    Fantastic dinner roll
    Boj o.

Great local eatery of Italian food. From the beginning, the freshly baked dinner rolls was a warm welcome. It was begging to be smothered with butter. It was delicious! My son loved his spaghetti with meatballs and the highlight was their chicken tenders! Cooked to perfection! Juicy, tender and savory! Don't forget to order their potatoes. It was a perfect match! The pizza wasn't a hit. The toppings fell off the pizza as soon as a picked it up. I didn't expect the pineapple was huge like it came out from a can. The Canadian bacon was sliced thin but they were huge. It could've been better if they had it sliced in smaller pieces. The cheese was a lot. Too much that covered all the toppings. Some may like and some don't. Again it's subjective. I'll skip the pizza next time. The service was super friendly. Inside has a touch of nostalgia. Great for family.

Not sure what happened, but the cheese is not the same. Making matters worse they now charge for bread, which they never did before. Not what it once was......salad was good but that was definitely not the hero.

Fan of Van Nuys Lido Our waiter was a man of great patience and kindness towards 5 old ladies! He was patient and informative. We came to celebrate my dear friend's good health. It was incredibly delicious. The windows are hilarious when naughty soccer kids run by. I came for pizza and raved about it all day long. You will see the other options below that was so satisfying. Despite the other comments below, my recommendation is to go for plentiful tasty food, good price, courteous service consistently.

My favorite Italian restaurant outside of Italy. Great food and a surprisingly large selection. I've been going regularly to this location for about 40 years since I first moved to Simi Valley. Love the food and the friendly staff. If you don't know what to try there order one of the samplers.

Not Alfredo flavor. Just plain sour cream.

Foo was very plain, ordered rigatoni with Alfredo sauce, I got a small plate of boiled rigatoni with just sour cream. Never coming back to this restaurant. The pick up guy also was not friendly.

I have always held the cioppino at Chi Chi's in high regard. I had not had the one at their Simi Valley location until now. And it is just as good as the one from their Santa Clarita location. Their pizza's might be good, but they're priced so expensively, I haven't brought myself to order one yet. (Nearly $20 for an individual size). Wife got a pasta medley, but was unimpressed with their tomato sauces. Service was good. The server was attentive, not overbearing but also not a ghost either. Super casual ambiance, in a very relaxed dining room. They have an outdoor covered patio section as well. Parking is plentiful, probably better than the Santa Clarita location too.

    Chicken Parmigiana

December brought me to a place where I could go to be warm inside when it was cold outside. I was torn between the Cannelloni and the Chicken Parmigiana, both equally cheesy, oven-baked, and guaranteed to warm my bones. There's something about the Santa Ana winds that makes me feel like I could scarf down a mountain of spaghetti. It was busy, we were hungry, and then our server arrived with a basket of hot bread rolls, butter, and the balsamic vinegar with olive oil. "Are you ladies ready to order" she said. I decided on the Chicken Parmigiana. My friends chose the fettuccine Alfredo, the grilled chicken with vegetables, and a side of meatballs. Chi Chi's is a neighborhood staple with undoubtedly the best pizza and unlimited pasta you could get in town. The bread basket was replenished, my food was piping hot, and the marinara sauce is worth its weight in gold. We left with our bellies full, and hearts happy!

Cute little spot good for groups or small parties. Stopped by here for lunch and had great service (our server even brought a to-go ranch cup when bringing our boxes for my friend who was eating her pizza with ranch!). Prices are moderate, not cheap - but our pizza was very delicious and the bread was great too. Nice spot to come if you're craving Italian food with good service! I'm curious to try their pasta next time.

Tables were pretty close to each other but I don't think this was harmful to the experience at all just a thought. They had Christmas decorations still up. Food: We ordered the Calamari Fritti, the calamari was underseasoned but well fried and the shrimp that came with it was well seasoned but only came with 4 pieces. The pesto aioli that came with it was very tasty. Alfredo sauce in the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was strong and its high fat content added a lot of body to it, very garlicky and American, but be warned it was very salty! The pasta was pretty overcooked. The Chicken Parmesan was well seasoned and quite a large portion, we chose to sub the mashed potatoes it comes with for a side of spaghetti (highly recommend for $4 extra). The spaghetti was a little undercooked but luckily the heat of the dish and rest of the food allowed it to get a little better as we ate. Service: We had called in and made a reservation ahead of time to make sure we could get a table. We got to the restaurant 10 minutes before our reservation and the host had somehow already crossed out my name, although that happened, they still had a table ready for us and we were seated within about a minute. The overall vibe that we got from our server was a little odd. She checked on us sporadically and it just felt that we were getting treated a little differently than others. With that being said, the bus boy was extremely professional and helpful. He brought out our food in a clean and calm manner. He was easier to get a hold of compared to our server and it felt that he was always willing and wanting to help.

