We come here often. Food is good and consistent. Front of the house is bad. Turnover is high. No matter how crowded, if there is a shift change, there will be 10-15 empty tables and 50-60 people waiting to be seated. Its been the same for over a year. read more

It started OK and then turned horrible. First the customer service was bad. Not only did we have to wait over 40 minutes for our meal three employees while cleaning a table directly behind us were behaving as if they were outside in the street having a conversation. They were very loud and very rude. The thing that pushed us to the brink is when my daughters pasta dish finally arrived. A plastic bag was mixed in with the pasta and sauce. We waited an hour to be seated, and once we were seated we laughed and enjoyed our party of 9 ... until the two people near us complained of our happiness. Management came over and threatened to kick us out, right when our food arrived. Of course, this made us uncomfortable eating. We left, and are truly shocked by the poor management at this location. Finally made it here and the food is awesome. The service could have been better. The wait wasn't bad, as our buzzer was going off about 15 minutes of us getting back to the car to wait. Which is good for a Saturday evening. We requested a booth, and were sat directly at the entrance/exit of the kitchen. It was like grand central station. We had to hear many of the servers conversations as they were exiting the kitchen. Also many of their complaints about the kitchen and their tables. We saw many of what could have been really bad collisions between servers/hostesses on several occasions. Our waitress was nice, but seemed to be a little off key. She forgot many things that were requested and was very slow to get back to us with the things that she did remember. Quite a few of the items we had to either stop a waitress or another server as they walked by. Their food however was really fresh and everything was good. All vegetables were really good, which is a big plus in my book. I will be returning in the future, definitely not sitting anywhere near the kitchen on the next visit. read more

I was visiting the area with friends, and we thought we'd try Cheddars; the food is pretty standard chain restaurant fare, burgers, tenders, some salads, etc. The food wasn't bad; again, like most chains, it was a bit too salty for my taste. But that could be just personal preference? Anyhow; even though we got there at the height of a very busy lunch hour, we were seated promptly and our food arrived fairly quickly. Cheddars in York Pennsylvania is a great restaurant that I would eat at again. It is a beautiful and clean venue. My food, the dijon chicken and mushrooms with southern green beans and black beans, was delicious. My picky family liked their food too! They ate the ribs, bacon cheese burger, mac and cheese, and lemon pepper chicken. Best of all, we had outstanding service from Marissa! She did a fabulous job! Visited this restaurant recently for my mother-in-laws birthday dinner. On a Monday there was a 20 min wait which did go by fast. Since it is a new restaurant the staff isn't completely trained on all the ingredients. I ordered the fish taco's and they didn't come as ordered, plain and the steamed broccoli. The server and manager corrected and comped my order as an apology. The corrected order was hot, fresh and delicious. Beverages crisp and cold. Took a few extra minutes to get the sides with the entree's, they were brought right out. Our server was attentive. All the other guests at our table enjoyed their food as well it was hot and fresh. Very affordable as well. Easy parking, easy to find as well. We would visit this restaurant again. read more

We ate here for Fathers Day. They were busy, but we beat the crowd. Sarah was our server and she started off good, but then forgot my soup and it came within a minute of my meal. She was apologetic. Ordered the chicken caesar pasta salad and it was very good. However, they sat someone at a dirty table across from us!! The hostess signaled to the server to hurry up and move the dirty plates to the next table and sat people! The table was never cleaned! There were 3 young guys in the booth 2 down from us. Apparently several servers knew them because each one, including ours, decided to sit down in the booth to chat with them. One server ate off one of the guy's plate with his fingers! They must have been special because all 3 of their meals and drinks were comped. And the kicker was one of the servers was drinking a red bull right at the server station in the middle of the restaurant!! Some spilled out of his mouth so he wiped it with his fingers then went right to tables to check on his guests. I know that they have failed their health inspections, but I gave them a shot. I will not be going back anytime soon!! read more

My friends took me here for my birthday. I thought it would be a great because I love the one near Bay City TX but this one was awful. The waitress was short tempered and irritated by our request. By the end of our service she explained that the kitchen was having problems and she became more pleasant. We waited over 25 minutes for salads. Then our meal came in parts. I ordered salmon. I got my salmon but they couldn't find the person who took the bourbon sauce. 10minutes later I received my bourbon sauce. Then my broccoli & cheese casserole came after we were told the kitchen didn't tell anyone that they had ran out for the night. Oddly, my casserole had crumbled saltine crackers on top. No one enjoyed the meal. Fortunately, I know that all Cheddars aren't as terrible as this. But my 4 friends have vowed never to go to any Cheddars ever again. And that's unfortunate, because we eat out several times a week but Cheddars will never be on our agenda again. read more

