Great menu--great food--great prices! What more could you ask...oh yeah, great service...they've got that too!

The food here is great if you dine in but don't order carryout! My family visits several times a month because the food is tasty and affordable but recently I've been getting carryout because my little one is ill. Don't waste your time or money because they don't put the same effort in providing good food for carryout. read more

My 1st visit to a Cheddar's and my impression was to not return - maybe one day I'll try another location but it will be a while. Went there with a friend and we were seated by the kitchen so there were a lot of servers going in and out, which wasn't a problem - we were happy to be seated quickly because we were trying to have a quick lunch and the restaurant seemed to be pretty full. Unfortunately it took about 10 minutes for anyone to ask what we wanted to drink - then when our drinks arrived one was spilled - not a big big deal but there no apologies as well. When we did order our food - and a steak was ordered medium well - it was pretty bloody when it came out - so after trying to get the attention of our waiter for another 5 minutes (and while waiting for the A1 that was asked for when our food came out) we asked if the steak could be cooked longer and he took the whole plate back into the kitchen. When the food returned almost 10 minutes later, it was on the same plate with the blood on it and didn't look appetizing at all - especially since the grilled onions were soaked by the blood. At that point we had given up and just decided to pay the bill and leave. Interesting service is a nice way of putting it and less than impressive food and drinks. read more

Had hair in my side dish and waiter didn't apologize or could have cared less. The food looks like slop...they obviously never heard of "plating". I live right across the street from this one and it's disgusting. The food was so bad...I only took two bites. read more

We have passed by this restaurant several times but never ate here, so we stopped in for dinner. We were seated straight away, our waiter brought out Our drinks quickly. I ordered a club sandwich with a side salad, my husband ordered the maple bacon chicken sandwich with fries. The club had a great deal of ham and turkey but it was missing bacon, I also did not venture out with the honey mustard mayo - I ordered plain mayo. For a ham turkey on toast it was just ok. The salad looked really good but it ended up being more shredded carrots than lettuce and I'm not sure the croutons- which are my favorite-thing about salad are made from scratch? My husband said the bread on the chicken sandwich was not the best, but his did have bacon. The salad came with a croissant which was covered in honey butter, it was really good. And no I did not send the sandwich back over the bacon, I try not to send my food back unless I absolutely half too... the service was really good. read more

Horrible service, bad food ! Ordered strawberry lemonade and got water with pieces of strawberries literally, we told our waitress and she said the machine was messed up so why would they bring it out like that?? They did bring another batch of strawberry lemonades but no difference either. I ordered a piña colada and they didn't put the pineapple and the cherry on it and they forgot the straw, I asked for one and they never brought it. Now the food, my husband and I got the ribs and steak, we asked for the steak to be medium but nope it was fully cooked and the ribs were dry it was like bitting on cardboard with BBQ sauce, the sides were cold to top it off. We talked to the manager and she was very rude,well I can go on with this location...,this place sucks don't come here, save your money and time. read more

Okay this is a special review. I've been to Cheddars any number of times before and never written a review for them. So why five stars for a national chain restaurant? Discovered cheddars when I used to live over in Irving and on a lark one day, I ordered the half rack of ribs thinking was this would be a one time and never again type of order. Whoever heard of ordering baby back ribs from a national chain restaurant that does not specialize in barbecue? Out of my mind right? So picture this, drool coming out of my mouth after eating the baby back ribs. Succulent. Tender. Moist. Cooked to perfection. Okay so please don't try to picture the drool after all. That's not very appetizing by any means. I have been back many times to the Irving location and the location up in alliance town center. Every single time the ribs have been totally outstanding. Now what I do is get the loaded baked potato as a side and another side. Top that off with an order of sweet tea. Trust me this is an epicurean delight that you can't easily forget. So the five-star rating is for the baby back ribs. Not all of the meals are five-star. Get over it! This is my review. I noticed another reviewer counted the numbers of tables that were still covered when he went there. Well all of the tables were covered when I went there because the place was totally crowded on a Sunday afternoon and there wasn't a single empty table. I actually totally dare you to order the baby back ribs and not enjoy them! . By the way they give you a little moist towelett to wash your hands and it's fairly adequate but there's nothing like going into the bathroom and giving a good scrub for all the wonderful sticky mouthwatering sauce still left on your hands after the meal. P.S. It helps to grab a toothpick on the way out the door if you don't want to enjoy more ribs the rest of the day. read more

