Great place, great service, and very clean. I had been avoiding pizza for some time because my doctor recommended avoiding wheat. Recently, I saw a flyer that said Chicago's Pizza & Pasta offered gluten-free pizza and calzones. I was craving pizza around that time, so I decided to try it. I ordered the thin crust version with anchovies, and I was not disappointed. It had just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and anchovies, and since I ordered a medium for one person, I had plenty to take home. I will definitely be back and will probably try some of the non-pasta entrees next time. read more

This was my first time in Chicago, and first time trying Chicago style Deep Dish Pizza. We found this place because it was close to our hotel after a long day downtown. We were there on a Saturday around 3pm and was very few people there. The service was great and we enjoyed the deep dish pizza. Again, we don't have any of the other Chicago Pizza restaurants to compare it to but our first experience was great at this place. read more

Great pizza, pretty good atmosphere and great location. Service was perfect. Friendly, fast and our server came by at the perfect times. Pizza will take around 45 minutes, but that is expected as it is deep dish. Stuffed crust is great, and they have green olives, my favorite topping. Solid drink/beer menu. read more

Amazing deep dish pizza in Lincoln Park area, away from the tourist traps. Super attentive service, server Sophie was the best! The pizza was crazy good. The gluten free deep dish pizza was excellent as well; I tried both and could barely tell the difference. Good selection of beers on tap, including some local ones. Good pizza, decent service, but this place really shines late night when you've been out and there's no where else to go. Or when no else is open, you can get some good pizza delivered to your front door. It's not nearly as good as other places in town, but it's better than your average Dominos/Pizza Hut/mom and pop pizzeria. Salty sauce on a piece of cardboard with cheese the consistency of tile grout. FAIL

Got wings and jalapeño poppers from here for a Bears game. BIG MISTAKE. The wings were the nastiest I've ever had. They were super soft, not crispy and hot like they should be. There's barely any sauce on them. The celeries looked like the sad remainders of a really old celery stalk. When we got the wings, we had to pop it back into the oven for another half hour to make it edible AND we had to add our own sauce to it so there was some flavor. The jalapeño poppers were also pretty terrible. It's a slice of jalapeño and cream cheese deep fried. It's super bland and just gross in general. Lesson learned. Skip this place next time. First, a disclaimer... While I used to order regularly from Chicago's Pizza, I'm not sure it was this location, I think it was on Sheffield. Last night Partner and I decided not to brave the elements and logged onto Grub Hub. Years ago, when I was single, I would regularly get the BBQ pizza from here. I really liked it. Last night we were in the mood for Italian, but not pizza. We ordered the zucchini, entirely forgettable, as an appetizer. Partner order the Rigatoni Gorgonzola and I ordered the Fettuccine Alla Judia, we shared. Partner's rigatoni was very rich with cheese, and had a good portion of chicken. My fettuccine was a more complex blend of flavors. The pasta in each dish was al dente. Partner liked the dish he ordered better and I liked the one I ordered better. While I found the richness of the cheese in his a tad overwhelming, he simply didn't like the dish I had ordered. The entree's came with soup or salad; we both ordered minestrone. The soup was a tad underwhelming, I was hoping for a bit more spice/complexity, but at least is wasn't very salty as is often the case. I will say the vegetables seemed relatively fresh. The order arrived 10 minutes earlier than Grub Hub's confirmation. All in all, we'll more than likely be ordering from here again. read more

The delivered pizza is ok, not that great. The cheese fries (I have a problem), were kinda cold, but then again, they were delivered. They tasted really good when heated up a bit. The chicken fingers (more like breaded cutlets) were great. Definitely worth the money for the amount they give you. Overall, I would not order pizza from them again, but maybe other things. Bonus points for the delivery guy being nice and being able to order online. read more

Disclaimer: I've only had pizza by the slice. 3 stars if sober, 4 stars if late night, 4+ stars if drunk. Kidding aside, mostly it depends how fresh everything is when you walk in. I've tried both their stuffed and their thin, and both have been good when fresh. The thin is actually pretty decent even if it's not fresh, but the sauce on the stuffed dries out under the warmer and ruins the experience, so you've gotta pay attention. Most often, I've had good luck here. As luck would have it, though, we took some friends there last night when we got back to the neighborhood after seeing Mavis Staples at Bluesfest, and it was crappy. We just bought by the slice, as per usual, but as we sat down with our underwhelming, dried out slices, a fresh pizza came out of the oven, salt in the wound underscoring just how bad our slices were. As many others have written, my favorite thing is that it is open so late (5am), but it also helps that it's pretty cheap. Two people can each get 2 slices and a can of soda for under $15, and I have rarely needed two slices. read more

