Puttshack was a unique experience for me. I loved not having to write down the score after every…read morehole. No mental tabulation, no cheating, always knowing who is in the lead via large displays at each hole. I also enjoyed the extra layer of gamification like putt through here and get points deducted, answer this trivia question and putt the ball to the corresponding answer and get bonus points. There is also no need to deliberate where to set your ball down for the initial putt because you must put it in the indicated spot at each station. I loved it! I did eat some food here. That part was just ok- kind of over priced and not the widest variety of options. While it was very clean, including the restrooms, it was pretty cold so bring a jacket! It is at the mall with easy parking.

The food was just okay - the Boston tailpipes were a miss for me, the poutine wasn't as hot as it should have been and lacked something, and the chicken & waffles flatbread had jalepenos which wasn't my cup of tea. We played two rounds of 9 hole mini golf on the Ember & Emerald courses. The concept is cool but for the amount it adds to a normal mini golf game, it kinda takes away, too. The technology only allows one person in your party to complete the hole at a time. I love the taking turns aspect of the regular game so that was a bummer. Also, there's something about the colored balls with regular mini golf that I love. The ones here are all white. Some holes felt too easy - everything we did was under 4. I did like parts of the scoring system.

The service was pretty good , the drinks were overpriced like Boston prices for a couple old fashions that got watered down quickly. I had the salmon dish with rice. The portion was perfect , but it lacked flavor so it wasn't very satisfying. The best thing I liked was the dessert the chocolate mousse.

Our server was patient as we perused the menu and caught up with friends. I started with the equinox, which is their signature bourbon and cognac cocktail ($18) - it was good! The soft, pillowy rolls with butter was a nice start...who doesn't love delicious bread?! The steak frites ($41) was one of their specials that evening, and frankly, it wasn't too special. While it was a nice sized piece of sirloin that was cooked to my requested medium rare, it was a little tough and desperately needed the herbed butter it was served with. However, the menu offers a good variety of entrees, so there is something for everyone. We shared several desserts ($12 each), and again, all were good versions of familiar fare, such as creme brulee, bread pudding, flourless chocolate cake. The restaurant really seems to fit this affluent Boston suburb...a bit conservative, a bit pricy, nothing offensive or too risky, but everything done pretty well, if not especially memorable.

That said, the staff is very efficient and does an excellent job of getting people in and out without making the customers feel rushed (not always an easy thing to do in my opinion!). Don't be deterred by the line because it moves quickly and it is absolutely worth the wait. Eli's is a real hidden gem and great neighborhood spot for locals and those traveling from out of town. The food is DELICIOUS and the portions are huge. Food is fresh and made to order yet still comes out quickly! Staff are very attentive. Our recent orders have included the Truffle Shuffle Omelet, No Name Omelet, Porky Pig Omelet, Hot Mama Omelet and the Island Breakfast. All were incredible. The house made pico is super fresh. We usually ask for the sour cream on the side as opposed to on top of the omelet. My parents said the coffee was really good. Great array of hot sauces to choose from as well. Next time I need to remember to order my hash browns extra crispy (they are good as is but extra crispy is just a personal preference!). There is a great mix of people in the restaurant every time we go. People from all over and from all walks of life (families, elderly patrons, young couples, etc.).

My kids and their cousins came to enjoy it as one of their go to dishes. Just the right amount of spice and good crunch from the crispy nachos. A lot of iterations of Cottage have come and gone since we were first introduced to it almost twenty years ago. They still serve passionfruit iced tea that hits with a nice tart and a hint of sweetness from the orange. Their sandwiches are tasty, I had a blackened cod. The slaw was a touch too runny, it absorbed the heat of the sandwich and overwhelmed the poor onion ring. The cod survived the onslaught, though, and was well cooked and seasoned. Avoid the charcuterie. It was a mess that looked like it was sourced from the deli counter at the local grocery store. Service was friendly and prompt. Still a decent reliable spot in Wellesley!

But I wanted more of an authentic Caesar taste with an anchovies or Dijon, worchershire, egg and a normal stronger Caesar salad taste, shaved parmesan taste... like I've had elsewhere . It needs more flavor to the salad . it was ok but was just ok .... Dressing may have been out of bottle Caesar salad dressing. My guests their salad selections both looked well prepared . I missed my hot bread to eat as an accompli-ant to an any salad. It is a great dining environment and consistently good.
