Over the last year Sherrie and I have gravitated from their burgers to their chowder...probably have had it about 20 times. We've even bought Ivar's Clam Chowder from Costco to compare them. Ivar's has more creaminess and less clam flavor, and though Ivar's from Costco is the low-cost leader, it doesn't compare with EZ's "Dock" brand. I finally interviewed EZ's about it. The recipe is the owner's. "Docks" is the owner's copyrighted brand. It is fully prepared from scratch on site and I believe it is only sold out of this location. The one who spoke Spanish served me in a very rude manner, rushing me and speaking in a harsh tone of voice. When I told him he was being very impatient, he tried to justify himself by saying they were very busy, but there were no cars behind me or in front of me. He was very rude to me, and while the price is good, it's not worth being treated badly when you're just looking for quick service. He asked me to park in front of the establishment and that he would bring the food out to me instead of giving it to me through the window. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has received this kind of unjustified treatment from this person, and I don't plan on ever going back there. It used to be one of my favorite places to get food since I work nearby, but I will never return because I don't intend to receive that kind of treatment again, and I know many others feel the same way. They shouldn't have people with that kind of temperament serving customers. I hope they don't overlook this.

It's not the flame per se, that creates that flavor, again in my opinion. I think the meat has a measure of sugar in it that is caramelized to give that almost barbecue taste. The flavor and the crunch is hard to find anywhere else, although Wendy's is a close 2nd. I don't think that "large" order of fries is worth $3.69, albeit the flavor is right on point -- hot, crispy, fresh, and perfectly salted. (You can get 10lbs of russets at Costco for $4.99) But why all the 1-star reviews? I think Americans sometimes just love finding things to complain about.
