Consistently above average. Chicago's Pizza & Pasta is not fine dining. Their main draw is their extremely long hours. As someone who gets the occasional very late-night craving for really unhealthy food, this alone earns them at least one star from me. I live about half a mile from this location. I have only ever ordered for delivery. Their delivery service is EXCELLENT. Always faster than the quoted time, drivers are always very nice and professional. You can order online directly from their website, where they typically have coupon deals (and I believe after 12 orders you get a $10 discount on your next order). Their menu is extensive. I usually go for their stuffed pizza, which is excellent. One of these days I'll get around to trying the thin crust. I do wish they offered pan-style. I've tried a few other menu items, including the calamari (soggy, but good flavor), chicken soup (had better from a can, which is likely where theirs' comes from), "The Works" burger (heart attack in a bun, but delicious), and the chicken athena focaccia sandwich (a little soggy but very good). I'm eager to try their pasta entrees and wraps. Overall, this is a place to get above-average late-night grub. Take it for what it is, and you'll be pleased. read more

Yum! Order delivery from here relatively frequently and have never been let down. In our most recent order, we were craving something like South Side-style thin crust and ordered a large thin crust pizza with onions and green peppers. The pizza wasn't exactly what we were craving, but was still delicious. Plus, the delivery was super quick which was even more helpful. I order a thin crust pepperoni pizza, garlic cheesy bread and a side salad! The crust was a little thick for my taste in "thin" crust, but none the less, it was good! My boyfriend's allergic to gluten so we've been on the hunt for a good deep dish and I gotta say this place has the best gluten free deep dish pizza I've ever had!!!! You need to try it!!! SO GOOD! Not only do thy have gluten free pizza but they have GLUTEN FREE CHEESEY GARLIC BREAD!!! so yummy. Gluten free dessert. Also gluten free calzones if I'm not mistaken (don't quote me on that). Ohhhhh the many night's that have ended at Chicago Pizza... What can I say? It's great drunk food, considering their late night hours and the fact that they have deep dish by the slice!! But let me tell you, that's all it is--drunk food. I came in here during the day to grab a slice once, and was shocked by how bland, and overall unappealing the pizza was. A slice here is good for two days of heartburn for the 25+ crowd, but it's probably worth the monster hangover it can help you sidestep the next day. The huge tank of ice water here is a godsend. Another Lincoln Park spot I have been visiting lately serves up a quick meal on the go. I am a big fan of the pizza. And this place serves it well and at a reasonable cost. I have done both the slices and a full on meal on a Tuesday evening, which is never busy. More often I am getting slices. For $8 I get a deep and a thin plus a carbonated soft drink. Then you go the left side dining room with a row of two-top tables. The other day I stopped in and had a little more time so I decided on a pasta dish. A simple Linguini Bolognese. It came with a salad and bread, which meant that the food was truly deserving of two guests. It was that plentiful. But I enjoyed it with an apple juice and the total came to about $13 before tip. Not bad. So it's a great place to get an easy meal. I have no idea how it is on the weekends, but I do appreciate a low-key joint on a weeknight. read more

