Besides chicken, yes there are other protein, but mostly chicken given its name lol. The food was delicious, but I was hoping for larger noodle soup (pho) portion sizes. Not too busy on the weekend alone 2pm. Order at the counter, get a number, and seat yourself. Food came in about 15 minutes, super fresh food. Ordered a five spice noodle soup ($17.50) and steak with garlic noodles ($20). The space was pretty clean, simple design. The noodle soup had a traditional flat wide noodles which tasted delicious. In a chicken broth with protein on the side. The five chicken piece ends had a some dryness. Dipping in the soup helped with the dryness. For the chicken, I think going for sauce ones would have been better. As for the steak with garlic noodles, it was cooked medium rare which was great, super tender to eat. Garlic noodles were garlicky which tasted delicious. Overall, super unique restaurant on Valencia street with fresh flavors.

Who doesn't like fried chicken? It's like a katsu but with popcorn chicken seasoning. That along with a nice bowl of satay noodles. Would def come back to try out their different noodles that they have.

Super casual easy going spot with delicious and fresh food. Obviously the main thing here is chicken so we tried the popcorn chicken and spring rolls. Both were solid and tasted very fresh! Loved the texture of the popcorn chicken. I appreciated that the food is served on actual plates and not disposable or a basket or to go containers. Makes it more dine in friendly. Will definitely return to try a bunch more items! Service was friendly and patient while we took a moment to decide on what to get. Highly recommend!

I may be an outlier in my experience with Chic n' Time as I thought everything was just ok. My visit took place about a month ago. I opted for a bowl of shrimp pho and had a few bites of the spicy noodle soup. The shrimp pho ($17.XX) was rather bland, particularly the broth. I was expecting at least some bean sprouts or other toppings to be included. Substitutions aren't encouraged or accomodated, but at least the cashier ran the idea with the chef/manager. The restaurant does have a nice inviting space for quick dining. Chic n' Time is located in the heart of the Mission, parking can be difficult, but lots of bus lines near by and BART is about a few blocks away. I'm willing to try this restaurant again, but probably not any time soon. #4/2025

simple and quick place to get a balanced meal for a good price. got the five spice chicken with garlic noodles. SO GOOD! noodles were slightly overcooked (too soft) but strong umami garlic flavor. chicken was super flavorful and the sweet sauce really balanced out the salty flavors. loved that there is a side of steamed broccoli to balance out the flavorful meal. overall, a solid place and come hungry since the portions are huge!

Quick weekend afternoon late lunch for 2 around 2:30pm. Restaurant was about 1/3 full with a casual stream of to go orders too. Was able to order right away. Order from the counter in the back. Menu is available and you can step aside to look through it if needed. After ordering, grab a seat anywhere and the food will come out to you. Drinks are self serve from a fridge next to the ordering counter. Taiwanese chicken steak. Typically my go to, if not the five spice chicken. Can be ordered with white rice or garlic noodles. Also a few pieces of brocoli. Their garlic noodles are great but I opted for rice this time. The chicken is a huge piece, perfectly fried. Crispy exterior with very juicy meat inside. Comes with a red chili pepper powder you can sprinkle on the dish + a sweet and sour type sauce that pairs nicely with the chicken. Just under $20 for a dish that'll fill you up well.

I wasn't planning on coming to this spot; it ended up being a back up to a restaurant I wanted to go to originally, but the line was too long at that place. I'm glad I ended up stumbling upon Chic n' Time as I had a great meal here. I ordered the popcorn chicken as an appetizer and for my main course, I got the garlic butter prawns with garlic noodles. The portions here are generous, and the flavors are on point. The chili powder for the popcorn chicken is really flavorful and added a nice kick to the appetizer. The popcorn chicken bites were pretty tender and had a lot of crunch. The garlic butter prawn dish was on the oily side given the amount of butter they put, but it was good! They also added some broccoli which helped the dish taste just a tad healthier than what it actually is lol. We also had a taro milk tea to share which frankly wasn't that good. Definitely not a place to get your milk tea fix. I'd skip out on the drinks here, but do try their food items. You'll leave stuffed and with a box of leftovers!

Came here on a Thursday night and there were no issues finding a seat! Lots of seating and nice staff. Good: - I got the garlic noodles with BBQ chicken - definitely good portion sizes here, you won't be hungry coming out of it - I liked the crunchy texture of the BBQ chicken too - The vibe is very chill and we sat there for a while catching up - quiet inside Bad: - Took some time for the food to come out Overall was a really fun casual place to get a meal. It's not too expensive and the food is unique!

Food: - Garlic noodles are buttery, salty, and full of chunks of garlic. - Five spice chicken thigh is perfectly seasoned and moist. - Fried chicken is crunchy, moist, but a bit salty. - Satay pho was a lot spicier than I was anticipating and I actually could not finish the broth. Service: Feels to be family owned and cashier/food servers were always very kind. Ambiance: - There is seating inside and outside. - A lot of people were grabbing take out. Came here in a pretty large group after church. We come pretty regularly and every time we do they are always so sweet and accommodating. The food is also really good and the portions are more than enough! I love the five spice chicken garlic noodles! The five spice chicken is def the star! The owners and employees are always so welcoming and quick to help. I definitely recommend coming here for a nice casual bite, the food, the staff, and vibes will not disappoint!

