A solid option for KBBQ that's in Seattle proper and affordable is a rare find. This place runs well, has good meats, and good service. The "upper tier" of AYCE isn't too bad at $46, and in the 120 minute time limit you can really enjoy a wide selection of high quality meats. My favorites were the wagyu toro, rib finger meat, wagyu short rib, sliced lamb shoulder, beef belly, and the tiger prawns. I always get lots of kimchi and sliced radish to eat it with for varied texture/flavor. Sides are not as good as a standard Korean restaurant, but the standard items are there. Meat comes out quickly once you order, and the pace at which you are allowed to order is plenty, or at least it was for a party of 2. They come by to switch out the grill frequently, so even though there aren't vents right over the grill, it doesn't tend to get too smoky. This is definitely a grill it yourself place, so just be aware that this is not one of those kbbq places where staff tends to the grill. It's a solid choice for all you can eat kbbq in Seattle. We love coming back because Groupon always has a deal, the price comes with the hot bar which has chicken wings, noodles, taro ball, and fried spring rolls, and they have a soft serve machine. I don't know what they do with the fried chicken wings at the hot bar but they are always so juicy and I love dipping it with the house chili sauce that is also at the hot bar. The cheapest option comes with kalbi on the menu which is great. They recently added more options on the menu such as kimchi soup and steamed egg which is great, but the soup was pretty salty. You also grab corn cheese, lettuce, mushrooms, bell pepper, zucchini, and onion from the bar to grill if you wish. If you love beer, they also have $1 refills. I only come here on the weekends and it gets pretty packed. They're also pretty understaffed so service can be slow. The waiting area has tea and snacks and they're often out of snacks. You order from a tablet once seated and sometimes I need to order the same thing multiple times before it gets to our table. The hot bar also runs out of things often when it's busy. The quality of the meat is average, nothing exceptional, but I've only ever gotten the cheapest option (option A). Aight so we were originally trying to get into happy lamb for a late xmas dinner, but the line was wayyyyyy too long so we "settled" for bellwether. But sheeeeeeit I'm glad we did! I've always seen/heard about this place but never had the opportunity to try it out. There are two different options for AYCE: "regular" vs "premium" (think wagyu options). We opted for the regular option A + AYCE beers, which were $8.99 for the first one and then $1.00 for each additional glass (fam I had 7!). Total per person after a 20% tip was around $55-70 depending on how much ya drank hahaha. Service was great! All the employees were super busy especially since it was a holiday... but they were all super kind and efficient. The quality of the meats was ok. Not the best, but also I've had worse elsewhere (but again, perhaps the premium option had better cuts, too). I believe we were limited to ordering 5 items with a 10minute lockout in between orders. I do love Korean BBQ and this place was just fine. The service was probably the best part! Our server was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Overall the food was good. Having to include the Banchan as part of your limited number of items each ten minutes was silly. Definitely the beef fingers, or whatever they were called, were the best meat we had! We tried a number of different meats and all were good. The dishes they bring the meats in are a bit excessive. You get a small round bowl of meat with a huge, fancy lip that takes up four times the real estate on the table than needed. And if you are an experienced KBBQ person, you know table space is at a premium! Don't forget to grab your cook-it-yourself corn cheese at the sides bar. The soft serve ice cream left a little bit to be desired, it was kind of slushy/icey and not creamy like soft serve should be. I was disappointed that the grill was just the normal grill not the grate with the square holes. Perhaps that comes with the higher tier meats. With any bbq place I like the beef belly, brisket and a little kalbi. The kalbi was real chewy and thick. I liked that there were toppings such as garlic, jalapeños and additional foods like fried chicken and noodles available for self serve. Also, soft serve ice cream for dessert you still have room. The server who helped us was really nice. She would come by often to check up on us and change out our grill. We ordered all of our meats on an iPad and items came out quickly. The banchans were alright. They lacked rice paper and more options overall. Drinks were really affordably priced. $8.99 for a Sapporo then $1 for each refill! If you want soda, that appears to be self serve and included. However I didn't have any. read more