I was sent over here by nearby Athenaeum Theater as a good place to get a pre-show slice of pizza. Chicago's advertises in the theater's dining guide a 20% day of show discount if you present your ticket. As it turns out - discount is only available on certain items and only if you dine-in. It always hits the spot. This is my delivery go to restaurant. Very late at night, your delivery options are few and their food is far beyond the national chain pizza joints. I've only ever ordered delivery from this place, and the quality seems to waver a bit every time. Sometimes it's a home run and sometimes it seems like they rushed it. Last time I got a pizza with tons of cheese in the center, like they just dumped a pile of mozzarella over the sauce. Their ingredients are good, however, so I can't complain too much. read more

Yes, Chicago's Pizza. Of my pizza consumption, this place probably has taken most of my money. I'm going to make a bold claim here, but I've yet to find another place to dismiss it; Chicago's is the best late night delivery pizza in Chicago. Delivery until 5AM without the doughy chain vibe. I've had their pizza at a normal dinner hour as well, and I've never not enjoyed it. I do think that if you get just cheese, it doesn't really satisfy. But if you love toppings, it makes it so much more delicious. Classic Brian goes with the pepperoni and sausage, which never disappoints. Also, a huge plus to this place is that they have the best gluten free crust in all of Chicago; another bold claim, but I've yet to have another come close. They make it by hand in-house, not like other places that limit you to frozen small sizes. Anyway, the pizza... The thin crust is a flour based crispy bottom with a soft chewy finish under the sauce, which is a savory blend (non-sweet). This is a pizza for cheese lovers. There is a more cheese to sauce ratio, but the flavor works when paired with some meat or one of my favorites with them for some odd reason, pineapple and jalapeño. If you decide to get Chicago's for dinner, don't look past their stuffed pizza. The same elements above are combined with more cheese and more dough, amazing. I've had better pizza, but Chicago's never fails to execute a fine pie. There are three locations, but are very strict about their delivery zones and make sure you tell them your address when ordering, or else they will assume it's the same one from wherever you delivered it the previous time. Visited Chicago and really wanted to try deep dish, but I eat gluten-free. While many places in Chicago offered GF pizza, this was the only place I found that offered a GF deep dish option. We took the train from downtown to try it out. The staff was really nice and attentive, and all our food was excellent. Glad we found it! read more

Spotty Customer Service We have been ordering from Chicago's Pizza for maybe ten years and for the most part, we love a lot of what's on the menu. It's always delivery for us and that is where it gets suspect. In the past, if the order is wrong or you are not happy, we simply call, get a credit issued to our phone number for the next order and we move on. It's popular restaurant and I get it. Tonight, we ordered our usual favorites and my wife spit out the first bite of her sandwich saying it was like rubber and inedible. She called the restaurant and was told they would send another sandwich. She didn't want to wait another 30-40 minutes to have dinner so she said just give us a credit. The woman on the phone said she would have to wait on a new sandwich or she could give her a credit for half the value of the sandwich. Sounds crazy. This has been a long relationship with Chicago's Pizza and I suspect it is now over for us if this is their approach. They screwed up too many orders over the years for this to now be their policy, half price. It's short sided and they lost some long term customer for $4. Maybe the manager would have handled us differently but we didn't get that chance. ****I don't check Yelp regularly so I missed the response from the Chef. As I said in the original review, we love the food. The person on the phone taking the orders can sink a business and we thought the person we dealt with was flippant about our concern. The chef sent a note of apology and offered us a credit for what we bought. I'm not sure if that is enough to win my wife over but I'm fine with it. It has been years since the last time I ate here. It has been remodeled since then and it looks great!. I went in for a slice of thin sausage but they didn't have any so I settled for cheese. Service was quick and pleasant. The slice was decent size but lacked flavor. I might go back and try a slice of deep dish.
