Service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Since the restaurant is located in DC, street parking is the main option, but there are several paid garages nearby. The space offers plenty of indoor and patio seating, making it great for any dining vibe. We started with a couple of appetizers: the Fried Calamari and the Preserved Lemon Hummus. The calamari was perfectly seasoned and came with both a flavorful marinara sauce and a smoky chipotle aioli--both were fantastic. The hummus was fresh, generously portioned, and ideal for sharing. The entrée menu is extensive, so it took me a while to decide. I ended up ordering the Blackened Salmon. While I wanted to love it, it fell a little short. The salmon was cooked well and had decent seasoning, but the dish overall didn't stand out. The mashed potatoes had a bland, boxed texture and taste, and the broccoli--while plentiful--was served in oversized chunks that were a bit difficult to manage. This was a tale of two meals. On one side of the table was my very best friend who ordered a pasta dish that was a special menu item. He described it as very tasty with a great deal of mushrooms, perfectly cooked noodles, and a hearty portion size. He loved every bite. He ordered an Old Fashioned and thought it was solid - not the best, not the worst. On the other side of the table was yours truly who ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Whoever cooked that chicken that day hated chicken and hated sandwiches. It was tougher than leather, tasted like it had been abandoned to the desert and left to wilt under the sun. Was there chicken? I could not say because all I tasted was oil and burnt breading. The cocktail I ordered was more fit for hummingbirds than people. The restaurant was very busy when we were there. The table density was such that I couldn't push my chair back without touching another diner's chair and there wasn't a single empty seat. The waitstaff was spread thin and moved nonstop. Adding to the crowded hectic ambiance was the frequent sirens from the nearby fire-station. It left me with the impression that DC was perpetually on fire with how many times those sirens blared during our meal. I visited Chef Geoff's West End for the opening of the 2026 World Cup. The atmosphere, food, and overall venue were enjoyable, and I was looking forward to a great experience. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the behavior of the individual who identified himself as the General Manager. His attitude toward customers was unprofessional, disrespectful, and appeared discriminatory. I felt that guests were not being treated equally, which is extremely concerning. Management and ownership should seriously review and evaluate what occurred at the bar area during the World Cup event. Customer service starts with leadership, and no guest should feel singled out or treated unfairly. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future guests can have a better experience. read more

We didn't have a lot of time before our travels, so we picked a place very close to our hotel. This place has a large outdoor and indoor dining area, and the host and waitstaff are very nice (maybe even a bit excessive). However, for brunch, good coffee is a must and this is clearly not up to par. It's from a machine (according to our waitstaff), and my cappuccino just didn't taste very good. My friend with the americano concurred. I got the lobster roll. It was very excessively dressed with the coleslaw on top, but the lobster was good. There was so much sauce it was a knife and fork affair -- and the bun was not toasted (or got soggy). I wish they had left the lobster alone a bit more. It also came with a side of your choice, but the portion of the side salad is quite small. Overall I suppose it's not too bad, and it's spacious, but it's not for those looking for top notch brunch. Avoid. Staff commits fraud. Got a report that I had left an 80% tip - so they added almost $100 behind my back. Food and service is pretty mediocre, I can tip generously at times but absolutely not in this case. Restaurant responded once or twice and then went radio silent without resolving. They are scammers. Updating per the comment from management on this review: The staff messed up the receipt (not itemized), I paid the amount that I was presented with a tip, and then someone on the back-end went back to charge me more without contacting me (because of their mistake). I had multiple back and forth emails with the restaurant, including an implication that I had no idea what I was talking about or must be lying (even though someone on their staff had gone back to charge me more), and was issued a refund only because I thankfully had saved the receipt. I would never have gotten it if I hadn't been able to send the screenshot. I will note that I was fully refunded and I appreciate that, but the hassle and their attempt at covering this up wasn't great. I'm pretty disappointed with this establishment. read more

