My wife and I had a gift card for Cheddars. So, we chose the Cheddars on 35W in Keller. Once there, we experienced one of the worst restaurant visits we'd ever had. She ordered the pot roast. When it came out the "beef" was white like pork, but we were assured it was beef. As I cut into my chicken fried steak, I found a strip of something blue between the breading and meat. I was told it was a piece of glove. The waiter actually asked if I wanted another one, as if I would just pull out whatever it was and keep eating. The manager was nice enough to apologize and refund my entree, but that will be the last time I darken any Cheddars doorway. Awful. read more

I've dined here before, and I have no complaints about the service and or the food. Casual dining with a decent menu. The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant appears clean. My only complaint and the reason I'm not giving it 4 or more stars is the restrooms. The restrooms are clean, but the stench around the restroom area is unbearable. I googled Cheddars on Heritage Trace to get the phone number so I could call ahead. After reading the reviews of big parties, I was concerned to have my sons birthday dinner there. But I called around 12pm and let them know the time, group number, and why we would be there and asked if they could have tables ready for us. The woman on the phone said she would let her manager know we would be there and be ready. When I got there a few minutes before 6:30 all we had to do was wait MAYBE 5 minutes for one table to clear and then they had everything ready for us. Once seated, we received our drinks and food in a timely manner. With a group of 13, we did not have our order messed up at all. Everyone at the table LOVED their food and someone in the kitchen offered my son cookies for his birthday when we were leaving. We went in last night as a big group. We stood at the hostess stand for over 25 min because the hostess said there was only one table that could accommodate a party of 8 and it was being used. We ended up pushing two high tops together in the bar and eating there. Few of us were brought the wrong drinks to start off. Our app came out thick and cold (spinach dip) and the waitress had the salsa on top of the app plates which had spilled all over the top on and into the 2nd one. We had looked on the website at the menu before coming. I had decided on the meatloaf which I didn't see on the menu. The waitress said they tasted it but it rolls tomorrow. The manger said they couldn't make it because they weren't allowed. Which I understand. I ordered dipped chicken tenders that came out plain without the sauce on the side. About 15 min after ordering the manger came out annoyed telling us they couldn't do nachos because they were out of chips. He seemed like we were putting him out. I guess they left our food in the window while they made what was replacing the nachos because everyone's food came out cold. Most of our drinks sat there without refills for quite a while. Then the bills came out wrong as well. My husband steak was over cooked and totally covered in steak seasoning to the point of being gross. I had higher hopes for our first time to visit. BUGS! BUGS! BUGS! Went here this past Saturday, 12th of November, to celebrate Veterans Day. We were seated directly across from the kitchen. The "catfish" didn't look or taste like catfish. Once we were done eating, I noticed a ROACH crawling around the bottom of my daughter's cup. I had already given the server my credit card. I asked for the manager, she came over and I told her what happened. First, she acted as if I was lying. Secondly, she said she would refund me the cost of my daughter's drink. The drink is included in the cost of the kid's meal! The server came back with a new receipt. The manager apparently only credited me the cost of my daughter's meal, which I certainly don't think was right. It's as if she assumed that the bug had only been crawling around on one area of the table. She never apologized and never followed-up with us. Once I got home, I realized the server did not cancel out the original charge and I was never credited anything! I would've given zero stars, if it were possible. Servicer was good, the issue was the manager on duty. He was arrogant and condescending when confronted. We were sat in the bar area as they said this was the only station open 1 hour before close. We sat down, 2 other tables were seated after us. We were talking and enjoying our meal when they proceeded to start dragging the chairs and tables around that were empty to clean them. They were also using a broom to sweep the dirt which I am sure was flying all around. We confronted the manager as to why they could not wait and his reason was it was time to close the restaurant and they wanted to go home like everyone else. No apologize for the noise or the dust. He said he would have done more, but he didnt appreciate being confronted. Will admit it was a heated exchange because he was not engaged in trying to solve the problem. We had to ask to have the noise stopped so we could enjoy the rest of our meal. He came back to the table and again started confronting us and we asked him to walk away and he stated he will NOT be swooshed away. We went one night and I ordered monte Cristo and the waitress told me they were out. Ok fine I went with second choice New Orleans pasta. The waitress came back and said they were out. My third choice was chicken tenders and mashed potatoes. I was then told they were out of mashed potatoes. The manager came by and all he said was sorry. While we were waiting we heard another waitress tell another table they were out of broccoli cheese casserole and macaroni and cheese. Seriously!!!! We ended up getting a gift card from them because we made an online complaint. We decided to go back on a Sunday at same restaurant. The very first thing the waitress said was we are out of ribs, potato skins and spasagna. Apparently the waitress said the delivery truck always has issues and never delivers enough food. Always a great meal and great service. Onion rings are always awesome. Love the seasoning on the steaks. Just had another great visit to Cheddar's so I figured I would go into more detail. Onion rings are the best. Their batter/breading is so tender. We always order them extra crispy. The honey butter croissant itself is worth the extra cost of the salad. (You can also sub a salad for the two sides.) Tonight I had the ribs and tenders with baked potato and red beans and rice. The red beans have chunks of sausage. Add a little Tabasco and yum! I didn't touch my chicken tenders, but they are always crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. I'm saving them and some onion rings to crisp up in the oven later. ;-) The ribs. What can I say about the tender, juicy, smoky fall-off-the bone goodness that are the ribs? I couldn't even cut the ribs apart because the meat just fell off. Service was excellent as always. This is always been our default choice to go when undecided on where to go. They got good prices and I was never disappointed. They have good prices for ribs compare to other place I been and the service for this location has always been good for me so far. This cheddar really sucks. The reason why! I checked the website before I went over there. The web site said they close at midnight. I got there and it was ten minutes till eleven. They told me they close at eleven and said that I looked looked at the wrong restaurant so I show them the website were it says it closed at midnight. I have had good experiences at this location before but today my fiancé found a long hair baked in his monte cristo sandwich. The waitress seemed like taking food with hair in it away was all too routine. He was super grossed out and didn't want to eat anything else. The manager NEVER came to speak to us about this or apologize and we were there for at least 30 more minutes. The sandwich was taken off our check but I'm very disappointed that management does not care enough about their customers to try to make it right. read more