I placed an pick up order Via Uber Eats for a restaurant I've eaten at plenty of times called "Perilla" when I arrived I noticed the door said Chic N' Time, I immediately walk out of the restaurant thinking I went into the wrong place. I confirm on my phone the address and it shows that I am at the correct place. I go back inside and speak with an employee and I ask him was this Perilla, he looked confused and said no this is Chic N Time, I asked him where was Perilla, he said he never heard of them. I then show him my Uber Eats order on my phone and he confirmed that he had my order and it was ready for pick up. I reluctantly take the food and return home, soon as I open the bag I can instantly tell that this was not going to be to my liking. I ordered the grilled beef and garlic noodles, it honestly looked like a sliced New York steak strip, tasted nothing like the beef from Perilla. I reached out to Uber Eats, they tried to deny my refund request at first but I escalated it to a manager and eventually my order was approved for a refund. Google list two locations for Perilla, 525 Haight st and 836 Irving St. Something is going on, either this restaurant is catfishing as Perilla on Uber Eats and is stealing pictures from the real Perilla or some type of "partnership" is going on between these two. Below I will show a picture of what I am use to getting from Perilla at 525 Haight st vs what I received today from "Chic N Time. Ubereats was not able to give me an answer to this whole ordeal. I am very confused.

I have no idea why this place isn't more popular. I'd guess it's because the inside is casual and not as Insta-ready as its peers. What it does have is delicious modern Asian food at good prices and a perfect location. The service was prompt and kind; just order at the counter and sit. Peppercorn Chicken Wings: spicy and crispy wings topped with fried garlic, green onions, and jalapenos. I am so into it Beef Satay Noodle Soup: Actually spicy in the best way. Tons of flavor with a bunch of julienned cucumbers. The noodles were plentiful and bouncy. I'd definitely get this again.

Was here for Father's Day with my extended family Great food and service for a quick place to get a good meal. The host reserved a table for us and was kind enough to even give us tofu sampler in addition to our orders. Definitely on my Repeat Visit list when in the city again. read more

This place is great! The owner, Michael, is so friendly and inviting. He's always there and is a great addition to the Valencia Street restaurant community. This place is relatively new to the area and is Vietnamese-Asian fusion. Ordering online is easy but you can also dine-in -- they have plenty of indoor seating and a parklett. My favorite entrees are the five-spice chicken and bbq chicken, both come with a side of broccoli and garlic noodles that are TO DIE FOR. They also serve a variety of beverages/beer as well as pho. This food just hits the spot, true comfort food. read more

My Friends, my wife and I came to this new spot in San Francisco for dinner, which was Recommended by my good friend. We try numerous dishes & All was delicious! This was some of the best food I'd had in a while. As previous reviews said, the employees were super friendly and pickup was very easy! I forgot to take a picture, but I got the Garlic Noodles with Five Spice chicken -- the noodles were so flavorful, and the chicken was moist and also super flavorful. It was so refreshing to get a simple but tasty meal. Will definitely order again the next time I'm in the Mission! read more

This review is for home delivery via Bentocart. I had stopped by Perilla years ago and the food was excellent. Didn't visit often since there were other Vietnamese restaurants closer to home. However, was nicely surprised to learn on Yelp that the former owner of Perilla now operates Chic n'Time. We ordered the garlic noodle/5-spice chicken, curry chicken with rice, and bbq chicken with rice. The garlic noodles were heavenly, buttery, and garlicky, as it should be. Arrived with a generous serving of sliced chicken and vinaigrette. I'd get this again just for the noodles. The curry chicken has a nice kick to it (but still palatable for kids). Also surprised by the generous serving of sliced chicken and minimal fillers. The carrots and potatoes were perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a slightly spicy, hearty curry! The bbq chicken over jasmine rice was probably my least favorite of the three. It comes with 12 pieces of boneless chicken over rice (no vegetables). The sauce is similar to a spicy sweet and sour glaze. Wish some of the fried items would be included on the Bentocart menu, such as the imperial rolls. Looking forward to trying some of their other dishes! read more

Great addition to Valencia St. Super friendly team and top notch takeout service that goes above and beyond. Been waiting for some solid shilin style Taiwanese fried chicken, and this was worth the wait. Definitely don't sleep on the chili powder that comes with it too, it brings the . Meanwhile my wife is also a big fan and highly recommends the Vietnamese five spice chicken, the peppercorn wings, and the garlic noodles. We'll be coming back on the regular read more

