Today me and my sisters took our mom to eat here this afternoon, it was our first time and it was so amazing , our waiter was super nice, his name was Brandon, he ended up mixing up our cards an charged the wrong meals and I think he got in trouble but OMG no he was the sweetest ever he checked up on us often an was very patient with us. Celebrating my husband's birthday today and daughters boyfriend gave him a gift card for Christmas so that's where we went. He always starts with desert first, so he started with the Cookie Monster. After he ate every bit of it, he had the buttermilk chicken sandwich and fries. I started with their croissant and the 6 oz sirloin with broccoli and corn. The steak was ok, I've had better. 1st to this location was short. I walked in to take a seat at the bar. There was no bartender present for about 3-4 minutes. While sitting I notices gnats flying around the drafter beers. I then notice gnats sitting on the entire stack or stirring straws. Regular straws and napkins. When the bartender came I told them and stated I would not eat nor drink in this restaurant. UPDATE 7/13/23: Cheddars corporate customer care team reached out and were fabulous. I emphasized that I wanted to ensure the server was protected, and that the manager received coaching. They're going to have the regional director ensure this happens, and they offered me a gift card for future visits even though I said we really hadn't sought any compensation throughout this. I'm really happy with how they handled it, and am updating my review and * rating. WAS, 7/8/23: I let the server know my BBQ burger was bad, completely flooding the plate with grease and had a terrible greasy rancid texture, and she was awesome removing it and sending the FOH manager to our table. The FOH then proceeded not once but twice to argue with me that he "100% guarantees that there's nothing wrong with that burger", which he hadn't even seen. Dude, don't argue with your customer over NINE DOLLARS of food. We are now paying and walking out, not ordering anything else, not even waiting for you to comp the plate. THAT WASNT THE POINT. Don't know why I thought this place is good. Just kinda hum drum. We'll start off with the wait on a Sunday evening was 20 -25 minutes, didn't look very busy. So we sat, waiting patiently, with two kids, there were five of us. Finally got up to check our status, cause we gave our grandson the phone that we were to be sent a text to. Good thing I checked, our table was ready. We were seated at the corner table in the bar area, like where you sit the kids that you don't want seen or heard. Finally, about 20 minutes later, saw the manager, and asked him to get us a waitress, he was kind enough to take our drink order, but we also told him we were ready to order, did I mention we had two kids with us. While the manager was taking our order, the waitress came over and asked how long we had been waiting, well, that just pissed me off. Sad to say, I didn't enjoy the rest of the time there. My wife had the Monte Cristo, which was not too bad, sweet and savory, kinda like a funnel cake batter( sweet) and ham( savory). I had the the chicken buffalo wrap, pretty bland. I've ate at Cheddars before and enjoyed it. Not so much this time. Got seated pretty quick and looked at the menu before my server finally came. Ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and a house salad before the main meal. My salad came, and my server literally put it on the table, pushed it towards me, and ran. Not 2 minutes later, my chicken fried steak came. I didn't even have a chance to have 2 bites of it after putting the dressing on it. The steak was quite large, and after cutting into it, I found out why it was this large. They pounded the crap out of it and put about 4 times the breading to steak. The top part of the breading was at least 3/4 thick with the steak, maybe 3/16 of an inch. Plus, there was only a small dollop of gravy on the steak. The potatoes were good, but even they didn't have enough gravy. My server came back one more time to ask if I needed anything. Well, maybe you could notice my empty tea and ask about it. I was offered another one but I was in a hurry and did not want to wait, Broccoli casserole tasted like it had been there all day.
