The cocktails were impeccable, and paired so well with each dish. Hilariously, they accidentally gave us the Garibaldi with the second course (kampachi crudo) instead of the third course with which it's meant to be paired (lamb ribs). But I actually felt like the Garibaldi paired better with the second course than the third course! There was such wonderful variety with the cocktails, and every single one was great in its own way. My favorites were the Garibaldi, the Greek Melon Punch, and the Mezcal Milk Punch, but we loved them all. The cocktails were also paced well. I'm not a big drinker by any means (I probably have one drink every two weeks) so I am definitely a lightweight. I was a bit worried that I'd be wasted by the end but the pacing was such that I finished with just a pleasant buzz, not stumbling out of there like I was afraid of! The food was lovely as well. While each snack is definitely snack-sized, I still feel like I got a really good taste of each one. I actually got to really savor each course and its unique flavors. My favorites were the smoked kampachi crudo and the squash blossom, as I felt like these had the most punchy yet balanced flavors. The lamb ribs were also incredibly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I feel like I would've preferred the octopus grilled rather than fried, which is just a matter of personal taste. We also had the upside down chili cheese tripe fries, which were delicious. (This is part of the aperitivo hour menu but not part of the tasting flight.) The fries are done in home fries style and are done perfectly, super crispy on the outside and fluffy and cloud-like on the inside. Service is excellent here, both via our main person Daniel, who was warm and hilarious, as well as the other members of the team who helped out with running food and clearing things away. It really seem like they work as a team and everyone was so kind. They helped us have a great time and we loved the laid back environment at Carrello. Overall, I think Carrello is definitely worth visiting. Now that I've been to aperitivo hour, I am plotting a return visit for their "feast for the table" and will definitely be back for happy hour again.

Bar menu food items are 50% off, featured glasses of red, white, or rosé are $8.50, beer pints are $6.95, and they also have specials on oysters, wine, and Champagne. A few of us ordered the featured rosé while others went with the featured red. Since we were with a group, we ordered several dishes to share, including the grilled octopus, beef carpaccio, beet salad, Margherita pizza, and the cheese and olive selection. I personally tried the Polpo Grigliato, which is grilled Mediterranean octopus served with chickpea-lemon vellutata, gigante beans, and chimichurri; the Carpaccio al Profumo di Rafano, made with Snake River Farms American wagyu beef, Parmigiano, horseradish, and arugula; and the Formaggi, a selection of cheeses and olives. Everything I tried was delicious, but that octopus was easily my favorite! It was flavorful, tender, and definitely the standout dish for me. The restaurant itself is spacious, although the patio is on the smaller side. We had a larger group, so we had to make a tight squeeze work, but we did! The patio is also a perfect spot for people watching, especially on a nice day. Our server was attentive throughout our visit and gave us great recommendations, which made the experience even better. For happy hour, the prices are wonderful, especially considering the quality of the food and drinks. I can't speak to the value of a full dinner yet, but based on this experience, I'd absolutely come back and check out the dinner menu during one of my next Seattle visits. I stated that this wasn't really cool, and at that point she said she'd speak to a manager. A manager then came over and said she couldn't refund any items, but she could offer us free dessert. She also gave me a little extra wine. I appreciate this gesture for sure, however, comping an item would've been definitely preferred, as we were already quite full from the meal and items we had planned to eat. Or, better yet, since we found out that the prices had changed in *January* and we were there in June, ensure that all the old menus are removed so customers can make informed decisions about cost when ordering their meals.

I like cheese on pizza, but this one had no contrasting flavor; no spice, acidity, or something to balance it out. This problem went away with this second one, though, with the margherita. This may be the best margherita in the city - its softly melted buffalo mozzarella and rich tomato sauce go so well with the light crust. If you are going to order any pizza from here - even if you really like meat - make sure it's the margherita. Which is odd for me to say because I generally prefer the non-tomato sauce versions. The last pizza was the funghi - another vegetarian. This lands somewhat in the middle between the two. It suffers from the same problem as not having a balancing flavor, but at least doesn't have too much cheese. It's solid enough. Each pizza costs around $25, which is somewhat expensive considering it's roughly enough for one person. Overall, I did certainly like the pizza style from here, but I'd stick to only the tomato-based options. 8.5/10