It may be a bit too salty for others though. I tried their rice cakes, which I did not like. The sauce on it did not go well with it, and I feel like the rice cake could've been cooked more. I really enjoyed their corn cheese and I'd recommend that to anyone. The beef brisket was okay to me. The service was okay. For the food to come out, it took quite a bit of time, so it was frustrating here and there. There's no waiter since there's an order kiosk on each table which I actually like because you don't have to wave down someone to order things. The ambiance is a typical AYCE KBBQ restaurant. The smell of grilled meat the minute you walk into Bellwether makes your mouth water. The location is quite large so there's usually a table available as long as you have a party of 6 or less. Bellwether also has a yelp waitlist which you can join remotely so you don't have to wait too long at the restaurant. I really like that it's AYCE for $40 and they have some of my favorite cuts of meat like the marinated galbi, beef belly, and the rib finger. On top of that their food bar has some fun kbbq staples like corn cheese that you can put on your grill. Sometimes the staff is busy so it takes a while to place your order. Also, kitchen can be a little slow when bringing out food which is annoying since there is a 2 hour limit for dining AYCE. Overall the quality is pretty good and I always feel leaving happy. read more

We'd really like the Chinatown/ID area to thrive so happy to have a good reason to support businesses down there. My better half was in the mood for KBBQ so we gave Bellwether a try. It was fun - always a pleasure to grill right at table side. Service was very attentive and we felt very well taken care of. We had the pork, beef, octopus and spicy pork belly. All good. A nice cold beer is a great accompaniment and arrived quickly. Bonus - there's a soft serve ice cream machine and it's part of the deal. It's a high energy room and the Kpop was in full effect so if you love that genre you're going to love the soundtrack of the room. We've been coming here since their soft opening (2023) and they've been amazing ever since. The staff is so kind, and they've done multiple upgrades to the experience (such as adding the iPads to order more meat instead of having to ask the server, side bar options, grill upgrades, etc.) We've came here for solo dates, with groups of friends, birthdays, graduation celebrations with family, etc. Easiest the best AYCE KBBQ spot we've been to and every time we bring somebody here they end up saying the same. Created a reservation to celebrate my birthday and everything was very easy and accessible. They offer parking in the garage located in the building below. Staff sat us down very fast and were very kind. We ordered from the option b menu and it is so worth the price! There are so many great options with drinks and food. They have all you can eat soft serve and amazing wings! If you're trying to black out in 30 minutes order the MelonHead Martini. I ordered the drink thinking it would be like any other mixed drink but boy was I wrong. All five of us at the table tried it and could only take one drink and explain how strong it was. This was my 2nd time at Bellwether which totally exceeded expectations from my 1st time. I came here on Sunday afternoon where there wasn't very many people dining. The banchan was a great starter with the essentials; kimchi, pickled cucumber, pickled radish, mashed potato's, fish cakes, and japchae. My favorite was the pickled cucumber and mashed potato's. The kimchi was more on the spicier side but the quality of it was not as fresh. The dipping sauces came with some type of seasoning, brisket sauce, and some chili sauce. There was sesame oil available at the buffet bar that we had got to pair with our pork belly. The staff was attentive and quick to help with grill changes and meat refills. I had ordered marinated soy beef belly, rib finger, thick pork belly, (all pictured), marinated short ribs, thin sliced pork belly, ramen, and steamed egg. The quality of meat has definitely improved since I last visited from the grand opening. Each meat that came out included some presentation with a garnish or herb. To balance the richness of the meat, we ordered a bowl of their spicy ramen but it was a normal instant ramen topped with seaweed that you could make at home. Instant ramen sometimes hits the spot but it was a wrong choice for me as I was quite full from all the meat. The steamed egg was fluffy at first when it came out but over time it shrunk and became dry. I think it was lacking a bit more moisture and water to the steamed egg but the flavor was there. The buffet bar that's included was great. It had a variety of hot foods, veggies and additional sauces. We got two fountain drinks with endless refills and filled our cups with root beer. We then saw an ice cream machine which we paired with our drinks to make a root beer float. This was such a great addition as we love root bear floats, especially during kbbq! I would also like to acknowledge other reviews that compared this place with Seoul Meat Co. I would agree that Seoul Meat Co's dining experience and quality are a tad bit better, but Bellwether comes in a very close second for me as it is much closer to home and is a tad bit cheaper. If you're looking for a quality Korean BBQ experience that feels a little elevated but still authentic and fun, Bellwether is the place. I'll definitely be back! read more

Service was quick. The meats came out quickly. Staff was very friendly and attentive. They always checked to see if we needed our grill changed out, and the staff helped each other, so you didn't need to just wait for one specific waiter. Would come again.
