Ok so look I love this restaurant. I think there food is amazing but come on, I asked 7 TIMES for ranch 7 times come on. How hard is it to put ranch in a cup and bring it to a table. It was so slow. This had happened to me more that once it's just sad. Something needs to change. If you are looking for something fast avoid this place. Food was good but come on seriously, and on top of this the price was outrageous. Trust me it was an awful time I wouldn't come back if the food wasn't good. :( read more

I went for lunch with a party of 7. It was before noon so they weren't crowded yet. We were seated in a large section where nobody else was. When we were first seated, we commented about how cold it was. The waitress said it just takes awhile for the room we were in to get warm. We complained and complained, even asked if they had a space heater. After 45 minutes and no food, I asked the manager if we could move and why was our food taking so long. She was rude. We were finally moved and an hour after our arrival, our food appeared. The food was ok, but not worth waiting on for an hour. Not going back! read more

Had the displeasure of eating here one time, and it will definitely be the last. Ordered a simple burger cooked medium-rare and waited nearly 30 minutes for it to arrive. The burger came out well done, which explains part of the wait time. Management was polite enough and did offer a remake, but after that much time waiting for the first burger to arrive I decided it was not worth the time to wait further. The atmosphere was decent, and the waitress we had was very helpful, which is the only reason I'm giving it two stars. If you want a good burger though, you're better off just going to Fat Patty's down the road. read more

Over priced and mediocre service always. My husband use to go to this restaurant all the time but we stopped after continuous disappointment. Don't plan on going back because I can spend less money for a better meal at any restaurant in the Tristate area. I am blown away by the way this place has gone down hill. First when we arrived we had a party of seven but half of the party wasn't there so they we could order drinks and apps for everyone. I could understand this if they were full but they were at about 25%. If it was not bad enough the front of house staff rolling their eyes. The food was at best mediocre. The Mac and cheese was crusty and broccoli casserole was the same. The wait staff was not conversant with the bar selection. The main entrees were good though. read more

First of all, this place is VERY clean. So, the first thing you see is a clean floor, which is awesome! The service is usually pretty good as well. i am giving the Cheddars in Ashland KY an ok only because our waiter was so bad. After we were seated we waited for about 10 minutes for someone to wait on us. During this time we watched our waiter walk past us about 10 times looking for someone. Granted, he may have been looking for the waiter who should have been in our section but missing. He finally came to take our drink order which after 2 tries at getting it wrong we told him to forget it. We got salads but no Croissants, after another long wait someone else finally brought our food, which was great, but not hot. I have been here before with my grandchildren and it was amazing, with an excellent waiter. When we were leaving my husband thought I was confused about where I had taken our grandchildren and it was a different restaurant. He said he would never go back, but I may try another time without him, or just order takeout. I came back after my first experience because it was so great, but if this had been the first time I wouldn't have been back. read more

Cheddars is probably the best food with the best value for your money in Ashland,KY. The portions are large and very tasty. We usually have enough left overs for the next day's lunch.I think the bread should be included with the entree, not an extra charge! I realize not everyone wants bread, but it should be given as as option! Just Saying! You will find Cheddars a busy happening place----go early or you will have a wait! Most of the time the wait staff is helpful and pleasant, but be prepared for it if they aren't. The staff would benefit with PR training for their customers. read more

If I knew I was going to die tomorrow, Cheddar's Casual Café is where my last meal would be. They're food is great! They have tons of pasta, and sandwhiches (other than the plain old American cheeseburger). They're waiters and waitresses are generally friendly, and try to make your meal a very pleasurable experience. The décor is very friendly, and kids are sure to love it. The last time I was there, it took 15 minutes to get a waiter to even come to our table, and after our food was delivered (a considerable amount of time later) they never came back. I had ate here & I love the food & the service, then one day I was one of the first people to order lunch when they opened for the day.I ordered the ribs as I had them before & loved them. After waiting for over a hour & seeing many who was seated much later than me be served,I got my meal. The food was not fit for a dog. The ribs was cold & dryed out. it seemed like they had been leftover from the night before and served to me the next day. When I left I asked to speak with a manager & paid my check. I sat for about 10 min. when a man who clamed to be a manager,but looked to be a busboy, told me he was not able to comp. me for the meal, but said a gift card for the cost of meal would be sent to my home. over one year later, still no refund. Service was very attentive. Food was much better than expected. Onion rings were crunchy (not bready), hot, and fresh. I got a buffalo chicken wrap. The chicken was good, not too spicy. The food is great and the prices reasonable. If you are in a group of more than 6, don't expect to sit together. There are only 2 tables big enough for 8, so if you are in a group you will have to be separated. Cheddars seems to do a good job with small parties, but it cannot handle large groups. First, they don't have tables large enough for a group of 8-10 people and always try to convince people to sit at separate tables instead of pushing tables together. If we wanted to sit separately, we wouldn't have gone out to eat together! The kitchen cannot seem to time meal delivery for large groups. Half of our food was cold while some was hot. We sent the onion rings (appetizer) back because they were so cold. Instead of providing us with a new order of onion rings, our onion rings were re-fried. They were a nasty mess! Another reviewer mentioned that the kitchen cannot cook steaks correctly, and that is true. I ordered my steak "medium" and it was cooked completely through (no pink) and served cold. I sent it back and received a perfect steak. This makes me think that the kitchen staff isn't skilled enough to coordinate meals for groups. The waiter never apologized for our issues and a manager never visited us. If your party has no more than 3 or 4 people, then Cheddars is a good option. For larger parties, I suggest going elsewhere. read more

ATTENTION! Went here last night for my 21st birthday to sit at the bar with my husband and have a couple drinks. I was really looking forward to it since ive obviously been waiting a long time to be old enough to order a drink. So I go to order my drink and they ask for my ID and the manager steps over and tells me they CAN NOT serve me because even though im 21 my license was not horizontal yet. Ps he was a lot more rude then that just sounded. Apparently its a KY law that you have to have a horizontal license first even though it clearly says your 21. I have never heard of this before and I think its absolutely ridiculous. I chose to go to this restaurant for my birthday out of all of the other places I could have gone to that would have definitely served me since all my other friends have done it and got served without a problem. I think from now on ill be taking my business elsewhere, I know for a fact Applebees wouldnt do that to me.Thanks for ruining my birthday Cheddars and thanks to the manager for being an A** hole about it!
