I'm not a huge fan of dosas, and this place makes pretty good ones. The Paper Masala Dosa is very big and can be filling by itself. I also had the Somosa Chat which I thought wasn't bad. Lots of seating available. Service was pretty bad though.

One of my favorite southern Indian and fully vegetarian spots. They have many vegan options as well. Everything I've tried is delicious and has tons of flavor. Service is quick and menu has tons of variety. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

Both the lentil flour donut and spinach masala dosa were delicious. Reasonable prices. Would definitely try some of the other dosas next time.

Came here for the dosas which were pretty good- lots of options to choose from. The samba it came with was delicious and they gave us extra to go. The vadai and the mango lassi were also great. They also gave us an extra vadai which was nice of them :) they have a decently sized seating area that is pretty casual.

Color me not impressed at all…read more I was in Hot Breads in Hicksville in mid-July to pick up two birthday cakes for my nephew's birthday party. In addition to being a bakery, Hot Breads also markets itself as an indo-Chinese cafe. Knowing we would be several hours early to a birthday party, we had some of the menu offerings. Samosa and samosa chaat were great, but then again it's kind of hard to mess those up. Everything else we ordered was entirely inedible due to the obscene amount of chili that went into the meal. My dining buddies seemed unbothered by the chili so it's good that not a lot of the food went to waste, but some notice of spice (or option to not have the spice) would have been nice. On to the cakes, we ordered two sugar-free cakes due to my brother in law being diabetic. The cakes were light and fluffy and sweet, and I had no idea they were actually sugar free. These cakes get Hot Bread an extra star. The cakes were personalized. I would assume (and, spoiler alert, I'm clearly wrong) that an Indian bakery owner and operated by Indian people would be able to spell an Indian name correctly. Especially when my nephew's name is only two letters long and therefore easy to spell. They spelled it wrong.

But the Red Dot seems to nail every single dish. We started with the multigrain vegan waffle with fresh fruit and loved it! So clean and flavorful, with perfectly ripe fruit. I do think the fruit should have been included, because it would have been a bit plain without it. Next, we had the ancient grains kitchari which was incredible. We loved all the fresh vegetables perfectly cooked, adding a variety of textures and flavors. It is offered as mild, medium, or hot; we got hot, which was great but not overly spicy, and we might request extra spicy next time. Lastly, we got the breakfast paratha wrap filled with their incredible tofu scramble. We were so impressed by how non-greasy it was (both the paratha and the scramble). We are always looking for food that isn't overly salty or oily, which is hard to find, but the Red Dot managed to do everything perfectly. Also major props to their masala chai, made super fresh with your choice of milk. The soy milk was creamy and pleasantly sweet and it didn't even require adding sugar. So rare to find vegan masala chai. The food takes fairly long to come out, but we felt it was worth it because of how delicious everything was; we also appreciated the generous portions.
