This place just feels like comfort the second you walk in. I ordered breakfast and it came with biscuits and gravy -- and wow. The biscuit was so soft it practically melted in my mouth, and the gravy was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. It tasted homemade in the best way. The open-faced turkey sandwich was pure comfort food. Thick slices of turkey smothered in gravy, sitting next to a huge scoop of fluffy mashed potatoes with cranberry on the side. It was hearty, filling, and exactly what you want when you're craving something warm and satisfying. Our server was so friendly and attentive. She kept checking on us and every other table, making sure drinks were refilled and that everyone had what they needed. You can tell the service here really matters. Big portions, cozy diner vibes, and genuinely good comfort food. We'll definitely be back.

If ya like diners and want some good old home cooking and hospitality then Chef's restaurant is the place for you! Running on second generation they carry the torch of providing great nostalgic coffee shop/diner food like no others in the area at great prices, generous portions with super friendly service. Excellent large breakfast menu plus lunch and dinner with lots of daily and seasonal specials. Go down memory lane with this nostalgic wonder charming establishment. Save the diners and coffee shops of the world!. Don't forget to get a slice of one of their homemade pies!

I lived in Arcadia for 30 plus years and I've always driven by Chef's tell myself that I need to try so today was the day that we came to this charming old school diner. There was a coupon in the Arcadia Quarterly so we decided to give it a try. I ordered the Hobo Omelette with bell peppers and my boyfriend got their Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. Each plate came with Biscuit and gravy. There was so much crazy. I thought it was soup at first. The food was lightly salted, which is perfect because then we can control how much salt we put in the food. Everything was really good and their service was awesome. They kept the coffee and the tea is coming. If you're looking for an old diner field with good food, give Chef's a try.

First time visiting shift, coffee shop. Went for breakfast before soccer practice and had great service. Staff was friendly gave us a lot of information about the various special. We wanted to try all the basics. So we ordered two budget friendly specials, number one and number two. The portion size for a budget meal was good. We enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back. I love the feeling of seeing retirees enjoying the café/coffee shop dining experience. It was good to see them all laughing and chatting with their friends and family.Food came out faster than I expected. I appreciated the various creamer flavors they had. I have not seen Irish cream and caramel macchiato creamers in a very long time. We will definitely be coming back again to try their lunch menu.

One of my favorite comfort meals on a cold and rainy day is steak and eggs. And one of the best place to fulfill this craving is always Chef's. The steak is juicy and tender paired with O'Briens, eggs, and toast is definitely the chef's kiss. Portions are huge and prices are affordable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back!

The food was pretty ok, I really liked the French toast but probably won't get the omelette again. The service was alright also, a lot of younger people, they didn't come to refill our coffee or water at all and it wasn't busy but oh well. But over all it was an ok experience, I think it gets a little busier on the weekends as well

#HuevosRANCHEROS is absolutely the best you can get in #SanGabrialVALLEY!!!! An Arcadia institution, Chef's Coffee Shop is one of my secret locations for Saturday Morning Breakfast!!! You really can not go wrong ordering anything from the menu!!! You can even have #PIE if you have the room!!!

    Is parking ok?

Yes, there is usually plenty of parking. It is located behind the restaurant.

Even though the place was buzzing with energy and clearly a local favorite, the team handled the weekend crowd seamlessly. The staff was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and fast, making the entire experience feel smooth from start to finish. Since there were five of us, we ordered a variety of dishes to share family-style, which turned out to be the best decision. The absolute star of the table was the pancakes--they are truly outstanding! They nailed both the texture and the flavor: golden on the outside, insanely fluffy on the inside, and rich without feeling overly heavy. The waffles were equally delicious, holding a fantastic crisp on the edges while remaining light in the center. To top it all off, the drink selection was top-tier. Whether you get their specialty coffees or refreshing iced beverages, or even hot tea. Every drink was crafted with care and tasted wonderful alongside the sweet and savory brunch items. It's rare to find a busy weekend brunch spot where both the food and the service shine this brightly. We will definitely be back!

We sat at a table by the front window facing the main drag. The area definitely has an old town feel with many restaurants and shops up and down the street. There is also a park right across the street. There is plenty of parking around the corner on the street and in a nearby lot. I started out with the Coughlin's Law cocktail (Aviation gin, house infused vanilla syrup, fresh lemon, egg white, lavender bitters, $16). It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. They have a very good sized cocktail and food menu, as well as many beers on tap. They also have happy hour specials. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

I ordered crisp pork belly tacos which was quite interesting. I never had crispy/crunchy meat in a taco before which was different haha. The flavor was good although the meat was quite chewy and hard. The chips and dips were good and the veggies and sauce on the tacos were great as well! I believe if I have chosen another protein, I would have enjoyed the tacos more. My friend ordered a salad and she really enjoyed her meal. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area :)