From a sunny day late afternoon lunch or a rainy day pick me up, I feel like this place is the best option anytime for a savory chicken oriented meal. Service is world class, friendly, and makes the food all the better! After ordering in store, it took about 10-15 minutes for our food to arrive. I view this as a HUGE positive because you know you're getting the freshest food possible. I had the chicken steak and was surprised at how juicy (& not greasy) the inside was. Sides with broccoli & garlic noodles were a must. Spring rolls & thai tea were excellent as well. I'll certainly be back whether it's in person on their great (and really clean!) outdoor seating or delivery! read more

Amazing experience! We were visiting from LA and wanted warm food during the rain. Michael was very helpful and it was obvious he was proud of the food and proud to serve it. He was very attentive to our needs even before we were aware we needed anything. The garlic butter lobster was amazing w/ the garlic noodles: rich and creamy with delicious lobster. He wasn't lying when he said the popcorn chicken (not pictured because we devoured it) was the best in town. Make sure to ask for their different spices!! The portions were huge and we left satiated and with smiles on our faces (+ leftovers!) Highly recommend!! This place should be on your "Visit Immediately" list. read more

We love this spot! Their five spice chicken is my favorite dish here. The chicken is super tender and the flavor is incredible. I've had five spice chicken from other restaurants but the seasoning and way they cook it here far superior than what I've had elsewhere! We've also tried their crispy chicken steak and curry prawn and both are great options to get here. Like the five spice chicken, the seasoning and the care they put into their food is incredible. Also the owner is so gracious and kind. We were getting take out but decided to dine-in instead and he reheated and transferred my food into a bowl for me. We had such a lovely conversation with him and he mentioned that he's expanding his noodle soup menu too. We're excited to continue trying all the dishes here and to support this business that truly has it all from great food to hospitality! read more

This place is great. We came here because people recommended the popcorn chicken, I was not let down! I am very picky about my popcorn chicken, and this place had the best pop pop in sf. Breading was balanced, seasoning was on point, chicken juicy, pepper powder was spicy. Definitely try it yourself when you come! Managed to pop down to my neighborhood and try out this new spot on Valencia. They're brand new and supposedly they're a Taiwanese Asian fusion restaurant serving fried chicken fillets and five spice chicken. Just tried a few items and the fried chicken is amazing, juicy and tender. Not too many Chinese food places on Valencia, definitely would come back and try a few other items. read more

It was raining and we were hungry and what would be better than five spice chicken with chicken pho. It was super comforting but I think the chicken was a bit dry. My spouse got the garlic noodles and the five spice chicken. I think the chicken was the best part - skin was crispy and tasty. Garlic noodles were just okay. It was not very chewy or flavorful. Also they gave broccoli in the noodle plate. I liked it for a rainy day but it wasn't knock your socks off. read more

Garlic noodles and fried chicken are so good here. These garlic noodles are the same you'd get at perilla or PPQ (Vietnamese style) and have that addictive umami flavor. This is one of 2 shops I know of in Sf that do Taiwanese night market style fried chicken steak. And they do it well here! Seasoned and crispy and a huge portion. The chicken wings are also sooooo good. Fried with garlic and scallions. Nice to have another Asian fast casual in the mission! They also have outdoor seating with heat lamps and indoor seating too. read more

So yummy. Had the shrimp rolls for quick lunch and was very impressed! It came with a total of 3 full spring roll cut in half with this sweet sticky and spicy peanut sauce. I will be back!!! Oh did I mention that was only for $9?? read more

Wow! Love Love Love! We've been wanting to try this restaurant ever since it opened. Absolutely lived up to its 5 star rating. Michael (the owner) was so gracious and kind. We were even offered to taste some of the dishes we did not order. Highly suggest you share dishes so you can experience it all. Our favorites: Appetizers - Peppercorn Chicken Wings, Popcorn Chicken, & Imperial Rolls Entrees (Step 1 - Garlic Noodles!) - 5 Spice Chicken, Crispy Chicken Steak, & Garlic Butter Crab Sneak Peek (not yet on menu) - Crab Asparagus Soup We have already added Chic n' Time to our heavy rotation of Mission restaurants. This is a new place on Valencia, by one of the managers of Perilla. Michael is an amazing owner, friendly and makes incredibly good food. Would highly recommend the chicken steak and garlic noodles. Super solid meal to get you through the work week (or any day of the week). The garlic noodles are one of the tastiest and least fussy noodle dishes you can get in the city. I ate the roast pork first. But what I got tasted more of grilled pork. The meat and veggies were generous. But the pork was a bit dry. It needed more mayonnaise to give it more moisture. Bread was crunchy but I waited an hour to eat it and the bread got a bit dry and dense too. Next I ate the lemongrass beef. I felt that the meat portion was less than the pork. This one tasted better as the beef was tender and moist. I do anticipate on returning to try their bbq pork, meatball, curry chicken and pork belly options and maybe ask for extra mayo.

Very flavorful, albeit a bit salty; I really enjoyed the addition of the arugula, which cut through the oiliness. The portion is a bit on the smaller side, but overall reasonable considering we're in San Francisco.
