    Thai style papaya salad
    Cindy P.

Service: 5/5 The service was incredible! We had a large table of 14 and they were so attentive. The waiter Kevin kept cracking jokes and the overall vibe was so enjoyable! We had so much fun laughing and the food came out so fast! Food: 5/5 The food was so delicious! Everything was flavor packed and personally for me I eat really spicy foods so the spice level delivered! I really liked the Laos style papaya salad, the tom yum soup, pineapple fried rice, crispy fish, pad kra pow, basically everything HAHA The owner and Kevin were very knowledgable and helped pick the items based off our taste This was probably our favorite meal of our entire trip my whole family and I want to go back again! Thank you for an amazing experience we will be back! Highlight of our trip!

This place was so good i forgot to even take photos of the food. Some of my favorite items were the beef pad thai and yellow beef curry. Their tum yum was good as well. I specifically made this post because I wanted to shoutout the worker Kevin for making our experience memorable. The inside felt clean and very inviting. I recommend this place to those looking to try a new thai place!

I used to say you can't really mess up pad Thai......I was proven wrong. I'm not sure what exactly happened but they've either slid in some tofu to my chicken pad Thai or it was just some chewy, rubbery chicken. Either way was not good. I did do this as a carry out order so not sure if the experience would be different inside the restaurant.

My first time coming to this restaurant and it was great! The space was nice and I liked the ambiance in the restaurant. We did family style and ordered pad thai, tom yum soup, red curry, and spring rolls. The pad Thai and the red curry was our favorite. The staff was nice but sometimes it took a while to get our attention. They have a small lot in the back but it fills up fast so you can find street parking nearby. All in all, a great experience and I would come back!

The service and the food are great. And they have parking in the back and street parking. We really enjoyed ourselves in the ambience makes you feel like you're in Thailand

Loved the food, super fresh and tasty. Waiter was top notch. Since I last went, appeared they did some renovation and refreshing of the space. Definitely a lot brighter inside than I recall.

How can this order be complete when the place was CLOSED - is this a SCAM?

Please resolve this issue: I ordered food to pick-up for my husband's birthday for him & a couple friends to celebrate; however when I arrived to pick-up, there was a hand-written sign "Closed - kitchen problem" on the door. I rushed in search of another place that I could order from and pick-up in time for my hubby's gathering. WHY would I be charged the next day $$$ for food that was NOT picked-up or even prepared. This was through DoorDash, but they said they did an investigation and your establishment denied. All you have to do is check sales in the evening on 12/10/25 to see there were no other sales. The date, time, and charge in on this receipt for NO FOOD RECEIVED.

Be aware of Credit card surcharge . It was not known till I got the receipt.

Meats are not fresh. Stuffed chicken wings are half cooked, not done. All other orders taste pretty bad, except pineapple fried rice.

Such a great restaurant! We didn't feel like cooking that day, so we chose a restaurant kind of at random and I guess we got lucky. At first glance the prices seemed a bit high but the portions are family style and very worth the cost for the size and quality. The interior is pretty nice too, cozy and traditional but still a nice dine in experience. The staff were also efficient and friendly and the owner was so nice. I have a terrible spice tolerance but the owner assured us the dishes we got weren't going to be too spicy and he was right, they were all really good and still super flavorful without being too spicy. We got the duck breast curry, khao soi, thai ginger chicken and grilled pork jowl. Everything was fantastic, we got the pork jowl medium spicy which i was worried might be too hot for me, but it was great and not too hot! It has a nice char to it and was so flavorful with the herbs, pepper and onions it's cooked with. The khao soi was also a winner, it came with fried soft shell crabs which went amazing in the savory and rich curry sauce. The noodles were housemade and had a nice chew to them. Loved the thai ginger chicken too, it definitely needed that side of rice to soak up all that delicious sauce. It was a very comforting flavor, like a chicken soup but brighter. Last but not least we got the duck breast curry. It had a ton of bamboo shoots and fresh pineapple stewed together for an earthy, sweet flavor that went great with the grilled duck breast! Personally I like duck a little more rare but it wasn't too tough and still had a great grilled flavor. The flavor of the pineapple was also great in the sauce but I don't care for pineapple itself so I did pick those out. Went great with the side of sticky rice though! Then we also got a thai tea brulee for dessert and it was fantastic! The crust was thin, crisp, and delicate, the custard was light and kind of fluffy like a mousse. It had a light thai tea flavor and was just the right amount of sweet. After the tax and a 20% tip it was about $170 for three people, but we absolutely over ordered and had plenty leftover for a second dinner the next day. All in all well worth it and it's encouraged me to try more thai food! Can't wait to come back to Chiang Mai!

