Went in the rain last Thursday. The food was solid. Service was good. No major complants. My soup dumplings stuck and fell apart but still tasted very good. Sushi was fresh and tasty. A bit pricey but beautifully decorated and plated. Wish they did some kind of crunchy noodles at the table or fruit at the end but we enjoyed and will surely go back. read more

Very large restaurant, a former diner. Has a large variety on its menu. My apple martini was served in a nice large martini glass and was delicious. Food was good but did not come out hot. We ordered the dim sum sampler, Pad Thai, and Japanese eggplant with chicken. Overall, the food was very good. The only downside was that the chicken portion felt a bit small for the price. Based on food quality and service alone, I would rate this a solid 4. The reason for the overall 3-star rating is their alcohol policy. The restaurant is BYOB, which is fine, but they charge a $20 corkage fee. I have never encountered a restaurant without a liquor license that still charges a corkage fee. It felt unnecessary and came across as a money grab, especially for larger groups. This policy really detracts from an otherwise enjoyable experience and should be reconsidered. read more

This is the old Plainview Diner that I've been going to since it opened (yes I am that old). The space has been completely redone and is just beautiful. And the bathrooms ( yes, I'm a bathroom freak) is just gorgeous. First time I got food from this restaurant, it was takeout. Wonton soup, spicy Kani salad, scallion pancakes and Shrimp Pad Thai. All the food is amazing. Do not miss the scallion pancakes. I visited the restaurant again for dinner. I had wonton soup, scallion pancakes and wok grilled garlic shrimp. The food did not disappoint. The waiter was very nice but I think there was a little communication issue. But it was minor. They have a wonderful lunch menu. So reasonable and plenty of food. I had chicken with string beans and garlic sauce. Soup comes with the special. We had the scallion pancakes, again. To say I like the restaurant, is an understatement. Go. I think you'll enjoy it And if you remember the Plainview diner, the inside isn't the same but you'll be nostalgic. read more

Early New Years dinner with large family. Staff was extremely attentive and helpful. Enjoyed the nostalgic diner feel with nods to Asian culture. Great selection of cuisines, sushi fresh, Chilean sea bass delicious, deserts hit the spot. Four of us, but one person's entree came when everyone else had finished eating so took it to go. Made for an extremely uncomfortable meal watching him watch us eat. Also never got the salad supposed to come with hibachi entree, so took that to go, too. My soup was served same time as my entree. Then the app we ordered came after the entrees. We went on a Sunday night and it was crowded and very noisy. That wasn't the problem. Server acknowledged us and asked if we wanted to order any drinks .beverages were orderedand brought in a timely fashion. The restaurant started to empty out and there were just a few tables with people dining and things quieted down. We ordered hot and sour soup, veggie dumplings steamed, and chilean sea bass in black bean sauce and tofu with broccoli in ginger sauce. So we waited more than 20 minutes for the food to come out. When the soup and dumplings came out they were lukewarm and so was everything else. Everything was beautifully plated. The sea bass was really good and it had plenty of of fermented beans but had to be reheated and they didn't bring out the black rice that they took away to reheat.water glasses were not refilled unless we asked.dumplings could have been delicious if the filling had any taste. The dough was thin which I loved but the filling was so bland.the tofu and broccoli had a ginger sauce without any ginger taste. The tofu itself had an interior that was quite wet. Hard to find servers , bland food cold food, even the lovely decor can't compensate for the downside. Spoke to the manager who made the excuse they were busy. That doesnt cut it. The manager replied that offered to redo the dish which is true but I didn't feel like waiting another 1/2 hour for the food.. read more
