    Bed bug bites
    Emily B.

Super cute hotel and rooms and super friendly hosts. Plenty of supplies and even supplied extrA masks and hand sanitizer with the room. Unfortunately over the holiday weekend (the 4th) not a lot of support (that was expected) but also just returned from the trip with a ton of bug bed bites all over both legs and arms. Like a LOT. Disappointed would give a solid rating overall if not for that. :(

We had a fabulous stay in Coronado because of the Cherekee Lodge. The room was large and very clean. Plenty of sanitizer throughout the building. The place was quiet with lively serenity retreats throughout to enjoy the garden and flowers. Parking seemed like itvwould be hard but spots kept opening up as we walked the area. Three boocks from the beach, one block from Orange street. I had the most increfible Korean Skirt Steak at Henry's, recommended by our hostess. A 20 min walk to Hotel Del Coronado. We will stay hear again!!

Awesome bnb. Nice location, walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants, grocery store, and more.

This place is a cozy and comfortable Bed and Breakfast Inn featuring vintage comfort. I strongly recommend staying here. He price is reasonable, it is clean, close to orange street and major restaurants and attractions on the island. Furthermore, it's walking distance to the beach. The staff were friendly and they also offered a 9$ off coupon to panera for breakfast. I would come back here in future and stay here.

What a beautiful place to stay with an interesting history. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The in room continental breakfast such a great idea! We could eat breakfast at our leisure and they even packed cheese and granola bars for snacks. We'll be staying here again.

My family loves the Cherokee lodge. It is in beautiful downtown Coronado just one street off Orange ave. where all the action in Coronado is. Cherokee Lodge is easy walking distance from the beach, resturaunts and shops. The lodge is large and private. The furnishings and setting is antique and authentic. Staying here we feel like we have our own little home on Coronado thats been passed down from generations past. The staff here has always been more than friendly and helpful. Their check in proceedure is great and allows us to get in at anytime of the night convenient for us. I would Highly reccomend Cherokee Lodge to anyone looking for authentic homestyle Coronado boutique lodging. Thanks Cherokee Lodge. Justin Henderson, Nevada

    Our beautiful room #6.

The availability of several restaurants for different palates for different ages is a big plus. We tried Serea and it didn't fail. The service was excellent and the food was really good, fresh fish was super tasty, no fishy taste. We had gelato and it was soft and creamy, tasty! The availability of a smoothie trailer was a big plus? It was so healthy and the servings were huge. This hotel has many places to sit and enjoy the ocean view. The proximity to yhe beach was also a good good perk! All in all, a wonderful experience. We spent the whole weekend here, didn't leave the hotel as there was plenty to do. Great place to take the family for a nice, beach vacation!!! I couldn't give it a five star as there was some area that looked old to guess it's part of the charm of this hotel.

We were in San Diego for our summer vacation,…read morePride, and my 50th birthday, and decided to kick off the trip with two days and one night at the Hotel del Coronado, or "The Del." The Del opened in 1888 and is one of the most famous hotels in the country. You have even most likely seen it in TV and movies. It is definitely a luxury resort in every aspect, and I have heard it referred to as the birthplace of the American beach vacation. We arrived a little early on Tuesday and were able to check in and get settled. I had noted on the reservation that we were celebrating my 50th birthday and had booked a King room in The Views. The property has several different areas to stay, including the historic Victorian building. At check in, we were upgraded to a King ocean view room, which was an amazing surprise. Between my birthday and Hilton Honors Diamond status, I was incredibly grateful for the complimentary upgrade, especially at a historic property like this. I don't think that is too common as they are based on availability. The room was beautiful and I enjoyed the layout and amenities. We opened the patio door and let the fresh ocean breeze fill the room many times during the stay. We enjoyed sitting on the patio looking over the grounds, beach, and Pacific Ocean and it was especially nice in the evening and again early the next morning with coffee. The bed was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water, and I really can't say enough good the room. We spent our first day exploring the property and enjoying the resort. Unfortunately, there was an advisory recommending that people should not swim in the ocean because of elevated pollution levels, but we were still able to enjoy some really nice beach time. That evening we had dinner at Veranda, which I reviewed separately. I definitely recommend making reservations for any of the restaurants well in advance, especially during busy times. We also enjoyed the shops and bars around the property. The next morning we spent some time exploring the history of The Del. You can basically do your own self guided tour by walking around, reading the plaques, and looking at the historic photographs throughout the property. I loved learning more about the hotel while actually staying there. We were able to get a late checkout, so we spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon exploring Coronado. We walked along Orange Avenue, checked out some of the shops, walked through town and the park, and eventually made our way to the beach. From there we walked along the beach back to the resort. After checking out, we took the ferry from Coronado over to downtown San Diego, which ended up being a perfect way to leave the island and continue our vacation. The Del is expensive (especially with meals and drinks), I am not going to sugarcoat that, but for us it was worth every penny. It was an amazing way to kick off our vacation and one of the highlights of the trip. I would absolutely recommend staying here, especially if you want a resort experience where you can enjoy the property, beach, and Coronado rather than focusing entirely on downtown San Diego. I could easily see myself spending a week here and would definitely come back as there is so much to do. Hands down Five Stars for location, service, food, amenities, and property. Exceptional stay. Argument with staff about providing identification again to get our luggage and our room. We were patient until my wife started having a difficult time finding her ID and I finally said she just checked us in 30 minutes ago "you don't remember us"? Staff says I check in a lot of people I don't remember you. After a little bit more discussion, she says your luggage is right over there confirming she did remember us. A little bit more petty bickering from Marriott employees than I'm used to and reluctance and resistance to take accountability for not providing up to Marriott standard service she gives us our room. It's not the room that we paid for which was a Bay Harbor view not a pool view. We are too tired and in a little bit in a hurry now to get to our restaurant reservation for the night My wife turns on the bathwater and it's coming out brown I go to see staff again. They say that an engineer will come up. I'm thinking to myself how an engineer will fix this brown water coming out of the tap. I go back down and speak with management. They change our room. I will never come back here. On a sidenote, the engineer told my wife the brown color was disinfectant. Apparently our new room didn't have any disinfectant in the bathwater.

You pay for the location and that is about it. The main lobby was super cute. We were very excited to stay here. But it took a turn when we were shown our room. The smell was so bad you could smell it a few feet outside of our door. We would wake up in the middle of the night because the smell woke us up. It smelled like mildew & mold so bad, on top of cigarettes and hospice. I went to call to ask for a new room and our phone didn't work. I moved the side bedroom table to see if it was plugged in and it was so dirty with bugs and lint balls. I didn't touch the phone again. I called from my cell phone to see about changing our room. She told me I could come the next day and take a look at other rooms that were available, but we were only there for one more night and we had plans with friends that day. The carpet is disgusting. The couch is so dirty. There were brown stains on the sheets of our bed. Every time the cleaning crew would come in, they would open every single window to the fullest to mask the smell. There's not a restaurant here so you have to go get your food and bring it in. There were dead bugs in the utensil drawers. So we used plastic utensils, and paper plates our whole trip. Our room looked nothing like the lobby. A motel 8 would've been better. Even the pool is sad. We were going to cancel our stay and book somewhere else, but we booked through Expedia and it's a nightmare trying to get a refund through them. Otherwise, we would've left after the first day. When leaving a manager pulled me aside and said he was going to comp one day resort fee for us because of the smell. He didn't have to do that, but it was nice of him. We will never be back unless they do a serious update. So sad because the location is killer!