We went this evening for dinner. We got there at 530 and walked in. It's a pretty building. There was no line but there was no hostess either. We waited almost 10 minutes and me walking down an aisle till someone noticed. There were 2 of us. We were taken to a large corner booth because the empty regular booths all had dishes in them. Still no big deal. Our waitress was a okay at first. She had a couple other tables so being a little slow was okay. When the food came out, she was not the one to deliver. They just sat it down and walked away. We figured or waitress would be around shortly to see if we needed anything but that was not the case. We wanted lemon for the seafood and a soda for me since my meal was spicy. She didn't come back until we were finished. I did ask for another drink and she literally walked by me 4 times without my drink, giving me a look (and jump) twice that she realized she forgot but it still didn't come until she brought the bill. No dishes were ever cleared either from apps to mixed drink to meal, even when she gave me the soda, she didn't take the empty glass. The food was average though a good quantity. Last night (Friday) we went to cheddar's with a group of 8 people. We tried to call ahead/make a reservation but they wouldn't on the weekend. When we got there they said it would be a 15-20 minute wait. We waited for over an hour. In the meantime they sat tables of 2-3 people. (They did offer us a large booth but said it only comfortably sat 6. We declined.) In my opinion they should have waited to seat smaller parties and instead wait until 2 tables close by became available ane pushed them together. By the time we were seated we were both hungry and frustrated. I will say that the waitress was very nice and the food was EXCELLENT. And believe it or not me and 2 other people went back the next day, were seated immediately, and the food was just as good. We ended up having the same waitress and she was just as pleasant. read more

My mom and I decided to go to this new place as we get tired of eating in the same places all the time. I would compare this to a Denny's, Chilli's kind of brand . We went during the first week of opening . The waiting time was around 1hour (but we actually where very lucky to get inside very fast as we only waited around 4-8mins). The Restaurant has a very nice Atmosphere , much fancy than the other chains I mention before. It's pretty much the same service you get in Olive Garden . Only that this place it's much cheaper. The food was OK, Service OK (They are New so they do mess up somethings). Overall it's a nicer place to eat. I would deft go back. read more

Visited here for the first time today, after much debate. I do not think we will return. The hostess and the girl who seated us both looked like they hate life, and only smile when they get paid to do so. They were not friendly. Before our server even got to our table, the table behind us grabbed her for a complaint-- their daughter's food was not correct again, and it was cold this time apparently. Not off to a good start for our first time here. Our server was very friendly, but lacking on knowledge. She seemed rather stressed out, but did not show it while talking to us. There was a fair-skinned blonde server with a short ponytail. A young woman with very clear mental disabilities almost walked in front of her. The mom/caretaker grabbed the young woman immediately. The server smiled and told them to go ahead. As soon as they were in front of her, she rolled her eyes, did some crazy head movements, and mumbled some stuff under her breath. WOW. I noticed then that she also did this will all her tables, she would smile at them, then turn around like Chuckie and roll her eyes or mumble. This woman should not have a job when there are so many deserving individuals in need. The other servers seemed confused, they quite often delivered things to the wrong tables, or had to turn around because they were going in the wrong direction. The aisles aren't very wide, and it's difficult with a server carrying a tray to get through and serve the table if other servers are walking. I saw servers bump into each other a few times, and none of the interactions were friendly. One server walked around looking like she was on her death bed, until one time she passed our table counting a huge wad of tips; she was smiling pretty big then. The manager seemed to be doing some sort of business. She would yell employees names before catching up to them, instead of waiting until she got to them. I did not see her stop at any customers' tables, and I did not see her smile at anyone. The meals weren't great, but it fit the prices. Except the app-- the loaded nachos tasted like plastic, and there was about a tablespoon of sour cream on the plate. read more

