Had dinner here tonight, horrible horrible service. This is not the first visit here but it is the last. Every time we've been here the service is slow, we get a total of one drink, no refills, the wait staff disappear for a while and come back with the check. The runners bring the food, again saw the waitress when she brought the check. The food was mediocre at best. I've been to the cheddars in Bedford, tx and its leaps and bounds ahead of this place. I've been here multiple times but this was by far the worst experience I've had and the reason I will not return. It was a Sunday evening 2 wells ago, we had a party of 6 (three adults and three children). Our order was taken at 9pm. The waitress never came to check on us and only after getting up to find her she stated she thought we already had our food. At 9:45 our food arrived and it was horrible. The bourbon glazed salmon was extremely overcooked, the baked potatoes were undercooked and none of the food was hot. The bill arrived and had a survey number on the bottom of it, when we gave it to the waitress to pay our bill, she threw it away. When we asked for a reprint she kept telling us the manager told her out could not be done because the ticket had been closed out. I asked to speak to the manager and after another 20 minutes I had to walk through the restaurant to find him. After explaining the entire horrible ordeal to him he apologized, stated he was unaware of anything that had taken place, reprinted a receipt and deducted both salmon meals. read more

We came here on a Saturday just after they open. We had 11 in the party. When we walked in we told me at 11AM the hostess said we usually we don't like to see that many in a group and you are going to have to wait for a while. It was hardly anybody in the place and that it just opened. Another customer came up to the front while we're talking to the hostess and said here's my water, thanks for letting us wait so long without serving us and left. Wow! Can we learn what customer service is?? I went today with my daughter and her friend. The orders from the start were wrong.... Two of the same salads were ordered, but they came out completely different. By the time the waitress came back (10 min. later) there was no point in getting them corrected. The order came out and instead of Mac n cheese I got broccoli and cheese. When she did return w/ my Mac, (I timed another 10 min) it was cold and BURNT! My daughter ordered chicken pot pie, but got gristle pot pie. At this point I called the manager over. He was soooo nice to offer free desert.... REALLY? How about the food to be corrected?!?! We got the check and left, but then the manager runs out. He gives us 3 cards that he says they are for free appetisers. As I look at the cards, they are all 3 for free chips and cheese (the cheapest thing on the menu) but best of all.... THEY EXPIRED LAST YEAR!! GREAT JOB MANAGEMENT! Ok, I have eaten at this particular chain before, in Lubbock, San Antonio, but this one was by far the worst! Its amazing how one bad server can ruin a meal. She approched my table with a distracted look on her face, seemed disinterested to take my order and then messed up my order. The worst part of all, even when I told her what the problem was, she was still not able to bring toast to my table. It took her manager to bring it - after 30 minutes - TOAST FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!!!!! Then the wierd looking manager with long hair pulled back in a ponytail with all kinds of earrings tried to talk to me about me meal - c'mon - I'm trying to eat, not get grossed out by unprofessionalism. We went there a few days ago around 5pm thinking it would be a good time for a party of 8. When we got there we had to wait for a table even though there were only a few people in the restaurant. then our waiter took 10 min to come to the table to take our drink orders and it took 45 min for our food to come out. I love Cheddar's! The food is good, the price is even better and generally the service is on point. However, I recently went to cheddar's for my daughter's birthday and Cheddar's fell short! Yes, we had a large party, however, that was one of the reasons we selected Cheddar's because they are good with large groups. However, this time they had one waitress covering our table as well as the other tables in the back area! REALLY Cheddar's! One waitress for all these people! Needless to say the service was sloooooowwwwww, drinks watered down, etc. If I'm not a bar customer I should not have to go to the bar to get my drink. I will not give up on you yet Cheddar's but if this is what 2016 is going to consist of, I will have to go some place else. read more

I never thought that I'd spend my vacation waiting for a plate of food! My wife & I waited & waited & waited for at least a half an hour. We finally got up and left (hungry). We cooked at home. Went there tonight and was good. Biggest issue is that the dining room on the south side (facing fish daddy's) is always cold. They have hanging plants and when they are swaying due to the air from the HVAC it can make you cold. The food was good, and our server was awesome. We has Jesus as our waiter and our drinks were never empty and was very attentive. If you go here ask for him and you will likely be taken care of. I did the mistake of going on a Sunday, it was packed and the staff was very uncaring. Cheddar's is a favorite go-to restaurant for me but the staff's customer service has deteriorated greatly. On Sunday it was packed and the hostess was very cold and indifferent. We had to wait over an hour to get seated because the hostess had forgotten about us. It wasn't in till we asked why so many other people were going ahead of us. By the hostess reaction it was palpable that they had forgotten about us. They finally sat us down without an apology or anything. I asked to speak to the manager and she greeted us and asked what the problem was. All she did was give us a free appetizer. I honestly wanted to leave but I didn't want to make my friends wait at another restaurant. Now I know I will be avoiding this location. The one on 183 maybe further from me but the staff is much friendlier, I will be going to that location from now on. read more