This place is legit! Love their specials here! I want to go back to try some of their other dishes. We ordered the usuals though yellow curry with chicken, pad thai with shrimp, mixed veges, and their mango sticky rice dessert. Everything was so delish! This is a hidden gem on King Street. They have a small parking lot or you can find street parking.

My favorite things to get here are the pineapple curry with rice and the golden calamari! You get rice separately. Also they do have a vegetarian menu so they are vegetarian friendly, just make sure you let them know that. I went here on a Thursday night. Atmosphere - It's nicely decorated and gives you almost an ambience of a house. Depending on where you're seated, you can get booth-ish seating that have comfy cushions or you can get the western dining table kind with cushions. That's what we got since we had a party of 6 people. We went for dinner at 7:30pm and we made a reservation so it was easy and it was fairly busy. Service - Service was fine and our waiter was nice. Cost - The range is around $15 - $22 per dish depending on what protein you get. Parking - They have a small lot right behind them that maybe fits like 5 - 7 cars? I don't recall. There is also street parking in front and on the side. Location - It's on King Street like if you're headed towards Kaimuki. It's on a corner right across from the Mō'ili'ili library and it's next to several other restaurants. This is my third time coming here. I like getting the golden calamari, pineapple curry with rice, and pad kee mao (I didn't see it on the menu this time so we asked them and they made it). I usually get my food spicy but not this time around since I was with people who could only handle negative spice (HAHA) so I asked for some on the side and they'll give you a chili sauce and red pepper flakes. I don't have pictures of all of them because I didn't want to hold the party back from eating (haha!).

Made reservations for 545, got there a little late. However, it was only us and another party. The place was empty. Food came out nice and hot (not spicy). Flavors were on point. Would recommend on going there to experience authentic north Thai food.

If you're looking for authentic Lao food, this place definitely delivers. We ordered the Soop Noor Mai (bamboo shoot salad), Lao-style Som Tum, Beef Red Curry with jasmine rice, and Seen Haeng (beef jerky). The standout dish for me was the Soop Noor Mai. It was unlike anything I've had before, with an earthy, herbaceous flavor and plenty of texture from the shredded bamboo shoots, toasted rice powder, fresh herbs, and greens. Every bite had something different going on, making it both interesting and deeply satisfying. The Lao-style papaya salad was fresh, vibrant, and packed with bold flavors. The beef red curry was rich, creamy, and fragrant with tender beef that paired perfectly with the jasmine rice. The only dish that missed the mark for me was the Seen Haeng. While the flavor was good, the beef was cooked a little too long and ended up drier than I prefer. I personally like Lao beef jerky with a bit more tenderness and chew. Everything else was excellent, and the relaxing garden setting made the experience even better. If you're craving authentic Lao cuisine in Honolulu, Olay's is well worth a visit. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu.

This, however, will probably be my first and last visit. The place is cute enough, with a large back garden area where I chose to dine. Service was also great. I appreciate the little button at the table that I could click for service. The food, however, was mediocre at best. My friend and I ordered the pad Thai with tofu, ginger chicken, chicken satay, and pork larb. The pad Thai was the best dish, but it was very tomatoey, which I did not expect. The chicken with ginger had very little chicken. It was mostly julienned vegetables, including celery which I do not care for. The chicken satay was kinda dry and most certainly needed the peanut sauce to make it palatable. The larb was very dry with very bland flavor, served on one lettuce leaf and a wedge of cabbage. How am I supposed to eat that? All of it was quite disappointing, especially for the price point. As I was eating this meal I remembered the Thai food truck at the end of Ward, where Fisherman's Pier used to be. Now THAT was some good Thai food. I guess that was the best thing about this meal-remembering where I could get really good Thai food-so that the next time I'm having a craving, I can go back over there...I hope it's still there.

