Our last visit "chicken fried steak night" Both my son and I ordered the special of the day ( normally I'm a #2 with Swiss guy). Him ordering just prior to me. When asked; I stated that I would have the same except that I did not want gravy. Meals all came, mine with gravy. Of course when asked; I reminded the young lady that I did not want the gravy. Return to our table without the gravy , breaded fine, yet some how burnt to C*AP. One wonders: was breading and gravy being removed, rebreaded and the meat cooking twice? H*LL my mouth tasted so burnt, I was extremely grateful the the mint bowl was soon the lobby ( kind of) Well , good luck fellows I truly want this to be another successful endeavor for you. Didn't have patience for Crafthouse's service pace or downtown parking. Chef here's been flexible and fun, and I knew there was a spacious lot and likely a quiet atmosphere. When I arrived, the bar seating was nearly full plus a table of perhaps five. Country music played, I took a booth in the back. My favorite steak is gone from their re-done menu, and it was too busy for Chef to pop out and chat, if he still works here. They were out of real eggs, so I got a cheeseburger and a side of broccoli. When the waitress asked if I wanted bacon since I couldn't have the egg, I said sure. My Lynchburg lemonade was heavy on the lemon but good with the liquor, and that burger was undisputedly enormous. The broccoli was in good condition and generous. A request for soda was forgotten but rectified. Different employee brought the bill, which (1) did not reflect my 10% discount for check-in (I'd showed my waitress; she hit the button on my phone to accept it) and (2) while the menu says add bacon for $.50, I was charged $2.50. It was a big meal and I thought they might be a little shorthanded, so I didn't feel it worth the fuss. Just saying you should check your tab. Cheeseburger (add bacon) with side of broccoli, one Coke and an alcoholic drink for $26 before tip.

We were in from out of town visiting family at their restaurant, and she was so attentive and super kind about us taking up her table longer. We started off with onion rings and they were delicious. The ranch is pretty great also. I couldn't help I get the chicken fried steak with a homemade fries. I live in Las Vegas and there are some things that you just can't get that equal Texas cooking. All of it was super great. Sometimes when you get chicken fried steak, it's greasy from the frying there was none of that here. The steak was flavored good. The batter was flavored great and it was crispy and the gravy was flavored. I mean, Texas folk definitely know how to season their cooking. The fries are so good and dipped in my gravy from the chicken fried steak and I was in heaven. My son ordered a cheesesteak. It looked good and he enjoyed it. I have to teach him to be a little more southern though when he orders. Just kidding. I love the feel of Pat's Place. It's an old house converted into a restaurant and it does feel like you're eating a home-cooked meal in a friends house. It's unbeatable. I appreciate after all these years, this place still rocks. The manager was also making his rounds and we had a long conversation super nice guy. As for the food, you can never go wrong with Texas roadhouse.
