After a two hour drive from home, we stopped at Cheddars for a late lunch. We are familiar with The chain and have never been disappointed with either the food or service. This time however we waited an hour for our food to arrive. Tables seated after us were served way before us. One family seated after us dominated our server before she could take our order. Of course, their meals came out before and our server said those meals were quicker to prepare and "that's the way it is". We tried to locate the manager to voice our disappointment and how we were inconvenienced by the delay but no one bothered to come to the see us. read more

What the heck, Cheddar's? It's bad enough that you don't require your servers to wear masks. We can accept that, but that doesn't mean we want the servers breathing on our food. When our server brought our food out, instead of placing it down immediately, she says, "I've got to warn you, these plates are HOT, HOT, HOT!" I'd get them again. But not from here. But the true one-star moment came with dessert. I purposely ordered a small meal so I'd have room for a monster cookie, a longtime favorite dessert. When they brought it out, I could tell it had been sitting because the ice cream was so melted I couldn't see the cookie underneath. I took my spoon and dug in searching for the cookie. Came here last weekend after my daughter's photo shoot. I love Cheddar's; first time at this location. For the appetizer, we ordered the SANTA FE SPINACH DIP! I haven't been disappointed as of yet. Except no one came to curbside to give me the food, so after I waited 15 mins I went inside to get it. They also didn't give me the baked potato. Honest mistake I am sure so that's not the reason for my 1 stars. The lemon chicken was like dried up rubber, almost inedible. You needed knives as teeth to chew it. I ate at Cheddars in Maryland before so when I saw it in Orlando I thought it would be nice to try out again. The croissants were just as I remembered; perfect combination of buttery and sweet simply baked to perfection. The painkiller was no joke, but I definitely enjoyed it and see exactly why they limit them to (2) per guest. The coconut shrimp were over cooked, however the chips and queso were yummy. The kids enjoyed their food; my friend ordered the fried chicken meal and said it was pretty good. I had the grilled white fish (catfish) which was tasty but could've been more blackened/grilled. Our server was really considerate when I told him that I had just had a dental procedure and I was trying to avoid foods that were chewy, or hard. Service was not good. Me and my girlfriend ordered some food for our anniversary. We where visiting and decided too get take out. When I pulled up at the take out, they came out and told me it was getting bagged and it would be 5 minutes or so. I waited at least 10 plus. That is not the issue. I then went in side and I had the electric bike and told her that I was getting charged for the minute. They finally get too me after I plead with her that I'm getting charged by the minute. They finally start looking around and they didn't even start it. They asked if I wanted to wait longer. I couldn't because it would charge me more. Don't know how some one can say it's almost done too it even didn't get started. We we're both so happy too try out there food but never had a chance to try it out. We have driven past this place uncountable times and always thought it would be a typical national chain type restaurant. We were not completely wrong, but it does stand out a little above similar eateries in my opinion. The first thing they bring you is a warm, scratch made croissant with a honey butter glaze. Absolutely amazing, but unfortunately they were the highlight of the entire meal. Not to take away from the quality from the rest of our meal, but the free bread should not be best item placed on the table. We had the Wisconsin Cheese Bites for an appetizer. Very good with a unique horseradish dipping sauce. The meals we choose were: Grilled Chicken Pecan Salad, Grilled Shrimp Alfredo, and Country Fries Steak. Everything was seasoned well and tasted good. I believe you can taste the difference when food is prepared from scratch. There is a strength to the seasoning, which would be more bland from pre-prepared meals (at other national chain restaurants). We love Cheedars and miss it locally ! There are some changes but overall the same food with a couple of missing staples from past. Most items are fried. It's Friday night and we are seated without issue. Bar is open to dining room but big enough for all. It's very noisy however. They now use kiosks for appetizers and payment which moves things in concept. Our appetizer took along time however overall with 15-20 minutes for Cheese Kurds. We ordered several entrees including the chicken fingers, chicken wrap, and son wanted fish and chips. (He later was pissed to find they don't stock Malt Vinegar). The fish was not catfish, but whitefish, and cornmeal battered. Funny as all other fried items have a beer type batter. He liked the different texture but had to dip in Ranch since he didn't like the Tartar Sauce included. Our waitress visited a couple times and quite nice. She was strangely absent during close out as we needed a couple takeout containers for excess. Bill ran about 60 bucks and we do not drink sodas nor liquor. Prices went up but seemed fair overall for portions provided, other than perhaps the small appetizer. The missing items on menu include their famous queso with meat topping add. Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen recently opened next to Delmonico's. It's a perfect place for a family to visit after enjoying a day at SeaWorld. The restaurant is family friendly and they have a good children's menu. The service was dragging even with the contraption on the table that allows you to order drinks,appetizers or call your server. Turns out that the call your server means that the server has to see it before they stop by. Our call the server request went through two cycles before someone stopped by. In fairness the restaurant was very busy with every table occupied. I was in a hurry because it was late and I had two cranky four year olds to feed. We spent the day at SeaWorld so they were tired and hungry. I ordered the children chicken strips that came out of the kitchen amazing. They were so moist and the batter taste great. The fries were mushy but they didn't want to eat them anyway. The pot pie was delicious. The scratch made cream sauce was light and seasoned nicely. We were excited to try this place being it's a scratch kitchen, but we were sorely disappointed. We went for a late lunch after 2 pm. The place wasn't crowded at all. We were immediately seated, but it took about 5 minutes before someone came to greet us. Our Waitress/ Bartender finally came over to greet us and take our orders. We ordered our Drinks and Appetizers and they came out after normal wait about 10 mins. Then we were waiting and waiting and waiting on our Entrees for about another 30 minutes after we finished our Appetizers. We saw our Waitress at the Bar making and mixing Drinks. So that's why we were waiting so long for our food. She had to manage the Bar too and wait tables, but she was at the Bar most of the time. We saw several Runners and Waiters and even the Manager walk right by our tables several times and no one came to pick up the empty Appetizers Plates that were on the end of the table, that should of been an indication that we were finished. Another couple came in after us and sat next to us and got their Food before us.They had a different Waitress though. My Husband got so mad he went up to the Hostess stand were the Manager wasn't doing anything and told him what was going on. So we finally got our Food, but by that time we was ready to just leave. Our Food tasted like it was sitting under a heat lamp. When the Waitress came over to ask how the Food was, he got the New Orleans Pasta my Husband told her not good at all, the Pasta was dry and the Shrimp was overcooked. He didn't eat it, Mines was ok, I had to ask for a refill on my Tea too. We asked for the Check and when the Waitress came back she said, they took the Pasta off the check. As always Cheddar's delivers on excellent quality and service at great prices. This was our first time at this location but not to the franchise. They always deliver great food at affordable prices but usually when chains have locations near International Drive the prices go up as the quality goes down which I guess is understandable with the volume of customers they have to deal with. Once they opened we were greeted and quickly escorted to our table. There is a beautiful fish tank at the entrance and the booths are comfortable . As we were looking thru the menu a plate of honey butter croissants appeared as if by magic. OH BOY! Those were delicious and fluffy without being flaky. For appetizers we ordered the spinach dip with chips. I would have wanted the cheese to be a little more melted since I could still see the shredded cheese but that is a minor thing. I ordered the monte Cristo sándwich. It's ham, Turkey and cheese them battered and then fried. Yes I said fried and dusted with a little powdered sugar. It comes with fries and a little thing of raspberry preserves. The saltiness of the sandwich paired with the sweetness of the preserves made me happy . There was an order of chicken tenders and two sirloins. The lemonades were refreshing, regular, strawberry and raspberry. I would say one of the best I've tried so far. I don't like peas but I was digging in to the very end. The food was good. The wait was short(15 minutes). The server had many tables and we didn't receive any service to speak of. We left an 18% tip though the server didn't earn it. Walked by our table many times and didn't appear friendly until it was time to pay. The table next to us had to call the manager and after that meeting the entire party got up and left the restaurant. We don't recommend. read more
