This restaurant is AMAZING. This time around, I got the biang biang noodles, salt and pepper tofu, and green beans. Everything was so delicious! I've also had the steamed veggie dumplings which I highly recommend as well. I also tried out the chocolate bao for dessert since I've been eyeing it on the menu and it was the perfect treat for my sweet tooth.

Great food and service. The atmosphere is pretty good. I went on a Friday night and there was no wait. We ordered the stir fried green beans, chicken fried rice, colorful dumplings, and soup dumplings. The green beans were perfect, both in taste and texture. The fried rice was quite good, a little heavy on soy sauce, but still very delicious. The soup dumplings were very good, filled with 5-spiced soup and delicious pork. The colorful dumplings were very interesting. I am happy that I ordered and tried them, but I feel that their more normal dumplings may be better. I will certainly be returning.

Overall a decent place to go to in the area but not my favorite Asian cuisine spot. My favorite item was the general tso chicken but the only downside is that the pieces of chicken are HUGE. If possible I would request them to by cut into smaller pieces so that it is easier to eat but the flavor was definitely there. I also like that they offer a dumpling sample option on their menu so that I could try a bit of everything before ordering a larger portion. I'd come back if I was in the area but wouldn't make a 30min drive out for it.

We've been here a couple times and it's been good majority of the times. We always get their string beans (m11) and I would say the first few times getting it, it's great. Lots of flavor, string beans were cooked really well, and overall, really tasty vegetable dish. However, the reason for 4 stars is cause of the consistency of the dish. The most recent time we ordered it, it had less flavor and less of the seasoning. The string beans weren't as soft either, which was disappointing. :/ Beef stir fry was very flavorful, on the other hand, and it wasn't spicy. It had a bit of that "ma-la" (numbing and spicy) flavor, but it was tolerable. Overall, I do recommend this place! Servers are great and attentive. I just hope the next time we come, the string beans are back to it's original way. We order it every time we come and it would be a shame if we had to choose another vegetable dish to try out.

Dropped in for a quick lunch. Had the garlic green beans and a large bowl of hot and sour soup. Both were delicious and quickly delivered to my table. Delightful staff. Always friendly. The restaurant is located inside of the shopping center. It does not face Kuster as the Google Maps indicate. Drive around and you'll quickly find it. Lots of seating available. The restaurant is clean and well maintained.

Update! So went back and had the "Bang Bang" noodles with chicken and OMG! It was truly amazing. You have somewhat recovered but I still won't do the Generals Chicken or sesame chicken again. My partner and I were just there and the sesame chicken lunch special portion was like 5 pieces of chicken.

Ready to use a Door Dash gift card,I spun the Yelp Wheel and it landed on Chef Suns Plano Tex location. Piling on copious items from the delectable sounding menu,I couldn't wait for my delivery. I was advised of a 30 minute wait time and to my amazement,I was handed my Chefs Suns Noodle and Dumpling order Right on time. Noodles, dumplings, schezuan beef, all arrived piping hot and orderly. I was super happy with the way the food was packed. I didn't eat right away so the sack sat on the counter about an hour. To my amazement, opening the sack and removing the items, all were still warm. From the sauteed string beans to the desert balls, all the food was excellent. I just discovered there's a location closer to me which I'll gladly try next time and you too should... Go!

One of the better spots for delicious food around DFW! I can't wait to be back. Came here on a Friday night and ordered the Biang Biang noodles with beef, the Rainbow Dumplings, and the Shrimp Dry Pot. The dumplings! EVERY. SINGLE. DUMPLING. was spot on. The noodles had a great chef and had a great balance of flavor. The dry pot wasn't my favorite, but also not bad. Our server offered these delicious pumpkin shaped desserts. I couldn't get over how cute they looked. Honestly can't wait to be back and try more of their dishes.

