This place is always packed. Came on a Wednesday evening. Was greeted by a host that told another host we needed a high chair and she got loud and said "WHO?!" Looked up to see I was holding my child and that I was the one that needed the high chair. She Sat us in the back to what looked like to be the kids section which we didn't mind. Our sever approached our table he was nice but very forgetful. I ordered the shrimp and tender meal with rice and corn my cousin ordered the tilapia with shrimp and mango salsa. The server brought her meal before the salad and brought the salad after she was almost done. Croissant bread was great nice and hot. Food was good prices are very affordable just service and welcoming set me back. I stated that's long time for a week day, she then replied "we're short staffed but since you're such in a rush to eat how about you apply to work here" then walked off. This is from a visit on the afternoon of 11/18. I have dined here many times. The restaurant is usually very clean and and the food has always been good. When I have had a problem, such as during this visit, it is always with the service or wait time after ordering food. Problems visits have occurred in the bar area, as it did on this day. On this day we actually got so tired of waiting on our food, we paid for our drinks and went elsewhere. During our 60-75 minute wait after ordering our food, we had three different servers come up to us to say that they were taking over for the previous servers. The drinks had to be sent back twice (we were told that both were premixed). Every restaurant has an off day, and this was Cheddar's. I had high hopes for Cheddar's. I've heard people talk about it so much and look at me strangely when I'd say I've never been so I was expecting a spectacular experience. Welp, the service wasn't great. Our waitress wasn't very friendly and after she initially brought our food and water, we didn't see her again for a while. I finally flagged her down and asked her for a glass of water but she was taking so long to come back with it that my friend just gave me hers. She also took forever to come back and close out our checks after she brought them to us but let's get to the food. I ordered the grilled white fish and my friend ordered the grilled lemon pepper chicken breast. I'm a fan of speedy service (as you can tell from the above) but our food came out in less than 5 minutes. We went to this location simply for the Monte Cristo. We were willing to make the drive of over an hour and made sure to contact the restaurant while we were already 15 min into our drive. We asked the employee on the phone if they had the monte cristo available because it showed on the website that it was not available, the employee assured us that it was available. When we arrived, we noticed employees were leaving and were informed that the hot water was not working and they were closing, I informed them that we just called about the monte cristo and they said unfortunately they were closing. While we sat in the parking lot restaurant I noticed what I'm guessing was management because he was in a blue shirt standing at the front door motioned one of his employees to come out to our vehicle after about 15 minutes, the employee said they were back open but advised they still did not have the Monte cristo. This has to be the worst experience to date, that the only explanation they gave us, was the person who took the call must not be aware of what they have in stock. We will never and I promise never visit this location again. On the other hand, it would have been more professional to have management speak with us not send one of his employees. read more

One of my favorite restaurants when I lived in Florida. All items are cooked to order. Ambience is nice there is a fish tank and a bar also. Unfortunately service here is horrible. On the past three visits they have only one or two servers and the wait has been over an hour. On a Sunday afternoon I went there around 2 with Danny at the bar. She had a mean hateful look on her face. I said she doesn't look too happy and she complained there were only 4 people working there and getting upset with each other! A customer asked her for more sauce please politely and she slammed something on counter and stormed off like a two year old. So so rude. For my guest and my order we ordered an appetizer which we never received nor did we ever get the croissants in spite of asking for them three times. Then she rushed us out as I guess it was the end of her shift. I know there may be challenges with hiring and the pandemic but rude service will not cut it unless others ask me to go or I hear otherwise I won't be back there. Oh and one more poor service thing! If you call and ask about how long is the wait list you get told they can't tell you over the phone. Not sure why that would be a secret? That may have also been due to the AC blasting cause baby, it was cold I ate parts of my food as I worked from my laptop and the bar tender never checked in on me. This was for about an hour. I finally got her to bring me a Togo box, a Togo drink and requested the Bill. It took another 20min for the Togo box, still no bill. I asked for the bill again and she brought it over but no drink. I love Cheddars but this location let me down big time. I ordered my meal at 6:45pm. I received a text to arrive at 7:10 pm to pick up my order via curbside. When we got there, I checked in. 10 minutes later a young lady came and took my name and said she would bring my order. 