Writing this while still sitting in the restaurant. Our experience began when being seated and the hostess dropped my silverware on the floor, picked it up and proceeded to leave it on the table for me. Hmmmm. Waiter greeted us timely, took our beverage order quickly, and our food order. And then we waited...20+ minutes. He finally returned and when asked about our food explained that one our orders was wrong so they had to redo it. So we sat 20+ more minutes and it finally arrives. My meal, not exactly what I ordered had been sitting under the heat lamp while the other was being redone. So, side dish had a crusty topping, chicken was cold and as stated before wasn't prepared the way I requested. Waiter was dumbfounded when I made a comment about sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes. He says, "Well, I didn't want it to get cold." 30 MINUTES! Haven't seen the waiter since he left the food. Ugh!!! Some poor employee just came to table to make an apology. Said all the right things, but I'm afraid too little, too late. read more

I've been to this location a few times and it seems that the service just gets worse and worse. Today, I traveled here with a party so I understand that it takes awhile to serve a party. Long story short, my order was a simple soup and salad. Not only was I the last person served (at least 10 minutes after everyone else in my part was served) but my order didn't even come out at the same time. I received my salad first, 10 minutes later got my soup with the waitress warning me to "be careful because it's super hot"... it was stone cold! The soup had congealed because it was so cold! Really??? Of course, I sent it back and had to wait again for a hot soup. Now being a former waitress and not wanting my food spat on, I chose not to act a fool in front of my boss and coworkers. I didn't fuss. Instead I let the waitress correct the problems. But I can guarantee that we won't be coming back to this location. read more

Cheddars I35 Pflugerville. Sad to say we had a really bad experience last night at Cheddars. I ordered Chicken Pot Pie and it came to the table burnt. Not slightly dark.....really dark and had no sauce inside. I did not eat it obviously and when the waiter came by asked him to take it back. I said instead of taking a chance on it again I would take Spasanga with Marinara sauce. I asked him to just make it to go as my daughter would be done eating by the time it would come back. We also had my one year old granddaughter with us and her patience lasts just so long. So, eventually he brought the to go container and there is was...marinara with meat. I do not eat red meat and did not order it that way. This is my go to Cheddars meal so I know they make it all the time without meat. So, once again I said just take it. Along story short I never even got to eat dinner and went home to leftovers. The other thing was we were never given water despite my daughter requesting it twice. The other advice I would give is pay attention to the floor. It was covered with food. I know you all are busy, but when someone makes a significant mess there should be someway to deal with it rather than watching everyone walk through it. So very disappointed. I think if a meal is made wrong twice thuan manager should have been notified. I paid $22.00 for my daughters meal and drink. I had a coke and went home frustrated with the experience. read more

