Jennifer's mother started my nails (removing SNS) and Queenie did my pedicure and SNS fill. Queenie and Jennifer's mother provided quality service and were very attentive to my nail care. The only thing missing is the lack of SNS colors-the selection here VERY is limited. This nail shop is located near paintball and indoor surfing stores. UPDATE: After just a few days (nails done on a Sunday, three nails cracked and/or chipped by Wednesday, as it was Thanksgiving week I returned to shop on a Friday) and had Queenie repair the three nails. I will not return to this shop as I paid top dollar for SNS nail care (I've been doing for over two years at my hometown shop) which is suppose to last 1-3 months before IF any chipping normal wear and tear occurs. I got a pedicure here yesterday and it was amazing, I called the same day after a long day of work to see if they had any openings for one and they accommodated very well. Once I got there I was greeted and was immediately sat in the pedicure chair. I was shown what types of pedicures they do, chose my color, and we got started immediately. The pedicure I chose was $50 with gel, which is a bit pricey, but I would say it was well worth it with the careful application, the massage that came with it, and how precise they were with the pedicure. It was also very beautiful inside with very cute decoration! It also wasn't busy which is something I prefer since it was nice and quiet and relaxing. This was my first time at this salon. I had a gift certificate and booked an appointment at the salon. The salon is located at the same plaza as the Alley. I had a previous gel pedicure and wanted to get a new gel pedicure. I was seen by the only employee in store and then seen by another employee for the rest of my service. I appreciate that the tools used were new and I didn't get any cuts. I just wished the removal and application process was smoother. The top coat of my previous gel wasn't removed properly. The nail wasn't soaked long enough and the cuticle pusher was used to remove the rest of the polish. The lady was accepting calls or assisting other customers or coworkers during my appointment. I neeeeded to get a pedicure done because my big toe was hurting and it felt like my nail was digging in. I saw this place was open when I'm passing by, and I called them to make sure I can get in. They kindly welcomed me and started my service right away. The place is very beautiful and looks very clean. The employees wear masks, customers have to wear masks, must wash hands, and must allow them to take your temperature. They also add plastic on the chairs and they change the plastic every customer. The workers also wear a face shield with their mask. They also made a cover/barrier between the customer and nail tech. They recommend having an appointment but since they weren't busy when I stopped by, they were able to give me a pedicure service. I don't know the name of the guy who helped me but I really liked his service! I only asked for a regular pedicure plus with gel polish ($45 total before tip) and I feel like he went above and beyond. He did well on cleaning and trimming my nails, and he also added some massages! Usually with a regular pedicure, you don't get that. He applied multiple products, I kinda lost count lol. Since it was my first time coming here, I really enjoyed receiving a great service. They also have an atm machine so you can take out money for tip! And it only charged me $0.50 to take out cash. The tech who did my pedicure was very thorough and meticulous and did an amazing job, including a fill on my big toes with acrylic because they had grown out (I like my big toes to be a square shape). I don't live in the area but I would definitely come back if I needed a pedicure. The prices aren't bad for the treatment you get either. The deluxe pedi was $40 and $15 for the gel polish. [with the COVID restrictions, they take your temp upon entering and ask that you wear a mask. They either have a mask or face shield on while working on you and also put a seat cover over your chair. It was like a gamble between the ladies on who would have to work on him. AGAIN, not okay! I will say that the gentleman that worked on my toes did a good job. He would get 4 stars. Scheduled an appointment for a pedicure and I let the owner know we were doing gel pedicure, she scheduled us and failed to let us know that it was $13 extra on top of the $25 for that service. We get there on time, and after waiting for 10 minutes she comes up to us and says in a condescending tone "by the way it's an extra $13 dollars for gel pedicure" as we where inquiring why, she proceeds to explain it in a rude tone and rolling her eyes. This was my friend's first time here and I was so embarrassed to be treated with such disrespect for no reason, but inquiring about something. I have been here several times, and although at times she has been kinda rude I have let it go, but today was just ridiculous. Sadly