You'll hear many patrons describe this restaurant as a hidden gem. Believe them. From our observation, reservations are highly desirable and may prove necessary for weekend nights. The only seatings available when we called a day earlier were at 4:30 or after 7:00 PM. We took the earlier, and frankly are glad we did. We arrived at their unassuming storefront location as the first patrons of the day, were warmly greeted and immediately seated. From this moment forward, my wife and I agreed: If anyone hopes to run a highly successful small restaurant, Bella's Bistro is the template. Inside, the ambiance was tasteful with gentle background music at the absolutely perfect tempo and volume to allow for conversation. We found the furnishings, tableware and restroom immaculate. Fresh flowers and a candle adorned each table, and the decorations for Valentine's Day were just the right tone, conveying appeal without being garish. Kudos to the staff for getting it right on all of the above. Though I generally set expectations low for the wine list or bartending at a small establishment, Bella's features a diverse wine list and specialty cocktails that pair very well with their menu. Of particular note was the superb crafting of cocktails during our visit - again, exceeding our expectations. It was during cocktail service that we noticed the full-service bar tucked in the rear corner of the restaurant, offering barstool seating and counter service for those who may be so inclined. We shared a nicely prepared caesar salad, while enjoying the basket of varied breads. While refrigerated butter pats were provided in the basket, it would have been a tad easier and more appealing if a small container of whipped butter had been offered instead. Our entrees included their homemade ravioli as well as chicken parmigiana, the latter included a large perfectly crafted portion of chicken accompanied by perfectly prepared spaghetti. To say this restaurant knows how to make and served great pasta is in understatement, with the ravioli a choice to be savored. A simple cheesecake dessert topped off the evening. Though the restaurant was full as our meal ended, we never felt rushed or ignored. Service was at all times attentive but never overbearing. There was genuine interest in our enjoyment and satisfaction. We encourage you to try Bella's Bistro!

The Food 5/5 As someone who follows a gluten-free diet, I had always avoided pasta restaurants, assuming options would be limited. I was thrilled to find an excellent gluten-free menu! I ordered the Salmon with Asparagus Pesto and a side salad. Both were absolutely delicious, the salad dressing is clearly homemade and very flavorful. My husband loved his Carbonara with Angel Hair, and our friends both enjoyed the Salmon Salad with asparagus and artichoke. We shared the Crème Brûlée to finish the night, and it was exceptional. The only downside was the service. Our waiter seemed a bit impatient from the start. Once our entrees were served, we didn't see him again until the very end of the meal. We all wanted a second glass of wine, but were never offered one, and our water glasses remained empty the entire time. It was a slow night, so the lack of attention was a bit surprising. The kitchen is doing everything right! The food is high-quality and safe for those with dietary restrictions. I will definitely be back for the salmon, and I'm hopeful that the service will be a bit more attentive on our next visit.

Although the ambiance is a basic order at the cashier and pick-up, the pizza here is anything but ordinary. Whether it is New York, Detroit, Sicilian, or grandma style dough, it is expertly fermented, resulting in a crust that strikes that perfect balance between crisp and tender. It has just the right amount of chew, and a subtle depth of flavor that speaks to pure craft and technique. The crust is the foundation, and it just gets better and builds from here. The sauce! I can drink it up as it has all the right notes of sweet, tangy and flavor. The toppings feel intentionally selected for both quality and compatibility. Nothing is excessive, nothing is lacking; every component is beautifully balanced. Whether it's the brightness of fresh herbs, the richness of meats, qualty cheese, or the perfectly seasoned sauce, everything works in unison. We ordered the Hot Honey, Wiseguy, and Rosa. Each bite is indulgent and satisfying. You can taste the influence of a skilled chef in every detail, from the texture and flavor development of the crust to the thoughtful building of toppings and finishing touches. This is the kind of pizza that redefines expectations. It goes beyond comfort food and enters the level of an indulgent culinary experience. We also had an order of the meatballs to start; it was moist, flavorful, and indulgent. The meatballs were drownng in the sauce, which served as a great way to savor the remaining crust.