I've been here many times. I think the food is great, but the service sucks! My family and a few friend end up going there, not only did they get someones order wrong, are food was very cold when it got there. We would have said something, but it took them almost an hour to even give us the food. Sad thing is it was not even busy! I end up getting the baked spaghetti, it was not horrible cold. I'm sure it will taste great hot or at least warmish. We always end up getting dessert , but didn't want to wait for ever again. My family and I ate here tonight. First off we got there at 9 pm and didn't leave till 11. That says it all right there. I think the server we had was new so I gave him the benefit of the doubt....because I have been there myself. We did not receive good service- the staff knew we needed drinks and could obviously tell we were upset and they didn't care one bit!!!!!! Are drinks were empty 90% of the time we were there. It took an hour for our food!!! My husband and I had cold food. And...My dad received dry ribs. And when my dad stated that his ribs were dry the manager just took his meal off and didn't come say one word to us. BAD MANAGEMENT. Come on people. I took my wife for her birthday and we were planning our next date night by the end of the meal. We went on a Friday evening and therefore had to wait to be seated, but half an hour is not bad at all considering I've had to wait longer for pancakes in the past. If you're into melted cheese, I recommend you try their queso dip as an appetizer. We both enjoyed our entrees - Smokehouse burger for her and chicken tenders for me - and have nothing but praise for whomever prepared them. The burger was juicy and almost crumbled in your mouth. The breading on the tenders was crispy, not crunchy, and the chicken moist. Despite the amount of patrons, none of the tables near us were dirty and the bathroom was well maintained. Two people eating for just over thirty bucks including drinks and tip is money more than well spent here. Can't recommend them enough. read more