I was really excited to try Chef Sun's Dumplings since it's a halal restaurant because my parents eat halal, so we were looking forward to it. Unfortunately, it was a pretty disappointing experience. The service was rude and it honestly felt like they were too tired to serve us. We got the dan dan noodles which had no flavor at all, just cold noodles and beef on the side. The beef soup was bland, and the dumplings were just okay, nothing special. The Chinese beef burritos barely had any beef in them and the taste was meh. The only thing we actually liked was the Singapore noodle, which had a decent flavor. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place, especially with how many better halal spots there are around.

I could not find one item from their extensive menu that I didn't enjoy. The chicken soup dumplings were great. The wontons in red oil were fabulous. The noodle dish where the server gives you a scissors to trim your noodles also great. Every noodle every piece of dim sum was cooked perfect. The menu explained every dish and our server was there to help if questioned.

Delicious Chinese restaurant that is halal! The food here is delicious! My second time here in the same week! So far, I think every dish I've ordered were delicious. Highly recommend the soup dumplings, 3 flavor pepper chicken (soooooo crispy!!), biang biang noodles with beef, & Stir fried green beans. I think it's an amazing place to eat and I can bring some of my Muslim friends here so I'm excited to bring them here!!!

FOOD Colorful Dumplings: All were so delicious. The colorful dumplings come with multiple fillings, including vegetable, chicken, beef, shrimp, and pork. All of them were moist inside and cooked perfectly! Biangbiang Noodles: these are must try dish at this location. The biangbiang noodles are literally my favorite dish here. It taste so amazing with the vinegar. The noodles are the perfect bouncy texture and it has the pan-fried flavor. Xinjiang styled Beef Noodles: also delicious with the veggies which were crunchy. The beef was cooked to be tender and yummy!! VIBES This restaurant definitely gives traditional family restaurant vibes. They have wooden booth seating as well as table seating. The tables are large, which are perfect for family style. Lighting was on the dimmer side, but there is also a good amount of window lighting. SERVICE Service is great! All the food came out quickly! They also checked in to see if the food tasted good. No complaints about service.

I think overall the food here is good, i didn't realize they were halal, so was sad I couldn't get my shrimp, pork and chive dumplings that I was craving. The walnut shrimp was really crispy and well executed. The shrimps were huge too. The dumpling skins had a really nice texture. Service was decent, I just wasnt used to being server by non chinese in a chinese restaurant.

We were greeted right away and the restaurant is welcoming with an assortment of booths and some large round tables. The server was friendly and she provided great service throughout our meal. We started with the steamed dumplings which were honestly middle of the road and we the weakest part of our meal. The entrees were uniformly outstanding. We had the Beef Chow Fun which tasted great and was less oily than versions we have had elsewhere. We also had the combination crispy noodles which were well prepared with tender beef and some great shrimp. We capped it off with the General Tso which was delicious. Yes, completely inauthentic but so tasty!! This restaurant is absolutely one of the best Chinese spots in the DFW area. Highly Reccommended!

But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. Super nice!

We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 7 p.m., and surprisingly, we were the only customers there, considering it was peak dinner time. We also discovered that we needed to pre-order the duck in advance. Luckily, the lady informed us that there was one available for us, but it would take about 30 minutes. We ordered the crispy cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and the dry-fried string beans. The dry-fried string beans were my favorite. The string beans had a delightful crisp texture and a flavorful taste. The cucumber salad was also good, but some parts were a bit soggy. The XLB skin was too thick and chewy, and it didn't taste like the usual soup dumplings, which was disappointing. I was excited for the duck, but I was honestly disappointed when it arrived. The portions were quite small, considering it was a whole duck. It wasn't carved tableside, which was a letdown. Some parts of the duck were dry, and the skin wasn't crispy enough. To add to the disappointment, they charge extra for almost everything. If you want more pancakes or their homemade duck sauce (which tasted like black bean sauce), you'll have to pay an additional $5. Another thing to note is that they are BYOB, so you can bring your own alcohol. However, the menu pictures on Yelp are outdated, and they only offer whole Peking duck, not half orders. Overall, the food was just okay, and I'll probably try a different spot when I'm in the mood for duck again.