My family and I had the worst experience. The first time we visited it took forever to get seated and our meals. The excuse given, that there was a large group, didn't explain the length of time we waited. Given that we came in late already, we were starving by the time we received our order. My husband, very particular of his meals, found a hair in his meal and much to my surprise, decided to keep eating until he found another hair. The kitchen manager brought out a new serving apologizing about the way it was cooked. My husband explained to her that the issue was not that it was not cooked correct but that there were two hairs in the food. After she learned what really happened, she apologized for the hairs but it did not sound sincere at all but more like we shouldn't be that sensitive and what does it matter. When we received the bill, we were charged the full amount for the meal. On the way out, we decided to let the restaurant manager know about the way we were treated. He apologized and ensured us that it was not the way customers were treated at this restaurant. Even thanking us for letting him know so he could address the issue. He gave us his business card with a hand written voucher for another meal covering our whole family and promising that we would be excellent taken care of the next visit even if he was not at work. His staff would make sure of that. A few weeks later, we decided to give Cheddars another try. My son is just a little over a year old and we were seated at a table where, due to it being a major pass-through, a highchair could not be used. We were given a booster seat. I quickly noticed that he would not be able to sit in the booster chair without falling out but before I could request another table, we had another issue. I handed the business card of the restaurant manager with the meal voucher to the waiter as soon as we got to the table. The waiter came back to let us know that the restaurant manager was not in that day and that they could not honor the promise he made since he was not there to confirm. Basically, he called us liars trying to get something out of the restaurant we should not have. We asked for the manager on staff. Only after other customers noticing what was going on, he changed his tune and wanted to honor his bosses promise. Needless to say, we did not take him up on it and left and do not plan on ever returning to any of the Cheddars locations. Visited restaurant on 7/3/15 about 1:15 with wife and grandson and was seated in about 5 min. Server promptly took drink order, returned with drinks and took order. He kept our drinks replenished. The problem was with food delivery. After about 30min. he came by the table and said that our order was behind 2 other large parties and would be out in 4 min. After he left the table next to ours got their food and they had been seated 15-20 min. after us. Our server passed the tables saw they had their food muttered something and brought our food about 2 min. later. My burger was hot but wife said her food was cold. The server made no apology and offered no discount on food. We paid and left. Our ticket had a survey which I submitted and I have not heard a word from them since. Not likely to go back. Had bad experience at Waterloos also and haven't been back there in over a year. Too many restaurants in Austin for a restaurant to give bad service. You can go elsewhere. read more

We had a group of 9 at lunch on Sunday. We had a 45 minute wait. We ordered our drinks and food. Two plates arrived but that was it. Then 3 more and then 3 more but not the last one. Two plates were supposed to be cornmeal fried fish. It was grilled. We told the waitress it was the wrong order but she argued with us and said that the fish was in fact fried in cornmeal. (It wasn't). One of the other plates did not have coleslaw and it never arrived. Another one had fries which was supposed to be broccoli. My plate was still missing and we had asked for refills of our drinks 3 times and still no refills had arrived. I spoke to the manager who was polite but only said she would investigate because the waitress was new. After everyone at the table was done eating my salmon arrived. I just had them put it in a to go box. So, 5 out of 9 orders were wrong. I was eventually told that my order was never placed by the waitress. The manager did not charge us for the two grilled fish orders and my missing salmon and drinks but the whole experience was terrible and I thought the entire ticket should have been complimentary. I'll never go back to this place as long as I live. Horrible experience and a half hearted attempt to apologize was not enough to have me ever go back. read more

The Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen in Pflugerville provided a class experience. There is simply no other way to describe it. The ornate and unique ceiling fans were as appealing to the eye as they were responsible for the pleasantly comfortable indoor temperature. The paper napkins were high quality, feeling as though they were constructed of composted recycled material. The atmosphere was cheerful, comprised of multicultural families all out to enjoy Christmas Eve. We were greeted by a delightful hostess who complimented my mom on her shirt. Our waiter, Christian, was nothing short of amiable as he patiently served our family. He lacked nothing in Christmas cheer despite the fact that he had to work the night preceding the big holiday. In fact, his blinking light necklace and extra-long Santa hat left my family and me feeling more festive than ever before. Christian brought drink refills to the table throughout the entire duration of our meal without any of us even prompting him to do so. But his conscientiousness didn't end there-- he also gave us multiple time updates on the remaining minutes until our delicious food would be ready and brought out to us. After our meal, we wanted to carry on our family tradition of taking a picture together, which Christian willingly and professionally captured, resulting in a spectacular lasting memory. The menu itself had a plethora of reasonable options available, including many combinations to provide customers with the best of both worlds. I chose a steak and ribs combo with a side of broccoli that truly enlightened my tastebuds. The meat practically fell off the bones of the ribs and the broccoli was steamed to perfection. The wait was timely and Christian never failed to make us feel comfortable and right at home. We suggest never to go to Cheddar's in Pflugerville, TX. We had to wait an hour and a half for food that never came. We only had a party of eight in a half empty restaurant. The waiter was at first responsive, but when we asked the manager on 3/14/14 at 11PM the status of our food he was not responsive. Then the waiter told us that the baked spaghetti on our order was no longer available because they ran out, from then he looked lost during our visit. We walked out due to lack of service. The hostess team at the front didn't provide any assistance either. When one of us in our party found the manager to tell him that we were leaving and not paying for our drinks and appetizers he was at a table talking to other patrons he just said "okay". No customer service whatsoever. We will never go there again because the floors in the dinning area (we had to ask the waiter to clean our seats) and the bathrooms were dirty and sub-standard, not to mention the service.
