Not impressed on the service. Started with no silverware, asked more than one person to get it. Finally did, long after my dining mates appetizer had come. Then waited a very, very long time for our food. Some waiting even left. When the food finally came, they brought the salad with my meal, not before as it should have been. I had all that time to wait I could have had my salad. Others ordered second drinks when the meals came and it took a long time to get them there. Would have been nice to have with the meal. Then had to ask 3 times to get a to go box to take the food I didn't get to eat because my fellow diners had long since finished their meals while I was having my salad. My family and I were very disappointed with the food last night. We had a party of 7, and half of the food came out 10 minutes before the other half. Then when we got everything it was cold. My father in laws steak looked like a burnt piece of rubber and his baked potato came way after his steak. It is sad because we usually love Cheddars! On the plus side our server was very nice and accommodating. After bringing me my rare steak when I asked for medium, him and the manager took it off our bill. Hi so the other day I went to cheddars and it was the worst experience ever! When I first got there they told me it was going to be a 10-20 minute wait and I said ok I'll wait because I was really hungry. 10 minutes past by and nothing, 20 minutes past by and nothing, it took them around 1 hour and a few minutes to get me seated!!! Very unprofessional. Then the waitress was very rude and was rushing me to order my food and I felt very uncomfortable. When my food finally got to my table it was cold! Very unexceptionable! I had ask the waitress if there was any way she could take my food back there and reheat it but she said no so I just told her to give me the check. Most of the food here is good. I went one time and the pineapple that was on my chicken had gone bad so it did not taste very good but they did replace it. They do well with large groups so it's easy to go with a lot of people. Not my favorite place but it has some good options. read more

Cheddar's was the worst dining experience I have had in my entire life. Our appetizer was delivered 30 minutes AFTER our entrees literally as the check was brought to us. One of the entrees my party ordered never showed up. In addition, I found three hairs on my plate. Then to our horror, my brother pulled ELEVEN hairs off of his plate! We've been to Cheddars several times & have never had to wait more than 3-5 minutes & this place is always packed ! So far we've had the philly cheese steak (really good), the monte cristo (out of this world fantastic), the chicken sandwich (great) & the fish tacos...one side note the fish tacos tasted incredibly good but they looked really unappetizing, not sure what the problem was but it just looked literally thrown together but it was really good. 2:30 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. Not very busy at all and yet getting no real attention to be seated. After watching multiple wait staff members walking by without so much as a nod of acknowledgment and standing at the hostess podium for about six minutes we are finally approached. Just a table for two. After being seated the waitress takes drink orders and delivers it. Only to leave again and doesn't return for a good ten minutes to take the meal order. The 3 is for the food, and it's just barely a 3, NOT for the poorly trained wait staff. I first was seated in a booth in which the seat was so compacted that the table was barely below chin level. The hostess was snippy when I asked to move. One of the items I ordered was what I thought was corn on the cob, when in fact it was "Buttered Corn Off the Cob." Now why, in a long list of side orders, would the cob be mentioned at all, when, in fact, it was canned niblet corn. Yes, I misread the menu. However, when the waitress FINALLY came around again (she is not the one who delivered the meal to the table), and I said that I was supposed to have had corn on the cob, she said, in a particularly concescending way, "We don't have that on the menu." So, when I said, I thought it was on the menu, she said, "No it isn't!" Not, you may have misread it, it says . . . , just No it isn't! Rather than responding with what was going through my mind, I just asked to see the menu. At the end, the same dumbbell, though not deserving of much of a tip, gave me only large bills in my change to be sure she didn't get much of a tip. This was a particularly off-putting experience when I just wanted some late lunch. -- And, by the way, if you want some broccoli in the broccoli casserole, try ordering broccoli and broccoli casserole as the two sides. I had a really good experience here. My server Mack was awesome. He even song happy birthday to my granddaughter twice! The food was good. The reason I gave them three stars is because the food is way too salty. It's ridiculous. Also when our server Mack was speaking to us about different things, other servers were interrupting him to ask him questions. Which is very rude. Arrived at 4:30 with a group of 4 adults and 4 kids. 30 min later we were sat at a booth, which was perfectly fine. Our waiter was kind, but less than attentive, possibly because she knew there would be so much time between the ordering of our food and its delivery. My side salad was served to me about 10 min after ordering, so things looked promising. It was not, however, removed from my table until 40 min later when I asked the waiter why it was taking 50 min for our food to be served to us. Approximately an hour after ordering our meal was served to us. Two of us had loaded baked potatoes, neither of our potatoes were cooked. They were rock hard in the center, something that should have been evident when they cut it to put in the butter etc. They also failed to serve the garlic bread and it was not until we asked about it that we were informed that the kitchen was backed logged and they were heating some up for us. Two of our dinners were very cold and had to be sent back and no one's dinner was actually hot, so I'm guessing it was sitting back there waiting to be delivered. Nothing was especially tasty, but nothing was bad. The best of the meals was the shrimp tacos. Mac-n-cheese tasted only a tad bit better than what you get out of a box, but unfortunately the macaroni was way over cooked and thus was just mush. Atmosphere here was better than previously remembered. This is a chain restaurant and most complex meals I have had here tend to believe salt is the answer. My son and I both had stomach issues after ordering medium-well burgers to keep it simple and they arrived around rare. read more