My friend and I went to eat dinner with six of our other friends. We arrived forty minutes late and our friends had already ordered. We got our food twenty minutes before they did! When they inquired with the waitress, she went to the kitchen and came back with the excuse that it's gonna take time because too much food was ordered. A party of 20 kids who came after had already finished their food by this time. A minute later they got the food and all complained that it seemed reheated. Too hungry to complain we all had our food. No one got any refills. Everyone was told you can't substitute any sides. When we all got our checks, the orders were all wrong and people who didn't get drinks got charged with drinks and Random food. The checks were taken back and reprinted. My friend who ordered two side salads only, got charged twenty dollars on her credit card, by this time she was sooo angry she just got up and left even though we told her to speak to the manager. Two servers dropped plates and one server slipped and fell with a bunch of food!! Felt so bad for him. Anyways the whole thing was a mess!! This is a Wednesday night btw, not even a full restaurant. My hubby and I decided to give Cheddars a try since we just moved to Texas. We were promptly seated in the bar. It took a little while to meet our sever, but not a big deal. I ordered the burger with cheese and a cup of tortilla soup. The soup was barely warm had no chicken. I don't think the server stirred the soup before putting it in my bowl. The flavor was good though and there was a sprinkling of tortilla chips and tomato on top. My burger arrived with no cheese and was a little over done at medium well. I guess I should've specified a temp, but the server never asked. My hubby ordered the Triple sampler which came with chicken tenders, potato skins, and quesadilla. He said everything was good. I tried the chicken tenders, they were awesome! I watched our young and maybe inexperienced waiter go to a table to verify their order, which he had wrong. He told them he was going to go let the kitchen know, but the order still came out wrong. And I didn't like that when he came to check on us, he wasn't really listening and would say "yeah, yeah, yeah-" while walking away. It didn't seem that busy. I think our experience had a lot to do with our server so we will give it another shot. read more

My friends, and family, come to this Cheddar's location all the time, but sadly after last night, we will not be coming back. We were a party of eight, and were told we would have a 45 minute wait, it was 5:30, on a Saturday night, so we were expecting that. Once they called our party, they tried to seat us in two booths next to each other, but our party would've been separated, weird. Then they tried to seat us at two tables about a foot away from each other, but the tables couldn't move, we decided to wait another 20 minutes for an actual table to seat all of us. Service was okay, due to the fact that it was dinner time. Once we ordered, 30 minutes later, everyone but myself got food. I ordered blackened salmon, so did my mom, and my Grandma. Once the waiter realized I didn't have my food, he went back to check on where it was and said it would be out in 4-6 minutes, I finally got my food 15 minutes later. The most disappointing part was when I cut into my Salmon is was completely raw, and stone cold. We sent it back, and I had to wait another 20 minutes for a cooked salmon. We decided to give this restaurant another try and we should have learned the first time. I looked at the website and saw they took reservations so I called to get a reservation for 10 but when I told the person on the phone she said they didn't take reservations but when I told her about the website she said to let her get a manager. I waited 15 minutes on hold then hung up to call again when she answered she laughed and said she forgot I was on hold and so she put me on hold again to which a manager finally answered. We I asked him about a reservation he asked if we all wanted to sit together and I said yes so he said come a little early and we might have to wait longer to which I said that was fine. My husband and I arrived early to get us in line. I approached the lady at the front and told her we were the party of ten to which she replied "oh we aren't going to be able to seat you all together after all" to which I replied the manager said you could we don't mind waiting and she said ok. Her and another person thought it would be OK to talk about us with us sitting right there! We should have left then but had the rest of our party already on the way. We were seated and our waitress started taking drink orders and then asked about appetizers I went to tell her what we wanted and she looked at me with this glare and said unless this is all on one ticket you need to wait. ARE YOU KIDDING ME IT WAS ALL ON ONE TICKET AND IF SHE HAD BEEN PAYING ATTENTION IN THE FIRST PLACE SHE WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT! After the drinks and appetizers came she came back to get the food order and one of our guest asked if they could wait to make his steak till after he ate his salad and she said no problem. This was the last time we saw her till the food came out and by this time we had already needed drinks and more chips to finish our apps. When we finally saw her she was on her phone and completely ignoring us. Our food came out and 2 people's food was missing and she brought the steak with the salad that he had asked her to wait on and when he reminded her about the conversation she ARGUED with him and grabbed the plate away from him and said well now you will have to wait on your steak and she grabbed our apps without asking if we were done and took them. We finally tell her we are ready for the steak and she brings the first steak out cold and dried up and says they can't waste the one they had made because we couldn't communicate. IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE CHEDDARS? Our server was Amber and if you get her leave and I recommend taking her off the floor NOW! UNBELIEVABLE!!! read more

