That's what we call it. Their food is leaps & bounds above everyone else's. We travel World wide & nothing compares to Chef King the Red Dragon. We love all the dishes but our most faves are the Shrimp & the House special Egg foo young & House special lo mein. The gravy for the egg foo young is very lemony. It's Superb. The best gravy of all the egg foo young I have ever had & the egg pancakes are thick & filled with shrimp, chikin, beef, pork, veggies ohhhhhhhh so delicious. Especially with their perfect white rice. :)... The lo mein is also EVERYONES fave! We like to serve it with an egg & chilies on top. We are fancy like that. They put tons of PROTEIN in theirs, with tiny carrots & very little cabbage. It's never wet, it's always filled with proteins & just the right amount of veggies. Superb. Another fave is the salt & pepper shrimp. It's a very light dish filled with shrimp, peppers & onions in a light savory sauce. Excellent. The General Tso's shrimp "spicy" is the BOMB! No one else makes it like they do. They make it with GIANT shrimp in a spicy/tangy sauce with broccoli. Superb. The sweet & sour pork is hubby's jam. He swears by her pink sauce, the "sweet & sour sauce." No one makes it like she does. Hers has tiny pineapple chunks in it. I'm not into the sweet & sour sauce like hubby is, but I do like the fried pork chunks. haha. I just eat those like doughnuts :)... We also LOVE her shrimp toast! My goodness hers need some kind of an award or something. The shrimp toast here are the largest I have ever had, rich, full of herbs & tons of flavor. Sublime. And the little crab rangoon are super delicious. We like to eat those for brekkie with coffee. Little cream cheese filled one bite doughnuts get in me belly little love bubbles. Yum Yum Yum :)... We ordered take out I ordered the chicken and broccoli. The food barely covered the bottom of the takeout container and it had 2 very small pieces of broccoli I the whole dish. My daughter ordered a chicken dish also and got 3 pieces of chicken! I'm wondering if they do this on a takeout order and give you the portion you should have if you dine in. Regardless the bill was 70.00 plus I gave a 10.00 tip. The price they charge doesn't match the portion size we were very disappointed and live close by and will not eat there again. read more

I'm officially giving up on Chinese food in Pensacola. I tried a place here a few years back and was thoroughly disgusted. Tonight, I I felt the feeling of disgust again. Maybe being from NY, close to NYC makes me a Chinese food snob but this was not what I'm use to. I ordered general tso chicken, an egg roll and fried wontons. The General tso chicken taste like it was literally made with dishwater, The egg roll was over cooked and tasted like old grease, and the fried dumplings were ok. Chicken tastes old like it was made in the morning and sat under a lamp until it made it to my house late afternoon. Rice taste like a dirty kitchen. Even though there were only a few other reviews, this was the only Chinese restaurant in the area where there were no horrible reviews, so we decided to give it a shot. It was a good choice. We had the best Chinese food since coming to Pensacola. Having lived overseas, and in Hawaii, we are very picky about our Asian food. We did take out using their online menu, and it was very easy. Hubby ordered the spring rolls and Szechuan shrimp, and I ordered the hot & sour soup and Hunan shrimp. Everything was completely delicious. The sauces were flavorful, and had just the right amount of heat. The hot & sour soup was very tasty and contained authentic Asian ingredients. The restaurant itself isn't anything special: not a true dining ambience. There is room for improvement. But we will def be ordering from them again. read more

The rice was like glue the egg roll was over cooked the wan ton soup had no taste at all, The orange chicken some was cooked to long and some pieces were hard. They called me at 1:30 to see if I was coming when I told them when I ordered that I would be there at 2pm and had already given them my credit card number. The buffet in Pensacola is much better but this place is a hole in the wall. My husband and I just ordered from this place and i was disappointed. The dumplings and the chicken teriyaki was ok. everything else was blah, even bland. ordered the shimp toast appetizer and didnt like at all, looked burnt to me. the wontons for my soup were stale and i orded pork fried rice with my meal and got chicken. kinda hard to mess up an online order when its written there right in front of them but they did! dont think we will be ordering from Chefking in the future. read more

I don't think this is a four star Chinese restaurant, maybe three and a half. The egg drop soup wasn't bad, another three and a half star rating. The hot and sour soup wasn't good. It had zero flavor except the heat. I took two sips and threw it away. The egg roll had a good flavor, three stars except it had a few huge chunks of vegetables. The lo mein fates maybe four stars. We ordered in the food here is pretty good. The only bad thing is whenever they tell you a pick up time it's always wrong and you always need to add about 10 more minutes that pick up time. So if they say 15 minutes then you need to do 25 minutes. I remember the food is great. Coming from So-Cal, I was shocked to find this was the only Chinese restaurant in the area that hasn't committed to drowning everything in a miasma of oil and salt. So I am undoing my previous review on this place. The first time was really good so I wrote a review for that. Yesterday my husband went to get me chicken and rice. He came home and for my food they only gave me rice. I called and she said she would replace my meal the next day. So today we call back and order the same thing (including having to buy the rest of the families food again bc I couldn't get take out just for myself). He gets it home and they only gave me chicken today. No rice. I threw out my rice from the day before bc I wasn't going to eat JUST RICE and she said she would replace it. Well, here I am today with just chicken, which I'm not going to eat by itself bc it's chicken soaked in sauce. I can't eat that with no rice. So I call and she says to come back and get the rice. I told her we weren't going to drive across town to come back at 9pm. She said "come back tomorrow and I'll give you rice" ‍ So I tell her I'm not eating the chicken by itself tonight and I don't think I should have to eat reheated chicken (after them getting it wrong the past two nights) and I'd rather just bring the chicken back tomorrow and have the whole thing replaced and get what I actually ordered. Lady then tells me she "already gave me a free meal" Like huh?!? I paid for it and got half one day and half the next and was never told to keep the rice the first day to reheat it. I told her I paid for chicken and rice and I want chicken and rice together....she said "well you didn't pay for rice the rice is free it comes with the chicken" Homegirl....that's not free. It's a combo. That doesn't make the side free. I am so baffled she said I couldn't just bring the chicken back the next day and get what I paid for. I have ordered from here for a couple of years I stopped about a year ago because old management allowed the place to fall apart and product to become gross and unsanitary now I order once a week and I love the food and the service I receive now(under their new management)! They know me by name and they know my order and how I like it and for a little place like chef King that is super important to me and to the people I bring to the restaurant, I always get the honey chicken or the coconut shrimp both are fantastic, the prices are great and they work with you with orders! If I could give this place a 0 star rating then I would. I ordered through DoorDash and after 2 hours of my delivery driver sitting there waiting I called and the woman who answered was rude and hung up on me. So I decided to go up there to see what the problem was and they told me that they never made it and that they were not going to be working with DoorDash. They canceled everybody's order.
