Then a large party came in and was seated in the outdoor section..it's winter with rain today and it was windy and cold in the restaurant due to staff and people going in and out. If you like commercialized Mexican food and a place for your friends to hang out with a full bar this is the place to go. I haven't been to this location for years but came in on a Friday night closer to closing and wasn't impressed with the service. Our server was new and she did put a lot of effort but she kept on forgetting to give us plates and things we asked for. The food also was just ok, we were full of chips and salsa before our food came. I got the nachos grande with beef and there was beans all on the bottom and the chips were burnt. Same with one of the salads. Their flautas are also pretty good with their sweet sauce. They had a bigger happy hour meal in the past but we usually just get flautas, nachos, appetizers, chicken wings and margaritas. Love their chips and salsa. Occasionally I like to get their crab & shrimp enchiladas. My family likes to order fajitas. You can also ask for tortillas, we used to get Mexican butter on the side and dip our tortillas in it. On the weekends they have a brunch menu. Parking is easy as there's a lot there and wait times vary. Both indoor and outdoor seating available and screens to watch sports games. read more

We arrived for dinner on a very busy Saturday night and were sat within 15 minutes. Manager was super nice and our waiter, Richard, was amazing! Great service, quick with the food and drinks were refilled promptly. He was always smiling and ready to help. Came in for a lunch with coworkers (5 of us total). We sat in the bar area, our first table was sticky so we got moved to another table. Our server was very friendly and prompt but he was the only one working. We ordered drinks, I got the ginger mule. Wasn't as strong as I expected for $10. I ordered the lunch steak fajitas. It took forever to get our food to the point where the waiter gave us several containers of chips. The food was okay, lacked flavor in my opinion. The steak was chewy. The tortillas were thick and not even flat and round as they should have been. All in all was disappointed by everything except the server. read more

This was our first time returning to dine in after only doing take out since the pandemic. My kids were excited and kept asking when was the last time we ate out? It's been that long. We walked in just before 5pm as a family of 5. Host asked if we wanted happy hour or regular sitting. As we sat down they brought out the chips and salsa. I remember chip basket always getting refilled. Well not today. We were already done with the chips when the same host came to take out drinks order. We also ordered appetizers at the same time. Appetizers came out before our drinks, one at a time. No silverware or napkins were provided. Finally we got our drinks and the empty plates were picked up. Now we ordered our plates. Still no refill on chips. Out meals came out one at a time as well. Kids meals being last. By this time I have to ask for silverware. When he came back I had to ask for refills. Poor guy, by this time he had almost the whole dining area filled to himself. When I dine in i would like not to keep asking for simple things, if I am tipping I expect for the waiter to keep up with the demand but not be overwhelmed with the amount of tables he's taking care of. I saw him sitting down people, making tortillas, bringing drinks. It's sad to see restaurants not hiring more staff. A single person cannot give 100% to all the tables. I think it might be a little while before we dine in again. read more

Evening of friday we decided to go to Chevys near where we always visit friends... We normally go to Chevys in both Bay Area and Peninsula.. This was id say our 2nd time here in this location, being first was the start of lockdown we were able to dine in with social distancing.. We ordered our usual meal , chicken flautas and Mesquite grilled chicken with salsa... We took it to go so we requested for additional salsa... The wait was extremely long 30 mins or so.. As the staff handed the bag with the food, the cleanliness issue already annoyed me.. Plastic was covered on top with sauces like their hands were messy already handling food, i wonder if they even wash... The food and salsa were just thrown inside the bag I had to fix them to make sure it won't accidentally open.. When i opened the Burrito, sauces were just there and it can spill all over , markings of sauces on the styro making the whole food look disgusting..Taste wise, i didnt finish it, only ate 10% of the meal.. The flauta was just cut into half, it could have been nicer if it was served whole, so you wont see how empty the inside was , and you began asking "where is the chicken". Presentation plays a vital role in food industry and sad to say Chevys didn't pass this, food did not compliment the long wait... We wont be back... read more

A friend of mine and our kids (my son, her daughter), went to have dinner, our waitress was really polite and kind, but we were excited our kids got to eat for $1. The menus (see picture) is what they handed us for the kids to pick their meals from. After eating and getting everything situated to leave, we get the bill and notice our discount for the kids was not applied. We asked about it, we were told the discounted meal only counts towards ONE CHILD PER TABLE, not both children. They fixed the bill to accommodate one child, and we paid full price for the other. If this is the case, why hand both children the discounted menu, and why not add that fine print to the menu itself. read more

I came to chevys here in Fairfield, ca and we had Michael as our server, he was a hostess/server filled with respect,kindness and helpful. He would help us then my daughter had a problem he got on his knee to get on her level to help with any concerns she had and fixed them. The manager Oscar was also informed of this excellent experience. Once closed Michael's respect never left. He is the best server I have ever had. I will be back and ask for him every time. Won't be coming back here again. Very slow service. It's been 30 mins and no server yet. It's not even busy. Literally 10-12 customers in entire restaurant. I hear a lot of laughter by kitchen area, so at least they're having fun back there. The manager did stop by our table to check on how things are going. Well, he was a little shocked that we hadn't placed an order, so he ended up taking our order. At least he was nice and very apologetic. Update: Once Gene, who I think may be an assistant manager or supervisor, discovered that we had not yet received service, he was on top of it. Our food came out faster than usual, and he personally checked on our needs multiple times, which, in my opinion, made up for the shortcoming. Take advantage of the happy hour and taco Tuesday. Make sure you tip your servers tho. They deal with the worst people. I'm talking chain restaurant people.