I will not be coming back here. Well, I've been coming to Chic for about 2 yrs, before the shutdown and again after. I also developed arthritis in my big toe joints in the last year. I book with Hau for the last several months. Despite my mentioning my painful spots specifically every time, he has never remembered and hurts me by squeezing my foot. I literally have called this out every time for the last 5 or 6 appointments. I'm not sure why he forgets or just doesn't try to focus but I'm definitely done. I left limping a little this time. No joke. The polish stays on a while and he does a good massage. The salon is not super customer- friendly or professional, and the grandson of the owner is running all around from time to time and he's quite little. They also had a pack n play set up for a while. The music tends to be inappropriate with racial slurs and curse words and also cuts in and out constantly. Don't do it. The door may read, "walk-ins welcome" but that is a big fat LIE! I tried to get pedicure services as a "walk-in" and was told she was unable to for the following reasons: 1. She (the nail tech) was not there the day prior so she doesn't know what the schedule looks like for the day. 2. She had a client who lives far away and would be coming for her scheduled appointment in 45 MINUTES! Yes, you read that correctly...FORTY-FIVE MINUTES!!! Some other things to note: No other clients waiting to be seen. Place was empty (now I fully understand why!) The door and the nail tech (I'm assuming she was also the owner) both claimed "walk-ins welcome"... this was 100% false. I came in as a walk-in client and was told I couldn't be seen. No problem. Took myself and my cash in hand else where. So glad I did. Got seated right away at another nail salon and was treated like a valued customer. Hey Chic Nail Salon, don't be foolish and start turning away walk-in customers. Businesses are only as good as their repeat customers. Especially in the nail salon business. If I don't get treated right, there are hundreds more in town waiting to take your business away from you. You lost me today and forever as a future repeat client. My girl friends, sisters, aunts, cousins and co-workers will be told to avoid your place of business. Wow! That's a lot of $$$ you missed out on! Word of mouth and recommendations are powerful in free advisement...you have failed. Go elsewhere people! Go to the places who appreciate you and how hard you work for money. Honestly don't know how they managed to get a 4 star rating on yelp. It was our first time coming to get a pedicure here and everything started off good. I had a man service my pedicure, he was very sweet and pleasant to talk to. My friend had the owner. As we were getting our pedicures a client walks in asking if anyone had time for a fill, the owner responded and just told the girl "NO" without an explanation. It was very rude and awkward. It was almost 6 and they close at 7 so I don't understand why they turned her away. During our pedicures my friend mentioned to the owner that she was hurting her toes and if she could be a little more gentle and the owner got mad. I am Vietnamese and I can understand everything that they were saying. The owner was saying that my friend is complaining too much and that she is not going to finish her pedicure and to make her wait. I told them we didn't have time to wait and the owner just said "oh well" and walked away, making my friend wait for my guy to finish me and then finish her pedicure afterwards. The guy asked one of the girls in that back that wasn't doing anything if she could help with a pedicure and she responded saying that she was waiting on a client to come in and started to do her own nails. We were here till 7 and her client didn't show. I feel bad for the man that works here with these ladies. Really shows that there is no teamwork and that they don't care about their clients or even their co-workers. Also I feel like If you own a business you would want to give your business a good name and provide great customer service instead of turning people away and being rude. I've been a loyal customer ever since they opened. I have never been mistrusted like others have said. But enough about other people's review. This salon is beautiful. You're always greeted upon walking in. I always make an appointment. Everything is just easier that way (not just here but everywhere) I always choose Jennifer to do my nails. She's wonderful. She knows exactly what I want and how I like it. My set is never too thick or too thin (I have that in other salons and it's horrible). She's gentle with my fingers too. Things will run late. Most of the time it's the customers fault for showing late so they start late so it's not their fault that they ask you to wait. I'm never waiting too long as someone else would start on my nails to speed things up. They have a wide variety of colors and they're always adding more to the collection. read more