I went online to find a restaurant that was open past 11 on a Friday night. According to online info it states open till 12. Once there and seated the server informed me they were closed. I told him what it said online and he stated the front door says 11. I left upset. Why seat me then tell me they are closed. I would not have gotten good service at that point if they were closing. Cheddars is a place we have always loved to go! In this case the manager does a very poor job at running this location! I have gone with my husband over and over because this is so close to our home! My husband and I had a couple bad experiences with their servers now after deciding to give it another chance my niece and I came back together with our children terrible service took an hour for refills the people next to us got free appetizers because they had to wait so long as well and were shaking their heads and talking to us about how bad the service was! We tried it again tonight the computer systems went down when we were trying to leave and check out! So more waiting on them and EVERYTIME we asked for something simple like a refill or ranch we waited for at least 10-15 minutes and she kept saying she forgot well that's because she was chatting it up with her co workers EVERYTIME we looked over wondering where she was. We again had terrible service, the food is always good but service is awful!! They charged my niece for a adult size beverage for her one year old just because she didn't order a kids meal. And they had bad attitudes just terrible experience once again after giving it three more chances. The vent above us was blowing freezing cold air on us in the bar area and covered in dust I will try to attach a photo of the vent above the bar area! We took the picture out of disgust and knowing that this is blowing on people and their food and drinks! I've had good experiences at Cheddars in the past but this visit was definitely not one of them. The hostess sat us in a crowded area so I asked if we could have a booth instead. There were 2 booths available at the time and she told me no. I should have walked out right there. Since when do you tell your customers no when they ask to sit somewhere else? Then she sits us next to the "To Go" door which people were coming in and out of. Mind you, it's in the 30's. Our waitress Christy was the only good thing about this experience. I asked her if we could move and she placed us in a booth (the same booth I asked to sit in when I arrived). I ordered a sirloin medium and it came back well done. I use to go to cheddars all the time when I was in high school. Last night I decided to take my girlfriend out to Cheddars to enjoy a meal. We were greeted and sat down in a booth with a waiter and also a trainee named Hunter. I ordered the BBQ chicken platter with fries and mac and cheese and my girlfriend got the Keywest chicken and Shrimp with fries and broccoli and cheese casserole. We received our food and on my girlfriends plate there was no rice for her Chicken and Shrimp. I asked the waiter and she said "Ohhh I think we're out of rice.". Didn't tell us before hand, just brought our dish out and didn't say anything until I brought it up. I was amazed she didn't offer anything as a replacement either. When she came back around I asked her if my girlfriend could get something else as a replacement to the rice. The waiter said "No because the rice is a garnish so we can't substitute it for anything." Makes no sense since the rice was a big part of the plate. I've never been more disappointed at a restaurant before and will not be back. read more

I've been to several Cheddar's locations in DFW and generally enjoy the food: buttery honey croissants, sweet peach iced tea, Philly cheesesteaks - yum! However, the level of service at this specific location is simply appalling. I went with a small group of friends, and from the moment we walked in, the environment was less than welcoming. It took a full hour to receive my appetizer side salad, and my friends were served their food significantly later, dishes that were clearly forgotten and reheated. Not once were we asked for a drink refill, and multiple requests for simple things (straws, sauces that were supposed to come with dishes but were also forgotten) were completely ignored. Needless to say, we were ready to get the bill and leave. Most of us were charged incorrectly on the itemized bill. Instead of fixing the error (an overcharge on a specific item), the waitress disappeared with my credit card for about 20 minutes after I asked for an updated check. She came back with a new check, no longer itemized, but $6 higher than the original amount. What? I tried to find a manager, but there was so much chaos in the restaurant - waiters were dropping dishes left and right (and one poor guy even slipped and fell over a freshly mopped floor.) So after not getting anywhere, I simply paid the incorrect amount and left. I will not be returning to this location, and suggest you make the effort to drive to Bedford if you enjoy Cheddar's food, because they clearly do not have it together here, nor do they know how to treat guests. read more

Hostesses were rude not only to me but to my two daughters that came in separately.... they came at two different times and were rude to both of them. I visited the Alliance Cheddars location on 4/1/17. Upon entering the restaurant I asked the hostess (who did not greet us or make eye contact) for a table with room to accommodate 4 adults and 2 high chairs. The hostess took us to a booth for four people. I nicely told her that we would not be able to fit two high chairs at the end of the booth because both children needed table top space to eat. She argued with me, and tried to show me that it would work. I asked her to move us. She disappeared to look for a different table. In the meantime a server came up. I explained the situation and she took us to a four person square table. She put the high chairs on the corners. I explained to her that both children needed table space to eat their lunch as well, and that positioning two toddlers on a corner would not work. I asked her for a table for 6 people as that was how many people would be eating. She acted like that was an absurd request and went to find the rude hostess. We were eventually moved to a round table where everyone could actually eat. The only reason I am giving two stars is because our waitress was kind and competent. Cheddars is supposed to be a family restaurant. I do not understand why accommodating children in high chairs was such a big deal. We were treated as though we were an inconvenience. You might also consider some training with your hostesses. A friendly greeting upon entering a restaurant, knowing how to seat people and dealing with customers who need help should be common practice. Clearly, this restaurant is lacking customer service, and that starts with the management. We were never once greeted by a manager, or approached by one throughout this whole ordeal. The delicious croissants won't bring us back. For reference, the hostess was a pretty, young girl with long brown hair. read more

