We have been coming here for a couple years and the food is always delicious! Best time to come is before dinner time if you don't want to wait. If you come later in the evening you will likely have to wait but we never mind because we get seated pretty quick. You order your food on a tablet or by scanning the QR code on your table. Service is always quick and they are attentive to make sure your empty dishes are cleared as soon as you are finished with a dish (which helps to keep your table not too crowded). My favorite hot pot spot in Seattle. Opens pretty late (til midnight) it's always packed and there's always a wait. Free parking but you have to get the parking pass for your car and park in the designated spaces available. The server accidentally knocked over food that was in my hand and splashed it all over me and my clothes so be careful when you wear something nice to go here. They provide you an apron to protect you from splashed from the hot pot. The food is great and the meat is really good. The broth options are very good and we love the sauce bar and the snack bar that's available. There's a huge wide variety of options to make the perfect sauce to fit your taste buds. Restaurant has very limited parking spots (around 12), but you can find street parking in the area or just pay yourself at the parking lot attached. Recommend to call in to get yourself on the waiting list when you are on the way. You can also add to the waiting list when you arrive but wait is very long. They do provide free snacks(kettle corn, candy and etc) while you wait. And it's one of the only places that offer free hair tie/ cloth spray and etc. Food is average just like the other hot pots in the area. Nothing stand out particularly. I think I found my new favorite hot pot place! The food and presentation were overall very good. What really won me over was the free refillable tea and milk tea. The workers were generally very attentive and offered me refills without me even asking. The experience was definitely on the higher end as they provided aprons and jacket covers once seated. It was quite busy during dinner time so we had to wait a bit to get seated. Made a reservation for our party of 7 for a Friday early afternoon around 2:30pm and really didn't need it since the restaurant was mostly empty (though I hear it gets packed, they will not reserve for parties less than 6 though). Nice to have designated free parking in the lot just next to the restaurant, just check in and the host will give you a parking pass to put on your dash. Server was attentive and ordering was all on ipad which was convenient. The seating was a little awkward since there was a divider between our tables and this cannot be adjusted. Chengdu memory was an interesting hot pot experience. I got their beef and tomato soup, both were good but my favorite has to be the tomato. I found the meat to be too fatty for my liking. When dipped in the broth, the meat shriveled up into a lump of fat, which was not that appetizing ( well unless you like your meat that way..) The overall atmosphere is nice, while there are some redeeming qualities, like the flavor of the broth, the sauce bar, cute small freebies, but Chengdu didn't really wow me, I don't have any desire to come back. read more

Love this place for hotpot!! Such an amazing sauce bar with tons of snacks and appetizers to eat. The marinated cucumbers and lemon grass chicken feet at the sauce bar are my favorites. I like to always start off with the ring of meat (half beef, half lamb). The hongkong milk tea and lemon tea are both really good drinks to order here. It's unlimited refills and the staff is always very attentive to getting you that refill. Beware that the Szechuan can get really spicy. I personally can only go up to mild for it because medium was definitely not enjoyable spicy. I am not from Seattle but when I visit, CHENGDU MEMORY IS A MUST! This place is giving Hai di lao but way cheaper and same quality. The broth for the soup bases are amazing no matter what you get, and their veggie selection is also solid. The meat comes in a wooden circular platter that wraps around, and is so so fresh and delicious. They have an amazing sauce selection as well that has pretty much everything you would need in your hot pot sauce! The service here is not quite as attentive as HDL but I really don't mind it as it feels a lot more casual. They give out free sprays to get rid of that smell, along with little trinkets like mints. Best hotpot in Seattle! The tomato soup is SO GOOD that you'll forget about the spicy broth (even tho this is a sichuan hotpot place ). I always get the meat ring and the fish fillet is so fresh and soft it melts in your mouth! The brown sugar rice cake is crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside, it goes great as a sweet dessert with the hotpot. The servers are the nicest I've had, and they are extremely attentive. When we ordered refillable drinks, they would come and refill it for you even