango mojito because they ran out of mint and the table's fourth Blue Moon was sans orange wedge because evidently they ran out of those too. After over an hour wait, I flagged down our server since we noticed people seated after us had received their food. Only then did our server realize we didn't get our meal and said he'd go to check on it. Then the manager visited our table and told us that they didn't know why our order hadn't gone through to the kitchen and we only got chips and queso because I requested an appetizer since we were starving. It was obvious to me that our server hadn't entered our order but didn't own up to it and was more nonchalant than apologetic. Our server didn't attempt to be attentive with the rest of the service, but instead avoided us. Two of the entrees came without their ordered sides and we had to ask repeatedly for them. The chicken tortilla soup was served without any garnish at all, no tortilla strips or even cheese and not even a spoon. When my friend requested a spoon the only clean spoon they had was a long teaspoon like the kind used in drinks. A restaurant shouldn't ever run out of clean dishes especially at 8:30 on a Saturday night. When the bill came the only thing comped was the chips and queso and the manager was no where to be found. This restaurant has been open for months, but even if it were opening week there is no conceivable excuse for the horrific state of affairs at this place. read more

I keep going back because I like the food, hoping the service is better the next time. But it never is. Beautiful interior & reasonable price. We experienced a series of negative events & we won't be back. I suspect the issues will get worked out when the newness fades, so really it's our error that we are one & done type people. The hostess brought us to the wrong table and got on her mic & loudly made a few comments that I thought were a bit inappropriate. (She might've been trying to be funny, I wasn't sure). My husbands pork was raw & had to be sent back. Then we got charged 2 times for the uncooked pork & had to have our card run & then re-ran when we spotted the error. It felt new & there were a lot of people walking around, which we found helpful because we needed a lot help with the problems we were having!