My wife and I usually love going to Cheddar's at least once or twice a month but yesterday (Labor Day) we did not have that great of an experience. Early Afternoon we sat at the bar and next to us was a clearly highly intoxicated man with two empty double shot glasses and a full glass of beer in front of him. He kept sluring his words and bothering my wife trying to start nonesense conversations with her. The two bartenders were just trying to pacify him when they should have contacted a manager to notify them of this guest's visual lack of sobriety, cut him off, and made sure he had a safe ride home. I know this, as I have worked in the bar/resturant industry for several years. (And on a side note, the restaurant in general was not very busy at all --- so the staff MUST have been aware of his condition.) Instead, they were letting him be loud and drunk while the surrounding patrons sat uncomfortably eating their food. Our meals tasted decent and came out in a timely manner, but I am very disappointed in this experience and this Cheddar's location needs to refresh their staff on proper guest services, especially when servicing alcohol is involved. read more

Our waiter Was in such hurry to take our order we had just been seated when he rushed up to the table and wanted to take our order before we had even opened the menu. When he took our order he could not get it repeated back correctly, We ordered a salad, they showed up within 5 minutes of his taking the order which was good, but then within 5 or maybe 8 Minutes the main course showed up, with that said part of the order was missing, I had ordered coles slaw and it did not come out and it took me 5 minutes for him to come back by, He said that the kitchen was out and they were making a new bunch, so 10 minutes later the slaw shows up. meanwhile we had ordered coffee with creamer, the coffee showed up no creamer, no one offered a refill on coffee so we had just one cup. we had just started eating when he brought the check by saying no hurry, with that said as soon as i put my fork down, He came by and asked if I was ready to pay the check, I said no. he then proceeded to pick up my dishes and mean while my wife was still eating her meal, as soon as she was done I paid the bill. We felt so unwelcome and so rushed we could not enjoy our meal, My wife made the comment that is looked like our waiter was on something he was is such a hurry to get us in and out. When we eat out we like to enjoy the meal and have some time to enjoy the setting. read more

Cheddars has always been our go to place for a good family meal at a reasonable price. We stopped in for dinner this past Saturday and we were sorely disappointed. The bathrooms were dirty, stinky and in disrepair. My teenage boys ordered chicken fingers and didn't finish them because they had no flavor. I ordered a 6oz steak medium and it came out rare and tough. I sent it back and all they did was burn the outside and left the inside rare. I tried to eat it but literally could not chew it. After being a restaurant owner, I have come to notice the inconsistency in services at this establishment. My husband and I waited to be seated like the rest of the customers at the not so busy dinner rush in the front area. I watched the hostess straightening out chairs in the dining room and not even once did she look up to see if there were any customers in the waiting area. I did not see any staff sitting any customers but had walked on by. Once we were seated, no server for a while where the other customers behind us was also seated at the same time, server was ready to serve. Our server finally showed up at our table. We ordered our drinks, appetizer and dinners. Our drinks and appetizer came out with dirty chaffing dishes. I had to flag down our server to get clean chaffing dishes. Our server only said, "That's nasty." Within 2 minutes of getting our drinks and appetizer, our dinners was served. My husband asked the server who brought out our dinners to bring it back to the kitchen. Again, our server was no where to be found. My husband waited to get his ice tea to be refilled. No server once again. Finally our server came out with our food. My husband ordered the chicken fried chicken and I ordered the chicken pot pie. I would expect our server to know, chicken pot pie is served with a spoon and not eaten with a fork. Pot pie was runny. Food was not up to par, service was far from being on point. read more