Tons of seats available and on a Thursday night and waited over 40 mins to seat just for 2 seats

Went to eat here for lunch today. We were seated and greeted by out waitress. We placed our order pretty quickly after being seated. 45 minutes later, when the waitress cane by to check on us, we asked where our meal was. Everyone around us who was seated well after we were, had received their food, eaten and were leaving. She said, "oh the kitchen is running behind". I asked how that was possible if all the other people around us had received their food. She said I apologize your food will be right out. After 15-20 minutes longer and not seeing our waitress, we stopped the first employee we saw and asked for a manager. It took 10 minutes before he showed up. We still did not have our food. He walks up and says the reason our food took so long was because we had one person who ordered salmon. Salmon takes longer to cook. My husband had a chicken fried steak. His food was cold. There were only three people in our party. We will never go here again or any other Cheddar's. Second bad experience we have had with this food chain. read more

I've gone to this Cheddar's location since it has opened and always had a great experience, except for today. Our server was named Jean and it took him 15 minutes to take our drink orders, which by the time we had already figured what to order for our meals. He came back a while later with our drinks but did not return back other than to deliver our food (which was incorrect, by the way). In the meantime, we had to ask other servers for refills and had to call for Jean across the section for our checks.. It's unfortunate to have to call your server EACH TIME they are needed... Especially when we spotted him several times constantly chatting it up with another service at the POS station. Because the three of us are currently servers at other restaurants, my table was VERY unsatisfied with our service from Jean and probably will not be coming back to this location because of his in attentiveness. read more

My husband and I have been to many Cheddars. We really enjoy them for the most part. I have one negative thing to say about this one on Heritage Trace. I hope the management sees this and responds - turn down the music!!! I love music as much as the next person, but Cheddars is not a nightclub! You cannot hear the person right next to you speak! I would enjoy eating here much more if I could enjoy having a conversation with my friends. read more

I went there with my family while in town. It started off as a pleasant experience. We waited practically no time before we were seated. However the lighting sucked where they put us. a light was out and it made our table very dark compared to the tables around us. Server was nice, making jokes and what not. So we waited around for awhile before we ordered. After placing the order it took nearly 40 minutes to get the food to the table. We did have a manager come out, we didn't complain at all, and tell us there was a mix up in the kitchen. It was cool. We get our meals and I ordered the chicken Alfredo. It was awful, the sauce had no flavor and the chicken was burned. After we all finished and waiting on a check my mother was picking at the remnants on her dish and found the ugliest dead bug I have ever seen. I am all about keeping things low key but the server came back and took my mom's complaint and pretty much pulled the manager over to another table, full of guests and told him there was a huge dead bug on her plate. So then the other table was talking about it and one thing led to another and all the tables around us were talking about it and it made everything awkward. Love going here with my husband. Drinks are awesome with an awesome price. Food is always good and portions are Texas size. Saturdays it gets a little crowded but what restaurants are empty Saturday night. Definitely recommend for a date night or a casual outing with friends. read more

I was at this Cheddars today for a late lunch. Got there, picked a table at the bar and it was 10 minutes before someone came over to ask if we had been waited on. The waitress took our drink order and another waiter brought us menus. We finally ordered our food. While we were sitting there waiting another couple entered the bar area and got seated; however they were there looking at menus for 15 minutes - all this while at least 5 waitstaff and what looked like 2 mangers were all gathered talking in the bar area. The folks finally got up and left and I brought it to the attention of another waiter. Our waitress came back and I decided to tell her about it. It turns out that this particular Cheddars is a training facility. If they are training waitstaff at this place it is not working because this has been the poorest service I have experienced. I am not sure if Cheddars is trying tto save a buck but my Wife and I picked up to take home the two worst meals I have had in a long time. My Club sandwich was bland and the meat just did not taste up to par. The Chicken Fried steak my wife ordered was a nightmare! The meat was some sort of Mystery Mush, not really meat, unbelievably disgusting! We will not pass through Cheddar's doors again any time soon. YUK! read more