This was my third and probably last visit. It seems to me that the menu shrank along with the portion size. I got a sandwich that was just OK and the bread was toasted to the point it hurt to bite into it. The sandwich was a "Club sandwich that was supposed to have bacon on it. Out of the 4 quarters the sandwich was cut into, only one had any bacon at all. I also had a "Loaded" baked potato that was about the size of a tennis ball and just as tough and dry. I like the potato skin but couldn't eat this one because it was too tough to even cut with my serrated knife. There idea of "loaded" is a little sour cream and a light sprinkle of shredded cheese. (About 6 shreds of cheese). I also ordered a side of Cole-Slaw. The slaw was OK, but again, the portion was small. It didn't fill the tiny dish it was served in. My wife ordered steak. TOUGH! And full of Gristle. One section could not be cut with a steak knife, honest. As a side, she got the same tennis ball dressed as a baked potato that I did. She ordered onions and mushrooms with the steak. They came in those tiny side dishes and there weren't enough to cover half the steak. My daughter ordered the ribs, same tiny portion of slaw and corn. The corn was OK, Ribs were fatty. As I said, this will be my last visit. My first visit was soon after they opened and It was so bad I called the manager over and we left without paying. We waited over an hour for our food and when it came, it was COLD!! He gave us a voucher for a free meal in the future. When I returned a couple of months later for my second visit, I was told that since the previous manager didn't work there any longer that they wouldn't accept the voucher he had given us. After a few minutes of talking with the current manager, he RELUCTANTLY agreed to honor the voucher signed by the previous manager. And the food on the second visit was horrible also! My one star rating is generous. read more

My husband and I had dinner here tonight after trying 2 or 3 other times when the wait was too long (more than 45 minutes). The hostess said it would be about 20 minutes and it was almost exactly that when we were seated. Our server was pleasant & attentive without being a pest. he took our orders & to my surprise my side salad came out 3 minutes later. I had the chicken potpie (0ldfashioned style w peas, carrots & a baked top crust) - it was fantastic. definitely had the home-cooked flavors. My salad was fresh and so large that I shared it with my husband. We both commented that the dressing (honey lime) was really good. He had the grilled catfish with french fries & coleslaw. He is very picky about fish & said several times that everything was excellent. We didnt have room for desserts but thought that the minis @ 99 cents were a great idea. Oh, and almost forgot to mention that our entrees came out in 15 minutes from the time we ordered. Only drawback is the place is extremely noisy. Gave it 4 stars due to that. After waiting approximately 25 mins. for lunch, we were seated and ordered an appetizer (Nachos) as well as our meals. When we observed several tables who had been seated after we had receive their appetizers, we asked the server about it, who stated that she had just checked and she wasn't sure why the kitchen was taking so long. She then returned a moment later with the nachos. Our meals came out about seven to ten minutes later, but I had ordered the Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad, and was brought a Vegetable Alfredo. I am confident that I placed the order correctly, because I had not seen an Alfredo on the menu. The food runner apologized and explained that the order had been entered incorrectly and she would correct it. The server came by a few minutes later and said she had entered the order incorrectly and would follow up. My salad did not arrive until my husband and son had both finished their meal. I asked that the salad be boxed so I could eat it later. The server brought out a box and we then asked for our check. She brought the check and not only had there been no compensation for missing a meal with my family, but she charged us for the Alfredo, which cost a dollar more. Only after she noticed me looking at a menu did she approach to say that she'd meant to double check the price. She explained that she had to have a manager void the error. She did not return again for at least ten minutes, at which time she stated that it had taken her that long to locate a manager. She then took the bill back to ring up the credit card. Upon returning, she stated that she apologized for entering the order incorrectly, but that she had trouble finding a manager and it wasn't her fault it took so long. At that time I stated that if she was sorry, she should have brought a manager to the table. She stated that there were only two managers on duty and she had trouble locating them (but she had previously stated that the manager had to adjust the check). I don't know if she ever actually explained the situation to the manager, but she was quick to blame the manager and the kitchen for the difficulty. She stated, "I will apologize for my part-I put it in wrong." She declined to take responsibility for how long the salad took to come out or for the lack of a manager. I don't know if the manager was aware, but if he (Mr. Heinrichs is the GM according to our check) was, he might benefit from being more aware of how customers are treated by staff. I will say that I observed ample staff moving quickly at other tables, and the food was reasonably good for the price. However, in my opinion, a server is the representative of the entire business, and does not do anyone any good by shirking responsibility. read more

Waiting 15 mins to order our drinks, ok whatever, it gave us a chance to look over the menu. 15mins to receive our drinks, I'll give our waitress a chance... I'm considered to be a patient person. But waiting an additional 30 minutes to place our appetizers was ridiculous. We were almost completely done eating our appetizers until the waitress came back to take our entree order. Out of our fairly small party, everyone received their food accept me. 5 minutes later she comes back and asked me what sides I had ordered... 10 minutes later she told me it would be out shortly. By this time, everyone I was with was almost done eating their food and I still didn't have mine. Our waitress never even asked us if we wanted dessert, which we did! She walked passed our table with our checks but said she had to go get two more booklets and we never saw her again for another 20 minutes. Every time she would come back to our table she would say "Sorry, it's hectic". Really, cut the crap! I gave Cheddars the benefit of the doubt but it reins true what everyone is saying, the service is lousy.