You get a lot of food for little money, however the service is sometimes slow. Also, apparently they don't give free refills and the waiter will keep bringing you refills without informing you of this. This place is woefully understaffed, under-trained, and poorly managed. I used to be a server and can put up with quite a bit. Cheddars is a nice enough building, great decor, and a great location. The prices are great and the food is pretty good considering how much you get for your money. However... Considering how long this location has been opened, there are plenty of kinks that need to be worked out. After putting our names down we were told there would be a 45 minute wait. Being a Saturday night, no problem. We went to the bar and ordered a few drinks and also noticed 4 wide open booths that were never filled. I inquired about these and I was told they were "for wait" tables. Well. Seat somebody! While waiting we couldn't help but overhear the hostess and wait staff having several intense conversations about duties and responsibilities. Awkward for customers waiting. Eventually we were seated, and noticed several more open tables on the way to our booth. The five of us were snuggly seated in a booth for four and told sorry about the tight fit as we longingly gazed at several larger open tables. Staff was helpful though not versed (trained) with the menu. Our appetizer came minus its condiments and when they arrived came with a used and dirty dish. Awesome. The food arrived and was hot and good. No issues there. If Chedders gets its staff better trained and would have a manager on the floor checking on and checking in with patrons, then this restaurant will be a solid go to. Oh, bathrooms were in desperate need of attention. And sadly a restaurants restrooms usually speak volumes of the overall cleanliness and attention to detail of a restaurant. read more

The service is the worst. Because I am a server also, I never show up to a restaurant within the last hour before closing. My boyfriend and I showed up 2 hours before close because we didn't want to receive crappy service that usually plagues all restaurants within the last hour. We were sat rather quickly since it's a Sunday evening and hardly anyone was inside the place. We were greeted right away but it took 15 minutes for us to receive our drinks. We were never given our silverware so we resigned to eating our appetizer with our hands, which isn't too bad considering we ordered the onion rings, but we had no napkins either. Our server was no where to be found, despite 5 or 6 other servers standing around talking at the bar or host stand. Two other tables were sat near to us and they also had to ask for silverware since they weren't given any either. I eventually had to get up and search for napkins and straws and ask a cook who was randomly at the host stand for silverware. Then, a lady who I assume was the manager came out and told us that the last batch of gravy for my boyfriend's order of country fried steak was just spilled all over the floor and they couldn't make any more. He was offered BBQ sauce or buffalo sauce. Gross. It also took our waitress 15 minutes to get refills on our drinks and to go boxes for our food. I could be more understanding and forgiving if the restaurant was busy. But the place was empty and servers were standing around. I've been to this place quite a bit, but the majority of the time is at night around the same time. Horrible service, server tried to mock my friend because of his foreign accent, That was rude. I asked for the manager to complain about the server. The manager looked at me like he was clueless and said he would handle it and sent me another server. This server was a bit better but she would get irritated after my kid asked for a refill and said " Already again" I am sorry but I am not going to let any stranger talk to my child like that. Initially we waited a while (~15 minutes) to even be spoken to by a server. However, another server not assigned to our table noticed this, and told a manager. The manager immediately got one of their best servers assigned, and personally came over and apologized. After that point, service was phenomenal, and the food was great, with good portion sizes. A year ago I would have rated this five stars but the last few times we have been there the food was not very good. Recently I got the fried chicken salad, which I have gotten countless times, and the chicken was cold. On the next visit the ribs where not as great as they where in the past and my wife's fries tasted stale ( not sure how they messed up fries). The Wisconsin Cheese bites were good but a bit greasy. The Potato Soup was delicious. It was made with the potato skins still on and was garnished with fresh cooked and chopped bacon which added to its homemade taste. The Chicken Alfredo was very creamy. The steak was well cooked however it was salty and very over seasoned and thus could not eat all of it. The Painkiller is one of my favorite drinks. It is served in a large goblet glass and has a generous portion of toasted coconut along the rim of the glass. The Chicken Pecan salad was served with a honey mustard dressing that had a very overpowering taste of horseradish which I did not like. The pecans served on the salad had a good sweetness to them. I must add that my potato soup was served to me with a small teaspoon instead of a soup spoon (my husband received a soup spoon with his soup) and when we asked the waiter for a soup spoon he replied that that was the only spoon he could find. I find this to be very odd considering it was only about 5pm and the restaurant was not crowded at all yet they had already run out of soup spoons! I sent two emails to the corporate office explaining the situation and told them I didn't want any free meals or coupons. They never responded. I had to wait in line to complain to the manager. This restaurant had good food, but the wait was suppose to be 20-30 minutes long and turned out to be an hour or so long. We were okay with that since some of us have worked in the restaurant business and know how it is. Once we were sat, we were greeted in a timely matter, but the waitress didn't seem engaged in our table. It seemed as if we were a bother, which as a server I would understand but I would never let my tables see that. Jessica H greeted our table kindly but afterwards she had somewhat of an attitude, didn't prebuss, we were ready to order and she went off to another table and she was not attentive at all. Our food arrived and she didn't ask how everything came out. My cousin asked for his steak to be medium and it came out rare/medium rare. He is not used to it at all so he currently has food poisoning due to this. The kitchen should really watch out for this and although I know this isn't common, it is still not okay. The service was awful, the kitchen didn't do well on the cooking, and it was really just not a good experience. We were celebrating a birthday as well and our food took nearly an hour to come out to where we didn't even want to mention a birthday.