Service was one of the highlights. The staff was attentive, friendly, and quick throughout the meal. Our Thai tea arrived almost immediately. I'm talking within a minute of ordering. It's definitely on the stronger side with less milk than most Thai teas, allowing the tea flavor to really shine through. It leans a bit sweeter than average, but the sweetness was balanced, and you could genuinely taste the freshly steeped tea leaves. The Thai boat noodles are what this restaurant is known for, so they were a must-order. Since it was my first time trying boat noodles, I figured this was the best place to experience them. I can definitely see why they're a customer favorite and would recommend ordering them if it's your first visit. The beef pad see ew surprised me. It was sweeter than most versions I've had, but it really worked. The noodles were cooked perfectly with great texture. My only complaint was the beef. It was a bit chewy and didn't match the quality of the noodles. The seafood tom yum was the biggest letdown. The broth itself was flavorful, but the seafood selection felt like a frozen mix rather than fresh ingredients. The mussels were already removed from their shells, the squid was chewy, and the soup included canned mushrooms instead of fresh ones, along with fish cakes and fish balls. It lacked the freshness I was hoping for. Overall, I left feeling that the proteins were the weakest part of the meal. The flavors, service, and atmosphere were all enjoyable, but the quality of the meat and seafood didn't quite stand out. That said, it's still a solid Thai restaurant, especially considering the options in Hawaii. Would I come back? I'm on the fence, but probably not

The food came out fast. First the Drunken Noodles, and wow... that was ono. The thick, chewy noodles reminded me a little of a chow/look fun, tossed in a a sauce with tender beef. Every bite was packed with flavor. Next came the Thai Beef Salad and the Thai Fried Chicken. The salad had that classic tangy dressing with vinegar and fish sauce that paired perfectly with the beef. If I had one small kine suggestion, it would be to add just a little more beef, but the flavors were on point. The fried chicken was cooked to crispy perfection--lightly seasoned so you could actually taste the chicken. Dipped into the Thai sweet chili sauce, you know the one, it was the perfect combination of crunchy, savory, and sweet. Even though we were pretty full, there was no way we were not going to order dessert. We shared the Mango Sticky Rice, which was the perfect sweet and tart ending to a great meal. Last but not least, one Thai iced coffee to go. Yeah it's late but wanted to stay up and binge watch a couple of episodes of a K-drama, don't judge. Overall, Siam Garden Café delivered. Great food, friendly service, quick turnaround, and now with later Sunday hours, it's an even better option when those late-night Thai cravings hit. We'll definitely be back to work our way through the rest of the menu.

After a recent visit to Siam Garden Cafe, I thought I would post a brief update/review:…read more I ventured to SGC with my mom, brother, and SIL last month for lunch (on a Saturday, no less). We arrived shortly before 11:30am, and thankfully we were seated immediately (in a booth!) as there was only 1 group dining (this would be the antithesis when we departed as the restaurant was packed after 12:00pm). We got settled in our booth and looked over the menu. Collectively, we ordered/shared: Spicy Eggplant Pad Thai with shrimp Papaya Salad Siam Jungle Curry with chicken Steamed Fish with Soy Sauce I honestly couldn't decide which dish was my favourite, as I thought they were all a generous portion and flavorful. My mom complimented the eggplant and steamed fish repeatedly, and while I also favoured the eggplant, I found myself gravitating to the curry throughout the meal. My SIL also liked the fish and eggplant, while my brother had many good things to say about the pad Thai. We did take some leftovers home, and as we packed up the food I wondered to myself why I hadn't returned to SGC sooner. SERVICE The staff friendly, patient, and very polite. BOTTOM LINE We will certainly be back.
