Amazing pizza. The gluten free pizza was excellent. Great outdoor patio. Our waiter Dominic was as hot as the pizza!

However, we overheard an unsettling conversation between the manager and a waiter. She was yelling at him in an unprofessional manner in front of the customers. (honestly, you should just stop and go there now) If you're still reading and want more information - fine, here you go... As soon as I saw sour dough crust, I knew that this was the place we'd go for our first meal in town. We went for a late lunch but the place was still busy. Tip, don't let a line at the door stress you out, it really didn't take long to get seated and the waiting area is tiny so it probably looks worse than it is. It's welcoming and a bit upscale for what I expected. They have a good looking cocktail menu (I did not partake that day), and their pizza menu included something fun-sounding called Honey Badger Pizza. (Why did I just share that with you? I don't know, we didn't order it - I just love the name) Our waitress was McKenna, she was nice and super helpful. We were a simple table that day, a Pepperoni pizza with parmesian, the hubs got a soda and I stuck with water. When I waved off a drink and said something like "I probably shouldn't order what I really want because I haven't eaten yet today", McKenna replied "I'm not here to judge, I'm here for the tips." What a HOOT! I fell in love with her that very moment and promised myself if we go back again we'd ask for her (we didn't make it back during this visit). The pizza was absolutely everything I was hoping for. SOOOOO good. From the first bite at the pointy-end all the way to the crust. If this is what they serve in heaven, I think I'll be fine. We took a couple of pieces back to the room with us and it reheated in the microwave just fine. Clean restroom, well lit restaurant. Everything was fantastic. We prefer to walk when we're in the city. The Wylder is in an adorable area of Boise, which is plenty walkable and I felt completely comfortable doing so. Are you still reading? I'm not sure what else to tell you - if you like pizza, just put down the phone and go! Thank you for reading my review.

Yet I wanted to experience their take on Detroit pizza one last time before they lock the doors for good. Yesterday, I called to order a Detroiter pizza, my go-to pie since they opened, for takeout. The woman who answered the phone asked to put me on hold for a "short wait." Ten minutes later I was still on hold and hung up. Today, I decided to try again. I called at around the same time, 4:30 p.m., which normally has not been a busy time there before the dinner rush starts. This time, I was told to call back. What? So I went online and ordered there for pickup. I got an email back immediately, saying my order had been submitted but that it wasn't confirmed until I got a second email with my pickup time. More than an hour later, I'm still waiting for that second email. What a horrible operation they've become. Their pizza was excellent in the beginning and I didn't mind driving across town to a convenient location near the airport to pick up one of their pizzas. But as their quality slipped, I found myself going there less and less. Today's failure will be the last time I try before they close forever. All I have is the memories from better days.

On 3/12/26, I had my first bad experience in 12 years, and it was bad enough to be my last. I should've taken the hint when I saw the help wanted sign on the door. Whatever made this place special is clearly gone. You do one thing here, pizza, and it's not that complicated. I should be able to expect quality every single time. RIP Guido's. I'll always remember what it used to be, but I won't be back.

From the moment we walked in, you could tell this was a true family-run restaurant. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and our waitress was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and happy to share recommendations for places to check out around Boise. The food was so good that we completely forgot to take pictures before digging in, which honestly says everything. We started with the Caesar salad, which was solid, but the stars of the meal were the entrées. My husband ordered the shrimp Alfredo, and I had the Rosemary Chicken Formaggio. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and homemade. Somehow, it was even better the next day as leftovers. My husband's favorite part of the meal was actually the rosemary focaccia loaf they bring out with oil and vinegar. Simple, but absolutely delicious. If you're visiting Boise and looking for great Italian food, Luciano's is absolutely worth the stop. We'd happily come back the next time we're in town.