45 minutes later.... yes you read that correctly. 45 minutes later she still hadn't come back with my order. Went into the restaurant and was asked for my name again, and what did I order. Ten minutes later, she arrives with my order. Quickly looked at my order and counted the items. They seemed to be all there. Left because there were other people trying to see where their order was. Got to my location to eat. We were missing salad dressing for the salad, and the items for the loaded baked potato that I ordered. The food was not hot, the tenders were soggy, which leads me to believe that the food was just sitting in the back and the person bringing the food to the cars never went and got our order. This restaurant is a good catch all. The menu offers a little bit of something for everyone. The inside looks nice and could make for a romantic date. I have tried the chicken fingers, club sandwich and the maple bacon chicken sandwich. All were delicious with generous portions. The maple bacon chicken sandwich is the best grilled chicken sandwich I've had anywhere around here. If you go and they are crowded feel free to grab a seat, table or booth in the bar area. That area is first come first serve. There isn't a table over there big enough to fit more than 4 people but it serves it's purpose if you and a few friends are looking to get in quickly without having to wait to be seated. The wait time in McDonough, GA may be considered long, however the food is always amazing. We visited there on 4-1-2023 and encountered an issue with our seating after we have been seated. A lady name India came over to the table, who we realised later was actually the manager. India had exceptional and excellent customer service and customer resolution skills. I went to Cheddars for lunch on July 25th, I ordered red beans and rice with chicken and sausage (Lunch special) I thought it came with a salad (may be not) it was absolutely terrible, I think I took one spoonful, not hot and barely warm, my husband had a sandwich with fries (of course not hot). We just took it home with us and didn't entertain a complaint. Then I returned with family on my birthday, August 13th, we ordered the cheese ball appetizers which were hot and swimming in grease and for my entry I ordered green beans, chicken fried steak and baked potato. I returned the over cooked and oily green beans, the steak was greasy and the baked potato didn't melt the cheese or the butter. I did complain to the waitress but she said "Oh I'm sorry." (she was in training). My son ordered a 14oz Ribeye steak, which was loaded with (almost half) fat. My grandson ordered the pasta which was dry with limited sauce. Cheddar's is a popular restaurant among some of my family members so I went to check it out with them. Nine of us arrived around 10PM the day after Thanksgiving and the place was understandably not as crowded as it seems to be on most nights according to the regulars. They were able to put a couple of tables together for us but after a few minutes, the chill of the wind coming through the front door was too much for the group. They happily let us move and the manager checked on us multiple times to see if we had warmed up. Cheddar's is kinda like any chain restaurant (i.e., Applebee's, TGI Friday's, etc.) with a menu that ranges from fried appetizers to side and entree salads to sandwiches, burgers and the usual fish/chicken/steak entrees. There was nothing particularly unique about the menu except that everything looked pretty inexpensive. Many of the entrees were under $9! We started with the onion rings, which were lightly battered in a semi-sweet breading and served with two dressings. Then, I split the barbecue chicken salad. The salad was large enough for at least three people to share and it was pretty good. I mean, it was a salad so there was nothing extraordinary about it. The croissant that came with it was nice and flaky. I also tasted the catfish which was perfectly breaded. The mashed potatoes had a nice flavor but they needed some salt and pepper. The red beans and rice were nicely seasoned. We finished with the hot fudge cake sundae, which reminded me of the Shoney's hot fudge cake that I loved in my childhood. The apple pie was tasty as well. Our service was great, from our waitress to the manager and everyone at the table seemed to enjoy the food. I doubt that I would ever suggest eating at Cheddar's but if I find myself there again with friends and family, I'll enjoy the meal. read more

There were 15 of us and we were seated very promptly and luckily we had an amazing waitress, Sydney, who was super friendly and patient with our group. You definitely get a bang for your buck dining here. Portions are huge. Perhaps that's one reason to keep customers coming back. I ordered the Dijon Chicken and Mushrooms served over rice. It came with two sides and I chose the Broccoli Cheese Casserole and Butter Corn-off-the-cob. I also ordered a Vinaigrette House Salad with a Croissant for an extra $1.99. Croissants are to die for.
