We had a very nice dinner at Mai Lee Thai! Our group enjoyed salmon curry, drunken noodles, phad mee, and yellow curry. Everyone loved their dishes and the spice levels were accurate. The drunken noodles especially had a healthy amount of sauce which I appreciated. Very fresh veggies! The shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce were very fresh and a great size - they're cut into 4 which was perfect for our group! We had a Mai Thai, glass of Chardonnay, and a mango martini. All were delish! They were out of Thai Tea, or I would've ordered one of those. Shout out to our lovely server, Chloe, who took great care of us and was very sweet. She was attentive and made sure my Mai Thai had extra cherries and that my dish had extra tomatoes! An added perk could be soft, authentic Thai music playing in the background! read more

The good was good but I feel like the dinner rush made this experience a not so great one. Upon sitting it took almost 15 (maybe even longer) to get our orders in (reading timestamps, we sat at 6:17, & got our food at 6:53). Though we don't mind the wait time as much it was a little too long. When getting my phad Thai it was quite HOT and I am not talking about the spice (I got a level 4). A few friends and I ordered a few dishes! Ok maybe too many and the waitress was a funny and amazing help. Chloe is the best! The food was great as usual! Tom kha soup, spice level 3 was just right, the fried rice was banging, crispy garlic chicken was to die for, garlic lovers was soooo tasty, drunken noodles so much flavor, teriyaki chicken was delicious and too many sides of white rice we can eat for a week! My fiance and I had dinner here tonight, we got the crab rangoons, pad Thai, and he got a seafood dish. To start, he was served a visibly dirty glass with his beer- we just sat that to the side. The plates that came with the rangoons both had food debris stuck on them- we also sat those to the side. I asked for a medium spice level for my dish, there was zero spice, in fact it was just sweet. He asked for 5/5 level spice, and again there was none. On top of this, ingredients listed for the dish were not served, and the squid in his dish was so overcooked it was rubbery and inedible. The music playing overhead was some sad pop music playlist that just added to the disappointment of our visit. The one, single highlight was the margarita I ordered. That was probably one of the best I've had, so kudos to the bartender. read more

Having recently returned to Wenatchee after 13 years in Seattle, we were very happy to find Mai Lee Thai again, albeit in a new location. The banner over their door says it all, the "World's Best Asian Restaurant in 2021" (or at least Wenatchee's :-)". I ordered for Take Out, and Sherrie and I served up easily, two days worth of meals from three entrées: Pad Thai Chicken, Sweet'n'Sour Chicken, and Red Curry Chicken--all three of which came with steamed rice. (See the pics!) The flavor pairings were over-the-top delicious on all three entrées. You can choose your level of spiciness from 0 to 5. I think level-1 is just perfect because all the subtle flavors of coconut, lemongrass, and ginger blossom on your palate. As I remember, the business was started by the mother of the two girls, Mai and Lee. Now, several years later, it appears Mai is running the restaurant. Fifteen years ago, she catered a party at our home--it was a combination of seafood, chicken and spring rolls. Their menu has always been a broad selection of Southern Asian cuisine--not just Thai, but a fusion of several cultures. It's definitely worth the time to explore the whole menu before ordering. Ideally I wish I could give it a 3.5 star, but more of a 4 than 3. The service was nice and the mountain views inside are really pretty. Prices were reasonable, $16.95 for a large portion of chicken pad thai. We did order some appetizers and I had leftovers with the entree. I wish there were more chicken in the dish as it was pretty minimal, but the sauce was beautiful and delicious! The Crab Rangoon appetizer was really good! My main issue with the place, albeit small, is that they charged a $2 non-cash fee. I didn't see anywhere that there was such a fee with using a card vs cash. It's not like $2 is a big deal but lately I feel like places are trying to get away with hidden fees that just become a nuisance. Please make prices and fees obvious or just increase the entree fee. I would give it a better rating if the portion of their protein in the dishes were larger. The flavors of each dish we've tried were great - but the disappointment of not much meat at all cannot be overlooked. The banh mi sandwiches felt like they had two ounces of meat on them. My server rarely checked on me, and then when I was ready to settle up, I waited literally 15 minutes with staff moving around paying no attention to me, finally after getting up and mentioning that I needed my bill, to learn that my server left her shift, without me handed off to someone. We frequent this location. The food is always delicious and pretty consistent. We have tried to give the other Thai restaurants in town a few chances, but they're just not as good as Mai Lee Thai. I realize there have been many less favorable reviews, but we have been eating here since their old location, and have not had an experience bad enough to warrant a negative review. Items we frequently get are: Thai fried rice, pot sticker, fresh spring rolls, #21, Phad Thai, and crispy basil chicken, pork bun bowl, and have had the banh mi (really good!). On our journey heading to Wenatchee, we were craving Thai and decided to come here based on some previous Yelp recommendations. The restaurant itself was really nice, well decorated and clean - if you are looking for a cute date spot this might be your jam. Immediately upon entering - we could tell they were short staffed. Just one waitress running around with her head cut off taking phone orders, tending tables, cashing people out.. super frazzled. We sat and ordered a couple noodle dishes the classics such as Pad See Ew and Pad Thai. The food didn't come out super quickly but when it did, it was piping hot and looked really palatable. While the flavors were pretty spot on, pad thai being tangy and sweet and the pad see ew having thick chunks of noodle and a savory soy sauce I couldn't help but wonder why both dishes were so watery. There was a lot of watery scrambled egg type sauce and rather than the noodle dishes being pan fried in a wok - they were almost in a soup like egg mixture. Though I wasn't used to the presentation and un-panfried textures of the noodle dishes - both of the dishes had flavors that were spot on and reasonably priced. For being in the middle of a random kind of rural town, I was pleased to find some decent Thai food. Side note: if you like the spice racks that you ask for with thai food theirs is super salty - the jalepenos that are usually soaked in a sweet vinegar mixture is literally floating on top of salt water.. really bizzare version of this condiment! read more

So I am going to start with the positives. The good here is delicious. It's flavorful and distinct enough to keep me coming back. It's the service that is lacking. I think they are understaffed sometimes, and it takes away from the dining experience. The last time we went for dinner, the husband ordered cashew chicken, and the cooks forgot to add the cashews. So they literally gave us a small cup of cashews to sprinkle on top, didn't even offer to cook them into the order, and by then my husband was already disappointed. I am willing to go back, mostly because there aren't a lot of Thai options locally, and the as I mentioned, the food here is pretty good, more often than not. read more

This's the one of Thai dish.It called Drunken Noodle. I'm Thai who came from Thailand. So I know this's not really Drunken Noodle. It's too much sauce and squishy noodle that it supposed to be. When I asked them to change the dish, the server told me that I can't change but she can pour the juice out for me. That's ridiculous. I was very hungry that's why I just ate it even it was super worse drunk noodle that I never eat before.