when you are only half way done with it and would offer to refill it for you again when you leave. Chengdu Memory might be my favorite hotpot place in all of Seattle! Located conveniently in the Chinatown international district, chemgdu memory boasts authentic and traditional Chinese hotpot. With top-tier service, amenities like mouthwash in the bathrooms, glasses lens wipes, and hair ties, and delicious menu items at a fraction of what Haidilao costs, Chengdu Memory wins in both quality and quantity. I came to try their new panda dessert, which was so cute. It was pandan jelly in coconut milk with tapioca balls. Super refreshing and not too sweet; perfect for an after hotpot meal. Of course, we also had to get hotpot, which we decided to try the standard pork bone broth (which comes with tomato, dried red dates, mushrooms, and cucumbers inside). Since there were only two of us, we only ordered a few dishes: the highly Instagrammable meat platter (half beef and half lamb), the tripe combo, and the salted egg yolk shrimp balls. This is the only hotpot place where I've seen the salted egg shrimp balls, and I don't usually see it at the Asian supermarkets either. It's delicious! Perfect amount of sweet and savory. We had more than enough food and took home enough leftovers to feed both of us for dinner. The quality of everything was high. The best part was the sauce bar, which not only included sauces, but also appetizers like deep fried sesame balls, popcorn chicken, pickled cucumber, seaweed salad, pickled chicken feet, green bean soup, white fungus soup, and eight treasures porridge. You don't even need to order dessert because these porridges and soups are the dessert! Extremely refreshing and a nice cold snack while having hot hotpot. They also have parking available, but it is also very close to the light rail and many bus routes. The space is very clean and beautifully decorated. From the snacks and free hair ties while you wait, to the seat covers to protect your jacket from hot pot smell, to the array of lipsticks and mouthwash in the bathroom - its an experience for sure. Similar to a spot in San Mateo, CA (Luiyishou) this place serves meat in a ring that sits around your pot so its a great aesthetic. The meat ring is probably ideal for serving 4 people; we had 3 so we had some leftovers. We had an absolute blast at Chengdu memory! The food, ambience, and service were absolutely perfect. We (two adults) ordered way too much food, but we really enjoyed ourselves. They were on it with refilling the broth, so we were never worried about running out. And they refill with boiling temp liquid, so it took no time to get back go boiling. We suspect the oil on top was too much, even with a mild broth. And we have a high spicy tolerance! I really loved how they also provided aprons on each chair so that you can make sure the hot pot doesn't get on your clothes. But either way, the smell will sink into your fabric. But it's ok! After reading so many good reviews, I'm disappointed to have had only an okay experience here. We had a reservation for a large group, and were not really given any instructions other than to order via our phones/the QR code on the table. We ordered our food and broth and the food came out quickly but the broth did not, so we had meat just sitting out for quite awhile while we waited. Eventually the waitress came over and told us we should have ordered our broth first because it takes 15-20 min to prep. When the broth finally did come out, we were able to cook our food fairly quickly (which was good, since we were told there was a reservation after us and we needed to leave by a certain time). The presentation of the food was beautiful, but I don't know if the quality of the food was significantly better than other hot pot places I've been to, or if it was worth the chaotic feel inside the restaurant. I recognize that it was super busy in the restaurant, but because of the placement of the sauce bar, it felt even more crowded. I'm not sure if I'd choose to return here, but if I do, I'll try a week night in hopes it's less busy. read more

This spot is by far my favorite hot pot restaurant. The quality of the ingredients are fantastic and delicious. You can pick whatever ingredients you want to go in and of course you can cook it yourself. My group got the tomato base and the bone broth I believe. Both are delicious. I had a group of 6 and the staff were able to accompany us. I did think the seating arrangement was a bit odd but it worked out. I recommend getting the lemon tea or the hong Kong tea. I really liked how they taste and it comes with 1 refill. It's on the sweeter side but it's nice to counter act the salty broths from the hot pot. Their dipping sauce bar is great too. The selection is large and it lets you be creative. I also really like how this place gives free hair ties and phone covers and clothing spray. There's also dispensable mouth wash in the bathroom too. They're super considerate with these extra stuff.