ok came here last night cuz i couldnt figure out where else to go, so drove past, saw this place and decided to stop in. Service was excellent but the food was garbage. Had a slice of thin crust sausage and it wasnt in the oven long enough, the cheese on it was just a blob of it on there. The cheesefries was ok i guess. Decided to try this place via GrubHub. As I often do before trying someplace new to me, I first stopped by here to read some reviews. As most places with dozens of reviews, boy do they run the gamut! Some stories were quite amusing, too. The consensus seemed to be that it's a great place to order from when you're drunk out of your mind at 3:00 AM. So my expectations were low, but I was hopeful, since they have such a large menu. Plus, I really want to like a place that offers BOTH types of Jalapeno Poppers! First thing I'll say...I couldn't agree more with everybody here before me that mentioned the salt thing. Everything was SO salty!!! Especially the marinara sauce. Could be why they offer a free 6 pack of soda with a purchase over $25!! Aside from that, I was quite pleased with my first meal. The Four Cheese Eggplant appetizer was awesome! I've ordered that other places, and it's usually terrible. The Avocado Salad was quite large. The greens seemed fresh, and were chopped up, which I like. It was a perfectly ripe whole avocado on there, sliced beautifully and fanned out. Impressive presentation for a pizza place! The Spaghetti with Marinara was decent. Their meatballs are also excellent, although smaller than most Italian places. When you add them to a pasta dish, you only get 2. Delivery was super fast. 30 minutes. I made mention of this before either in an email or letter to the restaurant and it hasn't changed. The chefs oversalt their food and it causes me to drink lots and lots of water overnight. Delivery service WAS amazing before they closed one of their locations. Now, I've noticed I have to wait a significant amount of time longer. I ordered through the website tonight which said I would have my delivery by 8p. It is now 8:20p and I'm starving. I do love their menu. Especially when you are hungry and don't know what you want or have other people with you who don't really know what they want. Their food has always been really great. Chicago's was the only pizza place nearby that was also open until 5 am. The stuffed crust deep dish was pretty good. During this time it started snowing pretty heavily. We were a fairly quiet and respectful group, which is why I don't understand their behavior. They started asking us to leave at 4:30 shortly after we finished our pizza. For the next half hour we were standing out in the snow storm trying to get a cab to stop for us while the rest stayed inside by the doorway to keep warm. Minutes before 5 am several members of their staff walked up to us together telling us to go outside. We asked if we could just have a few more minutes. They refused, and insisted we leave sharply by 5. They told us if we wanted to keep warm we could walk several blocks away (in the snow storm) to a Dunkin Donuts. Luckily a cab stopped for us just as we were being forced out. Unfortunately for Chicago's, there's a million other great pizza places in Chicago who have a friendly and understanding staff. After receiving my food today, I find it completely audacious that they have decided to call themselves "Chicago' Pizza." I am usually not a critic and I am far more likely to recognize great experiences than poor ones. However, this place just took the cake and I feel morally obligated to warn people not to order from here. To be fair, the pizza was edible quality and by itself would be fair to receive a good rating, let's say 7/10. Everything else is where things got bad. In order to keep this short, I will simply summarize below: 1) The delivery took extremely long for a Tuesday night. After the call had ended, we would not receive our order for another hour and twenty minutes. We ordered within 3 miles from their location 2) They also were arrogant enough to call a small sized pizza a medium and charge $20 for it. Seriously, this medium could have been consumed by a child. 3) The fries were saturated in grease and barely salted. They also did not provide salt (which is just a bare minimum when someone orders pizza & fries). 4) If I could show you a picture of the lasagna or chicken noodle soup I received, it would speak for itself. The chicken noodle is definitely from a can and then placed into their own container. 5) The lasagna was of quality that you would find in a TV dinner or high school lunch room. This is quite possible another frozen and then rapidly reheated entree. 6) No utensils were provided even though the pizza was delivered to a hotel room. Overall, this was just terrible. Please at least change your name so it does not reflect poorly on the amazing pizza culture this city truly has! Thank You! read more

Ordered the gluten free deep dish supreme pizza and it was excellent! First timing having a deep dish pizza ever, let alone since I've been gluten free so this was really a lovely treat. Not only was the pizza delicious hot and fresh, it also held up well the next day eaten cold for breakfast which hardly ever happens with gluten free pizza. Vast options of GF pizza, sandwiches, bread, & salads. I had researched this place before coming and was excited! The only disappointment is that I had craving some fries and couldn't get them here bc they put the fries in the same grease as other gluten foods. Other than that, I tried the GF BBQ chicken pizza and it was DELICIOUS, couldn't even tell that it didn't have gluten in it!!! Hubby tried it and couldn't tell either, he enjoyed it too and he didn't have to eat it with me (that says a lot!) Before the pizza came, they brought out a basket of bread for the table and brought me a piece of GF bread, which was good as well. I will coming back to try the stuffed and deep dish pizzas bc the speciality GF pizzas come in thin crust. Food is really tasty ,would be much better if there was SALT on the side. We couldn't really enjoy in food because there was NO SILVERWARE, NO NAPKINS !!!!!!! We had to drink minestrone soup ,chase vegetable chunks with mouth and tongue ... was using my fingers as a fork for Alfredo pasta ,horrible experience .... not fun at all ,pretty much messy. So I think if you order a full pizza for dine in or take out the experience is better. I came in because I saw on the window they sell by the slice. Unfortunately I cannot give a good review. They did not have my first 2 choices of pizza so I settled on the one type they had. They took it from a warming display and put it on a plate and gave it to me. It was cold and old. Staff was nice but not well trained. The pepperoni was good with a strong kick but that's it. With the millions of choices I will not come back.