We are staying at a nearby Hilton to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We chose Che Geoff's because it's nearby and the menu looked good. It was amazing. Here's why: 1. Our server was Esme and she was so nice and had the best suggestions for our meals. She described the foods so well. 2. Everything we ate was *amazing*. I feel like I mostly eat for sustenance but this meal was for my mouth. Every bite made my eyes roll in deliciousness. 3. The relaxed feel. Not sweatpants relaxed- but leisurely dining. We had space in between appetizers, our main dish, and dessert to digest a bit. We had more room to eat more of the amazingness!! A lot of restaurants in Montgomery County feel hectic and loud. My friends and I reserved a table during DC restaurant week. We were excited to have a good hot meal on a frigid night. Our server was named Arthur and he was very attentive and thorough in responding to our questions about the menu. Since the restaurant is connected to a hotel, the vibe is casual to business types. We all ordered a variety of appetizers but mine was my fav which was a great balanced gumbo with a good amount of seafood, spicy but not on fire hot accompanied by white rice. Also ordered were the sweet & spicy cauliflower and crispy calamari-there were no complaints. Main entrees were my beef short ribs on a bed of mashed sweet potato, a lobster roll w/fries, blackened salmon w/potatoes & broccoli and the Andes protein bowl-again there were only sounds of hmm. Went last night for dinner, sat outside on a beautiful evening and truly enjoyed our dinner. Sageu was our waitress and greeted us, sat us. She did a wonderful job and took great care of us. This restaurant is attached to the Hilton Garden Inn on M and 22nd. We decided to eat here as we didn't want to venture too far from our hotel since we were spent from walking around DC in the hot and humid weather. We certainly wanted to sit inside. We ordered the fish tacos, grilled salmon, chicken sandwich, and the CG burger. All were good enough for us, and we certainly had enough leftovers for the following day as a snack. Kudos to our waitress for changing out our fries after the first and second batch simply tasted like they were either fried too long or simply stale. Was leary about trying the food there, thinking it was going to be overpriced, mediocre hotel food. Wow was I wrong!! The food was fabulous and I ended up eating there almost every night! Whether you order salad, salmon, fish tacos, guacamole and plantain, pizza or gumbo, everything was tasty and amazing!! We happen to be staying at the hotel across the street. We were in a hurry and we needed to have lunch. What an amazing surprising and delightful lunch we had. The service was impeccable. The ambience was clean, accommodating, comfortable, and very well represented. We were instantly seated and instantly had our drinks. I ordered the burger which was cooked to perfection and delightful. My husband ordered the pizza which came with arugula on top. It was very delicious. We did not have time for drinks, but the bar was well stocked and people were enjoying themselves. I highly recommend this place. My wife and I were in town sightseeing and our hotel and Yelp highly recommended this place and it was close by. We ordered cocktails. She had the bacon old fashion and had my standard vodka rocks. We started out with gumbo and lobster Mac n cheese. Both were excellent! I ordered the mushroom raviolis and she ordered the lobster roll. The entrees arrived before we were even 1/3 of our way through our apps. Ugh! Not only didn't we not have time time enjoy our appetizers but the entrees sat there til we were done. Waitress checked on us and asked if I wanted another drink, which I I agreed to. The raviolis were excellent but there was too much mayo on the lobster roll for my wife's taste. The waitress, I think her name was Jasmine, checked in again to see if we needed anything and I asked where my drink was. She looked confused and said she'd be right back with it. Just thought I'd update my reviews. It's not fancy, it's not high-faluntin', but it is good. I tend to go to Chef Geoff's a few times a month as it's close to my home and the food is consistent. There are a lot of business hotels in the area - one is connected to the restaurant - so that's the clientele typically eating here. As I said I find the food consistently good for what they sell. I enjoy a draft beer along with the blackened salmon and mashed potatoes but they also make a mean cheeseburger. I usually end up sitting at the bar to avoid any of the issues with slow service, which I have experienced in the past here, several times. read more

After a long day outside in the sun, walking through all the tourist attractions, my family that was visiting in town was happy to sit down at a cool restaurant that had an outdoor indoor vibe. Our server Esme was very accommodating and friendly and good with my little niece. When they were out of crayons for the kids menu she gave her one of her pens to keep her preoccupied. She also gave extra bowls for me to share the gumbo. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a drink. I got the 22nd and Marg, which was surprisingly refreshing with a nice spicy kick; my boyfriend got the Bacon Washed Old Fashion and enjoyed it as well. Okay so my previous review of Chef Geoff's was a reflection of a restaurant that exceeded expectations. While my latest visit had some good points, there were also some mis-steps this time. The sweet & spicy cauliflower is one of my all-time favorite appetizers! The perfect balance of hot and sweet - just enough heat to make me sweat a little under my eyes. And the cauliflower under the breading was crispy crunchy too. The breading too was very nicely done. This dish was a total win again. But my main dish - the Singapore shrimp - was underwhelming. It was supposed to be curried but did not quite hit the mark and seemed watered down. The dish was shockingly presented and messy looking. The various ingredients were not mixed together well - all the peppers were secluded in one part of the matted down noodles for one example. All in all, I kept waiting for that "Singapore" flavor but never got it. And I kept getting unpleasant bits of too many of the same ingredients at one time. For my drink - an Arnold Palmer - I had to send it back because the tea was certainly old and musty. Okay, Okay, I understand that Chef Geoff's is not fine dining but my last visit was so good that I was very disappointed this time. Our server, Nelson, also went through the night in a lackluster way. Polite enough, yes, but he did not seem to care about us or our meal. Will I go back to Chef Geoff's? Probably I will give them another chance. Do I recommend Chef Geoff's? Not at this time. read more

Either the crab was bad or the milk/cream in the sauce. Also, why would you put green beans and corn on ravioli??? It reminded of a white sauce for a chicken pot pie thrown on top of frozen (not fresh) ravioli. I can look past that, but the spoiled smell was a lot. *Steak 5/10 on bed of arugula? lol no flavor *Broccoli 5/10 needs garlic/butter no flavor *Mashed Potatoes 0/10 they were instant potatoes lol very starchy/gritty taste. *Cadillac Caesar Salad 0/10 - weird flavor profile, too sweet/tangy or something. *Cocktails 10/10 drinks here are very good.