Our server sandrine was horrible, several of our food items were out wrong and when tried to calmly talk to her about it to get it fixed she wanted to argue about everything and make it seem like a problem that she had to fix something. Being a bartender and in the service industry I was not mad at all, I understand that things get miscommunicated in the kitchen and mistakes happen. She has tried to rush us through out dinner, tried to take our kids food from them when they clearly were still eating as they were chewing food at the time. The food was alright, my Texas toast was black so I couldn't even eat it. All in all the service was horrible and hopefully corporate and management keeps up with these reviews so they can fix these problems. I have never felt so unwelcomed by any other server in my life. Being service industry I usually tip well, but that didn't apply in this situation. read more

Our family frequents Cheddars very often between Lake Worth location and this location on Sage Trail off Herritage Trace. I'm appalled with our family's experience for dinner. The entire party had all their drinks on the table except our diabetic son. We asked a few times and finally received it after appetizers were on the table. The waitress that served us asked if it was our baby's birthday we said yes. She offered him a cookie on the house for the occasion. We thanked her and accepted the offer. She comes back and let's us know that our policy is we can not give it to him until at the end of the meal. We let her know that he was not eating a full meal and could have the cookie. She told her manager who was against giving him the cookie that we said we wanted it. The manager argued about that decision but ended up bringing it to us. Then my wife was asked if she mind having her salad with dinner as dinner was already coming out of the kitchen. Irritated with the visit so far my wife had a conversation with the manager letting her know how disappointed we were. That we visit multiple times, how much we spend with a large family like ours, she apologized and said she would take our waitress off our table and provide us with a different server. This didn't fix the issue. The manager kept talking down about the waitress and told her my wife yelled at manager about experience when this wasn't the case. Overall terrible experience. Uncomfortable visit. Will not come back and hope the waitress gets a different job as I would not want to work for that place. I would also suggest that the manager check to make sure the customer isn't standing around before she bad mouths the customer. Think before you spend your money here.. read more

We have been eating at Cheddars for 34 years and the last two times we visited this location, it turned out to be a less than good experience. We ordered, they brought out my husband's salad as requested but brought his potpie shortly after. The rest of my family and I sat there waiting and waiting for our food, about 40 minutes or so. My husband was done eating his whole lunch before the rest of us even received our food. He said his potpie was fine but it is usually very hot. I have always loved your hamburgers but today it just wasn't up to par. Seemed smaller and they didn't put the mayonnaise I requested. Didn't want to ask for any because I figured it wouldn't come until I was done with my burger. A couple weeks ago we ate at this same location, nearly froze at our table, the manager just walked around trying to look important, didn't seem to be interacting with his guests. This time I ordered a salad with chicken and pecans, which I really like a lot. But.......every bite was lacking and I decided I needed more ranch dressing. It was to no avail, I'm guessing there was water in my plate of salad because the dressing just ran right off!! It was terrible. To top things off, our friend asked for a tea refil, butter, A1 sauce and my ranch dressing. What we ended up with was the ranch dressing and the tea refil. Butter and A1 never came!! Yall need to get your act together as we have never walked away from a Cheddars restaurant so disappointed! Think we might find some place else to be our favorite. read more

I ate at Cheddar's in Ft. Worth, TX last Sunday. We met another couple and their two children. By 6:00 that evening , I was very ill. I have NEVER been so sick. I have eaten at the place of business since they opened and many other Cheddar's. The pain in my stomach was horrible and had not control of myself, I was so sick. The next morning, I received a call from the other couple that met us for dinner and they were very ill as well. My husband never became ill, so we narrowed the contaminated food as HOUSE SALAD. This was the only common food that we all three ate. After a hospital visit and drugs, I think I may live. I have called Cheddar's and spoke with the manager. He ask if I was the person that had sent him an email about being sick? Well, that was a sign that there was a problem. All he could say was let me give you a free meal. OMG, did not even want to hear the word FOOD. I contacted the health department, with no response back. I also sent an email to the corporate office of Cheddar's, with NO response. read more
