Ate dinner there tonight. I've been coming for years. They have recently changed their swamp poboy. They are using "filet" in place of the roast beef they once used. The filet is full of grizzle and tough connective tissue. It's no where near as good as it used to be. read more

Chesterfield's is now the go-to restaurant in the Hub City for great FRESH seafood. I grew up on the Gulf Coast and know fresh seafood. I know the owner personally he is from Pascagoula, MS. He gets ALL of his seafood from the coast and it is never frozen. I GREATLY encourage the Hawaiian Steak. It is a ribeye cooked in soy and spices and topped with two pineapples. FANTASTIC!! Also the shrimp and oysters are great. And finally you MUST try the Gambino Rolls for dessert. They are not on the menu but a staple for my family since the old days at the old location. The attitude of the staff is BAD! The attitude of the management is even WORSE!! I will never eat here again. My food came out wrong, when I asked for the manager she justified why it was wrong and NEVER apologized. It's not the food that makes me want to stay away. It's the deplorable condition of the parking lot. I got stuck in a giant pot hole and had to be towed out, costing me an hour of my time. The tow truck driver said that he has had to pull several cars from that same hole, and yet the management will not repair it. You can't see how deep and muddy it is when it is full of water. I find this wanton disregard for the customers safety to be quite telling. read more

I've been in the Hburg area a while and I've always heard that Chesterfield's used to be the place to go. I've been there several times. If you want food that is the same as some of the other chain casual dining restaurants (Chili's, O'Charleys, Applebee's, etc) but want to pay higher prices for it then Chesterfield's is the place for you! read more

It was good and didn't try to be something that it wasn't and I appreciated that. After a complicated day, I just needed something simple but good. I got that here. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly hostess. Not the generic hostess, but one that actually conversed. (Shoulder length brunette hair, small frame,and about 5'2). I ordered the Sautéed Shrimp Pasta that comes in a creole sauce.(Recommended by the bartender). My food came out in 5 minutes. (Timed by a phone call). It was good. Perfect amount of sauce and shrimp. I had enough to take some for lunch the next day. I sat at the bar and was informed of the happy hour specials of $4 wells, $4 house wines, and $2.75 (?) domestic beers. I opted on the house wine option. After my meal I asked the bartender, Mary Lois(?), if she could make a drink that I love and she looked at the ingredients and did so with no problem. It was perfect. Just like how I've had it before. I decided to splurge and go for the cheesecake with a strawberry purée. It was also amazing as well. The strawberry purée was a bit tart for my liking. I'm a new resident of the area and I think this may be one of my regular spots. Turned a rough day around for sure. read more

I had the pleasure of eating at the first and second Chesterfield's in Hattiesburg many years ago. Recently I dined at the new location in West Hattiesburg. I found a very different, but inviting menu. I had the gumbo and the Ahi tuna on chips appetizer. They were both excellent. Since I was celebrating the purchase of a house in Hattiesburg for my move back home I decided to try the fried apple pie. It's not what you think. It was a piece of regular apple pie that had been deep fried, with ice cream, whipped cream and caramel sauce drizzled on top. Everything was exceptional. One of my best experiences was Imani, my waitress. She was one of the best that I have ever had. She was friendly, outgoing and just pleasant to have around. Her attention made my visit extra special. I highly recommend this restaurant. Be sure to ask for Imani. read more

The best food ever!!! For one, the service is amazing! They have a very diverse menu with prices for every budget. We have had several dinner parties because of the wonderful private dining rooms. This was our first visit to Chesterfield's, and it was a wonderful experience. Three of us ordered the snapper (1 grilled, 2 blackened) and were all amazed at the portion. This was a huge piece of fish! Complete with 2 sides and we were all stuffed. Another also ordered the gumbo and was also pleased with her food. We finished off our meal with white chocolate chip bread pudding and was again pleased with portion (we all shared one order). Combine this with great martinis and it was an excellent evening. I just ordered curb side togo, when I received the food it was already COLD and the gumbo was $5.00 for a cup can! YES 4 .oz and when I asked the girl that fixed my order why was the bowl so small and the price so high? She replied Seafood is expensive Mam! REALLY? I had 3 tiny tiny shrimp and 3 sausage pieces in that bowl! RIP OFF Chesterfields is! NOT WORTH THE MONEY! GO to Crescent City, this is where I usually go for great food and service and you get your money worth.
