First time coming here with my friends after reading the reviews. The interior was quite interesting and the staff was able to seat us quickly, despite not having a reservation. We ordered the beef hotpot base and original. At first we marked "Spicy" for the level of spice but the waiter warned us that it was very spicy. Having eaten Sichuan hotpot before, we thought we could handle the spiciness, but just to be safe we ended up ordering the "Mild" level. However, it was still so spicy!!!! In fact, my friends and I had quite an upset stomach afterwards. The food was fresh and we were pretty full. Although, the charge for their sauce bar is ridiculous! That was almost $10 for the unlimited sauce bar, plus whatever they had for a snack/appetizer like chicken feet and spicy tripe. Don't think I will come back. read more

It was good! We got the split mushroom and spicy hot pot with beef and pork belly and it was good! Medium spicy was more like hot but that was ok with us, just a warning. The mushroom broth was weak at first but really developed into something delicious and mushroom-y (it tasted like the essence of mushroom). The selection is the best around - all the Szechuan classics that are hard to find in most hot pot places around Seattle (pork blood, tripe, tongue, intestine, esophagus etc). A ton of veggie meat tofu and fish options. Stock was great - medium spicy was perfect. Portions were good. We over ordered and were stuffed at around $40 per person for 2. My group was seated all the way inside the restaurant. Everything looked good until the servers seated new customers next to me with a long hair Pomeranian dog. I have never seen any restaurant allow pets inside. This is completely against the health department regulations. I felt very uncomfortable but I had to keep eating since it is a hot pot restaurant, I have already put everything in the pot, and it looks like the restaurant was packed and there was no other space. I sat next to the lady with her dog less than a foot, it was very close and I had an allergy all the time while I was eating there (runny nose and sneezing all the time). The staff didn't even care about the health and safety guidelines and even came to talk with the lady and asked for the dog's name. I am very concerned about food-borne illness and cleanliness which this restaurant has failed to comply with the regulations. The dog owner even let her dog sit on her lap (which was on the same level as the food) and it kept jumping and moving all the time and it tried to jump to my table to eat my food. Luckily it was stopped by the owner. The worst experience I've ever had. I can't believe we have paid for more than $250 to eat with a dog in less than a foot. Update: After getting a response(or an excuse) from the restaurant saying that "it was a service dog." I would say this IT OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT A SERVICE DOG. First of all, it wasn't a well-trained dog at all and tried to move around all the time!! The owner tried to make it sit on her lap all the time!!!! According to WA state law, the service animal is there to provide a service; it is working. Therefore it should not be wandering around, socializing, eating at the table, or being fed. If this type of behavior occurs, the business can ask that it stop, and if the behavior continues, the business can ask that the animal leave. Service animals are highly trained, and the majority of service animal handlers will be very conscientious about their animal's behavior, and would not allow it to engage in inappropriate or disruptive behavior. Secondly, she is not disabled and that dog did not help her with anything at all. For example, hearing, reaching for stuff, or even walking. She could talk, read the menu, walk and eat like normal. According to WA state law, emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs ARE NOT service animals under Washington State Law. Do your research and just simply apologize, it's easy and will make your business look better. read more

The spicy was incredibly good, super meaty and flavorful and just the right amount of saltiness that you don't really need sauce. But the sauce bar is still there, and it's excellent, I also got the tofu platter, veg platter, and the basic sliced beef. All was good and actually very well priced too. Came here on a Sunday afternoon during their soft opening. We were provided with aprons. Got half chengdu spice (spiciest level) and half sour cabbage hot pot base. Their meat combo with beef and lamb was amazing. Veggies and tofu were standard. Buffet-style selection of dipping sauce ingredients (~$2 per person) which included sesame balls, chips, and soup. This place was great! The protein and vegetable options were extremely fresh, the broth options were rich and delicious, and the sauce bar had everything I needed to create the perfect hotpot sauce. Expect to spend at minimum $40-50/person on hotpot. I recommend buying the meat/vegetable combos and some smaller side options such as the cumin marinated lamb! my friends and I was here on sat night around 10:15pm. we ordered and took it them so long to bring all vegetables out. we had to remind waitress about it. Then, at 11:07pm and they bring bill out with mistake so we confirmed back with him (waiter) that we just got 2 sauce bar. His behalf is very irrated and kinda rude to us. Then he go fix it with an attitude and on the bill later, they add us 20% fee in chinese language (not service fee in english) . we feel that is not right and transparency. so we let him know why they add 20% and he said because we have to pay for service after 12pm but we told him at that time was 11:20pm and we totally finished meal before 12pm. How could he add it before asking customers and just do with his assumption? after all, the lady manager came out and said they took it off but she mention the reason why they charged us 20% is different. she said because we do last call at 11:30pm but we already paid @11:20 pm and stop order before 11:30pm. so why they do it? it is not transparency and behavior is off the point. read more
